Ten Years later…

"Soo…how was the party Elena?" her mother asks.

"It was ok, Mom." She replies without tearing her eyes off from the view outside the car window.

It is already heavily pouring outside, which means the road will be slippery.

"If it was ok sweetheart, how come you want to go home early?" her father inquires while he shoots her a look of query through the rearview mirror of the car.

"Because the party isn't really my scene, Dad." She looks up to meet her father's gaze. "You both know that I prefer to stay at home and I wouldn't have gone to the party if I wasn't invited at all."

"You could have refused Elena," her mother states.

"I didn't want to ruin Bonnie's and Caroline's enjoyment by not going to the party. They already expected too much of me as a friend,"

"That's good of you darling, but I am sure your friends would have understood if you didn't go at all," her father told her.

"Yes, but -"

"No, buts Elena. You should follow what you really want instead of following the dictates of your friends. They wouldn't really be your friends at all if they won't accept what you want, now is it?" her mother reasoned.

Elena doesn't say anything else and simply stares at her parents. The rain has become heavier that her father has trouble seeing through the windshield and the windshield wipers. The visibility is also low due to the creeping fog.

There is a moment of silence where Elena's father continues to drive through the persistent rain while her mother suddenly turns on the radio to fill the silence with music.

Elena sits on the back seat while she observes her mother trying to find the right station to listen to.

As she looks at her mother, Elena suddenly freezes when she is bombarded by a vision.

She sees a vision of a redheaded girl sitting on the backseat of a car like her in that moment.

"Can you change the station?" the girl asks the woman, who is driving the car.

"When the song's over, honey.." the woman says as she glances at the little girl through the rearview mirror.

"You said that two songs ago," the little girl remarks, pouting.

"You know this is a classic, right?" the man, who can only be the father of the girl, comments from the passenger's seat.

"Ok, how about I make you a promise? When you are old enough to drive, you can listen to whatever music you want. Hmn? Is that a deal?" the woman, who must be the mother, tells the little girl.

The redheaded girl continues to pout and all of a sudden the radio changes station without anyone touching it.

"John?" the woman asks, glancing at the man beside her with a puzzled look on her face.

"Wasn't me," the man responds, looking back at the woman in confusion as well.

"Jean, was that?...Did you?" the woman looks back at the little girl through the rearview mirror.

"I didn't do anything," the girl mumbles, looking downwards at her lap.

A moment later, the woman leans forward to change the station again while she continues to drive.

Once more, the station changes multiple times without someone touching the dials.

"Jean, what are you…" the woman glances back at the little girl again with a frown on her face.

"I - I don't know. It's not me," the girl denies and shakes her head.

A few seconds later, the radio station changes rapidly.

As Elena watches the vision progress, she suddenly has a bad feeling when the girl closes her eyes and starts mumbling, "Quiet." over and over again.

When the radio abruptly increases its volume on its own, the girl has had enough and yells, "Quiet!" which results in the woman, who is driving, to lose consciousness while the man on the passenger seat tries to grab the wheel to prevent the car from crashing into another car on the opposite lane.

However, it is far too late for the man to swerve the car and the car crashes into a truck within moments. The windshield breaks and the car flips end over end. Meanwhile, Elena watches as the broken glasses are stopped mid-air by an invisible force, which prevents them from piercing the little girl on the back seat. At the same time, the girl remains hanging upside down in the backseat of the car.

Then, there is only complete silence while the man and woman hang bleeding and unmoving from the front seats of their destroyed car.

The vision ends without warning and Elena lets out a gasp of shock when she returns back to the present.

The sound of the radio assaults her hearing and Elena can't help but snap out without thinking, "Turn the radio off!"

"Elena? What's wrong honey?"

She hears her mother ask worriedly.

"I said to turn the radio off!" she repeats through gritted teeth.

Not a moment later, Elena winces as she also begins to hear voices in her head that sounded like her parents.

What's wrong with her? The female voice says while the male voice asks, Why does she want the radio off? Is the radio too loud?

All of a sudden the radio turns off by itself.

She watches as both Miranda and Grayson Gilbert glances at each other in pure shock and back at the now silent radio.

"Elena, did you just - ?" her father looks back at her as he ask.

Then, suddenly there is a loud screeching sound as the car loses traction on the slippery road.

Already distressed from the vision she sees, Elena becomes alarmed as her father loses control of the car.

They are already right on top of the Wickery Bridge and Elena slowly watches in growing horror when the car crashes through the wooden bridge and straight into the river below.

The car plunges into the frigid water and Elena can only observe as the water swiftly rises up and swallows them whole.

With adrenaline running through her veins, Elena acts on instinct and something inside her bursts into the surface.

Ultimate power fills her entire body while she can only hear the silence in her mind.

She is driven by pure instinct alone and the fear of losing her parents again made her do the impossible.

With only her willpower, Elena wills the car to move out of the water and back to safety. She observes as the water hurriedly retreats back into the river while the car slowly lifts itself up and back into the bridge, where it settles down onto the flooded road once more.

Just as the car lands into a stable surface, Elena is instantly flooded by thoughts and emotions coming from her terrified parents.

What just happened? We crashed and fell into the water…and now we are back on the bridge again! How is that even possible?! Her mother is currently thinking while Elena notes the way her mother stares at the raging river below in shock.

Meanwhile, her father is still gripping the steering wheel while his mind races, This is a miracle! We are saved! But how?!

"Are you both alright?" Elena asks her parents in concern as she frees herself from her seatbelt to get a better look at both of her parents.

Her parents must have heard her because they both turned around to assess her as well.

Elena notes the way her parents freeze when they look at her.

"Elena, your skin and eyes…" her mother's voice trails off as she gazes at Elena in obvious wonder and terror.

"They are glowing honey," her father remarks as he stares at her.

Elena glances down at her arms and notes the way some kind of fiery, electrical charges overtakes parts of her skin.

She can feel power thrumming through her veins and wonders what this all means for her in the future.

"Did you just - just save us Elena?" Her mother whispers faintly.

Elena meets her mother's eyes and responds, "I don't know Mom….I think I just did…"
