It was a few months later and Jon was about 20 weeks pregnant now. Him and Bryan were snuggling one morning when Jon began to speak. "I was thinking. I don't want to find out the gender this time around. I want it to be a surprise." He smiled as he snuggled with Bryan.
"I like that idea." Bryan smiled.
Jon sighed. "I miss the twins." He said. Eddie had gone to rehab and was 60 days sober, so Jon decided to let Eddie have them on the weekends.
"I know, babe. But they'll be back Sunday."
"It is kinda nice to have the house to ourselves for once." Jon shrugged.
"Yeah just imagine the things we can do.." Bryan said with a wink.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Jon asked, smirking.
Bryan didn't have to say anything, he just climbed on top of Jon and kissed him deeply. Jon moaned into the kiss, wrapping his hands around Bryan's waist. He squeezed Bryan's ass as the older man kept kissing him. He could feel himself getting hard. "Bryan…" He mumbled against his lover's lips. "Need you…" He pleaded, pulling Bryan's pajama pants off.
"How do you want me?" Bryan asked with a smirk.
"Don't care." Jon moaned.
"Want to fuck me?" Bryan suggested. Jon nodded and flipped them over so that he was on top. He was already naked cause that's how he usually slept. He pushed into Bryan without warning, moaning at how tight the older man was. He began thrusting slowly, savoring the moans that came from his lover. He moaned as he sped up his thrusts, reaching around and stroking Bryan's hardened length in time with his thrusts. It wasn't long before both men were cumming hard, Jon blowing his load in Bryan's tight hole and Bryan's load landing all over Jon's hand. Jon licked up the cum off his hand and pulled out of Bryan. He panted for a few minutes before getting up. "Where you going?" Bryan asked.
"I am feeling a little sick, need to get some fresh air." Jon lied, putting some shorts and shoes on and heading outside. He went to his truck and grabbed something out of the glove box, something that he hid from Eddie and now from Bryan. It was a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He grabbed a cigarette and lit it, drawing it to his lips and taking a puff. He blew a cloud of smoke out and heard, "Jon? What the fuck?" Shit. He quickly tossed the cigarette to the ground and stepped on it to smother the hots.
"What?" Jon asked, acting innocently.
"Don't 'what' me." Bryan huffed. "I saw that cigarette in your hand. Do you have any idea how bad that is for you? And for our baby?"
Jon raised an eyebrow at his angry lover. "Last I knew, this is my body, not yours. And just for your information, I smoked my whole pregnancy with the twins and they turned out fine." Jon snapped.
Bryan growled. "Did you hide this nasty habit from Eddie too?"
"As a matter of fact, I did. Because he would have been a judgemental prick about it just like you're being right now." Jon countered.
Bryan crossed his arms. "Well excuse me for caring about your health and the health of our unborn baby. That shit causes cancer, Jon. Is that what it's gonna take for you to quit? Getting lung cancer?"
"If I get it, then I get it! This shit helps my anxiety!"
"And what do you have to be anxious about?" Bryan seethed. "We literally just got done fucking. You shouldn't be anxious about anything right now."
"MY FUCKING KIDS ARE WITH MY EX. IT'S THEIR FIRST WEEKEND AWAY FROM ME AND I'M FUCKING FREAKING OUT THAT HE WON'T BRING THEM BACK!" Jon shouted, feeling tears welling up in his eyes. He looked away quickly so Bryan wouldn't see him crying.
Bryan frowned, he didn't realize how much being away from the twins was affecting Jon. He sighed. "I'm sorry Jon. I didn't know that's what was going through your mind. But either way, smoking is very unhealthy. At least promise me you won't smoke for the remainder of the pregnancy. You can smoke all you want once the baby is born but I don't want anything happening to this baby as long as he or she is still inside you."
Jon felt more tears stream down his face. "I can't make that promise. I'm off my antidepressants because of the pregnancy. They helped with my anxiety, but now that I'm off them it's been horrible. I need something. And cigarettes help with my anxiety. I can't promise that I'll quit for the remainder of the pregnancy." Jon sighed in defeat. "I just can't. I wish you could see that I need them to keep sane." He walked over to the patio swing, sitting down and hiding his face in his hands. Bryan walked over to Jon and sat down next to him. "I'm sorry for getting mad. I just know how unhealthy smoking can be and it scares me. It scares me that you could possibly end up with cancer and die. And I worry about our baby. But if you insist that the baby will turn out fine, I trust you. But please don't hide anything else from me." He said, wrapping his arms around Jon. Jon whimpered into Bryan's chest. "I'm terrified he's not gonna bring them back." He mumbled.
Bryan rubbed Jon's back and said, "He has to bring them back. It's in the custody agreement. If he doesn't bring them back, we have the right to call the cops on him for kidnapping. He has no choice but to bring them back if he doesn't want to go to jail."
Jon nodded solemnly. He was about to ask permission to smoke another cigarette when he saw Eddie's truck pull in the driveway. He was confused, it wasn't Sunday yet. He was supposed to keep them til Sunday.
