Hey, this is me back with chapter three. I reread my previous chapters and realized that I accidentally made some typos/grammar mistakes, but I will fix them in the future, I just don't know when. TheFranninator, you brought up a good point. To be honest I don't think I can get all canon characters in the story, but I'll try to get as many as I can in without their role being awkward. Any suggestions on what roles different canon characters can play? Oh, as usual I do not own the Owl House. The show's creators and Disney do. Give it 50 years though and Disney will own everything. Anyways, here's chapter three!
Chapter Three
After the cafeteria incident Luz was a little shaken, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle, which was what she kept trying to tell herself. Luz made it through most of the rest of the day without problems, but she froze when she reached her last class, seeing Amity. What made it worse is that the only available seat was directly in front of her. Luz accepted her fate and went over, sitting down.
Soon enough the teacher began his lesson and Amity whispered, "Hey, can you move your wings or shrink them or something? I can't see the board."
Luz shrunk her wings to a smaller size after concentrating and mumbled, "It's not my fault you can see them."
Amity was in shock she actually shrunk her wings, but she continued taking notes until the bell rang. Luz almost immediately got up and her wings went back to full size as she left the room. Amity pulled all her stuff together and chased after her. Amity caught up to her and said, "Wait! I want to talk to you!"
Luz turned around and asked, "What?! What do you want from me? To bully me or something? Threaten me again? What?"
Amity gulped, "I wanted to say thank you for shrinking your wings back there for me. Also, I want to know what you are. I promise I won't tell anyone. It's for personal satisfaction. If not, I will keep pestering you and stalking you until I find out."
Luz groaned and said, "First off, thank you. It takes a lot of effort to momentarily shrink your wings. Second, I am bound by laws to not tell you, otherwise I probably would. Just stay away from me and figure it out yourself, alright?"
With that Luz left, leaving behind a confused Amity who was soon joined by Boscha. Luz got to a nearby bench outside the school, sat down, and pulled out the folder, wondering what she should do for the night. Luz went through it until she found a page marked, 'Accommodations.' Luz read, "Luz, since you will be strictly staying in the human realm, you will need a home that you can go to. I know the arrangement we made isn't idea, but it should make do. There's an angel that was cast out of heaven years ago that lives in the city not too far away from the school. Attached is an order for her to take you in for your assignment. She will be responsible for providing for your needs as well. Her name is Edalyn Clawthorne. After finishing reading this, you will instinctly know how to get there. Good luck and I believe in you. Signed, Alice."
Luz sat there, shocked, confused, curious, "A fallen angel? What did she do to be cast out?"
Luz got a tingling in her head that seemed to be pulling her and Luz followed where it went. Luz found herself in front of an old apartment building with buzzers on it and a speaker. Luz read through the names and selected "Clawthorne." Luz pressed down on it, giving out a buzzing sound. A voice came over the speaker that asked, "What do you want? I'm not interested in buying anything."
Luz replied, "I'm Luz Noceda, I'm here to find Edalyn Clawthorne. I'm supposed to live with her."
There was a chuckle from the other end as the voice replied, "Oh yeah?"
Luz gulped, "That's right. I have a letter from heaven. I'm an angel."
The voice groaned and sighed, "I'll buzz you up."
Luz heard the door buzz and click, so she stepped inside and walked up the stairs until she came to a door that read, "Get out of here while you still can. Sincerely, Edalyn Clawthorne."
Luz knocked on the door and A lady with grey hair opened it, looking over Luz and seeing her wings. She sighed, beckoning for her to come in, "Come on. Let me see the letter."
Luz just handed her the folder and the lady opened it, reading the pages. After awhile she nodded, "Make yourself at home kid, and call me Eda."
Luz looked around, looking at the clutter. She took a deep breath and walked over to a couch, sitting down. Luz asked, just to make conversation, "How long have you been on Earth?"
Eda looked up from the folder, "Since it looks like you'll be living here for a few years, we should get to know each other. To answer your question, 30 years. What's your whole deal? Besides what's in this folder here?"
Luz thought carefully and replied, "Well, I'm an angel. This is my first assignment. My name is Luz Noceda. I like to draw and watch television. I… I honestly don't know how to answer that."
Eda chuckled, "Confused typical teenage girl. Got it. Don't worry, everybody figures out who they are sooner or later and if you need help, just ask me. I'm old. I know things."
Luz replied, "I guess I am a little confused about things, but I'm determined to make everything work."
Eda smirked, "You remind me of me in the olden days."
Luz fidgeted, "Can I, can I ask you a question?"
Eda sighed, "I'm pretty sure I already know the question, but go ahead."
Luz gulped, "Why were you cast out of heaven?"
Eda cleared her throat, "It's simple really. I had a sister. My sister decided that her potential was wasted in heaven, so she left and joined the ranks of hell. After that, well, heaven decided they couldn't trust anybody that was that close to someone like that, so they stripped me of everything I was, turned me into a human, and cursed me to live out my life here on Earth."
Luz replied, slowly absorbing the information, "That's not fair. You didn't do anything wrong. You shouldn't have been punished."
Eda smiled, "Eh, don't worry about it kid, it was 30 years ago. I've accepted my fate."
Listen, I know this chapter was awkward, but I was trying to find ways to introduce some information and the only thoughts on my mind was the content for the chapter after this. It also doesn't help that I've spread out the writing of this chapter over a few days. Or that I went through some kind of weird emotional rollercoaster. Enough about me though and remember to leave any comments of either the negative or positive kind below. Thank you.
