I woke up pretty early this morning, so I decided to go take a bath before breakfast. No one ever got up until around eight in the morning unless told otherwise of course. I always get up at least around seven to have a little bit of relaxing time to myself before everyone else got up.
When I got to the bathing house, I got undressed then got in the bathtub. I washed my body and hair in ten minutes. I got out and put on my white robe and went to my room to get dressed in a simple top and skirt. By the time I was done, it was already 7:55 A.M. Now to wake up Neji and Hinata. First, I went to Neji's room. When I opened his door, he was still sleeping in his bed. "Wake up Neji, it's time to get up." I whispered in his ear. "Mmmmm." Neji groaned, still sleeping. Hmm. I thought to myself, getting an idea in my head.
I got on top of Neji and started to shake him. As I shook him, I started to feel his arms pulling me down. "Oh man, now what do I do?" I muttered to myself as I started to blush when I saw the position I was in. The pressure got heavier and Neji's grip got tighter as the moments had passed. I laid there trying to figure out a way to get up. Then it came to me. I started to move around as if I was tied to a chair. I started to feel sleepy for no reason at all. As if all the energy was draining out of me like a battery. I fell asleep on top of Neji, then the room went black.
Hinata's POV
I woke up and looked at the time on the clock, it read 8:05 A.M. "Oh no, breakfast starts in 25 minutes." I panicked, rushing to get dressed. I got dressed as quickly as I could. I then looked at the clock one more time. 8:10 A.M. "I think I should check to see if Kana's up like she normally is." I said aloud. When I got to Kana's room, I knocked on her door. After I knocked on the door, I got no answer from her. I tried again. When Kana didn't say anything the second time I knocked on the door, I decided to open it to see if she was there. I opened the door to see that she wasn't there anymore. I wonder where she could have went. In the bath house still maybe.
I started to worry, but I knew one more place to check before checking the bath house or going to ask my father where she was. Neji's room. But why would she be in there? I mean I could see it if he was showing her something that he forgot to let her know about. I wondered hesitantly. When I got there, I knocked on Neji's door and then I waited for him to answer. No answer. I tried again. The second time I knocked on Neji's door I got no answer like I did before when I had knocked on Kana's.
I decided to open the door and see if Neji was there with Kana. When I opened Neji's bedroom door, I saw him still asleep and with Kana on top of him. When did Kana come in here and how did she end on top of Neji? I asked myself as more questions raced through my mind. I shook my question filled head and went to wake Kana and Neji. I went up to the bed and started to shake them both at the same time.
Neji's POV
I felt somebody shaking me, but I also had intense pressure on my stomach. "Hinata, Kana?" I asked as I started to stir. "Neji, Neji." Someone called, shaking me. I started to finally wake up as I saw two familiar faces in front of me. But the second face was asleep on top of me. I assume it's Kana. "Kana, are you awake?" I asked Kana, staring at her. "Mmhm." Kana grumbled as she started to wake up. "Kana, when did you come in here?" Hinata asked her. "I came in here about seven something." She answered sleepily. "Oh." Hinata responded. "Um Kana, can you move please? I can't breathe with you on top of me like this." I muttered as I tried to get up. "Sorry, but I'm too comfortable to move." Kana mumbled, talking sleepily. "Neji, how are we going to get her to move?" Hinata asked, desperate. "I don't know Hinata, but we'll think of something." I assured her. "Um Neji, are you able to sit up a bit?" Hinata asked. "Yes, I think I can sit up just enough." I said, trying to scoot into a sitting position.
I wasn't quite able to move into a sitting position, so I thought of a plan B. I was going to try and roll over. "Um Neji, how are you going to move her now?" Hinata asked again. "I'm going to try and roll on top of her instead of the other way around." I explained, despite how sexual that sounded. "Um, I'm just going to wait outside okay." Hinata said, making some hand movements as she walked out of the room. I was about to roll over when Kana slightly woke up. "Neji, is that you?" Kana asked, just waking up from her nap. "Yes, but can you please get the heck off of me?" I tried to tell her as nice as I could. "Sure Neji." Kana laughed, getting off of me. "Thank you." I thanked her getting up and fixing my clothes. "You're welcome." Kana smiled as she got off the bed and fixed her own clothes.
