Legend had been to many theme parks over the years, but their magic had yet to relinquish its hold on him. It did not matter how familiar he'd become with their layout, or how many times he'd experienced the attractions. Being able to fly did little to diminish the rush of riding a rollercoaster.
He strolled through EPCOT, occasionally exchanging gentle words with the eight-year-old boy by his side. The shadow of a cloud paused over them, and Legend paused with it, to let Rory finish his ice cream cone in the shade.
Legend enjoyed the company of chatterboxes well enough, but there was something about the shy and retiring ones he related to so much. Despite being a star athlete, homecoming king, and lead of every spring play in high school, he'd been a quiet nerdy type himself.
Rory was so preoccupied gazing at Legend in wonder that he barely paid heed to his ice-cream dribbling down the waffle cone onto his hand. So wide-eyed, like he still couldn't believe he was here with one of the greatest superheroes in the world. He had to be poked to acknowledge the passing mascots trying to command his attention.
Legend smiled down at him and handed him a tissue to clean his sticky fingers.
Then he noticed that the shadow had not moved. He looked up.
This was no cloud.
This was a floating tour bus.
At the windows, sixteen tiny faces contorted in fear. Legend tensed, automatically springing into the air to rescue them. He stopped short.
Beneath the bus was Alexandria, effortlessly balancing it on her hands. She sought out Legend's dumbfounded stare and flexed, eliciting screams of terror from the children jolting around above her.
"They all wanted to go to Disney World," she shouted at him. "Wish granted!"
