Chapter 19

Monica entered Liz's room. "The CT results were normal."

Jason stood. "So, she can go?"

"Yes. For the next four hours, the hospital records will show she was moved to a regular room, so Ric will look there."

"Good. That's plenty of time."

"We'll have to closely monitor her blood pressure and the baby."

He nodded.

"Edward said the house is being stocked with food right now and there will be staff there when we arrive."

"Tell him that I said, thanks."

"I will. Lila sends her love as well."

"I'll call her after we're settled."

"They are preparing the master suite for her as we speak. Edward said she should have the best view."

"I agree."

"There's a couch in there if you'd prefer to stay with her." She has a feeling that Jason won't leave Elizabeth's side.

He nodded.

"Alright, Alan is signing the discharge paperwork and then we just have to put her on a transport bed and get her on the helicopter. There is a bed on the plane, so she'll be comfortable. Sonny arranged for everything."

"I'll feel better when we land."

"I agree."

He smirked. "You just want a tropical vacation."

She winked. "You got me. I'll see you on the roof."

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Ric made some last-minute arrangements before confronting the woman he has come to hate. His dalliance with Faith has cost him way too much.

She is pushed into the room, and when she spotted him, she smiled. When the men had come to the house, she thought she had been caught by Jason and Sonny. The whole way over, she was trying to figure out who she can throw under the bus for the kidnapping, and the man standing in front of her came to mind.

"You could have just called."

He didn't move, just watched as she moved closer.

"Please don't tell me that you are mad at me for disappearing."

A chair is placed behind her, and she is shoved onto it before the man leaves them alone.

"Well, that wasn't nice." She looked around. "Where am I?"

"One of Sonny's safehouses. It's decommissioned for repairs."

"And you have a key?"

"I know people." A good computer person is rare, but he found one. It had cost him a fortune, but the surveillance video is being looped, and all the police will see when they get a warrant is someone around Jason's height in all black wearing a mask.

Her eyes narrowed. "Why are you wearing gloves?"

Ric took a deep breath. "I know what you did."

"What? I didn't use your credit card to shop."

His jaw tightened. It sickens him that he ever screwed her. She is a viper and now, she needs to pay.

"You took Elizabeth and you not only tried to get her rapist freed, but you used his words to torture her."

"I have no idea—"

"Shut up!"

She slightly jumped.

"You just couldn't help yourself, could you? You had to take matters into your own hands. Well, now you pay."

"Ric…"

He pulled out a gun making her eyes widen.

"Please, we can fix this misunderstanding."

"Was it a misunderstanding when you made her almost lose her child—again—which she still could be doing right now?"

Faith rolled her eyes. "You won't shoot me."

He laughed. "You think you suck my dick that well? There are plenty of women who can replace that big mouth of yours. I should have never renewed our partnership. You're a fucking lunatic. It ends today. You're going to die by my hand and Jason Morgan is going to take the fall for it. Elizabeth will mourn him, and I will beg her forgiveness."

"Why do you want that little waif anyway? I just don't get it. She looks like a drip in bed."

"She's better than you."

"I highly doubt that."

"When the nice girl is a little dirty, it's hot. You were just a warm hole."

She abruptly stood. "Shut up! God! How did I ever put up with you simpering over that pale, useless waste of space all this time? Do you realize how weak she makes you?" She is shaking with anger. "I hate her! She has ruined you and even knowing that Jason Morgan is fucking her, you still want her back? You're an idiot."

He couldn't help it and smacked her so hard she stumbled backward.

She is stunned and touches her mouth. "I can't believe you hit me."

"I'm going to do more than that. I wish I could torture you like you deserve, but I don't have time. As soon as I get the sign, I'm pulling the trigger."

Two men forced her down onto the chair again.

As she stared at the man she thought was under her control, she shook her head. Having to die by his hand, of all people, is inconceivable. Somehow, she needs to talk him out of it. At this point, she'll do anything so she can return the favor and watch the life drain out of him.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Jason carried Elizabeth onto the plane and laid her on the bed. Monica is right behind him and checked everything to make sure it is still secured. Liz is still on a saline drip and has a catheter. Her pressure is a little high, but the baby is still stable.

He took a seat on a small chair in the corner and watched Monica and Audrey fuss over Liz.

"May I sit with her?" Monica asked.

Audrey nodded. "I'll go take my seat."