Hinata's POV
I was in my room when I heard a knock on the front door. I go to answer it. I opened the door to reveal Tenten waiting in the doorway. "Hi Hinata, is Neji here?" Tenten asked, looking around for Neji. "Yeah, but he's in his room with-" I try to warn her. She ran off to Neji's room before I could say that Kana was with him.
Kana's POV
I heard a knock on the door as I was fixing my clothes. I was about to tell Neji to see who it was when I noticed he busy. I went and answered the door for him. I opened the door to see my teammate and friend, Tenten. "Hey Kana, what are you doing in Neji's room?" Tenten asked, confused. "Hahaha, oh that. Well, I went to wake Neji up for breakfast and it took me forever to wake him up." I kinda lied to her. "Oh, okay. Well anyways, Gai-Sensei said that we have the day off." She finished, still curious. "Okay, thanks Tenten. Don't worry, I'll tell Neji for you. Well, we'll see you later I guess." I smiled as I shut the door behind me. "So, what did Tenten want?" Neji asked as he came over in my direction. "Nothing much really. She just wanted to let us know that we had the day off." I informed him while plopping down on his bed. "Okay. Come on let's go eat breakfast and then train a little." Neji suggested as he was about to open the door and walk out. "Okay, okay, we'll go and get something to eat." I giggled as I got off the bed and followed Neji. Neji and I walked out of his room and into the dining room for breakfast.
After breakfast, Hinata came up to us. "So, what took you guys so long to come out?" Hinata asked. "I was talking to Tenten." I said. "It took forever to wake Kana up, and then we talked a minute and afterwards came here." Neji tried to remember all that went on. "So um Neji, is it alright if I train with you?" Hinata asked shyly. "I guess since Kana is too." Neji said. "Okay, let's all go to the training area." Hinata smiled, heading out of the dining room. Neji and I nodded our heads. Hinata and I went to train with Neji down in the training grounds near the compound. "Ready you two?" I asked them. "Ready." They both answered. Hinata did some hand seals. "Gentle fist!" Hinata yelled, trying to hit me, yet hit Neji instead. "S-Sorry N-Neji, I m-meant t to h-hit A-Kana." Hinata stuttered. Neji made a couple of hand seals. "Eight trigrams, 64 palms!" Neji shouted. I tried to block Neji's attack, but failed. "8 palms, 16 palms, 24 palms, 32 palms, 64 palms!" Neji yelled. I hit the ground hard and blacked out.
Neji's POV
"N-Neji, w-what h-happened t-to her?!"Hinata cried with concern. "Why don't we take Kana to the stream not too far from the compound?" I suggested, unsure what expression to take. "O-Okay." Hinata complied. Hinata and I went to the stream near the compound to wash Kana up. I sat Kana against a log and told Hinata to get a washcloth. "Hinata, go and get a washcloth from the closet if you will." I ask. "S-Sure." Hinata said as she ran off to the compound. "Byakugan!" I shouted checking to see if Kana was alright. She looks fine. Just sore and a little tired. Good, I didn't hurt her too badly. I thought to myself. "U-Um, I-I'm back w-with the washcloth y-you a-asked f-for N-Neji." Hinata called as she was jogging back with the washcloth dangling in her hand. I took the washcloth from Hinata and dipped it in the water. I wrung it out and then wiped Kana's face clean of any blood.
I put my hand over her mouth and nose and dipped her in the water holding her so that she couldn't fall in. "N-Neji, w-why'd y-you do t-that?" Hinata asked with a scared voice. "Don't worry Hinata. I've got my hand tight enough over her mouth. I promise I won't let her drown. I thought the water just might wake her up." I reassured her. "N-Neji, i-if A-Kana g-gets a a col cold y-you're t-taking c-care o-of h-her." Hinata warned. I nodded in understanding.
