We are back with the next chapter of My Villain Academia. This story isn't getting as much of a following as I thought it would but maybe I'm just impatient. As I said before, this chapter will be another one that takes place in the past so I can explain the situation that Izuku is in better. The last time I left off, he had just passed out from his quirk manifesting in full and the stress of the day catching up with him. Let's see where that takes us.

Chapter 4: Unexpected events.

"Izuku?! Izuku?!" Inko yelled out in neat hysteria as she held her son in her arms. But past five minutes, he was unresponsive. "Baby please wake up, what's the matter?!" Inko cried as she realized that she should call the emergency services, mentally kicking herself for not doing it sooner, she quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket and started dialing before bringing the phone to her ear.

"Pick up….pick up!" She pleaded as she heard the phone dialing before someone on the other side picked up her call.

"Hello, this is 119, what is you-" The dispatcher on the phone started asking what was most likely the standard question but Inko was too frantic to care.

"My son just collapsed, I need an ambulance!" Inko yelled over the phone as she held Izuku close and constantly checked to see if he was still breathing.

"Mam, man? Please slow down, I can't understand you? What is the situation?" The dispatcher asked, showing that they either didn't care about her outburst or had been trained to handle such things as they calmly inquired more about the situation.

"My son! We were in the leaving room, then he started to freak out and started bleeding from his nose, the next thing he passed out and falls onto the floor!" Inko informed him as she fretted about her son, not knowing this kind of thing as she was a lawyer, not a doctor!

"What is your address mam?" The dispatcher asked her as Inko picked up the sound of them typing onto their computer, trying to get a pin on her location.

"Apartment complex D, 12th Sosuke Street, south side of town," Inko said as she repeated the address she had lived in for the past 16 years.

"Alright mam, we have your location. An ambulance is already on its way," The dispatcher replied to her as she hung up. Inko realized that she had forgotten to give them the apartment number so she quickly picked up her son, not realizing that she was lifting more than she normally could, and gently placed him onto the couch and made him as soon as possible with a pillow under her head. Captain instantly jumped onto the couch as he laid his head on the boy's leg and whined softly, sad that one of his owners was like this. Seeing that the dog was at least standing guard, she ran out the door, still in her house slippers as she raced for the sidewalk. Not even two minutes later, an ambulance pulled up to the apartment.

"Here, here!" Inko cried out to get their attention as the two paramedics jumped out the back of the ambulance with a stretcher, she got their attention and quickly led them up the stairs back towards her apartment where they jumped into action when they saw the kid on the couch.

"Mam, we'll take it from here," One of them said as they did a quick test on Izuku before loading him onto the stretcher and strapping him on to make sure he wouldn't move about as they got him down the stairs and back into the ambulance.

"Please help my son," Inko pleaded with them as she was escorted into the back of the vehicle alongside her boy as the last one shut the door and they started to drive off.

"We'll do everything we can for him, get us to the hospital, quick!" One of them said as they yelled forward at the driver as they turned on their siren to clear their way and allow them to run red lights.

"W-we have health insurance, are we going to the private hospital?" Inko asked. She hated that she sounded like a snob but she had seen a little too many medical dramas and that put the thought into her head that the public hospital would either be: underfunded; understaffed; overworked or some combination of the three. That and her along with her… distant husband did make good money so getting good health insurance for her and her son wasn't too hard.

"That would be the case, now mam, I'll need you to stand back and answer my questions as we work," One of them said as they attended to Izuku as they traveled along.

"O-of course." Inko managed to get out as she visibly worked to calm herself down through some breathing exercises.

"What is his name?" Was the first question as one pulled out a shortlist of questions to check 'yes', 'no' or 'not sure'.

"Izuku, Izuku Midoriya," Inko replied as that must have been one of the easier ones.

"Okay, does he have any prior incidents like this?" He asked her as the other checked the boy's breathing and heart rate, repeating this every 30 seconds or so.

"No," Inko replied as she had no knowledge of anything like this happening in the past. Added to the fact Izuku was a terrible liar and she was sure this was a first.

"Is he on some type of medication?" At that part, she didn't feel all that comfortable answering but with matters of her boy's health, she rather bite the bullet.

"Yes," Inko replied but keeping it short.

"Mam, what medication is he on?" The paramedic pushed, not sounding bossy but rather calm and understanding as she knew that some people were on embarrassing medications for all sorts of things, even some quirks needed medication to either function properly or for the drawbacks to not be an issue.

"I don't know the exact name but he is on pills for anxiety and depression," Inko relented as she and her son didn't like people finding out that he was on meds, it was hard enough for Izuku, the last thing he needed was for people to pity or mock him for that as well.

"Does he take the recommended amount?" The paramedic, not judging the two, went on as they filled in the part about the patient being on prescribed pills for anxiety and depression.

