A/N - Okay, it has been quite a while since I did anything with this story. I hope this chapter makes up for the long wait. If not, then crudsicles.
Anywho, quite a bit happens in this chapter. It may be a relatively short chapter compared to some of the other chapters I write, but I think it turned out rather well.
I'm really quite tired from staying up all night working on this chapter. It also feels like I've sprained my wrist somehow, so that's painful as hell. So I'll end this here. Enjoy the chapter!
Chapter 2 – Wrath
"I was a fool to think I could trust in you abominations." Hiruzen said as he glared first at the civilians on the council, then the elders, and finally the clan heads. "I was hoping to announce Naruto-kun's heritage soon, within a matter of days. But it would seem that was a mistake. You see, Naruto-kun was attacked by a rather large mob yesterday afternoon. I spoke with him in detail yesterday about his parents, his heritage, etc. I even gave him his inheritance that his parents entrusted me with."
Sighing heavily, Hiruzen stared solemnly down at the table, his hands folded in front of him. "It would seem that it was a mistake to trust you bastards. Civilians…attacked one of my SHINOBI! Hell, shinobi from your blasted clans even joined in on the assault, swearing vengeance upon Naruto-kun simply because he was trying to move into his parents' home! Civilians attacking one of my shinobi is a terrible crime and those left alive are going to pay dearly. But more than that…" Looking at the civilian council again, he smirked cruelly when they began to sweat. "Anbu, take these wretched piles of scum to Ibiki. Tell him to go wild and really fuck with their minds."
Before they could utter a single word of protest, the Anbu had appeared and taken them away. As soon as they were gone, Hiruzen turned to glare at the clan heads. "Of the shinobi that remained alive, one is a woman from your clan, Hiashi. I don't care about their names, and I don't much care for their 'reasons' for attacking Naruto-kun." Looking at Tsume, he narrowed his eyes on her and said, "A large number of your Inuzuka clansmen were with the mob. In fact, one of them admitted that he was the one to nail Naruto with his kunai. Wonderful job controlling your people, Tsume."
When the woman flinched without uttering a single word, Hiruzen looked a Shikaku. "I'm ashamed to say that there were a couple of Nara women involved. In fact, I might as well just tell you that every one of your clans was involved in the attack. Every last fucking one of you!" he exclaimed before pounding his fist hard upon the table, causing everyone to jump in their seats. "I've half a mind to investigate your clans and weed out all the monsters hiding amongst your clans myself!"
When Danzo went to speak, Hiruzen leveled such a fierce glare on him that it caused the war hawk to show an emotion he hadn't felt in many, many years: fear. "Don't think you three are off the hook either. You, Danzo, convinced the people of the village that Naruto was a monster to be killed. They would be heroes for killing the Kyuubi incarnate. I know what you were planning, old 'friend'. Isolate Naruto until he hits his lowest point, then swoop in and offer him what he wanted: friends, family, a home. Only you would rob him of his emotions and turn him into another one of your typical Root thugs. Tch. Too bad for you, I have no need of you anymore. I don't care who, just kill this bastard!"
Shikaku let a tiny smirk tug at the corner of his lips. Once Hiruzen confronted Danzo, he knew that the old man would order them to kill Danzo. So he had silently connected his shadow to that of his target's. When Danzo tried to move, Shikaku manipulated his body and forced him to reveal to everyone what he was hiding under his bandages. What they saw caused everyone to freeze in abject horror. Shikaku almost let his control slip, but he held strong.
Underneath Danzo's bandages were a grotesque arm with ten Sharingan embedded in it. Then there was the Sharingan inside his right eye socket. Grimacing at what he was seeing, Shikaku said, "You're a monster. I always knew something was off about you, but even I couldn't have suspected something like this. Somebody kill him already!"
Hiashi nodded and quickly dashed towards Danzo, only to freeze in place. Everyone was naturally quite confused. At least, that was the case until Hiashi turned and made to attack Shikaku. Shit!
Before Hiashi could reach Shikaku, Choza enlarged his fists and captured the Hyuga clan head. Keeping him trapped, he looked at his friend and asked, "How are you holding up Shikaku?"
