Mei felt pretty upset sitting in class, she felt like Brendan and Tyler fought just for her, she liked Tyler but felt she would've lost Brendan as a friend had she gone with Tyler. She was confused about what to do going forward with the two. She sat in class taking notes, in her class she had neither Brendan nor Tyler but she had Abby, Priya, and Miriam so she knew she could confide in them.

"Mei, what's the matter?" asked Miriam.

Miriam could see that something was bugging Mei.

"Nothing" Mei muttered lowly.

"What's bothering you?" asked Priya.

"Just...what happened earlier" replied Mei.

"The fight between Brendan and Tyler?" asked Priya.

"Yeah we heard about it," said Miriam.

"I feel like it's my fault" sobbed Mei.

Miriam and Priya put their hands on Mei's shoulders and Abby leaned behind her over her shoulder.

"It's not," said Priya.

"Yeah, those two just got outta hand and emotions just went wild" added Miriam.

"Exactly, just boys being typical idiots" chuckled Abby.

Mei had a bit of a chuckle after Abby said what she said, Mei felt grateful to have friends like she had and soon she started to feel a little better about everything. Although she still didn't know what to do with those two boys.

"I just don't know what I should do though," said Mei feeling a bit better.

"Talk to them" suggested Priya.

"Yeah but they're probably both ready to kill each other" replied Mei.

"Well, you need to let them know your decision and they both need to be accepting" added Miriam.

"Yeah, they need to know it's YOUR choice!" exclaimed Abby.

"Thanks, guys, I definitely will" smiled Mei.

After a few periods, lunch eventually rolled around and since it was a nice day out the kids were permitted to eat their lunch in the schoolyard. Mei felt this was her chance to talk to both Brendan and Tyler but she needed to get them to the bleachers so she decided to send a text, one to Tyler and one to Brendan.

Under bleachers, need 2 talk

Mei stood under the bleachers and waited for the boys, after about five minutes she saw Brendan who was throwing out a sandwich wrapper and heading to where Mei was and Tyler who was throwing out a brown paper bag did the same. The two walked under the bleachers when they spotted one another and both boys were ready to kick one another's butts.

"What're you doing here?!" exclaimed Tyler balling his fists.

"What's it to you?!" exclaimed Brendan balling his fists.

"Who you giving an attitude to?" Tyler angrily responded.

"Certainly not the Easter Bunny" retorted Brendan.

"You wanna go for round two?!" exclaimed Tyler.

"Bring it on Mary!" exclaimed Brendan.

The two were about to scuffle when they were suddenly both grabbed by the backs of their shirts and lifted into the air much to their surprise...and fear.

"What the?!" exclaimed Brendan scared.

"Put me down!" exclaimed Tyler.

Mei had panda'd before their meeting and grabbed the both of them since she knew they would scuffle the second they saw each other and she knew that she could be the voice of reason in that state.

"I'm gonna put you both down and you're both gonna stay put! Got it?!" exclaimed Mei.

"Got it!" said Tyler cowering in her paw.

"Affirmative!" exclaimed Brendan cowering as well.

Mei put both boys down on the ground and they both wiped the sweat from their foreheads since both had somewhat of a fear of heights.

Mei took a deep breath and returned to her normal human self, she stood in front of the two boys ready to explain to them what was going on.

"Alright, we all need to talk," said Mei sternly.

Both Tyler and Brendan nodded and prepared to listen to what Mei had to say to the two of them.

"Look...you both are incredibly INCREDIBLY good looking and I was torn between the two of you, like for the past few days and everything. I mean Brendan look at you, you play hockey and you're masculine and smart" said Mei.

Brendan nodded and shot a smug look at Tyler.

"And you Tyler, I've known you for so long, and sure I thought at first you were a total butt-face but when I found out you were a Townie...I mean, that just like blew my mind and like Brendan, you too are just incredibly cute and you're just a sweetheart and not a total butt-face like I thought" said Mei.

Tyler shot Brendan an equally cocky look.

"But..." said Mei hanging her head.

"Uh-oh, never good when a woman says but," said Brendan.

"I think we should all just be friends right now, just until I get my head straightened out" sighed Mei.

"But..I thought that kiss meant something" retorted Tyler.

"Yeah, I mean I felt something when I kissed you, you mean you didn't?" said Brendan confused.