"Yes, he does. I hold onto the medication at home. I have the key for the cabinet right here," Inko said as she pulled out the keychain she always had on her, and on it, was the key to the medicine cabinet under her bed. She wasn't stupid, she was already aware that her son had bouts of suicidal thoughts and had seen enough crime and other dramas to know that overdose was a real cause of death. So she supervised all the medication in their little home to make sure he wouldn't be tempted by such.

"Okay, so unless he broke into it, that rules out some sort of overdose," The paramedic ruled out as the other found no evidence on the surface of such a cause such as labored breathing, slow heartbeat, abnormal eye dilation, etc.

"Does any of his friends have excess to such medications or over-the-counter drugs?" She asked as that could be a cause, children, especially teens were always finding new ways to get high or wasted. She never really understood it but then again, she did have her stupid teenage moments to recall.

"No," That was easy to answer. Izuku didn't have bad friends since that would mean he had friends, to begin with.

"Has he ever done drugs?" The paramedic asked as they could spot the hospital in the distance, they were close now.

"No," Inko shook her head as she had never noticed any of the common signs for substance abuse in her son.

"Has this ever happened in the past?" The paramedic asked her.

"No, he never collapsed like this," Inko replied as she had never had something like this happen.

"What's his blood type?" She was asked as they got ever closer to their destination.

"O," Inko replied.

"What's his quirk? This could be the kickback from overusing it. That happens a lot," The medical officer asked her as they reached the hospital.

"No, that's impossible," Inko shook her head as the ambulance pulled up to the emergency entrance.

"May I ask why?" The paramedic asked but before she could get an answer, the second one was already opening the door to an awaiting staff of hospital workers with a gurney.

"Alright, get him to room C22. The doctors are already waiting for him," One of the nurses said as they loaded Izuku onto the gurney and started wheeling him into the building. Inko followed them the entire way till they reached a point where one of the nurses stopped her from following them through a door that closed behind them.

"Mam, I'm sorry but we can't let you past this point," The nurse said as he held back the mother from trying to follow her son into a restricted part of the hospital.

"But my baby-" Inko started but the nurse cut her off.

"Mam, we're sorry but those are the rules. I can escort you to the waiting area," The nurse told her as he led her to the waiting area.

(Four days later)

"Hello, sweetie. How was your day?" Inko softly said as she walked into her son's hospital room. It wasn't much but it had a great view of the town here on the 8th floor of the hospital. Much like the other times she had visited, she received no answer from her son who continued to sleep, unaware of the world around him as he rested on the bed, attached to numerous machines monitoring his condition and supplying his body with the nutrients it needs. The odd thing was that they needed to connect three IV bags because, for some reason, his body was burning through them much faster than normal.

"Just wanted to check up on you, again," Inko said as she down in the seat next to the bed and took his warm hand into her own, this was one of the assurances she used to keep herself stable, the fact his hands weren't cold or clammy but still warm and inviting, much like he is, she refused to think 'was', he would come back to her.

"The weather outside is nice, maybe when you're better, we can go for a nice relaxing walk, or maybe have a picnic," Inko stated as much like always, she was the sole occupant of the conversation. Still, she liked to think that he could hear her, in his dreams. It was better than sitting here with the only other sound being the machines he was hooked up to.

"I called the school, I'll be pulling you out of there. You nee-deserve better and going there is just not for you," Inko informed him as she had made the call the previous day. This was too far, too much for her to take. Before she struggled with the notion of pulling him out as there were no other schools in the area that would take him, especially with his false record, she also couldn't afford to home-school since she had her job that she couldn't just quit. But after this, screw it. She'll make sure he will be as far away from all that as possible, that includes the Bakugo's.

To be frank, she was angry….and disappointed. Angry that Katsuki turned out to be such a monster and in his role in this mess. In denying her son his dream to become a hero. Disappointed in her old friend who had failed to reign in her son. She knew she cared but the fact of the matter was that she failed in rising Katsuki into a responsible boy. Now with all said and done, he was on track to getting into UA no problem despite having such behavior while Izuku...can't.

She wanted to get back at him, to spite him to make him feel like what Izuku was feeling at that moment. She wanted to call them, demand that Katsuki be punished for this….but what would that accomplish in the end? Would it clear her son of all wrongdoing in the eyes of the school board? Would it heal the wounds? Would it bring back the son she once knew? All of the above questions had the same answer. No.

So in the end, she chose this current path of calling her old friend, informing her of the situation, and telling her that she was breaking contact with them, that they were moving to try and get a fresh start in life. Of course, Mitsuki wasn't for this, quite the opposite but Inko was as firm as a rock in her choice. They were leaving Musutafu behind. With her plans worked out, they were leaving Japan altogether.

