Chapter 33
Emily quietly got changed for bed. While she is glad that Liz is back, she was devastated to hear about Sam's loss, knowing how badly it would affect her. Maybe Carly will finally pay for her path of destruction in Port Charles.
"What's going on in that head of yours?"
She moved toward him. "Sam… It's just so sad."
"I know. Jason said it was brutal. Sonny isn't doing too well either." The guard had reported that the man wouldn't even answer him, not that Johnny can blame him.
"I'm not sure what to do. Should we send flowers?"
"Let me find out later. I'm sure Sonny will want to have a funeral. Maybe there is a charity Sam would want us to use."
"Okay."
He smiled when she skirted around him and climbed into his bed. "You think you can just get into my bed and there will be no consequences?"
She grinned. "There better be. I could use a spanking."
His eyes grow darker. "Oh, I'll spank you alright." He jumped onto the bed as she laughed as he tickled her until she begged for mercy.
Once she calmed, she gazed into his eyes. "What are you thinking?"
"That I want to make love to you."
She held her breath.
"But I just want to wait a little longer."
"To make sure?"
He shook his head. "No. Is it stupid that I want you to love me?"
Her eyes pricked with tears. "I didn't think you'd be so romantic."
"I'm not always, but I just think we could have something very good."
"I agree."
"Good." He got up to go use the bathroom.
"Johnny?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm already on my way."
His eyes lit up. "Me too…"
When the door closed, she sat up. Nikolas needs to be dealt with soon because she doesn't want it to ruin what she is starting with Johnny. It's like a dark cloud above them. With Jason home, maybe Johnny will finally agree to her plan.

Jason moved behind Liz and protectively put his arm around her belly. "This okay?"
"Yes." He not only keeps her warm in this position, but she loves feeling his energy.
"Good, because I have a feeling that I'm going to pass out any minute and then you won't be able to move."
She chuckled. "I'll be right there with you." They know that if she moves a lot, he'll wake up anyway, which is more frequent lately because of her bladder working overtime.
"I forgot to ask you what the doctor said."
"We're fine. My blood pressure was slightly elevated, but nothing to worry about currently. She wants me to try to keep my stress levels down. My weight is fine and if anything shows up in the bloodwork, she'll let me know."
"How did she look?"
Liz slightly smiled. "I have a picture in my purse. I'll show you in the morning, but she is getting big."
"It's amazing."
"Soon, she can gaze into your eyes and own you."
He grinned. "I'm looking forward to that, but you do it every day."
She sighed, not answering because sometimes, he overwhelms her.
"Was that okay to say?"
"Yes. I just—people say things all the time and it's just words, but when you say it because you usually say more with your eyes, it just means a lot."
"I mean what I say to you."
"I know. I've always appreciated that. Face it, Morgan, you are a romantic at heart."
"I don't see it."
She chuckled. "Maybe that makes it even more special. Romance isn't always about giving gifts are being overly demonstrative. Sometimes, a few words spoken from the heart, are enough to make women swoon."
"Is that right?"
"Yup. Don't pretend you don't know you're a playa."
"Me?"
"Yup, mister Jake's stud of the month."
He laughed. "That was a long time ago."
"Sometimes, people get better with age."
He retreated and then shifted her onto her back. "You don't age though."
She cracked up. "Again, with the words."
"I want to kiss you."
"I won't stop you. These lips are yours if you want them."
"Always…"
As he stared into her blue orbs, he moved closer before capturing her lips and mating them with his. After a few gentle kisses, his tongue skirted out and she moaned as it lashed out. As he invaded her mouth, she embraced him to pull him closer, and this time he is the one who moaned. After a few minutes, Jason retreated because his body was already reacting.
She blinked a few times. "Why did you stop?"
"Because—it's hard to explain."
"Try…"
She is still touching him, and he can barely think, so he grabbed her arms and held them next to her head—turning her on more without realizing it.
"When you touch me—it is almost too much, but I don't want you to stop."
