So, what happened after the last chapter? Well, uhhhh...Lemme fill you in on what happened.
To make it short, here is the list:
- Enjoyed the cupcake (which was strawberry flavored with icing that tasted like whipped cream).
- X told me about his experience with the Shadow Mavericks (I still feel terrible about it).
- Went through Magic Class (It was kinda fun, not gonna lie. It helped me hone in on my powers and figure out new ways to use 'em. Dr. Lalinde, you are a godsend and I love you).
- And then, we went to Art Class and Axl decided to paint an Among Us Crewmate, which by the way, was not funny.
We're here now at lunch! It was a pretty good day outside, so whoever was watching us said we could go outside. And here's where the story continues. Roll it!
"How come you laughed at my painting, X?!" Axl yelled, not even finishing his PB as he wiped the crumbs off his mouth. "I found it humorous, y'know! And so did everyone else!" X said as he took another bite of his spaghetti. "Everyone else except me and Ari. Besides, our humor has evolved past the silly traitorous crewmates known as impostors." Zero said with the most smug smirk on his face, but then we heard some people walk over to where we were. "Um...Excuse me, but is this spot taken?" I looked up to see three women: the one who was speaking had long, straight purple hair and skin just two shades darker than mine; the one next to her kinda looked like Zero but female and her hair was much shorter; and the last one was quite shy, with the same description as the second, however her hair was in buns.
"Not at all!" I smiled, pointing to the open spots near us. Each of them expressed their gratitude and sat down. "By the way, what are your names? Mine is Layer, and these are my two friends, Alia and Cinnamon." She said, pointing to each of them. I introduced myself and the boys to them. "I'm Ariana Light, this is my little brother Remix, and these are my two friends, Zero and Axl! Nice to meet the three of you!" I'm guessing that made Alia chuckle due to X's embarrassed face. "Ari...That's embarrassing..." X whined as he held his face in his hands. Alia went over to him and smiled. "That's just what older sisters do. I can tell that she really loves you." She's right about that and- hold on...It hasn't been an hour and my brother is already blushing! Talk about the over-usage of "Love at First Sight". *Sigh...* Anyway, back to the story. Roll the clip.
Zero took notice of this and nudged my arm. "Hey, Ari! I think your little brother's got a crush.~" I shrugged it off and smiled. "Hey, he's only 19, cut him some slack!" I then turned to Axl, who was making jokes with Cinnamon and telling them to Layer, which got quite a good laugh or two outta her. Out of absolutely nowhere, I started feeling...down, which was completely unusual for me. Maybe it's just my emotions being stupid again, or maybe I'm just feeling homesick. Either way, I'm just feeling unnaturally sad. "Hey, Ari? Are you feeling alright?" I immediately turned around to see Zero laying a hand on my shoulder. "Oh, uh- Yeah! I'm alright! I was just...moping around!"
"Okay...Well, if it helps lighten up the situation, I'm holding a party this weekend to celebrate surviving our first week of college! There'll be snacks, drinks, and my lil' sister's famous desserts there! Wanna come?" Heh, who can't say no to that smile? I just chuckled while smiling and said, "Alright, alright. I'll come. When does it start?" I asked him. "The whole thing starts at seven-thirty, but you and some pals could come earlier for all the snacks!"
"Alright, sounds like a plan!" I smiled while standing up. I felt a little uneasy, but it's probably because of me sitting down for too long. "Aw shit, it's music class next!" Axl yelled while checking his schedule. "Hey, that's one of my favorites!" Layer and I both exclaimed. We both looked at each other and laughed for at least 2 minutes. "I think you two are gonna become fast friends, don't ya think?" Zero smiled. For the sake of not letting this shit drag on any longer, let's move onto the actual fun part of music class.
Alright, so uh...We're here in music class now! It sorta looks like this image on the bottom.
Yeah, just picture that, but it's much more fancy and has an overabundance of musical instruments. The teacher's pretty nice, and he's got a good taste in music. Wish I could've learned his name though; he said it was a secret, dunno why but it's a secret. "Now everybody! Do you know why there's a microphone next to this piano?" He asked enthusiastically with a spring in his step. X raised his hand and the teacher answered his call. "Is it because this assignment consists of you singing your heart out as the piano instrumental plays along with your voice?"
The teacher smiled brightly and did a little happy dance while spinning. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES! We're going to be doing our very own karaoke session today!" I smiled to myself; this was right up my alley! "Now, I'm going to need a singer and a pianist...Let's see...How about you and...you!" I grinned and dashed to the microphone while Layer walked to the piano. "So...which song would you like to sing?" She asked me, tilting her head in curiosity. "Ehh...Maybe we could do an English translation of Telepatia or a mashup of Seven Rings?" I said while checking if the mic was on, which it was; I dunno why I did that. We both decided to sing the former, which worked out pretty well.
Most of the class gave a standing ovation with a few hoots and hollers in the mix of clapping, mostly from Axl. But my eyes managed to focus on Zero's expression. It was almost like he was...daydreaming. "That's pretty strange." I thought, examining his expression with visible concern. I think he got the memo that I was staring at him, because he turned red as his jacket and put his head down out of sheer embarrassment. The teacher congratulated me and Layer and we both went back to our seats. This gave me the opportunity to talk to Zero.
"Zero, are you feeling alright? I saw you staring but I couldn't figure out why." I asked him, only to be met with him slightly lifting his head. "Uh...Yeah. I'm alright, Ari. I was just thinking about...the desserts we'll have for the party! Yeah!" I could tell that this was a complete and utter lie, but I didn't wanna be pushy. So, instead I just ruffled his hair. It made him pretty happy, but I also heard a small bark come from him. I thought that was abnormal, and that pretty much remained in my mind. And finally, it was time to go home.