"I know that you're healing but," Inko started as she took a deep breath. "I hope that you are having really good dreams. Hanging out with All Might and all your favorite heroes,"

"That would be a great thing," Someone spoke up out of the blue, getting a jump out of the mother as she turned around and saw that one of the doctors, a man that looked so tired, you would think he had worked the nightshift and hadn't gone home yet.

"Doctor," Inko worded as out as the man gave her a friendly smile and a nod as he approached Izuku's bed and took the chart that was hanging at the foot of the bed.

"Afternoon, Mrs. Midoriya. Here to visit again?" The doctor said as he looked through the boy's chart for any changes that may have happened since he last checked upon him.

"Yes, I wanted to see him for myself. It's…cold going home to an empty apartment," Inko stated. She hated going back to an empty apartment. Sure her boy was never loud or energetic, at least not anymore but she could at least take comfort in the knowledge that he was there, that he felt safe at home, felt happy.

"Well, I'm single so I don't know what that feels like, still you have my condolences," The doctor said as he was a single man in his late 30s, he didn't have a lover or girlfriend so he was quite used to going home to an empty house.

"Thank you," Inko replied as she looked down at her feet, nervous about something. "Is there, is there anything new in his condition?" She asked him as they had insisted that he stay for an extended stay so that they could monitor him.

"That's what I wanted to call you about, as you know, we have been monitoring his vitals ever since he arrived, including his brain activity and this is his current chart." The doctor showed her the chart he had been looking at which showed Izuku's brainwaves. But as she knew nothing of the science, she couldn't make heads or tails about what she was seeing.

"I don't understand it," Inko told the guy honestly.

"Reasonable but here is the chart of a normal person who is in a coma or unconscious for long periods," He showed her another one with brain activity significantly lower than her son's. "And this is the sheet of the average teen male his age." He showed her another and though the activity was higher than the first, it was still far below that of Izuku's at present.

"It's much larger than both of them," Inko observed as she was concerned and confused by that. It was like the first one was jogging, the second one was running and Izuku's was riding a motorcycle.

"70% larger in fact. We didn't know what to make of it but seeing how your quirk is a weak telekinesis type, we did a full check-up and can say this is the result of his quirk." The doctor explained to her that it was common for mental-based quirks to result in higher brain activity in those who had them. He suspected that Inko's brainwaves were higher than the norm as is.

"His quirk?" Now Inko was confused. Her son didn't have a quirk.

"That's correct, his quirk seems to be a mind-based one or at least, has a heavy effect on the mind. We'll have to wait until his wakes before we can conduct more tests to understand what we're dealing with." The doctor informed her.

"But I don't understand, the doctor said that he was quirkless," Inko replied to him as she had taken him to see a specialist when he was five, they found no evidence of a quirk and he hadn't ever shown signs of one since. Certainly not one close to either her own or his fathers.

"How did they tell?" The doctor asked, though he already had the answer in mind.

"He checked the bones in his foot," Inko replied as the specialist had used the pinkie-toe joint method.

"And found that he still has the pinkie tow joint? Well, that is certainly a method of testing but in my professional opinion, it's on the dumber side of things," The doctor told her, being blunt in his opinions on such a testing method.

"What do you mean?" Inko asked. She had gone through the same when she was young and it was right then.

"Mam, the fact of the matter is that 30% of people with quirks still have the joint that is the so-called marker for quirklessness, so said a study out of Oxford a couple of years back. The only assured way to test for quirks is to look into the family history of the person in question and conduct a quirk gene test." The doctor informed her that the pinkie toe test was one conducted and published back in the early days of quirks when people didn't know what to make of them. But after years of study, they now knew about the 'quirk gene', its genetic markers, and where to find it in the subject.

"Quirk test? You mean like a blood test?" Inko asked him, wondering if this could be a quirk, after all these years.

"Something like that. They conduct a small test with the patient's spinal fluid to see if they can find the quick gene within the sample. If the gene is present then the patient does have some sort of quirk. We haven't done the test yet but as his legal guardian, you can sign off of such so we can be sure," The doctor informed her that they couldn't just perform any test they wanted, not without consent from the patient or their guardian, hence why he was bringing this up with her.

"You mean there's a chance he has a quirk? After all these years?" Inko asked the doctor, wondering if this was some dream or a sick joke, she never knew that there were other methods.

"Yes, but we won't know for sure until we do a quirk test." The doctor told her that he couldn't simply say that yes, the boy has a quirk, even if he wanted to ease her he knew that saying such without any backing was asking for trouble.

"Alright, but don't hurt him," Inko agreed to it as he handed her a small release form for her to sign so that they had evidence to fall back on in case things went south.