I pulled Kana out of the water and took my hand off of her face, then I put her in my lap. "N-Neji, y-you k-know t-that y-you're g-going t-to g-get w-wet." Hinata pointed out. "I know. Hinata, can you get a clip and put Kana's hair up? When you come back I'll go get some firewood and make a fire so that we can warm her up, then I'll get the tent and some sleeping bags and we can just camp out here tonight." I explained my rushed plan. "O-Okay then." Hinata agreed, rushing back to the house again.
Five minutes later, Hinata came back with a towel, hair clip, and a hairbrush. "Okay, Hinata. I'll be back soon with some firewood." I remind her, about to head out into the woods. "O-Okay." Hinata said while taking Kana from me. A few minutes later I was back with some firewood, then got the tent and sleeping bags and lit the fire. After I did that, I caught nine fish and cooked them.
Kana's POV
I smelt something good cooking as I opened my eyes. Once they were open, I found myself lying in Neji's lap. I blushed then slightly smiled to myself. I then saw some fish and thought, wow that smells good. "Well, look who's up?" Neji chuckled slightly, smiling at me. "How long have I been out?" I asked, still sleepy. "At least an hour or so." Neji said. "Oh." I said as I tried to sit up, but failed. "A-Kana, a-are y-you h-hungry?" I heard a familiar, stuttering voice ask. "Yeah." I cheered happily, reaching for one of the sticks when I noticed Neji was pulling me into a sitting position. "If y-you want a-anymore y-you h-have t-two left." Hinata pointed to the two remaining fish. "But, what about you and Neji?" I asked, worried that they didn't eat anything. "Don't worry about us. Hinata and I have already eaten." Neji reassured me. "Oh, I didn't know." I said, still sitting on Neji's lap. "I-It's o-ok." She said. "Thanks Hinata." I smiled at her. "It's getting late, we should probably go to bed now." Neji pointed out as he pulled me off of his lap and started to get up. "Right." Hinata and I said as the two of us started to get up as well. The three of us all got in the tent and into our sleeping bags then went to sleep. The next morning I woke up feeling arms around me and I noticed that they belonged to Neji. I started to blush when I noticed this. I went to wiggle out of Neji's grasp, but his grip was too strong.
Neji's POV
I woke up to see Kana looking at me with a smile on her face. "Good morning Kana." I smiled at her. "Good morning Neji." Kana blushed a bit and slightly smiled. I giggled at him. "What's so funny Kana?" I asked while looking at her strangely. "You." Kana said, still laughing at me for some reason. While Kana was too busy laughing at me, I took my given advantage and I started to tickle her. Now she won't be laughing at me, but with me. "Ne...ji st...op, that tic...kles!" Kana laughed uncontrollably. "What's the password Kana?" I ask, trying to think of something quick. "Please?" Kana asked in a hopeful voice. "Nope, that's not it." I said, still tickling her. "Um, Neji Hyuga is the best." Kana said really quickly with a small blush on her face. "No, but that will do." I said as I stopped tickling Kana and half smiling at her as well as hoping my uncle didn't see me. "What I said was true, I do think you are the best, Neji Hyuga." Kana smiled at me with that one smile I could never resist. "Thanks, I think." I answered, slightly smiling back at her with a small tint of pink across my face. "You're welcome. Wow, I can't believe that Hinata slept through all that, unless she was really tired from training. Oh yeah, I forgot to do this yesterday." Kana said scooting back a little. She then slaps me on the cheek and then punched me in the stomach. "Ow, you really pack a punch Kana." I groaned in pain while clutching my stomach. "Well thanks and that was for knocking me out and dipping me into a stream of freezing cold water." Kana pouted, obviously upset. "I'm sorry about the cold water, but it was to wake you up." I attempted to explain. "Humph." Kana said as she turned away from me while coughing a little bit. "We should wake Hinata up now." I changed the subject, hoping she would speak to me. Kana nodded her head slightly, but she was still mad at me from yesterday. Although, at least she was talking to me somewhat. "Um Neji, what was the real password?" Kana asked, forgetting about what happened yesterday. "The real password was 'Guy-Sensei is an idiot'. Oh and we have to meet him later today so don't forget." I said, remembering that we had to go and meet him today unlike yesterday. "Okay, I won't forget." Kana laughed as she gave me that smile again. "Alright then." I said.
