No one knew that with an ammunition search on the ruins of the most incredible ship that had ever existed, they would find a light at the end of the tunnel. They would find creatures that would end up being their friends. It all started with:

"Shh, hey, you see that?" whispered a survivor to another.

"See what? Stop nudging me!" the other survivor whispered.

They both looked at each other in a despising manner while the shadow grew larger and larger until it caught their attention. Master Chief and Cortana went on the hunt on the ship's backside, whereas these two survivors were on the left wing. The other group of survivors were entrusted to look at the top wing, the remains and the storage unit of the ship that had crashed into pieces. Keyes made his way towards the right wing alone.

Both the survivors on the left-wing glanced towards the shadow and couldn't believe what they saw. Animals; they hadn't seen animals or a variety of them for a long, long time - it was as though they forgot animals even existed. The first one to come through was a Panda, with a white body and black spots all over, followed by a walking Tigress with a tiny praying Mantis on her shoulders. She looked fierce and was covered in orange skin with stripes on each side of her body. Behind her came a black-necked Crane with a hat on his head and a green tree Viper rolled up on his hat. From the other side of the tigress crept in a yellow-skinned Monkey with a curled tail. Gradually they started assembling in a horizontal line and grunted as soon as they saw the two survivors, who let out a scream for help in terror.

Immediately there was a face-off; Master Chief and Cortana rushed towards the left wing, wondering what went wrong, given the crash should have decreased the number of Covenant forces on the land. The crash was so ruthless that no one could possibly survive that landing being present inside the ship. The other survivors also heard the cry for help and sprinted to the scene.

It started with both the survivors facing the panda first; they struggled to hold their rifles right because they were stunned to see animals for the first time in so long; they were talking and standing on two feet. Aiming the rifles straight at the animals made them more violent and hesitant because they knew the gesture was to kill. Po and Tigress instantly switched to their fight mode, jumped from the wing onto the survivors, and separated them from the guns. Both parties started fighting one on one with each other until the remaining three animals joined and entirely strangled both of them.

While this scenario was going on, Master Chief and the other survivors reached the critical area and were equally stunned; upon orders, they surrounded the five with rifles in each of their hands and Cortana's built-in machine gun; the Five were forced to surrender.

The survivors captured the Five and kept them under custody at the escape ship where the survivors landed. That whole area was marked as the survivor's territory because it's where their ammunition, food and sleeping arrangements were made to stay safe from the Covenant. The Five's faces were covered with masks to seal their identities and maintain the secrecy of the place humans were living in, but once they reached, all blindfolds were taken off for questioning.

"Who are you, and why the hell can you talk?" asked Master Chief as he sat down, pulling out the Panda's blindfold.

"Hey, hey! We don't mean any kind of danger here; we just saw y'all hanging with guns and got that instant reflex; know what I'm talking about? Yeah! See, we don't have anything against you guys, and it's just the Covenant that make us and our lives miserable, and it's been going on for a while…."

"Po means we were going to kill you if it wasn't for the number of guns you had," interrupted Tigress.

"Woah, Woah, hey Tigress, calm down, that's… that's not why we're here, I mean, maybe I should do the talking." Po continued.

Amid this conversation, Master Chief stood up and pointed the rifle at Po's head-clearing up his voice; he said, "I don't have time for this. Tell me where you came from and what you're doing here right now, or else I'll have no choice but to empty by gun in the bold brain of yours."

"Woah now, okay, okay, I'll tell you. We all lived in the Valley of Peace, in the country of China on Earth. I was chosen as the Dragon Warrior, and this is my team. That's Tigress, Viper, Monkey, that's Crane and Mantis should be here around somewhere, he's just so tiny, I can barely see him sometimes." Po said as he pointed toward his team.

"I'm right in front of you, Po!" said Mantis disappointedly.

"Oh! See, right here, that's Mantis. Hi Mantis!" greeted Po.

"So what brings you on Halo?" repeated Master Chief.

'Well… it's," continued Po.

