Unavoidable Attraction

Kate groaned as the early morning sun hit her face. Why did she have to put her bed next to the window? The archer frowned as she rubbed her hand over her eyes and sat up slowly. She felt cold. And her body was sore.

The hell? One glance down and she realized she was naked. Ok, not that big of a deal. Then she heard a sigh from the other side of her bed. Her blood ran cold when she looked at the person sleeping next to her.

"Shit." There was Yelena Belova, face burred in a pillow, blonde hair flowing down her bare back, her slightly marked up naked back, "Shit. Fuck." Kate repeated. This was not good. Was it? No, she was in trouble for sure.

"Stop talking. Very early." Yelena's voice was muffled by the pillow but there was a roughness to her voice.

She slept with her. Kate slept with a Black Widow assassin. She slept with Yelena. The person who mere months before tried to kill one of her best friends, her mentor.

"Uh..." Kate couldn't think of anything good to say in this situation. Did she say good morning? Or should she just let Yelena sleep? Was cuddling ok?

Yelena sighed as she peaked at the archer. She groaned as she turned on her back, not at all shy about the fact that she was completely naked.

Boobs. Apparently they were Kate's weakness because her brain stopped working the moment she saw them.

"My eyes are up here, Kate Bishop. Although I have no issue with you staring but you might want to close your mouth before you start to drool." Yelena teased as a smirk spread across her face.

Kate was quick to avert her eyes to her lap, "Morning." She said clearing her throat.

Yelena chuckled, "Yes. Good morning indeed." Kate didn't say anything back, only kept stealing glances at the woman sharing her bed. God this was so awkward. How does she even approach this situation?

The feeling of Yelena running her hand down Kate's back made her shiver, "Um... So... Did you sleep well?"

"Very. You give nice cuddles. Very comfortable." Yelena smiled warmly, "Why don't you go shower, Kate Bishop. I will make breakfast." Before Kate could protest Yelena leaned in for a quick peck on the lips and swung herself off the bed, looking for a shirt to put on.

Kate was beyond confused. How could Yelena be so casual right now? Maybe it was a Widow thing? Being trained under pressure and all that. Slowly Kate grabbed some clean clothes and took a quick shower, unable to shake the feeling that Yelena might leave if she took too long.

When she got out of the shower she found Yelena sitting at the table, a stack of pancakes in front of her along with two warm mugs of coffee.

"Kate Bishop! Sit, eat, breakfast is important. My Daddy always said so." Yelena smiled as she picked up a few pancakes and cut into them, moaning at as she ate a piece, "Delicious."

Ok so this was really happening then. She's gonna have breakfast with her friend, who she slept with. Who she had a huge crush on for a while. But Yelena was right, the pancakes were delicious.

"You alright, Kate Bishop?" No, Kate was very nervous, and suspected that Yelena knew as much, "Was the sex not good?"

Kate chocked on the pancake, a crimson blush spreading all over her face, her ears burning.

"Alright, so sex was not the issue then. I would have taken offence if you had faked with me, I'm glad that was not the case." Yelena winked as she took another bite.

"How are you so calm? I'm freaking out here and you're just... eating." This was getting frustrating for the archer.

"Well..." Yelena pushed her plate away and leaned forward, her cheek resting in her palm, "I did work up quite an appetite. But I get what you're saying. I will not be around the bush, I like you quite a bit, Kate Bishop." Kate's eyes widened, "And last night was quite fun. I would not mind repeating it again."

"Repeating..." Kate's eyes zeroed in on Yelena's lips, "Wait, wait... you like me?"

"Very much so. I would not have had sex with you otherwise." Now that Kate thought about it, she never heard Yelena talk about anyone romantically. Kate told Yelena about the various men and women she got crushes on, yet Yelena never commented on her own love life. Kate respected that of course.

So hearing this confession now made Kate's heart soar. Oh wait, Yelena was waiting for a response. Kate had to say something. Anything. "Do you wanna go on a date?" Not smooth Bishop, not smooth at all. "I mean I know we're kinda doing this backwards but... I really wanna take you out on a date." Yelena already said she liked so, the way Kate saw it there was a very high chance of Yelena saying yes.

Instead of answering Yelena took another bite. And another, keeping eye contact with Kate all the while.

When she finally decided that Kate had done enough squirming, she gave an answer, "Yes."

Kate let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Yelena chuckled, saying something about Kate being adorable. Kate couldn't hear her, all she heard was the sound of her own heart, about to explode with joy. She had a date with Yelena.