"Don't worry mam, we inject a mild painkiller into the patient so they don't feel a thing, it wears off in about 20 minutes." The doctor said as he took the signed form and gave her a farewell as he left to prepare everything they'll need for this. Inko herself stuck around for some time, hanging around her son and speaking with him about the world outside these four walls before she too had to leave when visitor hours ended.

(The next day)

"The results are in," The next day, the two adults were in the same room once more as the doctor held the paper which held the results of the test printed on it.

"And?" Inko asked him, having found herself more eager for this than she would have thought.

"Your boy does indeed have the quirk gene. Added to the fact that it's been five days since we came in, I can theorize that this extended state of sleep is connected to his quirk. My best guess is that his mind and body are slowing adapting to his new power, whatever it is." The doctor told her as he showed her the results and how they had found normal levels of the quirk gene in his spinal fluid. However, before they could carry on with their little discussion, they both heard the third occupant of the room try to speak.

"Wh-" Izuku sounded out as he sounded confused and tired while his voice came out rough.

"Izuku, sweetie!" Quick as lightning, she was at his bedside, holding onto his hand as the boy woke up from a close to a week-long coma.

"Mo-" Izuku tried to say as he looked towards her but rather coughed hard as his throat was no doubt parched from disuse for five days. Seeing this, the doctor handed the mother a cup of water he had gotten from the corner which had some cabinets and a sink.

"Here, this will help," He gave the mother a kind smile as she took the cup and helped her son in drinking the soothing liquid. Once that was done, the boy seemed to come out of it enough to realize where he was.

"Mom, why are we in a hospital?" Izuku asked after he finished drinking the water and his mother helped him up on the bed.

"Sweetie, you passed out in the living room. I didn't know what to do so I called the ambulance," Inko told him as she gave him a one-handed hug as he stiffen at the mention that he passed out for some reason. How he must have worried the heck out his mother with that stunt.

"Oh, why did that happen? How long have I been here?" Izuku asked as his mind hadn't yet woken up so he had no clue as to why he was that little meltdown in the first place.

"Young man, you have been here for almost five full days." The doctor spoke up from his position behind Inko, giving the small family their own space.

"Five days?! Arg!" Izuku yelled back in shock before it all came crashing down and he recalled just about everything that happened that day and the events leading up to it in perfect detail.

"Izuku!" Inko called out to him as the boy was in visible distress, the machines that were still monitoring him went off the charts as the one monitoring brainwave activity picked up like a rocket.

"I…I'm fine. It's just….it's just all coming back to me, is all." Izuku said to calm the two of them down as he got past the worst of it. He was starting to hate his perfect memory, but he did pick up that he could recall things that he didn't before. Things from his past that by all accounts, shouldn't have been remembered or at least forgotten by now.

"Everything?" The doctor asked him as most patients would have some difficulty remembering such for at least some time.

"Everything. Is that why I'm still here, for observation?" Izuku asked him as he looked around at the place and his bedside. Hooked to his arms were tubes and when he reached for his head, he could feel some rubbery substance, like a swimmer's cap over his head. He couldn't feel his hair so he hoped that they didn't shave him first. Hooked up to the cap were more wires leading into the bed frame itself.

"Partly. My boy. Do you know why you had your little attack?" The doctor asked him as he picked up the chart and his pen to take observations into account.

"I had just gotten some bad news and wasn't handling it okay," Izuku reasoned as he knew that bad news could put someone out if enough of a shock can be caused. Though he had only seen such on his mother's dramas when someone gives elderly women bad news. He didn't know what to feel about that since he fainted like a fictional old woman, he wasn't the most macho guy out there, far from it but dammit, that hurt his pride.

"Partly. Your quirk awoke for the first time," The doctor revealed to him, seeing no need to dance around the subject.

"My quirk?" Izuku repeated, wide-eyed as both adults would have expected from him given the situation.

"Yes. We did the test and found that you do indeed have the quirk gene. We believe that you were asleep for this long because your body and mind were adapting to this," The doctor told him since that was their best reason as to why he was asleep for so long despite not having any notable issue that could cause such.

"How does it feel, Izuku?" Inko asked him as she turned to face her son who looked both confused and sad at the news. "To finally have your quirk?"

"It feels….gloomy," Izuku replied, telling her his honest opinion as he felt conflicted about this. On the one hand, he finally had the one thing that others held against him for years but on the other, the price he had to pay to get it seemed far too high.

"I can see how that can your opinion. Most kids don't have near mental breakdowns activating their quirks, they just…happen," The doctor said in agreement with him as it did seem unfair that he had to go through something so painful for something others just have. "But then again, a recent study found that though 20% don't have quirks per se, as many as 9% do have the quirk gene."

"Then why don't they have quirks?" Inko asked as she was quickly learning more about quirks at the moment than she had known previously.