"Thank you."

Monica got comfortable on the bed and then gazed at her son. "I know it's only a couple of hours, but you should try to sleep."

Jason nodded and then closed his eyes. He doubts that he'll be able to, but he'll try.

As they taxied out, she couldn't look away. He looks so peaceful. God, she wishes she could hold him. He never asks for anything, but after all, he had been through, she wishes she could take away some of his burdens. While she knows nothing about the business, no one should underestimate the power of a mother's hug and love. Her attention went to Elizabeth who looks like an angel. Hopefully, she'll wake up tomorrow so that Jason will calm down a bit. A person can only take so much before their body breaks down. As they lifted into the air, she finally took a deep breath. Now, the healing can begin.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Ric cursed under his breath. They had shut the electricity off in the area to try and draw Jason out, but they can't find him anywhere. No matter, since he'll have no proof that he was at the hospital due to the outage, he'll be a suspect. Even though there may be witnesses to place him there at one point, there will be conflicting statements that will allow for doubt and that's all he needs.

With the gun extended as Faith got on her knees and begged for her life, it was odd how heavy it felt. It's not as if he's used to waving them around, but he figures Jason probably has a lot of muscle memory and it doesn't bother him at all.

Aiming at the space between her eyes he said, "Goodbye, bitch," before slightly inhaling and pulling the trigger.

Her head snapped back as the force of the bullet burrowed into her and then went out the other side, making her body slump forward and fall.

He eyed her for a long moment and then said, "Wipe the place down."

"You got it, boss."

Ric carefully avoided the blood and made his way to the door. The police will get an anonymous tip in about an hour, and he can't wait to see the look on Taggert's face when they discover who owns the property. Jason will be away from Elizabeth by the evening, and he'll finally get to see his wife.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

The plane ride wasn't too bad. Jason did sleep for about an hour. When he woke up, Audrey had taken Monica's place.

"We're about to land."

He sat forward. "She still okay?"

"Yes." Watching him sleep had led to some interesting inner dialogue. You would never guess that there was anything different about him when his eyes are closed and he's peaceful. The minute they snapped open, the weight of the situation settled on his shoulders and a mask went up as the tension in his body rose. How anyone can live their life like that she doesn't understand.

He rubbed his face.

"Hopefully, once you are convinced the security is adequate, and that she will be okay, you will truly allow yourself to get more rest."

His gaze softened. "I'll try."

"Of course, I will throw some fabulous meals in to help as well."

"I'm looking forward to it."

"Good. I want to be in the room next to her."

"I believe you are, and my mom is across the hall."

"And you?"

"For now, I'm on the couch in her room."

They had a staredown while he waited to see what she'd say. There is no way anyone is prying him away from that room.

It was all Audrey could do to keep her composure. "If I object, will I be sleeping with fishes?"

His eyes betrayed him, even though he struggled not to show his amusement. "That might be a little extreme. I could just lock you in your room."

She clucked her tongue. "Do I need to call Lila?"

"No, no… She doesn't play."

Audrey finally gave in and chuckled. "Now that I know that I can use her to keep you in line, you're in trouble."

He sighed. "You won't tell anyone, right?"

"I won't ruin your reputation if you promise to take care of yourself."

"You drive a hard bargain."

"I know you are used to taking care of everyone else, but sometimes, you have to put yourself first. Getting sick is not going to help her."

"Okay."

Monica smirked in the hallway and then went back to her seat, something Jason heard.

"I think my mom was listening."

Audrey smiled. "Probably… I would have been."

He finally smiled. "I didn't realize I'd be in such trouble bringing you both along."

"Never underestimate women."

Francis grinned. "I've tried to tell him that."

Jason's attention went to his friend. "What's going on?"

"Nothing, we're landing in ten minutes."

"Okay."

He can't wait to get there and get Elizabeth settled.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Taggert pushed the door to the house open and flicked on a light. "Damn…"

An officer started to move around him but is stopped.

