Chapter 1: Appendicitis
The pain had been bearable at first.
The Justice League were fighting against Lex Luthor when Barry began to feel a strong pain in the lower portion of his stomach. Having an extremely large pain tolerance from all of his previous injuries from being the Flash had led to Barry shrugging the pain off.
The battle ended with Luthor being taken away with Superman.
Days went on and Barry continued to have this intense pain stab through him at random times. He stopped eating as much as he usually would. It was starting to show because of his high metabolism. Iris, concerned, had asked him why he wasn't hungry and Barry hurriedly reassured her by saying that he was fine. Iris, being the smart woman she was, didn't believe him.
Eventually, it got to the point where Barry's calm facade had started to slip, like now for example.
Barry was sitting at his desk at CCPD when the pain shot through his body but this time it was accompanied with the sudden urge to throw up. Lunging forward, Barry fell down on his hands and knees retching into the garbage can next to his desk.
Captain Darryl Frye had been on his way to find his favorite CIS, when he saw Barry throwing up into his trash can. Rushing over to where the man was, he felt his parental instincts flaring up.
"Barry!" He knelt next to him, placing a hand on his back . "It's alright, Bar. Just let it out."
After another few minutes of dry heaving, Barry fell back against his desk, eyes tightly scrunched together in pain.
Patty Spivot, who had seen the whole thing, was watching the scene in extreme concern, hovering behind her captain.
Barry sucked in a pained breath, "I need to go home. Not-feelin' too good."
Darryl raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, I think that is pretty obvious, Kid. Here, come on." He carefully lifted Barry, throwing his arm across his shoulders. "Let's get you to your wife."
After managing to get Barry into his car they made the drive over to Barry and Iris's house. Darryl kept a close eye on Barry, who made pain-filled noises the entire time.
Pulling into the driveway, Darryl jumped out of his car and headed to the other side, once again carefully pulling Barry out. Walking to the front door, Darryl knocked, praying that Iris was home and not out searching for a story.
The door swung open, Iris Allen in all of her glory stood in front of him looking alarmed at her husband's appearance. "Oh my Gosh, Barry!" She waved for Darryl to bring him inside.
Looking around, Darryl looked around for Barry's nephew. "Wally isn't here is he?"
Iris thankfully shook her head, "No, he's out with his friends at the moment. Here sit him on the couch."
He layed Barry down on the couch and stepped back. Iris immediately sat down beside him, laying a hand on his arm.
"Iris. This piece is looking really good I think you should-" A woman with black hair and blue eyes walked in from the kitchen, eyes widening when she saw the scene in front of her. Gasping in alarm, she rushed forward in concern. "Oh my gosh, Barry! What's wrong with him?"
Iris didn't turn to her intently looking at her husband. Leaning forward she cupped Barry's face in her hand. "Barry? Barry, Honey? What hurts?"
Barry grunted, "My lower stomach. It feels like someone's stabbing me repeatedly."
Iris nodded, quickly lifting his shirt, she felt his lower stomach. It was bloated. Frowning in concern, she turned to the unnamed woman. "We need to get him to his Doctor."
The woman nodded. "I'll call Clark." She walked back in the kitchen.
"Hey, Iris? I'm going to head back to the station and update everyone on Barry." Darryl trailed off, glancing at Barry once again.
Iris looked at Darryl and gave him a warm smile. " Don't worry, Captain Frye. I'll be sure to keep you updated on Barry's condition."
Darryl smiled back, "Thanks, Iris. And it's Darryl." He walked to the front door, Iris trailing behind.
She smirked, "Sorry, I keep forgetting."
Darryl looked at Barry one more time before waving goodbye to Iris. Iris quickly shut the door and rushed back into the kitchen. "Is Clark close?" She stopped short when she saw Clark in his Superman attire standing beside Barry, already lifting him into his arms.
Glancing at her, he nodded. "I'll get him up to the watchtower."
Iris nodded, "We'll be there as soon as we can."
Clark took off.

Batman walked into Mount Justice and found the Young Justice team doing their normal activities. Artemis and Wally were bickering, Robin was tapping on the device on his arm, Aqualad was sitting calmly on the couch reading a book, Miss Martian was most likely in the kitchen attempting to cook and Superboy sat on the couch watching the static on the tv.
Batman stopped a few steps away from them. Robin immediately sensed him and turned to look at him which caused the others to notice him.
Wally growned, "Aw, Man. Is it time to train?"
Batman cut to the chase. "Kid Flash. Flash is currently in the infirmary. He's experiencing intense pain in his abdomen. The doctors are taking care of him now. Your aunt is waiting for you in the hall."
Wally's mouth was agape and he had paled at the news. Without hesitation, he flashed out of the room. The rest of the team, also concerned for the elder speedster, followed behind, Batman walking behind them.

When the rest of the team arrived, they saw Wally being comforted by his Aunt Iris. Members of the Justice league had also arrived. Green Lantern sat beside Iris, head in his hands. Superman sat beside his wife, Louis, both looking at the closed door Barry had disappeared into in concern. Wonder Woman was standing with her arms crossed a frown covering her beautiful features. Green Arrow was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, his usual smile gone. Aquaman stood next to him, his eyebrows creased in concern.
The group waited for a long while before finally, the door opened revealing a very tired looking Doctor. She smiled softly at the expectant group in front of her.
"Mr. Allen is going to be fine. Though just a little longer and we would be having a totally different conversation."
The tension that had grown when the Doctor had arrived disappeared. Everyone relaxed. Iris asked the question everyone was wondering about. "What was wrong with him?"
Dr. Leslie explained, "Barry had a severe case of Appendicitis. It had burst. But luckily we were able to remove it before it could become fatal. We weren't however able to give him a strong enough drug to stave off the pain from the impromptu surgery. So he'll experience some pain until his accelerated healing manages to repair everything."
"Can we go and see him, Please?" Wally pleaded, still extremely worried for his uncle.
Dr. Leslie nodded. "Of course, Wally. Go ahead."
Wally, Iris, and Hal went in to talk to Barry first.

Wally took in his uncle's appearance. Barry looked extremely tired but he had a soft smile on his face. There were IVs hooked up to him and other machines that Wally knew nothing about, he wasn't sure that he wanted to know what they did.
Wally walked up to him. "Uncle Barry! Are you okay?"
Barry's smile wided. "Yeah, Kid. I'm going to be just fine, I promise." His voice was weak and croaking when he spoke.
Iris sat down next to the bed, laying her hand on her speedster's face. "Oh, Barry. I hate seeing you like this. I should have seen the signs, not eating as much as you usually do, you wincing in pain every few minutes."
Barry put his hand over the one on his face. "No, sweetheart. There's no way that you could have known that this would happen and it's not your fault. I should have seen Dr. Leslie as soon as the pain started."
"All that matters is that you're okay, Bar." Barry turned to look at Hal, who was standing opposite to Iris. "You scared the shit out of me, Barry! When I saw Superman carrying your unconscious body I thought that-" He cut himself off, unable to finish that sentence but Barry's expression showed that he understood what he meant.
Iris leaned forward, wrapping him in a tight embrace, "I'm so glad you're okay."
Smiling, Barry hugged her back, closing his eyes. Feeling another pair of arms around him he opened them again to find that Wally had joined the hug. Barry put his arms around the two of them, feeling tired but happy. He looked towards Hal and saw him standing nearby, watching them with a fond smile.
