A week has passed since the dress incident. Today is the night of yet another pageant. The auditorium is packed with guests including Roxanne's family. From backstage, Roxanne peeks through the curtains in search of Alfred. She finds Alfred's family among the audience, but Alfred is nowhere to be found. She takes a sad sigh and hides behind the curtain. The other pageant girls notice this behaviour from Roxanne, and they become concerned.
"Roxie, you're alright?" Lola asked.
"Yeah," she replies. "I'm fine."
"This is about Alfred, isn't it?" assumed Isabelle.
Roxanne takes another sigh. "I'm worried about him. He hadn't spoken to me for a week. Every time I tried to talk to him at school, he avoided me. He isn't answering my calls! I think he's mad at me for making him go out in public in a dress, or worse!"
"Calm down, Roxanne!" Jane told her. "I'm sure Alfred isn't that mad at you. He just needed some time to cool off."
"I hope you're right."
"If it'll make you feel better," Jackie suggests, "we can head over to the ice cream shop for ice cream."
"Thank you, Jackie," says Roxanne.
Suddenly, Mrs. Dufrense starts her announcement. "Ladies and gentlemen! Girls and boys! My non-binary pals! Our first constant who will perform is…" She picks an index card from her pocket. "A special guest!"
"Huh?!" The pageant girls were confused.
"Special guest?" Chinah wondered.
"We've never done that before," said Sally.
"Who would that be?" Rhonda asked.
"Wow! What a change in pace!" Mrs. Dufrense is also flabbergasted. "Anyway, please welcome our special guest!"
Confetti exploded all over the stage. The stage door suddenly opens, and something rises from under the stage. The audience and contestants watch in wonder as a silhouette emerges from under the stage. As the special guest is on stage, a spotlight shines toward the guest, revealing him to be Alfred McAlister. The audience (except for Alfred's family) and the pageant girls gasp in shock.
"Alfred?!" Roxanne exclaimed in disbelief.
"No way!" Lola cried in shock.
"He's wearing the dress we made for him!" Miriam pointed out.
Indeed he is. Alfred also has a ribbon on hand. For the first time in Royal Woods history, a boy is participating in a pageant.
Ballerina-like music starts playing. Alfred lifts the ribbon into the air and begins spinning it. The ribbon soon twirls around Alfred making him look like he's inside a ribbon tornado. The audience and the pageant girls could not believe their eyes. When did Alfred gain such talent?
But Alfred is not done yet. Next, he twirls along with the ribbon. Then, he makes a long leap. The ribbon is pulled straight by the air, creating an image of Alfred in midair leaping through the air with the ribbon waving along with it. Almost like he is leaping over a river. The audience and contestants are spectacularised by this wonderful site. They never would have guessed Alfred is such a talented dancer.
After the leap, the music ends, and the performance is along with it. The audience starts clapping, especially Alfred's family. The pageant girls cheer for Alfred. Turns out that it is a good idea to express his femininity after all.