"I've been better. I've still got him, but I'd really like somebody to kill him soon. Although…" thinking on it for a time, he eyed the Sharingan in his arm. "Somebody take out the Sharingan in his arm! Then target the one in his eye socket! If I'm correct, that should help us to kill the son of a bitch."
Hiruzen nodded and hurried up to Danzo with Tsume quickly following. Together, they systematically destroyed each of the Sharingan before ripping out the one in Danzo's eye socket. Afterwards, Choza noticed that Hiashi had stopped struggling. Deciding to take a chance, he released the Hyuga clan head and watched as he collapsed onto his knees, gasping as he slowly started to regain his bearings. "W-What the hell happened to me just now?"
While Hiruzen and Tsume finished off Danzo, Shikaku breathed a sigh of relief. "I believe he used the Sharingan to manipulate you, Hiashi. Whatever he did, it was a powerful genjutsu of some kind. How do you feel?"
Hiashi shook his head and said, "I've been better, that's for sure." Glancing over his shoulder, he saw Danzo's body being reduced to ashes, courtesy of a fire technique. Shrugging it off, he soon returned to his seat and looked at the Hokage seriously. "Hokage-sama, for what it's worth, I apologize. I had not expected anyone from my clan would have done such a thing. If I had to guess, I'd say the elders are responsible for poisoning my clanmates."
Tsume scowled and said, "To think, my clan would assault an innocent boy. I'm definitely going to need to clean house when I get back home."
Hiruzen nodded as he retook his seat. Turning to face the elders, Homura and Koharu, he said, "I hope you two don't think you're getting off Scott free here. You're just as guilty as all the rest. In fact, you're damn lucky I don't feel like killing you both. From now on, you don't get to make any decisions. You'll simply advise me as you were always meant to. Cross me again and you'll regret it. Don't push your luck with me."
Homura and Koharu were sweating nervously. Hiruzen obviously knew what they had been up to, but how could he have figured it all out? Or…was he just bluffing? If he was, it was a damn good one. Deciding not to risk their chances, they wisely remained quiet and simply let the meeting continue.
Looking at the clan heads, Hiruzen decided to just get straight to the point. "I'm going to reveal Naruto-kun's heritage later today. He's the son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki. He may be this village's jinchuriki, but that doesn't make him less of a person than any of us. All Naruto-kun wanted to do yesterday was move into his parents' home and get some sleep. Then they attacked him. He's in critical condition with no signs of when he'll come to. One of the civilians hit him hard enough with a nail board and punctured his brain. There's a great deal of swelling, and he requires surgery to safely remove the board so that he can be healed. Which is why I have rescinded Tsunade's travel privileges. If all goes well, she'll be here by tomorrow. If she refuses to show herself…"
Everyone could feel the pressure in the room increase tenfold at that comment. Hiruzen was PISSED! Deciding that staying quiet was their best bet to get out of this in one piece, they simply watched their leader as he thought over his next words.
"If she refuses to return, I'll hunt her down myself and beat the shit out of her. Then I'll drag her sorry ass back here and force her to heal Naruto-kun. If she gives into her fear of blood and doesn't heal him…I'll show her horrors the likes of which she's never seen before. If she thought losing Dan and Nawaki was bad, she'll feel even worse if she pisses me off." Hiruzen said, steepling his hands before him. "You're all dismissed. Deal with your clans and fix the problem. If I so much as hear that you're unable to rein in your people, I'll deal with them myself. That's a promise."
Everyone quickly filed out of the room, not one of them willing to say anything to their leader while he was in this state. After all, a pissed off Hiruzen was a dangerous Hiruzen. They had absolutely zero intention of poking that bear in the eye.
Karina
As Karina stepped into the Third Training Ground, she couldn't even bring herself to raise her head and look at her potential Genin recruits. She felt terrible and had gotten very little sleep. As she approached the two girls, Karina took notice of the strange looks they were giving her. "Yo." She greeted as casually as she could, which, unfortunately for her, contained all the grief she was feeling about what she had allowed to happen. If only she was faster!
Satsuki narrowed her eyes at her sensei and said, "Naruto's not here and you don't seem to have the energy to so much as swing a kunai. What happened?"
The pinkette of the group looked pleadingly into Karina's eye. "Naruto…he's okay, right?"
