"What time is it?" Jane said as she was reaching for her phone.

Maura who was sitting up next to her in bed reading the latest scientific blah bu blah, responds "Don't worry Jane, I wouldn't let you sleep longer than the 20 minutes we agreeded upon."

"Yeah cause if I were to miss this Skype call with Ma, I'd never hear the end of it. It's only been a week and half since we left and I've sent some pictures. Why…"

"One. You've sent one picture Jane." "A few texts and half a phone call. You may as well sent a carrier pigeon. Would be more communication than what you've been having."

"Really? Where can I get one of those?!" Jane quipped.

"I don't think you can Jane, nowadays they are just for hobby or sport and they can only fly 500 to 800 miles nonstop. We are currently 3,435 miles from Boston. Wouldn't be logical come to think of it"

"Yeah, yeah, Maura, I was kidding."

"I know" Maura said with a smile.

Jane winked at her and sat up on the side of the bed. Rubbing her eyebrow with the back of her hand and followed by the fluffing of her hair. She looked out the window and saw all of Paris lit up. Was a sight that would never get old. Paris has been amazing to say the least. Not only did Jane find herself actually enjoying all the boring museums, fancyscmacy art and stinky cheeses but her and Maura. Finally. The dam had gave way and there was no going back. It was almost in an instant when the plane touched down in Paris. There was a shift. Maybe it was all that distance between the thought of everybody's lives changing. Maybe it was a whole month, just the two of them together in one of the most romantic cities in the world or so they say. Whatever it was, Jane was happy for it and glad for the push. They were together. Together, together. Jane had gotten up and was now standing by the window. Thinking about when it had happened. It wasn't really a defying moment. Technically it felt like they were together for a few years now. When Maura had kissed her, it was like she was finally home.

Jane sat down in front of the laptop on a small round chair. I think Maura said it was a Cheshire ottoman or something along those lines. Whatever it was, I don't know why it's for a desk, I feel like a kid at the big kids table. The beeping of the Skype call started. They are early Jane thought but it's Ma so of course. Maura had set her paper down and made her way over to Jane and sat down on her lap. Jane put her arms around Maura's waist. "Maura, I love you and I know we are official now but I don't want Ma to find out like this. She'll freak out and we won't get a moments peace on the rest of our trip. Not that we have any now."

"Don't worry about it Jane, remember how long it took to connect to Kent just yesterday. It's going to be the same here."
And in that moment, Maura leaned down and kissed Jane.

"Guys, hurry, come on, gather around! I can't wait to surprise Janie! She doesn't know all of us are here!"

Hovered behind Angela was Tommy, Korsak, Frankie and Nina. All facing the laptop. Call connected….

Jane and Maura were way into their business when Jane noticed she couldn't here the beeping anymore, she shot open her eyes, stopped kissing, slowly and slightly turned her head to look at the laptop.

There in all their glory, she saw 6 people with their mouths gaped open, with the look of bewilderment on their faces.

Jane didn't know why she did it, it was a knee jerk reaction, she dove off the Chershire cat chair, taking Maura with her.

"Jane, what the f…" before Maura could finish that sentence, Jane had her hand over Mauras mouth and finger up to hers.

Jane whispered, "were you going to drop the f bomb Maura?!"

"What do you expect Jane?! What the h e double bats are you doing?!"

"H e double hockey sticks, Maura, hockey sticks"

"Doesn't matter, why did you tackle us off the chair?!"

"Jaaaaaannnnnnne Clementine Rizzoli, you got some splaining to do!" Angela yelled at the camera. Her voice cut across the air like nails on a chock board and it made Jane wince.

"Oh… OH!" Maura said with her eyes wide.

"Yeah!" Jane responded

In the moments that passed and everybody knew what they had seen, Korsak laughed and gave Tommy a pound. Frankie and Nina were smiling from ear to ear and Angela still couldn't believe it.

Jane was now low crawling back to the desk.

"I hardly think that's necessary, Jane. Maura said, still whispering. "They can't see you."

"Yeah, well, I'm not taking any chances with Ma. I wouldn't be surprised if she has this place bugged."

Janes face slowly started to appear on the screen from the bottom right.

"Heeeeeey Ma…." And before Anglea could get a word in.

"Kiiiirrrsht, kiiiishet, Ma, I think it's a bad connection. I ca n't, see, hear…ksssht you."

"Jane, I know you're doing that on purpose! Stop that!"

Jane pointed to her ears gesturing that she couldn't hear them and shut the lap top.

Jane sighed and fell down next to Maura, breathing somewhat heavily and before she could process what just happened her phone was already buzzing.

"Oh my gosh, that's Ma!"

"Well, now that the cat is out of the bag, are you going to tell her that you asked me to marry you?" Maura said with a smirk.

Jane turned to look at Maura

"Ha! You're funny. So funny Maur."

"Maura Rizzoli. I love the sound of that." Maura smiled.