Jon got up and walked to Eddie's truck. Eddie rolled down the window and frowned. "I had to bring them to you. They're sick and extremely fussy and nothing I do can seem to console them. Brooklyn kept asking for Dada."
"How are they sick?" Jon asked, frowning.
"They've been puking and having diarrhea in their diapers all night last night. I think they got a stomach bug."
Jon frowned. Him and Bryan had that same stomach bug a week prior to Eddie taking them on Friday. He sighed. "Are you sure you don't want to keep them until Sunday?"
"I want to, but I also don't want them to suffer. If they want to be with their Dada, so be it. It's what's best for them. I promise I'll keep them the whole weekend next time." Jon smiled softly, secretly relieved that Eddie had brought the kids back early. He helped Eddie get the twins out of the truck and then grabbed their diaper bag.
As Eddie got back in the truck, Jon said to Eddie, "I'm sorry they got sick, Bryan and I had a stomach bug last week. They must have caught it from us."
"It's okay, shit happens. They should be better by next weekend." Eddie said before driving away.
Jon and Bryan got the twins out of their car seats and held the crying babies close, trying to console them. Jon paused when he heard a cough come from Brooklyn, followed by wetness. He groaned, realizing that the toddler had vomited on him. He sighed and looked at Bryan. "Can you go get me a towel?"
Bryan nodded and carried Jonathan inside. Jon followed behind, holding Brooklyn. She looked up at Jon, her lip quivering. "Dada…" She whimpered. Jon frowned. When Bryan handed him the towel, he cleaned his back off. He looked at Bryan. "Maybe we should take them to the ER. I don't want them getting dehydrated. He looked down at Brooklyn, who was still whimpering. Jon sighed sadly, it was the first time the kids were ever sick. He started to feel sick himself but that was from the HG. Just like his last pregnancy, it tended to be worse when he was stressed out. "What do you think we should do?" Jon asked Bryan.
"Let's wait and see if we can get them to hold down fluids. Jonathan seems to be doing okay right now, I think Brooklyn is the sicker one."
Jon looked down at his whimpering daughter and frowned. "She sounds so miserable." He felt himself beginning to get emotional. "I don't think she will be able to hold anything down. She literally just puked on me 5 minutes ago." Jon said. "Fuck I need a cigarette…my anxiety is through the roof right now.." He said. He looked down at his daughter and sighed. "I want to get her seen. I'm not taking no for an answer." He frowned as the toddler began to vomit yet again. He got her cleaned up and put her back in her car seat, while Bryan did the same with Jonathan. He grabbed a shirt from his dresser and put it on. "Let's go. Before she pukes again." Jon ordered. Bryan nodded and followed Jon to the truck. They began the drive to the hospital. Halfway there, Jon heard something that sounded like a really wet fart. He sighed, realizing that one of the babies had just had a bout of diarrhea. He finished the drive to the hospital and carried the babies to the nearest bathroom to check their diapers. He frowned when he discovered that Brooklyn had a blowout diaper. He changed her and got her cleaned up before they brought the twins into the ER reception area. He walked up to the receptionist and explained the situation. "My twins caught a stomach bug from my boyfriend and I. Brooklyn is having the worst of it. They've both been vomiting over the past 24 hours and have diarrhea. I'm worried they might be dehydrated."
The receptionist nodded and said, "We will have a nurse come get you in a few minutes, please have a seat."
Jon frowned, hating that they had to wait. After what felt like forever, a nurse finally called them back. She took the twins' vital signs and got them into a room with a crib. "When's the last time they had a wet diaper?" The nurse asked. Jon frowned, realizing that Brooklyn's diaper had been dry when he changed her, aside from the poop. "They were with their father, my ex, for most of this. But when I changed her when we got here, the diaper was dry, aside from the diarrhea. Let me call him." Jon got up and walked into the hallway, grabbing his phone and dialing Eddie's number.
"Hello?" Eddie answered.
"I brought the twins to the ER. They want to know when they last had a wet diaper. Like urine wet, not diarrhea wet." Jon explained.
"They both were wet this morning when I changed their diapers. But now that I think of it, they haven't had a wet diaper since this morning."
"Shit…" Jon frowned. "They're most likely dehydrated then. Which means they'll need IV's…Eddie… I can't do this, I can't watch them being poked and prodded." Jon felt tears stream down his face.
"You have to be strong, Jon. For the twins. Do you want me to come up there?"
"Would you? Bryan's here with me though."
"Of course I can. The twins need us. I'll be there in a few minutes. Bye."
"Bye.." Jon hung up, heading back into the hospital room. "Their father said they haven't had a wet diaper since this morning." He told the nurse. He then looked at Bryan. "He's on his way here. I asked him to come. The twins need him to be here too."
Bryan nodded, frowning as Jonathan began to vomit. The nurse got him cleaned up and looked at Jon and Bryan. "We will have to give them IV's to get them hydrated. We can also give them Zofran in their IV's so they can stop vomiting. I just need to know how old they are so I can give them the correct dosage."
"11 months.." Jon answered.