Karina shook her head and said, "We won't be having the test today. Last night, Naruto was attacked. He had just finished packing his things and sealing them into a couple of storage scrolls and was on his way to his new home: his parents' house. Civilians and shinobi alike formed a large mob and attacked him. Their goal…was to murder him. Many people were killed, more were arrested, and Naruto…"
Satsuki scowled and asked, "What's wrong with Naruto? Please tell us."
The silver-haired Jonin nodded once and said, "Naruto was injured severely. He only had two serious wounds: a kunai that pierced his hands, preventing him from using any techniques…" Taking a breath to steady herself, Karina closed her eye and said, "A civilian hit Naruto in the back of the head with a nail board. The nails punctured his brain and now there's swelling in his brain. He requires surgery to remove the weapon and a skilled medic nin to aid him in the healing process. But…"
Sakura's eyes were wide and she had covered her mouth with her hands. She was shaking and said, "N-Naruto…why?" Thinking about what Karina had just said, Sakura began to cry. "If the swelling doesn't go down and his brain continues to bleed…he could suffer permanent brain damage. Even after the board is removed, he could die if not treated immediately. We'd need the likes of Tsunade-sama to help him now."
Karina nodded and said, "That's exactly right, Sakura. Naruto's going to have to go through some rehabilitation…and even then we don't know yet how he'll be affected by such a serious injury. Any number of things could happen. If we're lucky, the Kyuubi and his own natural healing factor will help repair all the damage and he'll be right as rain in no time. Honestly, however? That's wishful thinking. Chances are high that he'll suffer from some kind of mental disability of some kind. For all we know, his speech could be slurred, he might lose his sense of taste, his motor functions could be skewed in some way…or worse." Sighing sadly, she shook her head and said, "Hokage-sama has rescinded Tsunade-sama's travel rights. She's on her way back to the village as we speak. Or at least…we hope she is. Hokage-sama has made it quite clear that if she doesn't return immediately, he'll hunt her down, kick her ass, and drag her back here kicking and screaming if he has to. But…"
Satsuki scowled and said, "The more time she takes to get here, the worse off Naruto's going to become. I know we may not always get along, but I never wanted anything like this to happen to him. Karina-sensei? Can we go to see him together, as a team? I want him to know that he has our support. We're a team and we won't just abandon him because of this."
Sakura nodded determinedly and said, "That's right! I've been horrible to him all this time and I want to make amends. I want…I want him to wake up so we can be friends. I swear here and now that I'll never hurt him again. I'll give him the help and attention he needs. Just…just so long as he wakes up."
Karina smiled at them and said, "I'm glad to hear it. As far as I'm concerned, you've passed your true Genin test. All three of you. You already understand the concept of teamwork and care about one another. Sure, let's go pay Naruto a visit. I warn you now, though, that it's not a pretty sight. We don't even know if he can hear us."
As they followed their sensei through the village towards the hospital, they couldn't help but overhear some of the conversations taking place around them. A vast majority of them were talking about what happened to Naruto. However, most of them were gleeful, happy that the demon was finally dealt with. This pissed the three women off, but they simply clenched their fists and moved on.
As they continued onwards, they began to hear rumors about the Hokage and some kind of speech taking place later in the day. Whatever it was about, Karina didn't think it mattered at the moment. Instead, she led her teammates into the hospital and up the stairs. When they reached Naruto's room, Karina sighed and said, "I hope you're ready." before pushing the door open and entering the room.
Upon entering the room, Naruto's teammates gasped as they took a few tentative steps towards him. Slowly, almost robotically, even, the duo reached Naruto's bed. The pink-haired girl gently grasped Naruto's hand and said, "We're here for you, Naruto. I'm so sorry. I did nothing but hurt you up until now, but I promise I'll make it up to you. I'll be the best friend you could have ever asked for! Why did this have to happen to you? How could they do such a horrible thing to someone as nice as you?"
As Sakura broke down into tears, Satsuki looked him over carefully before she began to examine the nail board sticking out of his skull. When she noticed something, her frown deepened. "Karina-sensei…you need to get a doctor in here immediately. I just found something worrisome."
Not liking the sound of that, Karina stepped out into the hall and waved down a nurse. "Ma'am, can you get Dr. Ueta for me please? It's urgent."
