Chapter 1
Amanda downed the shot as she sat at the table in front of a few gambling chips. She had been under the weather with a stomach bug. That shot made her queasy. She was down quite a bit of money and that made her feel even worse. The guy across the table smiled at her. She had noticed him. He had brown hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and a charming smile. She put her head down knowing she shouldn't have been at the underground gambling club. She was a cop and that was a big no no. She drank, gambled, and had pointless sex to forget. It never helped no matter how many times she did it.
She grabbed her chips and cashed out. Amanda looked at the cash and ticket. "Great." The handsome guy put a roll of money down, "Let me help." Amanda scoffed, "No thanks!" He smiled and turned to the cashier, "Here, pay it off." Amanda shrugged, "I wouldn't repay you." He smiled, "Cool, I'm not asking you to. I'm Nate Davis." Amanda pushed his money back and paid her own bill. They headed out and Amanda got to her truck, "I'm a cop and I will shoot you." He laughed, "A cop who gambles. That's a good one. Look, can we grab some food?" Amanda smirked, "I'm Amanda. And no, but you can fuck me."
She climbed in her truck and she nodded for him to join her. She unfastened his pants and pulled out his dick. She sucked him until his length was hard as a rock. She pulled off before he could cum and straddled his thighs. He fell forward on her chest, "Fuck, I don't have condom." Amanda kissed him, "I'm on the pill." She sat on his length and rocked back and forth. "Fuck Amanda!" He held her waist down and thrusted upwards hard and fast until they both came hard. "Fuck!" Amanda hugged his neck and breathed hard, "I'm gonna be sore tomorrow." Nate smiled, "Can I have your number, maybe we can grab that bite." Amanda handed him her phone, "I'll take your number, but don't bet on a call."
The next day Amanda was sitting in Dr. Melinda Warner's office going over the crime scene information. She shifted in her chair because she was sore. She knew she wasn't doing things right. New York should have been a new start. "Amanda, I'm turning this case over to SVU. The victim had tearing, it's obvious, but you know that. You came from SVU." Amanda looked at it and she knew, "You're right." Melinda liked Amanda, "You want to take it down?" Amanda shrugged, "Aren't you friends with them?" Melinda smiled, "Liv and Fin are friends of mine, but I'm swamped."
Amanda grabbed the file and headed down and stopped at the desk. "I have a file for someone in SVU." The man waved a tall brunette over. Amanda froze as she watched her walk towards her. She had curves in all the right places and she swung her brown hair with perfect streaks out of her eyes. Amanda had never been attracted to women, but she gulped watching her walk over. It was like slow motion. "I'm Sergeant Benson, what can I do for you." She was cold and not very nice. Amanda handed her the file, "Dr. Warner sent this down."
Olivia looked up finally, "Rollins?" Amanda Rollins?" Amanda squinted, "Yeah." Olivia smiled, "Yeah? I'm a Sergeant." Olivia took the file, "Thanks see you around." She watched Sergeant Benson walk away and saw her lean over to an African American man and point to her. He looked at her and smiled. He seemed nicer. He walked over and tapped a Hispanic guy on the shoulder and they all walked into an office. When she saw who's office, she left before Cragen could see her.
When Nick and Fin were sent to investigate a case, Olivia asked, "Cap, why not join SVU?" He shrugged, "I have no idea." Amanda was a star and she wanted out of Atlanta. Since she was a detective in the APD SVU of course she was directed to Cragen. He offered her the position, but with her forensics background, she went with the Crime Scene Unit.
Cragen couldn't worry about Amanda, he was concerned about Olivia. "Liv, how are you?" Olivia smiled, "I'm ok." Olivia wasn't ok. It had been four months since the shooting and Elliot just walked away. He wouldn't take her calls and from what she heard, he moved his entire family. Fin and Melinda did their best to keep her upbeat. They even became closer and were dating. "Liv, you aren't ok. You're going through the motions." Olivia focused on the job and with Munch set to retire she was promoted to Sergeant.
Cragen smiled, "I have a surprise for you." Olivia frowned, "I don't like surprises." She heard a familiar voice, "You better like this one." Olivia swung around to see her old friend standing there, "Alex!" Alexandra Cabot hugged her tight, "I figured I better come back and check on you. I'm sorry about Elliot." Olivia felt the tears coming, "Hey, let's grab lunch and catch up." They were sitting in the cafe talking. Alex explained she just had to get away after the whole witness protection. "I didn't want to be a lawyer."
Olivia was listening but she saw Amanda sitting in the corner. Alex noticed, "Who's she?" Olivia explained, "Some hot shot from Atlanta. She was in SVU and she was supposed to be Elliot's replacement, but she went with Crime Scene." Alex looked over and Amanda made eye contact with both of them. "That's weird. You think something's wrong don't you?" Olivia shrugged, "I don't know." Alex smiled, "There's something else huh? Do you like her?" Olivia rolled her eyes, "I don't even know her." Alex winked, "She's cute though."
Alex had to get back. Olivia walked over to Amanda, "I'm sorry about earlier. You probably think I'm a bitch." Amanda looked at her, "No Sergeant." Olivia smiled. She deserved that, "Can I sit?" Amanda shrugged, "Sure." Olivia looked at her plate, "A donut? That's not lunch." Amanda put her phone down and took a bite, "Well it's breakfast so, it's probably ok." Olivia watched her drink the soda next. She looked at her watch, "It's 12:30. What do you mean breakfast?"
Amanda looked up, "What are you my mother or something? I have one and she's not very good." Olivia understood that, "I get it. I had one that wasn't very good either." Amanda picked up her stuff and walked off. She threw her soda and half eaten donut in the trash. Olivia followed her, "You didn't even finish it." Amanda looked to cross the street, "I'm good." Olivia went back into the cafe and placed an order.
Amanda was in her office and it was quiet. She wasn't used to this. She liked the hustle and the adrenaline rush from cases. Now all of her victims were dead she had to do the talking for them. She heard a knock and it was Melinda, "This was delivered from downstairs for you." Melinda placed the paper bag on her desk, "Thanks." Amanda opened it and found a sandwich, chips, and a bottle of water. Then she read the note, "Since you didn't finish your breakfast, you may be hungry. Have lunch on me. Welcome to New York. Liv (Sergeant Olivia Benson).
Amanda smiled for the first time. She also ate her lunch. Amanda was working and everyone had gone home. "Did you eat your lunch at least?" Amanda smiled looking at the door. Olivia was leaning against the door. "I did. Thank you." Olivia asked, "Can I come in?" Amanda nodded, "Sure." Olivia crossed her legs, "Why not join SVU?" Amanda stopped working. She was a victim herself now and didn't think she could help other rape victims.
Olivia saw the pause, "It's ok. You don't have to tell me. I mean you don't know me and lunch doesn't automatically make us friends." Amanda sat back, "I guess I don't know if I can do the job the same." Olivia was smart, she was trying to read between the lines, something happened in Atlanta. No one just picks up, moves like that and changes everything they've known. "Well, Amanda Rollins, New York is a big place." Olivia grabbed some paper and a pen. She wrote down her address and phone number. "If you need anything or want anyone to talk to, I'm here." Amanda looked at it, "Thanks Liv." Olivia smiled leaving.
Olivia called Melinda when she got home, "What's her deal?" Melinda sighed, "Liv, why the interest?" Olivia shrugged, she didn't know, "She intrigues me that's for sure." Melinda laughed, "I don't know much. We really didn't have a spot, but she begged. Just said SVU wasn't her place anymore. And I've said too much. If you want to know, you need to talk to her." Olivia nodded, "Fair enough! Tell Fin I said goodnight."
