I was walking better as each day went by, but there were still very rare times that I would fall over and I was glad Miguel was there to help me. He was walking with me and he would either catch me when I started to trip over or help me get back up when he couldn't. He didn't mind as he always liked to help and this job we were doing was giving him a tour of Arendelle. The reason I would fall over was that for the last three months I had been turned into a mermaid and I had been so used to swimming in the sea for so long that when I got turned back into my normal human self I forgot how to walk again. But like I said, it was getting better as each day went by. And Miguel was a great help. He was better than using a walking stick and he was way more supportive, both mentally and physically.
Today was the day after yesterday when we and my family and friends arrived back in Arendelle. We had to leave because Prince Hans invaded it with a powerful army, but we got rescued by Miguel and his friends. We learnt that Prince Hans invading Arendelle was actually a just start in the grand scheme of plan to lure Miguel to re-join his god family and rule the world, but we managed to defeat them, save Miguel and the world. After those adventures, he decided to join me and the rest of Arendelle along with our friends such as the trolls and the Northuldra. When we docked, they headed back to their own homes. The leaders, Chief Pabble and Yelana, told us that they would be able to sort out themselves and, in a good way, I was glad they could because we Arendelle folk had a lot to clear up in our own kingdom. It had been three months since we evacuated the kingdom and we couldn't return until we solved the mystery of Miguel's family and save the world from them. My sister Queen Elsa requested that I go around and check with everyone that they were okay and their houses and businesses were okay. She would do it herself, but she was tied up with meetings with her advisers and dukes and duchesses and other important people.
The first thing I did was wake up in my mansion which wasn't too badly damaged and have breakfast. My daughter Princess Rika used her magic powers to grow vegetables and herbs while my husband Kristoff cooked them. Miguel joined us for breakfast as he slept in the stables with Sven last night and the night before. I couldn't offer him a room in my mansion because it was still going through repairs, but Miguel said he felt comfortable for sleeping the stables and he said Sven was great company.
Then I made sure my kids were ready for school while Kristoff and Sven left to do their ice delivery business. When Miguel and I dropped my kids off at the school, we started our job by checking it. It was the same as ever; there was no damage at all and that meant children could continue to learn. Before Miguel and I left, I told the headmistress how grateful I and the kingdom were to her for keeping the education going. Then we continued with the inspection around the kingdom.
By the time it was one o'clock, we stopped at a café for lunch. After a quick look around to check it and check with the staff that it was okay, which it was, we sat down at a table. We had covered more than half of Arendelle and so far it was better than I thought. Nobody had lost their jobs and they were still busy working, all the children were going to school and everyone's houses slightly damaged like broken windows or holes in the roof or a fallen chimney. No building was destroyed or unfit to sleep in. And even though the clock tower had few damages on the outside but could be fixed easily and quickly, it was still doing its job and properly too.
"I just wanted to say I really couldn't have done this without you, Miguel," I said to him. "So thank you."
"It's my pleasure, Anna," he said. "And I've had a proper tour of Arendelle and I love every bit of it. I'm really glad I've come here."
"If you don't mind me asking," I said, "does being here make you miss Spain? Or Kumandra? Or your island that's now New Motunui?"
"The only thing I miss from those places is being with my best friends Tulio, Chel, Benito and Altivo. But I'm still glad I came here. I just need some time, that's all."
"And the good thing is that your friends are only a kingdom away," I said. "You can go and visit them whenever you like."
Then we were served our delicious cups of teas and our delicious cheese and crest sandwiches.
"Have you seen any house for sale to your liking as we walked, Miguel?" I asked.
"Not yet," he replied. "I'm not even sure what job I could do, let alone notice if there's any available at all."
"Well, I'm sure we'll find you one," I said. "And you're very welcome to live with me and my family."
"Well if you're sure I'm not being a burden," he said.
I laughed. "Not at all. You are great company and my family and the whole of Arendelle love you."
Then it was time to continue the inspection of Arendelle. After I paid for lunch and leaving tip, Miguel and I left the café and continued to look around our kingdom.
It was half two when we approached Arendelle Castle, which was the last place to check. We saw lots of men repairing the roof, the windows and replacing the bricks among the many other jobs happening. By the time we reached it, we had covered the whole kingdom and it was the same as before. Everyone was still working and still had homes to live, eat and sleep in and there were just more buildings with broken windows, holes in the roof and fallen chimneys. We passed the church in Arendelle and the vicar told us how blessed Arendelle was to have contained no more damage than it did.
"Anna! Miguel!"
Miguel and I turned to see Olaf running towards us. He was coming for his warm hugs. He got picked up by Miguel who hugged him and then he gave him to me to hug.
"Saves you bending," he said.
I thought that was a good idea.
"Anna! Miguel!"
We all turned to see Elsa walking towards us. I gave Olaf back to Miguel and then I hugged my beloved older sister. Then she went to hug Miguel who hugged her back. Then she took us to the royal courtyard and used her powers to make couches out of ice. I sat down on the double one with Elsa while Miguel and Olaf sat in their own ice chairs.
Miguel looked a little bit uncomfortable after he sat down on his couch, but he kept smiling. "I'm sure I'll get used to it."
"How was your day?" Elsa asked me.
Then I told her everywhere Miguel and I have been today and how the kingdom of Arendelle was thriving and how much damage there were in Arendelle, which wasn't much.
"Thank you, Anna, Miguel," Elsa said. "You've all been helpful today."
"You're very welcome, Elsa," Miguel said.
"So how did it go with your meetings today, Elsa?" I asked.
Elsa sighed. "It was very stressful. All I got from everyone was what will happen if the kingdom doesn't continue to work and how much it will cost to repair damages for the kingdom if it was really serious."
"Well, hopefully, what we discovered will help you and them in your next meeting," I said.
"Hmm, hopefully," Elsa said doubtfully.
"And how was your day, Olaf?" Miguel asked. "How's the reconstruction going?"
Olaf told us his day of helping the builders fix the castle. He tried to help mix cement, but he kept getting mixed up in the mixture. He tried carrying bricks, but they were too heavy for him and he even broke his arms. He tried to make the builders drinks and sandwiches for lunch, but they found them not very delicious. He tried to clean up after the builders, but he kept getting confused at which was a mess and which wasn't.
"But, hey, at least I'm learning," Olaf said proudly.
That was one way of looking at it.
Then the bell tower rang. It was three o'clock. It was time to go and collect my kids from school. I thanked Elsa and Miguel for helping me up. Then Miguel and I said goodbye to Elsa and Olaf as we headed for the school.
"We might need to check the farms and the produce they make tomorrow, Miguel," I told him. "Are you all right with that?"
"Yeah, no problem," he said.
"Great," I said.