The nurse offered Karina a smile before hurrying off to find the doctor. Once she was gone, Karina turned around and reentered the room. Stepping up next to Satsuki, she asked, "What's the problem?"
Pointing at the nails, or at least what they could see of them, Satsuki said, "The nails have rust on them. I'm no doctor, but even I can tell that this is bad news."
"Shit." Karina said.
After a moment, Dr. Ueta entered the room and approached them. "I heard you had something urgent to discuss. What's the matter?"
Satsuki pointed at the nails and said, "The nails are rusty. I'm no doctor, but that's really not a good thing, is it Doctor?"
Ueta frowned deeply as he inspected the nails. Frowning deeply, he said, "Luckily Naruto had his Tetanus shot a year ago, so he shouldn't have to worry about that. But the fact that these nails are embedded in his brain is, indeed worrisome. If Tsunade-sama doesn't return to Konoha by tonight, I'm afraid I'm going to have to perform the surgery. We can't leave these nails in for much longer."
Karina scowled and said, "She'd better get here soon or I'll shove a Raikiri straight up her ass."
Sakura and Satsuki blinked in shock at that, while the doctor simply nodded in agreement. Note to self: Don't piss off Karina-sensei.
Naruto's Mindscape
Naruto was currently sitting before the great cage that housed the mighty Kyuubi no Yoko. He looked depressed and miserable at the moment as he simply gazed into the Kyuubi's eyes. Finally having enough of it, the Kyuubi asked, "Why do you keep staring at me like that? You haven't said a damn thing since you got here. It's honestly getting a little creepy."
The blonde simply shrugged and asked, "What's the point? I guess I kind of assumed you'd be mad at me for keeping you locked up in here against your will. Besides that…" Sighing sadly, Naruto looked into the Kyuubi's eyes again and asked, "How bad is the damage? Can we heal from this?"
The Kyuubi frowned for a time and said, "If they'd just remove that nail board, your healing factor combined with my chakra would heal the damage in no time. But so long as the board's lodged in your head, you're going to get worse instead of better. You could suffer permanent brain damage if the damn thing doesn't get taken out. We're cutting it kind of close right now. At best, I'd say we have until tomorrow night before you start to suffer any severe consequences. You don't want to know your chances otherwise."
"Well shit. Is there anything we can do? Can I wake up and tell them to take the damn thing out?" Naruto questioned.
The Kyuubi shook its head and said, "Unlikely. Even if you were to wake up, your basic motor functions are shot to hell and your speech would likely be slurred. You'd be lucky if they could understand what the heck you'd be saying to them."
Naruto sighed and said, "Well shit." Lying back in the water, Naruto stared at the pipes up on the ceiling and said, "I guess my career is over before it could even begin. Some ninja I turned out to be, huh?"
"I wouldn't go giving up just yet. Tell you what kid, you help me and I'll help you. If we want to save your sorry ass, we need to work together. And before you ask, I promise there's no tricks, no ulterior motives, none of that crap. I don't want a weak or crippled container anymore than you want to lose your dream. Besides, I know you felt that pull coming from your sensei. Wouldn't you like to find out what that was all about?"
Naruto frowned at the Kyuubi and asked, "Why are you willing to help me? I don't get it."
The Kyuubi sighed and said, "Kid, believe it or not, this is the most freedom I've had in ages. You're the third container I've had, and I like you far better than those other two. At least I'm not sealed away too tightly to converse with anyone, or worse, chained to a damn moon. Besides, you've already been through way more than enough without me having to add onto it."
"Anyways, if you want me to help you out, you need to remove the seal holding me back. Only then can I give you my power. Power enough to push that damn thing out of your skull and heal your injuries. So, do we have a deal, Naruto Uzumaki?"
Naruto thought it over for a couple of minutes before nodding his head. "What do I have to lose? I've already had to deal with way too much crap, so I don't see how this could make it worse." He said with a shrug. Afterwards, he approached the seal and began to remove it. However, before he could, a hand reached out and stopped him from removing the seal.
Seeing who it was, Kyuubi snarled and shouted, "You! How dare you show your face here?! First you seal me away for the third time, you curse your own son to a living hell, and now he's damn near braindead. You shouldn't even exist here!"
