Title: His Back Story

By: greygoose70

Summary: Everybody has a history…this is his.

Born as Richard Alexander Rodgers on April 1st, 1974, to Martha Rodgers, an actress. Father…unknown (at least to him).

June,1992: Graduated from Faircroft High School immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps. He did his initial training (bootcamp and basic infantry) at MCRD Parris Island SC where during his weapons qualifications and other training exercises he was pegged as a candidate for Recon and Scout Sniper training.

September,1998: Master Sergeant Richard A. Rodgers had his MOS changed in order to become an MP. Again because of his training, his experience and leadership abilities he was given a promotion to Warrant Officer, assigned to be an investigator, a position he appreciated since he was now also a father.

June,2002: Now with a rank of Major and a single parent he opted to muster out of the Corps. His writing had begun taking off a few years earlier and he wanted to devote more time to it and his daughter. However when approached with a lucrative offer by the CIA he accepted under certain conditions.

October,2006: Richard Castle, his nom-de-plume, is now his legal name. he has resigned from the CIA but because of his past accomplishments he was being approached by other government agencies to consult on their cases ultimately being given agent status with DHS (Homeland Security) when he helped them take down 'Black Swan', a domestic terrorist organization.

March,2009: He met Detective Kate Beckett…that is when their story began.

AN: I wrote this to let the readers of my stories know that from this point forward my version of Richard Castle will go unchanged when it comes to investigating murders, although he will still exhibit his 9 year old side at times. I'm establishing the time frame as early Season 3, this way I can reference happenings from earlier episodes. Caskett has been established and I will continue to expand on their love story. FYI the Demming/Beckett relationship never happened neither did the Rick/Gina/Hamptons debacle; Montgomery never gets killed (I liked his character to much). I will continue to incorporate characters from my other favorite programs which are…you'll just have to wait and see, LOL.

More thoughts: A stand alone Lanie Parrish story. A Ryan/Esposito story. Character role reversal story and of course stories where I put the characters in a different genre, westerns being my favorite.

Now I want to thank all those who have read, reviewed or just commented on my stories. All of you have helped in making me a better storyteller.