We finally got Hinata up before training started. "I can't believe that I slept through all that noise you two made, especially that big slap." Hinata said, surprised. "What slap are you talking about Hinata?" I asked forgetting that Kana slapped me for dipping her head in the stream yesterday. "Yeah, what slapping noise are you talking about Hinata?" Kana asked, forgetting as well. "Um Neji, what's that red mark on your cheek?" Hinata asked, pointing at the red mark on my cheek. "Oh, I got it this morning from training." I quickly answered, trying to cover it up. "It doesn't look like it Neji. Besides, I would have heard the tent open and then close and it looks more like a handprint to me." Hinata said, almost figuring it out. "I didn't feel or hear anything." Kana chimed in. "What do you mean by 'feeling' Kana?" Hinata asked, putting air quotes around the word 'feeling'. "I felt someone's arms around me when I started to wake up." Kana said, looking away a bit. "Um Neji, do you have anything to do with this arm thing?" Hinata asked. "Well, kind of." I said, not sure of what else to say. Kana sighed. "Hinata, I slapped Neji on the cheek earlier this morning cause he dipped me in the stream and I woke up and found out that he was the one who had his arms around me." Kana explained some of what of what happened this morning. "Wow. I, I slept through all t-that?" Hinata asked, not in the slightest at the moment, at least, curious of why I had my arms around Kana. "I think we should go inside and eat now." I suggest, starting to get up. "Alright." Kana said, starting to get up as well.
Hinata's POV
The three of us packed up and headed back inside. "Where have the three of you been?" My father questioned us as we walked in the room. "W-We c-camped o-out l-last n-night." I answered shyly. "Is that true Neji, Kana?" Father asked, starting to stare at Kana and Neji. "Yes uncle." Neji said, telling the truth. "Yes sir." Kana gulped with fear then went behind Neji. Hiashi put his hand on his forehead and sighed. "I guess I will have to believe the three of you for now, but I hope all of you aren't lying to me." My father warned. Kana, Neji, and I sighed in relief.
Neji's POV
After my uncle disappeared into another room, I turned to my cousin and best friend. "Hinata, Kana and I have to meet with Guy-Sensei and the rest of our team, so we'll see you later on, okay?" I said, getting ready to leave. "Okay Neji, I'll see you guys later then." Hinata waved as we parted ways.
Lee's POV
"Well, I see you all could make it today and that Lady Tsunade has put another member on our team as well." Guy-Sensei greeted, pointing to a girl standing next to Neji. Wow. I stared at her in amazement. "Miss, can you please tell us your name?" Guy sensei smiled at her. "My name is Kana Matarashi." She plainly introduced herself as she stared at all of us without an expression. I ran up to her as quickly as I could and asked, "Kana, will you be my girlfriend? I will protect you with my life." I asked, hoping that she would accept my offer. "Um, I'm sorry Lee, but no thanks." Kana turned me down with an odd look on her face. I sighed in defeat. "Okay everybody, today we are going to be sparing with each other. Lee you're with Tenten and Neji with Kana." Guy sensei explained. "Tenten and Lee will go first, then Kana and Neji." Guy sensei finished. "Yes Guy sensei." Tenten said. "Yes sensei, but I wanted to train with Kana, not Tenten." I sighed, disappointed. "Maybe another time Lee, but right now she should train with Neji. She's not at your level anymore." He explained. "Yes sensei." I sighed.
Guy sensei's POV
"The first battle will be Tenten and Lee then it's Kana and Neji." I told my youthful students. They all nodded their heads in response.
(After Tenten and Lee's battle)
"The winner is, Tenten!" I shouted, flashing my incredible teeth. "Great... job... Lee." Tenten panted. "Thanks...Tenten." Lee said, starting to get his breath back under control. "Next up is Kana and Neji." I pointed at the two.
Neji's POV
Kana and I get into a fighting stance. "Ready Neji?" Kana asked as she smiled at me. "I'm ready." I said, slightly smiling back at her.