"Because in their cases, their quirks have activation requirements that at inhumane or terrifying. This was found out when an illegal medical study was carried out in China a couple of years back. Using unwilling prisoners, they found out that you could force a quirk activation in these people through some method of physical, mental, or physiological trauma," The doctor told them to which they both showed their disgust at such an experiment. He felt the same way too when he first heard about it.

"Like my breakdown," Izuku stated as he realized that his breakdown would fall under the physiological trauma department as he recalled just about every bad thing life had thrown his way in that instant. Such an experience was not something he would any to relive anytime soon.

"Yes, you needed to go through like that to get your quirk, you can imagine why most of the scientific community is against such a practice as basically torturing the young in the hopes that they'll activate their quirk before they die or go insane in a horrific practice," The doctor told them with a deadpan face as he believed that if someone doesn't activate their quirk naturally, then they shouldn't have to torture themselves to get one. You can lead a perfectly normal life without some super-power. Heck, he became a doctor when his quirk just allows him to numb the sensation of touch in a person's feet.

"I agree with that doctor. Such a thing is just…barbaric," Inko agreed with him as she would never want her son or anyone really, to go through that, even if he would get a quirk in the end.

"As for Izuku here, we would like to keep here so that we can try and identify and study his newfound quirk. Would that be alright with you two?" The doctor asked as they knew next to nothing about his quirk and that, by law needed to be changed in the national registry.

"Not like I got a social life to look forward to. No skin off my back," Izuku said to the two of them, getting a wince from them as they could only imagine that he wasn't lying about that.

"As long as Izuku is okay with it." Inko agreed with him but gave her condition to the testing.

"Alright, but first. Why don't you get you some food?" The man said as he pointed towards Izuku, who at that same moment, felt his stomach rumble for food, embarrassing the boy as the man left to go see what he could find in the cafeteria for him.

(Later)

And that was what they did for three straight days. Izuku was first allowed a meal and some rest with his mother while the hospital prepped an area for him to test his quirk. They didn't know what it could be but going by his family history, they set up a wide area that was fireproof so that he could go full out. At first, they tried to have him use some form of telekinesis on both objects and other items such as water, ice, the air, even a fire that had been made for him to try and bend it to his will. When that was a bust, they tried seeing if he could use some type of emitter style quirk similar to his father but found that was a dead-end as well.

They were at a deadlock when they noticed that his mind, more accurately his memory, was much stronger than was normal as he could perfectly recall their faces, their words, and where they were standing throughout the entire day. They then gave him some memory tests and he aced every single one of them. They thought his recent memory had improved but then he rattled off about something that had happened before his quirk activating, he talked about a day he spent with his mother….when he was 2. Most wouldn't have memories of such times and according to Inko, he described the day perfectly, even remembering things she had forgotten.

From there, they were able to speculate that his mind drastically changed itself in the five days he was asleep. While the normal person's brain would forget or 'delete' memories that it deemed unimportant overtime to make space for new memories, his mind appeared to not have that function. Normally such a thing would mean that he couldn't take in any more memories once his memory banks filled up but it seemed that his memory capacity was….off the charts. From what they could observe and based on research down on mental quirks that increased things such as intelligence, thought processing, and problem-solving skills, his memory storage limits were at least 20 times that of the average human. Meaning that he'll remember just about every single detail of everything he'll ever see, hear, touch, smell, taste, and learn for the rest of his life.

Another thing they observed while Izuku stayed in the hospital was that Izuku was capable of mimicking just about anything he had seen done before. This came up when while on break in-between sessions, Izuku, and some other patients were watching some news show which discussed heroes and their effect on society. In one clip, the played back a video of Midnight in battle, now this was before she changed her costume so while most of them either ogled or looked away, Izuku observed her movements, her stance, her hand's position on the whip, and how she used it. He didn't know why but he felt compelled to do the same so he asked for the belt of one of the patients who were prepared to check out, who agreed and gave the boy her belt.

They and the rest of them were in for a shock when Izuku, scene by scene, copied Midnight's attacks as if he had trained under her. Of course, this led to more tests as it takes more than good memory to pull off such a feat. They played him clips of just about everything they could, from a man playing a game of solitaire, a gymnast's performance, a soldier disassembling her rifle and putting it back together, a man moving a stone underneath four cups, martial artists, even various clips of pro heroes in action. He was able to mimic all of them with but one or two viewings of their actions. He wasn't however able to mimic their quirks so they were able to conclude that alongside his flawless, seemingly limitless memory, his body was also able to seemingly take in new information and perform it with ease.

This led to even more tests when the doctors wondered how in the hell his body and mind could keep up with such information dumps without lag as even if he had a larger memory, it should take longer for him to recall a certain memory since he had so many of them, much like how a librarian couldn't just tell you off the top of their heads the exact location, position, and self of a book in their library. With his body, there were reasons why someone had to train and practice a movement over and over again yet he didn't have that limitation. He proved that when he was given gymnastic equipment and after watching a clip of an Olympic-level gymnast go through a training course for about 10 minutes, he was able to completely replicate that performance with no visible flaws to his form.