His body is slightly pressed against her side, and she can feel his hardness, so she knows exactly how he feels.
"I'm scared of moving too fast."
"Me too, but Jason?"
"Yeah."
"I'm in my third trimester."
"I'm aware of that."
She grinned. "Well, um, it kind of makes me you know—want—"
He groaned as he flopped onto his back and her laughter rang out as she turned and pushed up on her elbow.
His eyes pressed together so hard, that it left wrinkles on his forehead.
"What are you doing?"
"Counting."
Her eyes swept down his body to his bulge just as his flickered open and he groaned as he grew bigger.
"It's hard to believe that we've never had sex."
"You need to stop talking and go to sleep."
She tore her gaze away and then met his.
"Have you ever initiated sex before?" he asked.
"Yes. I have a past, but I'm not thinking about that when I'm with someone I love."
"Maybe we should set some ground rules though."
"I'm listening."
He moved onto his side to face her as she got comfortable.
"I know you hate it when I say things like it's your choice, but this needs to be. As you saw, I'll be ready when you are. Until then, we can make out and see where it goes."
"Okay, but you know I'm pregnant, right?"
He smirked as his attention went to her belly. "I kind of figured that."
She lightly smacked his arm. "You know what I mean."
"Actually, I don't, and I don't want to assume."
"Thank you. I meant that my body is different, and we'll have to adapt to that."
"Okay. Is this about what's comfortable?"
"Mainly… Some positions aren't as doable." Her face turned red, intriguing him.
"Then you can teach me."
She nodded. "Are you honestly ready emotionally?"
"I think so. I mean—wanting you is not a problem. I just want this to be more than sex."
"It already is, Jason. What we are developing is beautiful. It's so nice feeling so safe talking to you and knowing that we're here for each other. It reminds me of when things were more innocent between us. I missed that."
When she looks like she wants to say more, he encourages her. "I'm listening."
"It's just that the people in the past don't compare. I don't need to have sex to tell me that. I think we knew we could have something epic, but weren't ready for it. Now, it just feels so right."
"I know. That's why I don't want to mess it up. You deserve so much more than what I can offer, but I can't give you up."
Her fingers skirted across his cheek, making him close his eyes as he relished it.
"Did you ever stop to think that maybe we're perfect for each other? I mean, we've been through so much, Jason. Maybe we complete each other."
"I would like that."
"Me too."
When she yawned, he made a motion so that she'd return to her original position, since he has himself under control.
"Sleep, Elizabeth."
"Goodnight."

Sam had slept through the night, but when she awoke, the realization of what happened hit her like a freight train, and she sobbed, making them give her a light sedative to calm her.
Sonny is beyond stressed. Suppose she can't overcome this? Carly is still AWOL which upsets him further. While he normally would want to handle this himself, he wonders if they should involve the police. Sighing, he decided to let it be Sam's choice. He has no idea where her head is at, but knowing her, she'll want revenge and he doesn't have it in him to tell her no.
He knocked on the door in front of him, hoping he can hold it together.
It suddenly swung open, and Alice greeted him.
"Hello, Mr. Corinthos. The boys are having breakfast. Follow me."
After he nodded, she led him to the dining room.
"Dad!" Michael yelled before jumping up.
He hugged him warmly before going over to Morgan who has his hands lifted. "Hey, little man."
He bounced in Sonny's arms.
"He's all fed," Monica said.
Sonny grinned at Morgan's excitement before turning his gaze toward her. "Thank you. I can never repay you."
"We consider them a part of this family," Edward said. Despite his dislike for the man, he feels that Carly manipulated a lot of the situation and Sonny just wanted to stick it to them because of Jason.
Sonny is not sure how to reply, but he needs them. "It's hard right now and I appreciate it that you stepped in, especially since things haven't been good between us."
"While we never will agree on some things, I think we can agree that the boys need their families more than ever. Morgan is Michael's brother, so he's just as welcome," Alan said. Those children shouldn't have to suffer because of their selfish mother.
"I won't keep them from you. I get it. After what she did, I agree." He doesn't want to say too much in front of Michael.
