Chapter 2: The Valley of Peace

Though walking took a few hours, the Turtles, still wearing their disguises, soon found themselves standing at the top of a tall hill that overlooked a large village below in the wide valley. And at the far end of the town, up at the top of a tall mountain was a large Chinese temple palace, much like the temple of Kintaro's order.

"So, this is the Valley of Peace." Leo observed.

"Seems pretty nice." Donnie added. "Very… well, peaceful looking."

"As long as there's good pizza, I'm all for it." Mikey said, making his brothers roll their eyes.

"So, why are we here again?" Raph questioned.

Leo sighed. "Because we need to figure out where we are, how we got here and how we're gonna get back home." He replied. "And if we can't do that today, we should at least find a place to take refuge." He then adjusted his kasa hat as he began to walk down the hill. "Let's check it out. Remember, don't cause any trouble, especially you, Raph."

The red clad turtle merely glared at him before following.

Upon entering the village, the Turtles found themselves walking the narrow streets in town, taking in the sights, spending several hours trying to figure out where they were. However, there really wasn't much to go off of.

As they walked, they passed by several residents of the village, most of whom were geese, bunnies, pigs, etc. Some nearly reached their height while others only went up to their kneecaps.

They would have stopped to ask somebody, but they were still hesitant to reveal themselves to the public.

"So, Donnie, what do you make of all this?" Leo asked

Donnie, who had been observing all the architecture and residents of the village with keen eyes, answered. "Well, by the looks of this place, these buildings look like they're roughly from ancient China. I'm thinking maybe roughly from the Yuan, Ming, or even the Shang dynasties."

"So these buildings are like really really old?" Mikey asked.

"I'm not so sure." The smart turtle replied. "What with the people's dress attire, the lack of any modern technology, I'd say we're most definitely not in Kansas anymore."

"Think we've traveled back in time again?" Raph questioned.

Donnie shook his head. "I almost thought that." He said. "But after seeing the… residents at the inn, as well as the villagers here, and the fact that everyone here seems to be speaking perfect english with modern day dialect, I'd say we were somehow transported to a different dimension entirely."

"But which one, exactly?" Leo asked.

Donnie placed a hand on his chin. "If I had to guess exactly which of the ten dimensions we're in, I'd have to say… Second Earth."

"You mean where the rabbit is?" Raph said.

Leo gave his hotheaded brother a dull look. "Usagi, Raph. He helped us not that long ago."

Mikey gave a hearty laugh. "Oh, that was awesome! Ah, I remember all those threats Pug-taro would give us. Good times." He wiped a tear from his eye.

"Except where we almost got eaten by a giant spider demon." Raph said with a flat look.

"And the part where we were being mind controlled by that madman Jei." Donnie added with an equally deadpanned look.

"And the part where we were ambushed and pranked by tanuki and you and Raph were nearly turned into turtle-kebabs." Leo finished, his expression flat as a board.

Mikey scoffed a bit. "Well excuse me for being a glass-half-full kinda guy."

Before their conversation could continue, they were interrupted by the sounds of crashing wood and screaming.

"Run! Bandits!" A small pig screamed as she ran.

The Turtles all looked to each other before looking in the direction of where the villagers were fleeing from.

Raph was the first to break the silence between them as he shrugged, a grin growing on his face. "Well, so much for peace, huh?" He remarked, taking out his sais.

"Let's check it out, ninjas." Leo ordered.

The four turtles quickly took to the roofs, gracefully crossing the town noiselessly with great speed. Even in broad daylight, they were still able to remain invisible.

"At this speed, we'll get to them in no time!" Mikey cheered as they ran across ropes that held up lanterns before flipping over another roof.

As they got closer, the Turtles found themselves hearing the sounds of yelling and flesh hitting flesh, causing them to slow down as they came over the next roof.

Looking down on the streets was a group of warthog bandits, all of them big and bulky and carrying swords, and all of them were being fought off by a group of five warriors.