From their tests and observations, they concluded that not only did his mind operate at a rate that was at least six times that of the average human but it was more efficient as well. When it came down to his body, they discovered that his nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones were much stronger than the norm and from what they could observe, had the potential to only grow better than that of any normal human. With training, he could have the physical body that had all the traits of the best Olympians in their respective fields of the pre-quirk era. This was also visible seeing how despite only being 13, he already had the muscles mass and bones density of a person closer to 18.

In the end, he spent three days in that hospital before they were satisfied with what they got from the test. They let him go telling him that the only way his quirk will grow is if he trains with it and nurtures its development like one would any muscle. It was odd that when it came time to update his documents from his outdated 'quirkless' status to include his newfound quirk, his mother let him pick the name of it seeing he was old enough to make a responsible choice and it was his ability after all. So, drawing upon all that he knew about his quirk and his love for old American movies, he chose a name he thought suited him best.

"Are you sure about the name, Izuku?" Inko asked as the two sat in the back of the cab that was driving them back to their apartment. Izuku was wearing a different set of clothes than the ones he had arrived in, courtesy of his mother but he still felt kinda odd. Must have been knowing that he had a quirk and could make use of it.

"Yeah, I think that it works. It fits just what my quirk is all about." Izuku replied as he had thought about it and rather than taking the first name that popped to mind, that name being 'Super Mind', he instead chose one that was not only fitting but was something that sounded unique.

"Still, I don't think I've ever met anybody with a quick with a name close to 'Skynet'. Why did you pick it anyway?" Inko asked as she was just as confused as the doctors when he said that was the name he would take.

"You recall those old movies you said I was too young to watch? The ones with the robots from the future." Izuku asked her as once upon a time, Inko had a whole case of cassettes and DVDs of these really old movies.

"So you did watch them!" Inko replied, blushing hard in embarrassment and parental anger as she never allowed him to watch such things. She watched them when she was younger but she by no means was okay with her son, who wasn't even 16 yet, watching such violence.

"Only a little! I didn't even have time to finish the second one before you got rid of them." Izuku tried to defend himself as the cab driver just laughed to himself when he heard this. It was only odd listening in to people's issues whenever he drove them anywhere.

"Well good thing I did, those movies had far too much violence," Inko said as she had gotten rid of them since she had no use for them and they were taking up space. She had sold them to a local collector for a good price too.

"But weren't you the one who bought them?" Izuku asked as she recalled her talking with aunt Mitsuki about how she had purchased them when she moved out of her parent's house and didn't have cable or wifi yet and needed some form of entertainment. Speaking of which, when was the last time he spoke with his grandparents? It had been a while.

"Moving on, Izuku, when we get home, we'll finish packing up everything," Inko told him as she looked outside at the afternoon sun as it started to set.

"Packing up?" Izuku asked her. He didn't recall anything about packing up.

"Yes, everything we're not taking with us will be put into storage and sold at a later date," Inko told him as she was planning on selling most of their furniture, they weren't going to need where they were going anyway.

"Wait, wait. Why are we selling our stuff? Are we tight on money? I thought the insurance would cover the hospital bills? Did I run up that high a bill?" Izuku rapidly as his mind jumped to the worst possible conclusion of his hospital bills being so high that she had to sell everything they owned. But before he could any deeper down that rabbit hole, Inko took his hands into her own and grabbed his attention.

"Izuku. We are not tight on money. The insurance covered everything and don't you think for a second I wouldn't have spent that kind of money for you." Inko made sure that she was as straight as she could be to make sure to calm his mind before he got some strange idea in her head. She paused to draw her breath before she told him the bombshell she had been withholding this whole time. "I've been packing up our things because we are moving."

"To where? A new apartment?" Izuku asked her, though he found it weird that she was selling their furniture. If it was a new place, did it mean that it was already furnished? He didn't know she wanted to move in the first place, she always liked their apartment and their neighbors.

"We're moving in with your father, in Milan," Inko told him, breaking, no shattering the ice with that one as even the cab driver was surprised by it. Immigrating wasn't a decision one made on a whim, not unless you were super-rich and could afford it.

"What?" Izuku finally rebooted as he took in that bombshell of a statement.

"We're are leaving Japan. I was able to secure a job in the same city where your father works." She told him, looking visibly upset as they both knew that the topic of Hisashi wasn't a fun one, he had been gone for the past 5 years as he worked for some multi-national banking conglomerate. "You need a fresh start, Izuku. One away from all….this," She said as she gestured out the window the world around them. It may have been pretty but both of them knew that this place had been far from kind to the boy.