"The Covenant. They ruined our Valley, killed everyone, and no justice was given, no explanation. Everyone in our Valley died for nothing, and we're here to finish them off; we couldn't save our people, so we are here to lessen the guilt. The regret." Tigress cut Po's sentence to speak her truth, which followed a weird silence in the room.

"We know humans are after the Covenant like we are; we know some keys to fighting them, but we need your help to get through the Flood to end this. You can trust us." Continued Tigress.

"Why would I trust you?" Master Chief replied as he let out a sigh.

"Because you need help, and you need people. We have the same goal, and if we work together, I assure you, we'll get through it. The rule of the Covenant will end, and we will all finally be able to breathe without fear or terror that our remaining families are in danger." Tigress said in a persuasive voice.

Master Chief stood and walked out of the camp with Cortana. While contemplating whether or not to let the Five go, he came across a thought that started to bother him. Keyes. Keyes had the sharpest hearing sense out of all of them, but why didn't he show up at the scene? His position was the closest to the critical area, yet all the other survivors, including Cortana and himself, came to answer the cry for help, and he didn't. Master Chief sensed something was wrong, and his instincts were right.

He forgot about the Five for a minute, called his fellow survivors outside and expressed his concern regarding the absence of the Captain, and that's when everyone noticed for the first time that Keyes was missing.

"I say the Five are responsible for this; they created a distraction and took away Keyes!" A survivor projected. While others started agreeing with him, Master Chief called them in again and told them to keep this quiet until they could locate Keyes. Master Chief called on a few other survivors and went back towards the ship where Keyes was initially posted.

After miles and miles, they finally reached the ship. The same wreck with fires igniting from the ruptured machines. Drops of oil and water were drained from the ship. They managed to get inside the ship and stopped when suddenly they heard a voice.

It was coming from the technical room of the ship, where there was a screen showing Keyes all handcuffed and blindfolded in the custody of the Covenant forces. It was showing on the screen because before the shipwreck, one of the technicians had given Keyes an unnoticeable camera that he had created. This camera was directly connected to the ship's security programming features. All he had to do was activate it and hide it somewhere for the clip to be broadcast on the ship's security television screen, which, fortunately, he managed to do so.

Master Chief rutted out in anger and frustration. Keyes had been captured by the Covenant when they were on the outlook to find ammunition on the ruins of the ship. Chief couldn't think straight, the Covenant forces are millions in number and the survivors, including him, counted to 17 - 18. They didn't have enough manpower, and victory seemed impossible except for one way. The Five.

"We have to get Keyes back; we need the Five to fight with us. We're going back!" Master Chief announced.

"No, do you think we can trust them? They don't seem right. And we just met them; what if they are working with the Covenant?" some of the survivors questioned.

"What choice do we have?!? The Covenant forces have Keyes, and we're nothing without him. You saw how the Five were fighting. They're something. They have power, and they can handle all of them without weapons at the same time. Imagine the power they will hold if we hand them guns." Master Chief explained.

"Let's go back and talk to them; they surrendered because we aren't their enemies; we can use them as a weapon for us. We need them to help us get Keyes so we can destroy the rule of the Covenant." Chief further elaborated.

The team walked back to the camps and approached the Five, who were blindfolded and were arguing with each other over who made the best Kung Pao chicken. Chief hemmed loudly to make them aware of his visit and grabbed a chair to sit down. He ordered some survivors to take each of their blindfolds off and explained the Five the entire situations. Where they are from, how they got here, the shipwreck, the lost souls, their beef with the Covenant and everything they need to know about Keyes.

With a number of questions back and forth, the Master Chief finally broke his silence and asked them whether they would help him get back Keyes and end the Covenant once and for all.

The Five looked at each other and finally gave their verdict. "We will help you get back Captain Keyes and end the Covenant!" said Po.

Master Chief ordered a fellow survivor to take off their handcuffs and put forth his hand, calling out a greeting. They both shook hands, and the Cheif said, "Welcome to the team, Furious Five!"