(After the battle)
"It's a tie!" Guy sensei yelled as I felt something fall hard fall on my lap when I sat down. It was Kana. She must have fainted from being so tired. So instead of moving her, I just let her be, sleeping calmly in a sitting position on my lap. "Alright my youthful students, today's training session is over. So have a great weekend." He said. I just sat there staring at Kana's sleeping form until I saw Guy sensei looking at me. "Is there something wrong Neji?" Guy sensei asked, worry in his voice. "No, she'll be fine as long as she gets some rest." I said reassuringly. I carried Kana home bridal style. When I got back, I went into my room and placed Kana on my bed. As I took off Kana's shoes and my own, I sat at the edge of the bed and sat her up. I laid down and started to move her head onto my chest.
Tenten's POV
I was at the front door of Neji's house just as I was before. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer. The door opened and stood a man that I presumed was Neji's uncle. "Hello, can I help you?" Neji's uncle asked. "Um hi, is Neji home? I wanted to give him something." I asked, hopeful. "Yes he is, but I don't exactly know where though. He just came home from practice recently so he might have went to his room or the bath house to clean up." He said in a not so sure voice. "Okay, thanks." I smiled. I walked into the house and went to Neji's room.
I knocked on Neji's door, but I got no answer. I knocked once more and still no answer from Neji. Maybe he's not in his room. I decided to open the door anyways. I opened Neji's door and saw him asleep on his bed like I had earlier, but I also saw Kana sleeping on top of him again. I started to giggle at the sight of them sleeping together. I left, deciding that it could wait until later when they were up. I left the invitation to Sakura and Ino's party on the nightstand before going out.
Kana's POV
I started to wake up and felt something or someone under me. I realized that I was lying on top of Neji again. I went a bit red in the face and I laid back down, but I couldn't go back to sleep. I tossed and turned forgetting that I was still on top of Neji. Something wrapped around my waist and I slightly jerked, then I heard a yelp of pain from under me.
Neji's POV
I felt a stinging pain in my stomach. It felt as if a bee had stung me in my side. I realized that I had fallen asleep with Kana on top of me. "Kana, did I scare you?" I asked, still in a little pain. "Yeah, a little and please don't do that." She said, still scared. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I said, calming her down. Her eyes then dart to something else. "Hey Neji, what's that on the nightstand?" Kana asked. "I don't know." I replied, picking up the envelope from the table next to my bed. I open the envelope, took the card out and read it aloud so Kana could listen.
Dear Neji, Kana, and Hinata,
You are invited to Ino and Sakura's sleepover party at 7:00 P.M tomorrow night. We'll have food and drinks for everyone. We're also going to have games too. Here are the things you will need to bring. One sleeping bag, a pillow, pajamas, and a change of clothes.
-Ino & Sakura
"Cool, this will be fun huh Neji?" She cheered, sounding excited about one of Sakura and Ino's wacky sleepovers. "I don't know why you're excited for one of Ino and Sakura's wacky sleepovers." I said, not really excited. "Well um, I've never actually been to a sleepover party before and if I did go I would have to leave early. So I was wondering if you would please come and stay with me?" She asked sweetly and with that smile I can't get enough of. I sigh. "Okay, I'll go with you." I gave in, knowing that I wouldn't have won anyways. "Oh thank you Neji." Kana squealed, giving me a big hug in thanks. "Okay Kana, you can let go of me now." I said, feeling like I was going to die. "Oh, sorry Neji." She laughed as she let go of me. "It's okay." I said as I put the invitation back into the envelope and sat it down on the nightstand. "So, when is it?" She asked curiously. "It said that it was Saturday at 7:00 P.M." I said, noticing that it was tomorrow night. "That's tomorrow!" She said excitedly. "Hey Neji, do you know what time it is right now?" She asked with a curious voice. I turned my head towards the clock blinking the numbers 7:05 in the evening. "It's about 7:05 P.M. Why?" I asked. "I was just wondering." She said. "Oh, okay. Well, it will be dinner time soon." I said, looking at the clock once more.