One was a female tiger, another a monkey, another one a female viper, a crane, and weirdly enough a mantis. And all five of them were fighting off the bandits, their movements swift and hard-hitting.

The tiger moved with a grace that almost rivaled Master Splinter as she maneuvered out of the way of a sword that was aimed at her head. Then, with amazing strength, she shattered the blade like glass with a single punch before kicking the bandit away.

The monkey screeched as he wrapped his tail around another thug's arms, pinning them before punching and kicking the warthog in the face. He then bounded over to two more bandits, easily taking them out with wild and unpredictable movements.

The viper wrapped her tail around the arm of one bandit and used it to make him punch himself like she was a crazy puppeteer. Using her tail like a whip, she then smacked another bandit in the snout before wrapping her tail around him and throwing him away.

The crane ducked under the swing of another bandit, using his long lanky legs to maneuver behind him and using his wing to perform a chop to the back of the warthog's neck. He then flew into the air, grabbing two bandits with his feet before throwing them into a wall.

Finally, the Mantis grabbed two bandits with his pincers and spun them around him like they were nothing even though they were both a hundred times his size.

"Those guys are good." Donnie gasped as he and the other turtles watched in amazement. These five warriors were easily taking down dozens of bandits without so much as breaking a sweat.

Just then, out of the corner of his baby blue eyes, Mikey noticed another group of bandits moving south of them.

"Dudes! There's more of those warthog guys!" He cried.

Leo, Donnie, and Raph looked, seeing the bandits as well. "Looks like these guys are just a diversion." The blue clad turtle observed, looking back to the ones being handled by the five warriors. "We've got to stop them."

"You sure we shouldn't try to help these guys?" Mikey asked, gesturing to the five warriors who were still fighting off tons of bandits easily.

"I think they'll be fine." Donnie said with a light shrug.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Raph questioned. "Let's go!"

Hopping across the rooftops, the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailed the bandits all the way to the heart of the town.

A mother goose cuddled her hatchling close to her as one of the bandits approached her, knife in hand. "It'll be alright, my child." She attempted to soothe her child.

The bandit raised his knife into the air, about to stab her when suddenly a quick blur kicked him in the chest, knocking him into a stack of barrels.

"Mommy, look!" The little chick exclaimed.

The mother goose and several fleeing villagers looked in honest surprise to see four large figures wearing straw ponchos and kasa hats facing down the bandits.

"How about you pick on someone your own size?" Leo challenged as he and his brothers stood together.

The bandits looked shocked as they stared at the disguised turtles with wide eyes.

"What in the-?!" One of the bandits exclaimed.

"Who are they?!" Another bandit questioned.

"Don't know, don't care." The toughest looking bandit said. "They're standing in our way. Teach them a lesson!"

Donnie drew his staff and twirled it above his head before he brought it down into a readied position. He then spun around as he spun his staff over his shoulders and moving it to his hand before jabbing his staff out in front of him. He then finally twirled his staff rapidly before taking combative stance.

Raph drew his sais from his belt and twirled them in his hands, brightly clashing them together before twirling them around his fingers and taking a combative stance with a confident smirk.

Leo reached behind him and drew his twin katanas from their sheaths, swinging them to his right and then to his left with complete control and grace, the tiny scattered leafs around him being sliced to bits by his blades as he took a combative stance.

Finally, Mikey tossed his nunchucks out from his belt, easily catching them and spinning with ease as he smirked before extending his them into a kusarigama chain, slashing the chain around threateningly before converting it back into his nunchucks.

The bandits then charged at the turtles as the four brothers ran to meet their challenge.

Mikey flipped out of the way of a bandit's sword, leaping up onto a roof before extending his nunchucks into his kusarigama chain. He then threw the chain, wrapping it around the bandit's ankle before giving a mighty pull. The bandit slipped off his feet and fell to the ground as the party turtle leapt down and landed on the warthog's chest. "Booyakasha!" He cheered gleefully as another bandit charged at him with a spear. He easily side-stepped the thrust before wrapping his nunchuck around the blade of the spear, forcing the blunt end of it into the bandit's stomach before kicking him away.

