Prologue

To those who have heard my story,

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune, must be in want of a wife.

Growing up I thought that I would marry a man of large fortune. I did eventually, but only after his brother died and my dear husband inherited the Fitzwilliam Fortune.

The above line was written into a story that was written about me. This is wrong. I, Elizabeth Bennet, was born a twin. My mother named her Eden, after feeling quite pleased with the garden outside. Hence, Garden of Eden. I have never met another Eden, probably why she is often written out of the story.

My darling sister has always faded into the background, even she married, she stayed shyly behind. Due to the fact that I was the more outspoken, more outgoing twin, I have always been thrust into Eden's role in the story.

But not anymore. This is the true story of what happened between Eden Bennet and Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.

-Elizabeth Fitzwilliam (neƩ Bennet)