After dinner, Kana had a big grin on her face. "That was so good. I'm stuffed." Kana said as she rubbed her stomach smiling. "I bet you are since you ate that one whole plate of food." I laughed sarcastically. "I know that you're only using sarcasm Neji. By the way, I was wondering if it was okay if I slept with you tonight?" She asked out of nowhere. I faintly blush without her noticing. "Okay Kana, but only tonight." I sternly pointed at her. I'm trying not to get too attached to her and vise versa. "Okay, thanks Neji." She said, giving me another big hug like she did earlier. I sighed to myself.
Kana's POV
Later on that star filled night, Neji and I went to his room and went to bed, but I was still excited about tomorrow. When the morning came, we all got up and dressed. We then headed to the dining room to eat. "Morning Hinata." I yawned. "Sounds like you didn't get much sleep last night Kana." Hinata said, looking at me. "I know. I didn't sleep that much last night because someone couldn't stop talking in their sleep." I answered when I saw Neji walking in the room. "Who couldn't stop talking in their sleep?" Neji asked, starting to put food on his plate. "You of course. All I heard was you saying "I can't wait to go to Ino and Sakura's Party tomorrow so I can find out if I get dared to do any-" Before I could finish what I was saying, Neji put his hand over my mouth.
Neji's POV
When I was walking in the dining room to get breakfast, I heard Kana saying something about me talking in my sleep. I quickly went to cover her mouth before she could say anything else. "Heji, an u ove or and off ov I outh ow lease?" Kana asked, trying to talk with my hand over her mouth. "What did you say Kana?" I asked, not knowing what she said in the first place. I took my hand off of her mouth. "I said, Neji can you move your hand off of my mouth now please?" She loudly spoke in my ear. "Oh, okay." I said, finishing what I was doing before.
An hour before the party, I watched an excited Kana pack her things. After a moment, I went to finish packing my stuff too. It took me about half an hour to finish packing my clothes and things. When I got done packing, I went to go and see if Kana was ready when I heard someone knock on my bedroom door. I stopped what I was doing and went to the door to open it. When I opened the door, I saw Ino standing there with an excited expression on her face.
Ino's POV
When Neji opened the door to his room, I saw a glimpse of Kana doing something in the background. "Hey Neji, are you guys ready to go to my house?" I asked, looking around his room. "Yeah, Kana's still zipping her bag and Hinata's somewhere around here." Neji said as Hinata came around the corner. "Oh, there you are Hinata." I said as she walked up to me. "Oh um, hey Ino." Hinata said, playing with her hands as usual. "I'm done!" Kana yelled from across the room.
As we were walking to my house, I know I could have sworn I saw Kana and Neji holding hands. "So Ino, what are we going to do at the party?" Kana asked, excited. "Well, the games are a surprise and we're also going to watch a movie then everyone will probably talk for a while before bed." I explained our plans. "It sounds like a lot of fun." Kana smiled. We finally got to my house and went inside to find everyone talking and messing around. "Okay everyone, the games are fifth teen minutes in heaven and truth or dare. So, what game is first?" I asked, announcing the games. "Fifth teen minutes in heaven." Almost everyone shouted. "Fifth teen minutes in heaven it is." Sakura announced. "Everyone gather in a circle." I motioned everyone.
Everyone gathered in a circle awaiting further instruction. "I have two bowls filled with colored paper and first the men are going to pick out a color. The second bowl is for me to draw the girl's color. The girls will be blindfolded and wait for their partner to go in the closet. Got it, good." Sakura explained.
Kana's POV
Sakura held out a bowl for the guys to grab a color. They all rushed to get a small piece of the colored paper. After all the slips were taken, the boys sit back down. Neji takes back his place beside me again. Ino comes in after, tying cloth over our eyes so no one will know who their partner is. "Now that that's done, I'll take out the first slip." Sakura said, fumbling around with the colored slips in the bowl. "Green!" Sakura announced. No words were spoken, unless you wanted to get scolded that is. Yet, you could hear the person's footsteps. The sounds of the door opening and closing could be heard distinctly. Once the door was shut, all was silent until Sakura came up behind all the girls making them chose a color until the one called was chosen.