"But don't you and Hisashi…" Izuku started as he didn't have the right words to say about the relationship between his parents. He could honestly say that he was raised by a single mother as his memories of his father were old, like very old. The last time he had seen the man was when he was 7. He had come for his birthday but just the birthday and was gone the next day. From what he was able to piece together over the years, the two of them had always had this long-distance relationship as he got this job that required him to travel a lot so he was rarely home. This used to work in the past as the two would frequently call or write to one another and often would leave him with the Bakugo's whenever Hisashi was in town so that they could have their alone time.

The problems arose when he was officially diagnosed as quirkless. He wasn't in the room at the time but from what he could pick up from his room as his mother informed him of this, he didn't take it well, to say the least. He didn't know at the time that the world 'bitch' is a very bad word as he called her that and suggested she was unfaithful since his family had no history of quirklessness, or so he said. Heated words were exchanged and afterward, they didn't speak for a full 6 months before things cooled off and they began to communicate again. Things seemed to be getting better, he apologized, spent a full summer at home, and even spent time with Izuku.

But as they say, if it's too good to be true, then it is.

You see, like Hisashi, Masaru Bakugo, Katsuki's father also traveled, only far less than Izuku's father. One time when he was 8, Masaru had to take a short business trip to Paris for the fashion company he works at. As he had some free time, he decided to tour the city and take pictures, and buy souvenirs for the family. Imagine his surprise when he spotted his fellow father, Hisashi at a café. He didn't know why the man was in France as he didn't really know where he had gone off to so he didn't think too much about it. He did however call see types of red flags when he saw him with another, younger woman. Now, being the calm man he was, he didn't jump to conclusions and tried to think about why this could be but that was thrown out the window when he saw the two of them kiss.

He confronted the man and from what he was able to make out from his mother angered, betrayed, and tearful conversation with Mitsuki over the phone. Things got heated between the two as Masaru demanded to know what the hell was going on. Hisashi gave him useless excuses and pleas for his silence but the man wouldn't stand it. The first thing he did when he got back to his hotel was informed his wife about this as he didn't have Inko's number. Imagine his surprise when he was told that Hisashi was supposed to be in Manchester like he told his family. It wasn't long before Inko found out that her husband was cheating on her.

That was the moment he lost all respect or love for the man as his mother was already putting on weight from the stress of motherhood among other things. Finding out her husband was fooling around with younger women was a blow to her self-confidence and it took her a while to get over it. Hisashi came home when he was at school but was dumb enough to not only do so but unfortunate enough that the Bakugo's were visiting her to try and help her through it. He may have never seen it but that was the only time he ever heard of Masaru losing his shit even worse than his wife. They whaled on him in ways that his elderly neighbors said sounded like the wrath of two angry demons.

Long story short, they were separated but still legally married, only because Hisashi was too much of a coward to own up to his weakness and return to Japan so that they could finalize the divorce.

"We're aren't getting back together if that's what you mean. We'll only live with him long enough for me to find us a new home. God only knows how much I can't stand that gutless man," Inko replied as she was as looking forward to seeing that dirtbag as Katsuki was pleasant. Still, she would stand him long enough to start up a new life for her and her son. "But will you do, Izuku?" She asked to change the subject from her shitty love life.

"Me?" Izuku asked with a raised eyebrow. What about him.

"When we get there, you'll be enrolled into a new middle school. One where can have a chance to start over. Will you tell people about this?" Inko asked, referring to the fact he now had a quirk and the records to prove it. Izuku took her words into account and started to really think about them before he came to his conclusion.

"No, I don't think I will. I want people to like me for me, not because I have some quirk. People like that are never truly your friends. If I can find people who can accept me for who I man, without knowing about my quirk, that'll be great but I can't. I'll show them that I'm stronger than that. I'm done being the punching bag." Izuku, in a rare moment of bravery and confidence, declared to his mother. He despised the fact that people were judged by their quirks, he wanted to prove that he was better than that. And that meant keeping his quirk close to his chest lest he makes friends that end up like the lackeys Katsuki often had with him.

"That's my boy. You have my support, sweetie. 100% of the way." Inko said as she gave him a hug, proud that even after all this, even though he was still hurting, he was determined to prove them all wrong.

(Later – At their apartment)

"I've packed up most everything in the kitchen and the living room. All that's left are the bedrooms and the bathroom, oh, also the closet." Inko said as she opened the door to their apartment and revealed that like she had said, most of their stuff was either already packed or wrapped in bubble wrap. The living room itself was pretty bare as the rug, couch, and TV was already gone.