Minato looked at the Kyuubi no Yoko with narrowed eyes. "I'll deal with you in a moment. Naruto, we need to talk."
"Hello father. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you don't know what's going on just yet. First, however…" Before Minato could react, Naruto punched his father hard in the gut, causing him to reel backwards and wince in agony.
"I…I guess I had that coming. For what it's worth, I'm sorry, Naruto. Please, let's talk." Minato requested.
Naruto grumbled irritably before disappearing to another part of his mindscape with his father. Sitting down, they both looked into one another's eyes. "Do you even know what I've been through since you sealed the Kyuubi into me?"
Minato sighed and said, "I can only hazard a guess. If you'll let me tell you the details of that night, I promise I'll listen to all you have to say. Is that okay?"
The whiskered teen shrugged and said, "Might as well get this over with. What happened?"
"Naruto, there is so much I need to tell you. First, you should know that your mother was the second Kyuubi jinchuriki. She was a beautiful woman who loved you very much. Her name was Kushina Uzumaki. In fact, that's the reason you took her surname. You might just be the last surviving member of the Uzumaki clan."
Naruto simply nodded and motioned for his father to continue. Getting the message, Minato said, "Naruto, when a female jinchuriki gets pregnant and it's time for her to give birth, the bijuu, in this case the Kyuubi no Yoko, has an opportunity to escape confinement. However, doing this will most assuredly kill the container. While your mother was giving birth, I was there fighting to keep the Kyuubi contained. However, tragedy soon struck."
"Shortly after you were born, a masked man killed Sarutobi's wife and our guards. He took you and slapped explosive seals all over your blanket. I had to save you and use my signature technique, the Flying Thunder God Technique, to save you. Unfortunately, this left your mother in a vulnerable state. This man unleashed the Kyuubi upon Konohagakure, severely weakening your mother and practically draining her life force. She was practically on death's doorstep."
"I fought this man, and he claimed to be Madara Uchiha. However, thinking back on it now, I highly doubt he's the real Madara. Whoever he is, he is an Uchiha, but I don't know much more than that. Sadly, he was able to escape, but I managed to free the Kyuubi from his influence. However…"
Naruto sighed at this point and said, "Kyuubi was too far gone and was on a rampage. A lot of people died that night. You had no choice but to take drastic measures, so you chose to seal the Kyuubi into me. Did I get that right?"
Minato nodded once and said, "Correct. Your mother argued with me quite vehemently, saying that we should seal the Kyuubi inside of her once again so, after she died, the Kyuubi would die with her. Unfortunately, the Kyuubi would just return after a matter of years. In order to protect you and the village I cherished so much…well, the only choice was to seal the Kyuubi within you. My original plan was to seal half of the Kyuubi within me and the other half into you. By doing so, I had hoped to weaken the Kyuubi enough so that it wouldn't end up harming you. However…"
Naruto blinked a couple of times as he tried to process what he was hearing. "Something made you change your mind. You sealed the Kyuubi in its entirety into me. But why?"
The Fourth shook his head and said, "It's hard to explain. It's sort of like I just knew you could handle it. That you'd be just fine. So, I trusted my instincts and sealed the whole might of the mighty Kyuubi no Yoko into you, my son."
"I see. I suppose I can't really blame you, then. But, there's things you need to know, Dad." And for a good while, Naruto explained everything to his father. All the abuse and neglect he had suffered, the Third Hokage lying to him for as long as he had, Jiraiya being a neglectful son of a bitch, and more. By the time he was finished, he breathed out a sigh of relief and said, "You know, opening up to you and letting it all out is kind of cathartic in a way."
Minato chuckled with his son for a moment before he reached up and ruffled his son's hair. "For what it's worth, I'm truly sorry. I believed in the villagers and our friends to do right by you…but it seems my trust was spat on and stomped into the ground. You deserve far better. Though, I have a question. You mentioned some kind of pull between you and Karina? Can you explain that for me?"
Naruto frowned in thought for a time before saying, "Well, it feels like we're connected in some way. Like there's some kind of invisible string pulling us together. I don't know what it means."