A few more footsteps were heard and the door was open and shut again. Eventually the door creaked opened and footsteps sounded before ceasing. It wasn't another few seconds before you heard the sound of Sakura's voice. "Blue!" She called. And so the routine went on as two more colors were called after that. I wish I knew what was going on. I wanted, no, I needed to know if Neji's colored slip had already been called. I don't know why, but I had this big huge sinking feeling in my stomach. I felt my face heat up and my eyes well up with tears. Just as I was about to let them fall, I heard another color being called. Maybe it was the last one. I don't know, but I'll find out soon.
She put the bowl in front of me even though I couldn't see it. I guided my hand in the bowl and pulled out the last remaining color since that's the only one I could find. Sakura took the piece out of my hand and I felt Ino take her place and she lead me to the closet. The door opened and closed quickly behind me. I tried to feel my way around the small enclosed area that I was encased in.
I felt a foot when I was about to sit down. I lost some of my balance and fell forward. My hands grabbed onto what felt like someone's shoulders. The shadowed person pulled on my hips forcing me to sit down on their lap. He wrapped his arms tightly around me pulling me close to him. On the inside I shook with fear. This guy wasn't Neji at all. Who could he be? Surely not that weird kid on my team. Probably not. He would have said something by now.
I didn't know what to do and I really didn't want to move. Lucky for me he just kept me in the same spot I got stuck in when I came in. "Well hey there cutie. It's nice to actually get to meet you." The guy finally spoke, breaking the awkward silence. "Who are you and what do you mean by that?" I asked, holding up my guard. "You're Kana right?" The mystery guy asked, yet still avoiding to tell me his name. "Yeah, how do you know that?" I questioned again. "Your scent is quite strong and I've also seen you around the village a few times." He said. Well that's strange. "Oh." I paused for a moment. "Now tell me, who are you?" I resurfaced the question again. "Kiba." He answered with a smirk I'm sure. "Well Kiba, what do you wanna do, sit here like this or talk until they free us?" I asked Kiba, still unwillingly sitting in his lap. "Actually, I was kinda thinking something like this." Kiba said, sounding quite pleased. "Huh?" I asked, puzzled. Kiba didn't say anything after that. Instead, he just got closer to me. His hot breath beating on my face.
Kiba ran his fingers through my hair playfully until his face was hovered over mine. He nipped at my cheek with his bottom teeth then slightly kissed that spot. I froze in place letting him have his way with me. I felt him sniff me, his nose trailing against my tender skin. Most likely taking in my scent.
Kiba soon lingered over my shoulder and neck before leaning down and attacking it. I held my head back cringing, yet it wasn't in pain. I ended up letting him do this for the rest of the time. I didn't have much of a first impression for this guy named Kiba. He was nice and really sweet. I've seen him around the village and he always had this cute little dog with him. I'd like to be just friends with him. Only, the way he's acting he doesn't seemed to be interested in that option.
Kiba soon stopped kissing at my neck and kissed on my cheeks and forehead, finger combing through my hair. I tilted my head down at a small angle, my tears again threatening to fall. Kiba quit what he was doing and hugged me close to him. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, then buried my head under his chin trying to calm my cries. "Hey, what's wrong, are you alright?" Kiba asked, kissing my head and rubbing my back soothingly with his hand. "T-This." I choked out, trying the best I could not to cry. "What do you mean 'this'?" He asked, confused. "You kissing on me." I answered, still fighting to hold back my tears from falling. "Oh, I'm so sorry." Kiba sighed, then hugged me tighter. The moment I felt better, I heard a knock on the door. "Times up!" Sakura's bubbly voice chimed through the door. I looked up at Kiba and he nodded.
We helped each other out of the closet and went back to our seats in the circle. "Wow Kiba, you must be pretty good with the girls." I overheard Naruto say, knowing he was referring to me. I heard Kiba snicker, not making a comment. I sighed, waiting for whatever else the girls had planned for tonight. "Okay everyone, listen up!" Ino shouted, getting everyone's attention. "I wrote down the names of all the people who came. Now I will pick a random name out of the basket." Sakura explained. Sakura picked a name and said, "Shikamaru." "Awe man, why does it have to be me first? This is such a drag." Shikamaru complained. "Just truth or dare somebody." A sweat drop formed on Sakura's forehead. "Fine. Hinata, truth or dare?" He asked, pointing to the girl with blackish blue hair. "Um, d-dare." Hinata answered shyly. "I dare you to kiss Naruto." Shikamaru smirked. Hinata blushed a deep red and then lightly kissed Naruto on the cheek. I gotta hand it to her. Shika never said where to kiss him.