"This is a crime scene. Call Mac and tell him that Faith Roscoe is dead." He made some calls to get a team out there. It's on the outskirts of town, so it will take a while. He scanned the room and then looked to the left and noted the bullet hole in the wall and let out a slow whistle. When they had gotten the call, he was bored and decided to tag along. Things had been quiet lately, so a dead body wasn't something he was expecting to find. "I wonder who you pissed off." He carefully unwrapped a piece of gum and popped it into his mouth. God, please let it be Morgan. While he is aware that the younger man had mostly been at General Hospital, it's awful convenient that the blood is still fresh and there had been a blackout. He can't help but think that maybe Jason had used it to sneak out and do the deed and then return. If Faith was the one who took Elizabeth, the enforcer would want revenge. The only doubt he has is the convenience and sloppiness. Maybe they figured they'd have time to deal with it in the evening. "Brian?"

"Yeah?"

"Make a call and find out who owns this house."

"Will do…"

"If it belongs to Corinthos, then Jason Morgan is in a world of trouble."

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Once the plane landed, they got into a helicopter. Francis came with them, and Cody stayed with the luggage. They'll also have more private security as well that will mainly be on boats on the water to do surveillance. However, Francis had called three men he had worked with before and they will be on the island providing protection.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Audrey took a deep breath. It's beautiful there and Elizabeth will love the fresh air and the water. There is a covered deck outside the bedroom with a beautiful view of the water. She had been surprised to find an easel sitting there which Jason had arranged for. He had overnighted paints, canvas, and whatever else Elizabeth would need to relax. One thing is for sure, the man still has feelings for her granddaughter. He rarely takes his eyes off her and the level of caring is otherworldly. Whatever doubt she had about Jason and his job had gone out the window. Elizabeth deserves to be spoiled, and the man currently sitting on a chair holding her hand and whispering, is up for the task.

"What are you thinking?" Monica asked curiously.

"I think I'm on team Jason and Liz."

Monica grinned. "Welcome aboard."

Audrey chuckled. "Now, we need to get them out of their heads and into their hearts."

"I have a plan."

"Now, you're talking—spill."

"Take a walk with me?"

Audrey nodded and followed her to the grass and then a path that led to a small beach. This is going to be good.

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

Jason practically inhaled his food. He didn't want to leave Elizabeth too long in case she woke up.

"Jason, slow down," Audrey said, "She's fine."

"Sorry…"

Monica chuckled.

"It's good."

Audrey shook her head. "Did you actually taste it?"

He grinned and then stood and rinsed his plate in the sink.

"Just leave it in there. I'll take care of it."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"At least he ate something," Monica said as he disappeared.

"True…"

"I thought she'd be awake by now."

"I think it will be soon."

"I hope so."

IiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIiIi

As Jason stepped into the room. Elizabeth jerked into a sitting position, groaning as she touched her stomach. He moved, and her head jerked, and both were still.

"Jason…" she whispered realizing that she was not in the basement. Tears pricked her eyes and then, she held up her arms and he ran forward before sitting in front of her and gently engulfing her.

"You found me."

"I always will."

"I was so scared."

"The baby is okay."

She burst into tears as he rocked her.

Monica had heard, so they had rushed into the room as well.

Once she had calmed, he gently laid her on the pillows and the women moved forward.

"Grams…"

"Hello. We're happy that you're awake."

Elizabeth wearily looked around the room as the sunset illuminated it. "Where am I?"

"I bought you to Bermuda to recover," Jason said.

She is confused. "Wow."

Audrey smiled. "Rest, you are safe now."

Liz mumbled something and fell back asleep.

"That went well," Monica said.

"She cried," Jason said like he was in pain.

Audrey put her hand on his shoulder. "Get used to it. She needs to let it all out."

He sighed. "I don't like it when she cries."

Monica rubbed his back. "All we can do is be there for her. It's a process."

He nodded. "You think she'll sleep all night?"

"Yes. Go meet with Francis and then get some rest. If you don't, I swear to God, I will drug you."

Jason's head tilted. "You'd drug your son?"

"And I'd help her."

He shook his head. "Women…"

They grinned as he disappeared into the hallway and then shook hands.

"You'll probably need a tranquilizer gun. You think Francis could get one?"

Jason, who is still in the hallway, smirked before moving on.

"I'm sure he could," Monica said.

"Do they have some kind of weapons are us store?"

Monica chuckled. "I have no idea. Maybe we can get him drunk, and he'll tell us."

That gave Audrey the giggles. "I can't even imagine him drunk."

"He's still quiet and likes to fight."

Audrey rolled her eyes. "I was hoping you'd say he's loud and dances on tables."

Monica cracked up. "Thanks for the visual. We'll have to remember to tell Elizabeth about this conversation."

"She'll love it."