"It feels….kinda empty. I spent my whole life here and now, I'm leaving it behind." Izuku said as he took off his shoes and put on his house slippers and entered the apartment, feeling a wave of nostalgia as he recalled the good memories he had made her. This place was his safe space. At least they still had Captain as he ran up to the duo and happily greeted them, being excited that Izuku was back.

"We'll always have the memories but people need to grow. And that means moving on." Inko said as she came to stand right to her boy as he gave the family dog a belly rub as a way of saying 'I'm back'. Like him, she shared some of his sentiments as she had raised her child in this apartment. Cooked all their meals, played all their games, sang all the lullabies. She would never forget the happy memories she had made here.

"Yeah, I'll get started on packing up my room if that's okay," Izuku said as he have his mother a quick hug before heading down the hall towards his room.

"Of course, I'll get started in the bathroom. The moving van will be here tomorrow morning. We'll leave for Tokyo after that." Inko reminded him as she had booked an early flight to Rome. From there, they'll stay the night before taking a train to the town where her bastard of her 'husband' works.

"Okay, and mom?" Izuku said from the door to his room. "I love you." He gave her a tired, scared but most importantly, an honest smile as he felt nothing but gratefulness for her. Hearing this, Inko had to wipe away a tear from her own eye as she faced him.

"I love you too, sweetie," Inko told him as the boy walked into his room and closed the door. Looking around at everything, he didn't know what to feel as his room was a fan-made shrine to All Might. From his curtains to his sheets, just about everything was All Might merchandise in some way. Eight days ago, he would have loved seeing all this but now, after finally meeting the man, he had mixed feelings. He didn't hate him, he didn't think he could ever hate the man after all the good he had done. Even when he had been told by him that he couldn't achieve his dreams, there was a part of him that understood where the man was coming from.

On the other hand, he so desperately wanted to hear that yes, that 'Yes you can!' From the man but instead, he got a cold taste of reality. Now, whenever, he looked at all this, he didn't feel the giddy fan-boy happiness but rather he felt….tired. He could see that he needed to make some serious changes, starting with getting rid of most of this stuff before he drove himself into a dark place he didn't want to go.

'Out with the old,' Izuku thought to himself as he started to take down all the posters. 'In with the new. I could always sell some of this stuff. There are bound to be more heroes in Italy, right?' he thought to himself as he hoped that he'll find another pro in Italy he could look up to. He didn't follow European affairs but they must have some great pros that could become his new idol, right?

Right?

And that is where I'll be stopping that chapter. I hope you liked that little backstory as to what his quirk is. With the name, it took me a while because I wanted to use something close to 'Machine Learning' but I didn't want to come across as a copycat. The second choice was Scenario Adaption but that was too boring and implies that he can adapt/evolve to any new situation, which isn't true as while his body has much more potential than any normal human's it does have limits. Photographic Reflexes also didn't cut it as that only goes so far as physical feats. The final name came about for one reason, Deathstroke. As you might have noticed that like Slade Wilson, he can think much faster than a normal human but unlike Slade who can think nine times faster, he can only think six times faster. The reasoning behind it was that if his mind can store that much knowledge, he'll need to be able to think faster to make use of it as we all have seen how slow older computers can be when opening folders with a shit tone of documents.

Anyway, back to the name of the quirk. I chose it because I recently found out that earlier comics with Deathstroke had him called 'Deathstroke the Terminator' which DC changed since four years into his existence, the first Terminator movie came out and they didn't want confusion about the two. As Izuku's mind basically works like a supercomputer, naming his quirk after the artificial super-intelligence that is the antagonist for the Terminator series just seemed to fit. This is why that even when asleep, his mind is very much active-more so than the standard human like you or me.

When it comes to demonstrations of his skills, I kept it close to what Taskmaster saw and performed as a child with the cow-boy thing but seeing how many pros rely mainly on their quirks, I was pressed for which one I could use. Midnight seemed like a good belt as, like the cowboy, she uses a whip. Eraser is underground so footage of him would be very scarce and most likely shitty in quality. Snipe uses a gun and not only are those super hard to get in Japan, but you can also imagine that no sane person would hand over their firearm to a child so even if the guards at hospitals carry them, they'll say no if Izuku asked for it.

The relationship between Inko and Hisashi is tense, to say the least, I don't have any intentions of redeeming Hisashi in this story as though I know that couples can work past such things, not this one. Like other stories on this site, Hisashi is an asshole. Also, if you're wondering how he got from England to France without incurring a notable fee for travel, remember the tunnel that connects the two countries, he could rent a car in either country and drive to the other no problem.

Now, reviews:

Commardbattl: If the two ever met in the capacity of hero and villain, you can bet Bakugo would be in for a nasty surprise.

NazgulBelserion: There are reasons for why they chose Shiketsu and why they think they can pull it off without anyone being the wiser, but those reasons and plot points will become clear in future chapters.
