Corrin stopped mid-sentence when he saw his sister's retainer. She was quite short normally, but he could tell she was smaller than normal. Even when sitting down his eyes were level with hers. Plus her bandanna was hanging down at an angle, one side threatening to cover her left eye. Were he not astonished, Corrin might have laughed. Her over-sized headgear combined with her stoic expression made for quite an amusing sight.
"Ah, Lord Corrin too," Beruka stated. For a moment Corrin considered that he might be the one who was bigger, but everything besides the two women were normal size to him. He barely noticed Beruka's head shifting downwards as he pondered this.
"Beruka! You're shrinking too?" Corrin asked.
"Shrinking?" a small measure of confusion was in Beruka's normally monotone voice.
"She seems bigger to me," Camilla commented, "but I suppose I'm not in much of a position to judge anymore..."
Beruka looked down at her hands. "Since this morning, my armor has been ill fitting, shelves have been harder to reach, and..."
"And...?" Camilla encouraged her retainer to finish.
"... And I feel strange when I think of Corrin," Beruka continued.
"Oh? Don't tell me you've fallen for my sweet little brother!" Camilla teased.
"C-Camilla!" Corrin stuttered.
"No, I do not think so. It feels like I am on the verge of passing out," Beruka said, "…maybe that isn't accurate. I can't describe it."
Hearing it from Beruka seemed to confirm it for Camilla. "I think I know..."
"Beruka!"
Camilla was interrupted by a shout from her other retainer. Selena clumsily bound towards them, stopping for breath when she reached her colleague. Side by side, Corrin and Camilla could see that the red-haired woman was even shorter than Beruka!
"Corrin?" Selena saw the prince on the bench, "and Lady Camilla?!"
"Hello Selena. As you can see, I'm a bit on the small side at the moment," Camilla smiled.
"So it's happening to you too?" Selena asked, though she knew the answer.
"Yes, my dears. It seems we're all shrinking," Camilla confirmed.
"B-but why? It's totally random! I barely even noticed at first!" Selena said.
"The potion," Beruka said, "we all had some of it."
"No way..." Selena gasped.
"Yes, that seems to be the case," Camilla nodded.
"Potion?" Corrin asked, "What potion?"
Camilla turned to smile at him. "Don't worry your pretty little head about it."
Corrin moved to say something, but Selena spoke first.
"Then why am I smaller than Beruka? Something to do with her poison testing?"
"That appears to be the case," Beruka agreed.
Camilla tutted, waving a finger at her retainers. "Such silly little girls..." she cooed.
"Um, Lady Camilla?" Selena asked. She was annoyed at being talked down to but tried not to show it to her superior.
"You have another idea?" Beruka chimed in.
"Indeed I have," Camilla smiled, looking to Corrin. She felt giddy again and her height decreasing slightly, confirming her theory.
"Every time we think about my dear Corrin, we get smaller," she revealed.
"About... Corrin?" Beruka asked. The two ladies looked at the prince, making him slightly nervous, but he could see them become ever so slightly smaller.
"No, wait, that can't be!" Selena protested, despite the explanation making perfect sense to her, "if that's the case, then why am I smaller than Beruka?"
"My dear Selena, that should be obvious, no?" Camilla teased, "you must think about Corrin more than she does!"
"N-no, that's...!" Selena stuttered, her face turning crimson.
"But why me?" Corrin asked, "what do I have to do with this?"
"I don't know, my dear," Camilla said, "any ideas, Selena?"
"I-I don't know!" Selena lied, "a-anyway, we should ask someone who knows about magic, yeah? Maybe they can fix everything!"
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing," Corrin agreed, "maybe Leo knows something about this."
"That's settled, then," Camilla jumped down from the bench, then pulled Corrin's arm gently. "You'll come with us, won't you dear?"
"Well, yeah, but..." Corrin said.
"Wonderful!" Camilla smiled, pushing Corrin to Beruka's side. In doing so, she had arranged them into height order. "So my sweet girls are getting smaller... If only I were bigger, I would look after you both no matter how small you became!"
"We'll protect you, Lady Camilla!" Selena proclaimed, looking down at the purple-haired princess.
"Yes," Beruka agreed.
"So reliable, too..." Camilla commented.
"So we have to try not to think about Corrin?" Selena asked, feeling smaller as she finished her sentence.
"It seems that way," Camilla said, both her and Beruka also shrinking, "a shame, really."
"But, if you try not to think about him, you are thinking about him right?" Selena felt herself shrink again as she said this.
"Dear me, what a predicament," Camilla commented.
"Where would Leo be at this time of day?" Corrin wondered.
"Probably in his room, I'd imagine," Camilla answered.
"We could go and ask the old potion lady?" Selena suggested, "she should know how we can fix this!"
"I guess there's Nyx, too," Corrin said, not bothering to ask about this mysterious potion lady.
"Your orders, Lady Camilla?" Beruka asked.
Camilla smirked. Despite being the smallest, she was still in charge.