"How is Sam?"
Sonny shook his head, unable to even speak.
"I'm going to the hospital soon. I can check on her," Monica said.
"That would be nice. She took it hard."
"Don't worry about the boys. She needs you now. You can come to see them whenever you want, and we have a bedroom you can use. Are they keeping her another night?"
"Yes."
"Then when she wants alone time, you can come to see them. They talk about you a lot."
That made him happy.
"And Michael thinks Jason is cool."
Michael perked up. "He is the best uncle ever."
"He's the only one you have," Sonny said.
"That's beside the point, dad."
Lila smiled. "Sonny, it's good to see you. The boys are delightful."
Sonny grinned. "You look well."
"I feel great."
"Great grandmom gave me a ride."
Sonny eyed Michael. "She did."
He nodded vigorously.
"I'm surprised he hasn't tried to steal it."
Lila giggled. "Oh, I don't think he knows how to make it go, but it doesn't go fast. Alice can catch him."
"I apologize in advance for anything he does." Seeing them had calmed him.
Monica grinned. "Apology accepted, for now." She's aware of his shenanigans. Emily had called.
Sonny chuckled.
"Sit and eat, please," Lila said. "I know you think you're not hungry, but your body needs fuel."
Unable to turn her down, he sheepishly joined them, surprised that they are being so welcoming. While the family has serious issues, he gets why Jason doesn't completely cut them off. Family has a way of healing something you didn't realize was affecting you. He hasn't had that in a long time. While he understands this is a truce, he hopes for the boy's sake that the Q's don't screw up and remain an ally.

First, Jason entered Sam's room. "Hi."
She cleared her throat, fighting tears. "Thank you for saving me."
He moved closer. "You fought, that saved you."
She almost smirked. "That was a typical Jason answer."
He shrugged.
"I'm not good company right now."
"I'm glad that you're going to be okay."
"I just—I hate her, Jason."
He nodded.
"I don't want to report it."
He sat on a chair next to the bed. "Sam…"
She held up her hand. "If you're going to try and stop me, then leave. I need to hurt her like she hurt me."
"I get it, but if you're caught."
"I won't be. I know how to handle myself."
"You're emotional right now and that can lead to mistakes."
"I need to grieve my baby, but I won't ruin this. I know I need to be smart. I'm just asking that you don't try to stop me."
"I can't let you do it by yourself. Can you let me try to find her?"
"You'll do whatever you want and so will I. I'm not asking your permission."
"I know that," he said a little more harshly than intended. "I just don't want you to ruin your life over her. Please don't shut me out."
"I'll think about it."
Liz entered the room. "Hi."
Sam's eyes settled on Liz's belly and then on what is in her hand. "Chocolate?"
"Sort of. I make the best brownies."
Jason vacated the seat. "I'll be in the hallway."
She handed the container to Sam. "That seemed tense."
Sam grabbed a brownie. "Holy shit, this is good."
"Thanks."
After putting the tin aside, and wiping her mouth, Sam's attention landed on Liz. "I want to go after Carly."
"I understand."
"Jason doesn't want me to do anything stupid."
"Neither do I. Seriously, I don't want to have to visit you in jail."
"I can take care of myself."
"You've proven that, but sometimes, it's good to have friends and people who care about you."
She sighed as her eyes welled. "Everything is so different now. It's like the color went out of my world and I don't know how to get it back."
"It will take time."
"I remember, you lost a baby too."
"I did, but it was different too. What you went through, it was brutal."
Sam wiped some tears away.
"Is it hard that you have to see me?"
Sam shut her eyes. "A little, but I need you to have a healthy baby. One of us has to get what they want, or I won't have faith in anything anymore."
"If some days are harder and you can't, I won't be offended, but I'd like to be a friend. Emily feels the same."
"I appreciate that. The nurses told me she called."
Sam felt the medicine release. "I hate drugs," she said as her eyes closed.
Liz got up and squeezed her hand. "Rest, I'll check on you later."