Minato frowned in thought for a time before suddenly snapping his fingers. "I've actually heard of that before! Some of the most powerful people of my time experienced something similar. They almost always ended up in a romantic relationship with their counterpart. But, Karina is ten years your senior. That's quite an age difference. But, from the sound of it, you might be very well connected to her by the mythical red string of fate. You just can't see it, but it's there. Darn I hope that made sense."
The whiskered teen blushed and said, "Me? With Karina-sensei? I…I don't know if I can do that. We barely know each other! But you're right, I haven't felt that same connection with any other girls yet. What happens if the same thing happens when I see a different girl? What if there's multiple strings of fate?"
Minato hummed in thought for a time before he shrugged and said, "That's entirely up to you, Naruto. You can either choose one or the other, or you can choose to be with both. There's nothing saying you can't be with more than one woman. Especially if they're your destined ones."
Naruto ruffled his hair for a moment before slumping over, letting out an agonized groan. "I swear, this is way too confusing. I guess I'll just have to think on it and see what happens. But…" Looking seriously into his father's eyes, Naruto said, "Dad, if I don't free the Kyuubi and work with him, I could very well end up with serious brain damage and perhaps other complications. Will you please place your trust in the two of us?"
Minato frowned distastefully at the mere idea, but at the moment he couldn't think of any other way to help his son. Nodding reluctantly, he took his son and returned to the dank sewer that was Naruto's mindscape. Giving his son a pat on the back, he watched as Naruto approached the seal and slowly peeled it off.
In an instant, the cage doors flew open and the Kyuubi walked out, stretching its body until it finally felt normal again. "Oh thank goodness. I've been cramped up in that cage for far, far too long. Now that I'm free, it's time for me to uphold my end of the bargain. Naruto, hold out your fist."
Blinking at the strange request, Naruto simply shrugged and held out his fist. When the Kyuubi bumped fists with him, Naruto felt a sudden rush of energy before he suddenly blacked out. Once the process was done, Kyuubi looked down at Minato, who was now cradling his son in his arms. "You have a good kid there, Minato Namikaze. I may not like you very much, but I suppose I owe you my thanks for freeing me from that damned Uchiha's control. Before you disappear, is there anything you want me to pass on to Naruto for you? I might as well do you a favor before you go."
Minato frowned in thought for a time before coming to a decision. "Take my knowledge on fuinjutsu and the Flying Thunder God Technique. And give him all the knowledge I've gained over the years, including information on key individuals he'll need to watch out for in the future. With such information, he'll be able to get and maintain the upper hand in any political situation he ends up in in the future. He needs to be prepared for anything and everything."
The Kyuubi raised a brow and asked, "What about the Rasengan? That was your other signature technique, after all."
Minato shook his head and said, "I want him to learn the Rasengan on his own. However, I would appreciate it if you informed him that the Rasengan was never completed. I want him to figure its secrets on his own. Can't just give him everything, after all. And finally, give him my knowledge on my fighting style. I want him to memorize the stances and movements required of my taijutsu style. However, I want him to simply use my style as a basis for the taijutsu style he'll eventually create on his own."
Kyuubi chuckled and said, "Well, that's quite the list. Very well then, Minato Namikaze. Bump your fist to mine and I'll hold onto the information for you. When he's ready, I'll give him the knowledge you wish to bestow upon him. I promise."
"Thank you, Kyuubi. Take care of my son, please. It's time for me to go." Minato said shortly before he faded away into nothingness.
Naruto, you are going to become a legend. That's a guarantee. Kyuubi thought to himself with a grin.
Konohagakure
Hiruzen scowled as he looked upon the large crowd before him. Oh, how he hated these people. Using an enhancement technique, he said, "I realize that I have been far too lenient with all of you. I've let you beat and harass an innocent young man simply because I was too afraid to go against the council's wishes. I'm here to set things straight."
"Naruto Uzumaki is no more the Kyuubi than the rest of you. He simply contains the beast. It is a prisoner within the seal placed upon Naruto by the Fourth Hokage on the day of Naruto's birth. He is an innocent young man that has been nothing but kind to everyone. Only, instead of reciprocating such kindness, you have harmed him and even attempted to kill him on numerous occasions. And I let you get away with it all!"