While Mikey held more of the bandits off with his hot nunchuck fury, Raph leapt onto the wall of a building and kicked a bandit in the snout. He ducked under another bandit's sword as he stood on his hands and pushed himself off the ground, kicking the bandit in the face. Another bandit with a sword tried to swing at him, but Raph caught the blade with his sais, and with the twist of his wrist, he snapped the blade much to the bandit's horror before kicking him in the stomach.

As Raph continued to bash his way through the thugs, Donnie found himself facing three bandits at once, all of them armed with long swords. The purple clad turtle twirled his bo staff before striking a pose.

The three bandits started laughing at him. "You're going to fight us with a stick?!" One bandit said, laughing before he was bashed across the face and sent flying several feet back, shutting the other bandits up.

"It's a really good stick!" Donnie smirked with pride, showing his gap-tooth before charging at the two bandits while they were still shocked and performed a split-kick on them.

One bandit charged towards Leo with an axe raised, but the blue clad turtle quickly side-stepped the attack before elbowing the bandit in the back, knocking him into a wall. Another bandit charged forward, this time with a hammer as Leo rolled away before blocking the hammer with his hamato clan katana. While the bandit tried to overpower him, Leo quickly used his free arm to slice the hammer in half before kicking the bandit away.

"What the heck is going on?!" One of the bandits cried. "I thought this would be an easier job once the Furious Five were distracted!"

"Apparently the valley also has some kinda kung fu frogs guarding it too!" Another bandit yelled.

"We're not frogs, you idiots!" Raph shouted, having overheard them as he kneed a bandit in the face and likely knocking some teeth out.

"Yeah, and it's not kung fu!" Donnie stated as-a-matter-of-factly, nonchalantly batting away another bandit with his staff. "It's an ancient Japanese battle art!"

Before the two bandits could respond, Mikey jumped down from above, kicking them in the back and knocking them down. "Word!" The party turtle exclaimed.

Leo then turned to the final bandit who was holding a sword and a knife. "Really?" He asked with a raised eye-ridge.

"What?" The bandit said, sounding confused.

"All your buddies are down for the count." Leo told him. "You're the only one left. So why don't you make it easy on yourself and surrender?"

The bandit simply glared at him before charging at the blue clade turtle. However, Leo did not move from his spot as he simply stood there. He easily ducked under the bandit's swing, not even using his katanas as he grabbed the bandit by the arm and flipped him over his shoulder, knocking him out instantly.

With all the bandits were all incapacitated, the four turtles quickly regrouped to the center of the street. "We just kicked some serious butt, dudes!" Mikey said. "High three!"

They slapped their hands together as they cheered, congratulating each other until they heard the sound of footsteps rapidly coming their way.

The four turtles turned to see the tiger, monkey, viper, crane, and mantis from before coming down the street towards them.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about them." Donnie admitted.

"Mikey, we need an exit." Leo ordered.

"On it, bro!" The orange clad turtle replied, quickly pulling out a smoke bomb before throwing it to the ground, allowing them to vanish in a purple cloud of smoke.

When Tigress realized that the bandits they were fighting were merely a diversion, she had initially cursed herself as she and the other members of the Five went to find the other bandits.

However, all of them were surprised upon arriving when they saw that all of the bandits had been defeated by four mysterious strangers, all four of them wearing straw ponchos and strange hats that obscured their features.

Before any of them could question what was going on, however, one of the figures pulled out what looked like an egg before throwing it to the ground, creating an explosion of purple smoke. And when the smoke faded, they were gone, not even a trace or a scent.

"So… who were those guys?" Viper was the first to ask.

Tigress lowered her head as she gazed at the unconscious bandits. "I don't know." She replied. "But… I have a feeling we might be seeing them again."

"Well, they sure made quick work of these guys." Monkey remarked, lightly poking one of the unconscious bandits. "We might actually have some competition."

And so that was chapter two, the turtles getting to witness the Furious Five in action! Next chapter, the turtles meet a certain fat panda. Later!