"No! Guys, I'm not saying both your kisses didn't mean anything it's just that, I like you both and I worry that I'll lose you guys no matter my decision," said Mei beginning to tear up a little.

Brendan and Tyler soon started to feel a little guilty, both boys felt in their hearts that they had upset Mei and they didn't wanna do that.

"You alright Mei?" asked Tyler concerned.

"Yeah, I mean no matter your decision I'll still be your friend," said Brendan.

"Yeah, same here" replied Tyler.

Soon Brendan turned to Tyler.

"Dude, I'm sorry I thought you were gay and tackling you like that," said Brendan.

"I shouldn't have taken it like that, besides I swung at you" replied Tyler.

"Yeah, after I shoved you" chuckled Brendan.

"Let's just say we were both idiots" chuckled Tyler.

"We were...amigos?" asked Brendan extending his arm for a fist bump.

"Amigos" replied Tyler bumping his fist.

Mei smiled and the three of them shared a hug knowing that they would have this awesome friendship for years to come.

A FEW MONTHS LATER

It was Summer break and Mei, Brendan and Tyler were sitting on a bench waiting for a bus. The team Brendan played for made the championship game which happened to be in Montreal. All of the other kids were sitting at another bench and the parents were watching from behind since all the kids wanted to sit with their friends.

"Man, do I have butterflies in my stomach" chuckled Brendan.

"Man, I'm sure you guys are gonna dominate," said Mei.

"Yup, you'll be raising that trophy by the end of the week!" exclaimed Tyler.

"Yeah, thanks guys I am nervous...but I'm sure not as nervous as you guys having to tell your respective parents you're both dating" chuckled Brendan.

"Ehh...my folks will get over it" chuckled Tyler.

"I mean, my mom is gonna be an uphill battle but my dad is supportive no matter what" replied Mei putting her arm around Tyler's shoulder.

Mei and Tyler had officially begun dating a few days before the last day of school, Mei knew he was the one for her because not only was he a Townie but she knew him the longest and those two were pretty much the deciding factors and Brendan was good with it, he knew their happiness and their friendship was way more important than fighting over a girl. As the trio sat and talked, a charter bus pulled up.

"Alright squad, say goodbye and get on the bus!" exclaimed Brendan's hockey coach.

Brendan's dad approached him.

"Kick some butt out there!" exclaimed his dad giving him a high five.

"Will do, dad" said Brendan.

Mei and Tyler approached Brendan smiling.

"Good luck dude" smiled Tyler.

"We'll be rooting for you, keep us in the loop!" exclaimed Mei.

The three shared a group hug and in mid-hug something fell out of the pocket of Brendan's windbreaker...it was a CD, a particular CD...one which Mei and Tyler knew all too well.

"Is this?" said Tyler looking at the CD.

"4*Town's Y2-Chaos Tour from 2000?" said Mei shocked.

Brendan's eyes began to dart and he soon began to panic.

"What? OH! NO! That's not mine! Ummmmm...you see! What had happened was, I was getting my haircut at the same salon Abby's mom worked at, and well umm...she noticed me and I think she must've ummmmmm..." panicked Brendan.

"Don't hide it dude" laughed Tyler.

"Yeah, denial isn't just a river in Egypt you know," said Mei a little smug.

"Will you two listen?! IT AIN'T MINE!" exclaimed Brendan.

"Brendan and Abby sitting in a tree" chuckled Tyler.

"K-i-s-s-i-n-g" teased Mei.

"Look I gotta go, gimme the dang thing it's probably all I'll have to listen to," said Brendan grabbing the CD and running onto the bus...but not before sharing one last group hug with them.

Brendan sat down in his seat, grabbed his Discman out of his bag, and opened the jewel case, he took the CD and put it in his Discman and noticed a little note behind the CD that Abby left him.

Kick some butt! Hurt 'em! Love Abby!

Brendan chuckled and played the CD.

Mei and Tyler watched the bus take off and looked at each other.

"So whaddya wanna do now?" asked Tyler.

"Karaoke? Maybe with the girls?" suggested Mei.

"Works for me" smiled Tyler.

The two got up and headed to Karaoke-Dokie, while walking the two locked eyes and held hands, knowing they both were meant for each other.