"Thank you. I'll get the IV's started." She began to search Brooklyn's arm for a good vein. Once she found it, she sterilized the area. She was about to stick the needle in when Jon began to freak out. "I can't watch this…" He turned his head away, wincing as Brooklyn began to scream after the nurse got the IV in.
"Oh baby girl….daddy's here." Eddie rushed in, holding the baby close to try and console her. Bryan held Jonathan as the nurse did the same to him. After hearing his son wail, Jon began to sob. "I can't do this…" He sobbed. "My babies are miserable. Fucking hell. Bryan, please." Jon pleaded with Bryan, knowing that his lover would know exactly what Jon was asking. Bryan looked at him and nodded. "Go get some fresh air. Eddie and I got this handled."
Jon rushed out of the hospital and out to the truck, where he began to vomit violently onto the pavement. When he finished getting sick, he grabbed his pack of cigarettes out of the glove box and lit one up, crying as he took that first puff. After he finished his cigarette, he headed back inside. His stomach was still in knots but he went in anyway. Once he reached the twins' hospital room, he walked in. "Feel better?" Bryan asked when he walked in.
"Anxiety wise, yes. Stomach wise, no." He sighed. He was still sick to his stomach but knew it was from the HG.
"Got HG again, huh?" Eddie asked.
Jon nodded.
"That's gotta suck. I know how it always flares up when you're stressed out." Eddie said.
Jon nodded, resting his head on his knees. He then looked up at the twins, who seemed like they were feeling a bit better. "The nurse give them Zofran already?" He asked Bryan.
"Yeah. But it's not gonna stop the diarrhea…" Bryan frowned.
"Is there anything else they can give them for that? Like Imodium?" Jon asked.
"I don't know, we'll have to ask when the nurse comes back in." Bryan said.
Jon nodded, smiling softly as Brooklyn began to babble. "Dada!!" She squealed. Jon smiled brightly. "Is my baby girl finally feeling better?"
Brooklyn clapped, giggling. The nurse then entered the room. "Seems like Zofran is doing the trick." She smiled brightly.
"Is there anything we can give them to get the diarrhea to stop as well?" Jon asked.
"Yes, we can give them medicine in their IV's. Would you like me to give them it?" The nurse asked.
"Yes please. I just want my babies to get better already."
"You know this isn't a permanent fix, right? Once the medicine wears off they may start to feel poorly again." The nurse warned as she inserted some medicine into their IV's.
"That's okay, they are getting fluids." He frowned as Brooklyn began to cry. Jon rushed over to her and held her. "What's wrong, baby girl?" He then noticed her diaper was puffy, like she had gone to the bathroom. "Do you need a diaper change?" Jon cooed. He began to change her diaper, shocked when he saw that she had finally peed. "Good girl!" Jon praised as he changed her diaper.
After what seemed like the whole day, the doctor came in and said, "They are ready to go home."
Jon grinned and thanked the doctor. He then looked at Eddie. "Do you want to take them for the rest of the weekend now that they are feeling better?"
"I do. But just in case, maybe we should wait until next weekend."
Jon nodded in understanding. Eddie gave the twins each a hug and kiss and said, "Daddy's gonna head home. I love you guys so much." Eddie then left the room. Jon and Bryan got the twins into their car seats and signed the discharge paperwork. They carried them out to the truck. The drive home was silent, aside for the occasional babbles from the twins. Bryan looked at Jon. "You feeling okay? You're being very quiet."
"Kinda sick to my stomach right now, but I'll be fine. It's just the HG."
"Are you sure it's not a relapse of the stomach bug? You did get puked on. It's possible you might have caught it again."
"I honestly don't think it's a relapse. If I had caught the stomach bug from the twins, it wouldn't have shown up this quickly." He groaned softly, holding his stomach.
"Need me to pull over?" Bryan asked.
"No. I'll be fine." Jon said, resting his head against the window. Bryan shrugged and finished the drive home. When they finally got home, Jon headed straight to the bedroom, leaving Bryan to carry both twins in. Bryan sighed and placed each twin in their playpens before going to check on Jon. When he got to the bedroom, he was shocked at what he saw. Jon was laying in bed, tears streaming down his face. "Jon…what's wrong?" Bryan asked, concerned.
"I keep hearing their screams in my head. When they got the IV's. It keeps playing over and over in my head." Jon explained.
"Oh Jon, they're fine now. They're babbling away happily in their playpens."
"Plus…they're gonna be 1 next month and I have no idea how to plan a birthday party. I'm just filled to the brim with anxiety right now."
Bryan sighed and sat next to Jon on the bed. "It'll come naturally."
"They don't even have any friends their age. What's the point of planning a birthday party with no other kids invited?" Jon asked.
"Then how about we take them to the park? They can meet some new friends there." Bryan suggested.
Jon nodded. "I guess that'll work."
"Now wipe your eyes and come downstairs. We'll get them ready for the park."
"No. We should wait until tomorrow. Just in case. We don't want to get there and have them start throwing up again." Jon sighed. "I think I'm just gonna go to bed. Would you mind watching them the rest of the night?"
"Not at all." Bryan frowned. "Get some rest, I've got everything covered." With that, he left the room. Jon sighed and rolled over, falling asleep quickly.