"Yesterday night, Naruto was assaulted on his way back home. He simply wanted to go home and rest after having an exhausting day. But, because he had moved into his parents' home, you morons became pissed off and chose to attack him! At the moment, he is stuck in the hospital in critical condition. He could very well suffer permanent brain damage or worse."
"I'm here for one very important reason." Looking around at the various faces in the crowd, Hiruzen decided to drop the big bombshell on them. "Naruto Uzumaki is the son of Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze. Yes, he is the son of the Fourth Hokage and his wife! I took him to his parents' home so he could be safe. So he could finally sleep easy at night without having to worry about being attacked by you rotten assholes! However, because you ignorant douchebags refused to accept the truth, you tried to kill him! Civilians attacked one of my shinobi and I. Am. PISSED! I've half a mind to just execute all of you right here and now. But I won't."
"I have recalled Tsunade, one of my students and a very powerful kunoichi in her own right. Hopefully she will arrive in time to help heal Naruto. If she doesn't arrive soon, I'll hunt her down, beat the shit out of her, and then drag her back here kicking and screaming if need be. From now on, I won't tolerate any bullshit. If you try to hurt Naruto again, I'll start mounting your heads on my wall as grisly trophies. If you're smart, you won't push your luck. I suggest you start trying to make amends to Naruto. I want you to go home and think over your actions. Hopefully you come to the right decision." And with that, Hiruzen waved his hand dismissively before turning and walked off the stage.
Shortly after stepping off of the stage, a familiar voice yelled out, "What the hell is the meaning of this?! Why did you suddenly revoke my traveling rights?! You know damn well I never wanted to come back to this place! You'd better have a damn go—"
Turning around to face his wayward student, Hiruzen glared deep into her eyes for a moment before crushing her with his killing intent. As she collapsed onto one knee, struggling to breathe, Hiruzen began to speak. "That is enough Tsunade. I have an emergency and you're the only one that has the skills to heal him. Naruto Uzumaki was attacked yesterday and might suffer permanent brain damage unless you heal him. And I suggest you get over your fear of blood immediately. I won't tolerate your bullshit any longer. I'll escort you. Do not try to resist, Tsunade. You wouldn't get very far."
As soon as her sensei let up on the killing intent, Tsunade took in big gasps of air, trying to steady her nerves. After a moment, she stood up on shaky legs and followed after her sensei. Shizune and Tonton fell into step beside her.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Hiruzen knew something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Everyone was in a panic and the hospital staff were trying desperately to calm everyone down. Sadly, they weren't quite able to quell the panicked crowd. Instead, Hiruzen motioned for Tsunade to follow him as he led her upstairs and to Naruto's room. The numerous doctors and nurses outside the room worried him greatly, but didn't deter him.
Opening the door, Hiruzen and Tsunade entered the room to see the Kyuubi's chakra flailing about wildly. It appeared to be attempting to remove the nail board on its own, but it just wasn't budging. It began to thrash around more and more wildly as its attempts continued to fail. Seeing all of this, Tsunade stepped forward and, ignoring the thrashing wisps of chakra, took a look at the nail board. "Damn. This is quite the emergency. Fine. I'll do my best. But what do we do about the Kyuubi's chakra?"
Hiruzen frowned for a time before saying, "It doesn't seem to be lashing out at anyone in particular. I get the feeling it's more frustrated than anything. If it could remove the nail board, I assume the Kyuubi would begin to heal his container. Dr. Ueta, please take Naruto and prep him for immediate surgery. Tsunade, I expect you to work through your fear of blood real fast. Your skills are needed to ensure Naruto-kun survives this with minimal to no damage done to his brain. Do you understand me?"
Tsunade gulped and nodded quickly. "Crystal clear, sensei. Dr. Ueta, let's hurry."
As the two of them hurried off with Naruto, Hiruzen turned his glare on the various onlookers. "Get back to work and don't go telling everyone about what happened here. If I hear word that somebody leaked the fact that the Kyuubi was acting out, I won't stop until I find who did it. I will make an example out of you, so do behave." And with that, he left the hospital to go and resume his duties. I really hate these people sometimes.
A/N - And that's the chapter! I hope you enjoyed it. :)
As you can no doubt see, a ton of things happened in this chapter. I'd like to think it turned out rather well, but I'll let you all be the judge of that. *shrugs*
