"Tikki, what should I do for Mother's Day?" Marinette looked up from her diary at her Kwami. "Most people get flowers and chocolates, but I want to give something special," she said.

Tikki licked her lips. "What's wrong with chocolates, Marinette?" Tikki asked, licking her lips. Marinette giggled. "Your just saying that because you love sweets. Come on, let's go visit Leo's," she suggested.

Leo owned the cheese shop downtown, and had recently added a coffee bar. Marinette had surprised herself by liking a bit better then her beloved Starbucks and she found it a bit quieter too.

"Why, Miss Marinette!" Leo greeted her with a warm smile on his face. Leo was a kind and gentle man, quiet, but had a good word for everyone. Marinette liked it when he called her "Miss."

"What brings you in today?" he asked, as he made her order behind the counter. Marinette rested her chin in her hands, elbows resting on the counter. "Mother's Day," she sighed.

"Ah, not wanting to get the standard flowers and chocolate? Good for you! Your a creative girl, you'll come up with something. Speaking of creating, Adrien's been working over there for hours. His coffee's bound to be cold. Could you ask him if he'd like a refill while I finish up your order, dear?"

I'm going need coffee for my now dry throat, but I'll try. "Mari, I know you have a crush on him, but trust me. Mr. Agreste doesn't bite."

Turning a bit red, Marinette slid off her stool. Great, even Leo knew she liked Adrien. Oh, well. "Hi, Adrien," she said, walking up to his table.

A pad of paper and brushes littered the table, and Marinette could detected the scent of ink in the air. "What are you working on?" she asked, her curiously outweighing her shyness. "Chinese letters. Its my latest assignment from my tutor, and I work better here without the distractions of home."

Marinette bit her lip. Sure, Adrien could say no, but maybe Adrien could help her learn a few letters for a card? It was worth a shot. Summoning her Ladybug courage, she asked, "Do have time to teach me a few letters?"

Adrien's expression grew soft. "I'd like nothing better, Marinette," he told her. "Great," she squeaked. "Let me get my coffee and we can get started." She started to spin around so Adrien couldn't see her blushing face. "Marinette?" She turned. "Yes?" "Could I have a refill?" Oh, why did Adrien's eyes have to sparkle like that? And why did they have to be so green? "Right," she said, and the cup rattled.

"Well, somebody's going to be jealous," Tikki said, smiling smugly from Marinette's purse. "Who?" "Cat Noir! I saw how the two of you were flirting the other night." "No, that's was….." Tikki gave Marinette a wink.

She sighed. Why couldn't Adrien and Cat just be the same guy? It would make life so much less complicated.

She felt a little better when she sat down, frappe in hand. She always ordered the mocha peanut butter frappe, and wondered why it always tasted so good. Leo insisted that the only "magic" ingredient he put in was love.

"Okay, so what would you like to write?" Adrien asked. "You could make her a small card. After all, Mother's Day is right around the corner." "Don't I know it! I'm always getting distracted," she sighed. "Wait! That's it! Hold on…" Marinette scribbled down some words then showed Adrien what she had written.

"I may be forgetful and clumsy,

So I wrote this to thank you

for cleaning up my messes.

Thanks for being Mom,

Being my wake up call in the morning,

and when its time to brush my teeth."

Adrien chuckled at the last part. It wasn't only Sabine that had to remind her daughter, Cat Noir also had to remind her about brushing her teeth.

As Adrien helped Marinette with the loops and curves, it felt so good to hold his Princess's hand without the gloves of his suit. Up close, he could see how hard she worked on her sewing and some tiny needle pricks. He longed to kiss each one, but only Cat could do that Marinette with Marinette. For now.

Marinette studied her handiwork an hour later. Sure, it wasn't perfect like Adrien's, but it was pretty good for the first time. Then realization hit her. Adrien didn't have a mother, so naturally he wouldn't be celebrating Mother's Day.

"Adrien, if you'd like to join our small celebration, Mom would love to have you come," she invited. She closed her eyes briefly as Adrien placed his hand on her cheek, warm and comforting. "I don't think Cat would like that," he whispered. There would be a time, some time soon he could visit Marinette without the black mask. But for now, only Cat would visit.

Walking home Marinette paused by a flower stall, admiring the pretty blossoms. A pink one for her mother stood out for her, but a blue one with green foliage woven in between caught her eye as well.

It was a nice celebration, but Marinette was excited to give Adrien her "thank you" gift. It was a bouquet of forget-me-not flowers, because like Cat, Adrien held a special spot in her heart.

Sabine saw the way Cat looked at her daughter, wondering if it was indeed Adrien Agreste behind the mask. Both boys had blonde hair, and both had a caring and gentle side to them. Adrien had invited them to his next fashion show, and Sabine had something special in mind. For now, it was a surprise,

Whether Cat Noir was Adrien or not, she could see how happy her daughter had become whenever he came to visit. It pleased her even more when Cat started coming for afternoon tea, while Marinette was at her sewing class. Sabine wanted to something for the Feline of Paris, after all, he was the one who stood up for her when she got akumatized. To Cat, she was more then just Sabine, Marinette's mom. She was becoming Mama Cheng.