Sakura put her hand back into the bag and picked out another name. "Naruto!" She shouted. "Huh, me?" Naruto asked, dumbfounded. "Yes Naruto, you idiot." She said, rolling her eyes at him. "Uhhhh, Kiba, truth or dare?" Naruto asked Kiba, who was smiling to himself. "Dare." Kiba smirked. "Uh, hmm, let's see. I dare you uh to, um, make out with that girl sitting next to Neji." Naruto said, pointing to me. Kiba chuckles slightly and makes his way towards me. He bends down next to me and whispers in my ear. "You don't have to really make out with me. We can just make it look like it if you want." Kiba whispered, his hot breath beating in my ear with every word he said. I nodded my head in agreement and let him lean in to kiss me. Kiba snaked his arms around my shoulders and I gently placed mine on his neck line. His lips touched mine and we began to pretend to make out. We were kissing, but not making out like everyone else thought.
A few seconds later, we let go and things went back to somewhat normal. I turned to Neji, who was surprisingly, still sitting by me. I stared at him, trying to find out what he felt by what he had to witness only a moment ago. But he wasn't showing anything. Typical Neji, always shielding his thoughts and emotions away from others.
The game continued on. I had to do a few dares, but nothing compared to the one Kiba and I had to do. I stuck to doing mostly truth questions. One of the dares I had to do was kiss Neji, but since the kiss wasn't specified, I just kissed him on the cheek. The same thing later happened to Neji. The young night grew older and our hosts put in a movie so that by the time we were ready for bed we could go to sleep.
While everyone was getting ready to watch the movie, I slipped out of the house quietly and shut the door. I walked around aimlessly through the village. I didn't know what I was doing, I just wanted to get away from everything for a while. I would return when I felt like everyone was sound asleep. I hadn't passed many shops when it started to drizzle. I didn't think much of it and just kept walking on towards nowhere in particular.
By the time I got to the forest, the rain started to pour. The rain began to soak me from head to toe as I walked along the path. Thunder roared throughout the sky. I knew it was probably a bad idea, but I needed to shake some of this rain off. I focused some chakra to the bottoms of my feet and began walking up the tree. Once on top, I started gliding through the trees. For a while it was working, then the lightning came blazing through and tonight it was horrible. Crap. I was running out of trees to jump on.
On the last branch I jumped off, but one of the strikes of lightning that wasn't suppose to hit anything, hit me. The pain seared through my body, yet I kept running to the end of the clearing until I collapsed. The rain soaked my quivering body as darkness pulled me in. I managed to say one word or rather a name before blacking out. "Neji."
Neji's POV
Sakura and Ino played a movie for everyone to watch until they fell asleep, but I decided not to. I couldn't stop thinking about Kana. Are we more than just friends now? It sure feels like it at times. Speaking of which, where was Kana? I haven't seen her since those silly pathetic games that cause nothing but trouble and nonsense drama between people. I scanned around the room, but saw nothing. I sighed. That mutt better not have anything to do with this. Even though he was my friend I still had to know.
I walked over to him and lightly cleared my throat. "Hey Neji, what's up?" Kiba answered with a toothy grin. "Have you seen Kana?" I asked plainly, trying not to show too much emotion. "No, why, did something happen to her?" Kiba asked, his smile fading. "I don't know. I haven't seen her since the movie started." I stated simply. Kiba sniffs around for a second. "She went outside. Most likely to take a walk. It helps clear the head ya know." He said. "Thanks." I said with a nod of my head, about to head out the door. "Neji." Kiba called. "Yeah?" I asked. "You want me to come with you? I mean her trail is very faint." He suggested. He's right. I'm going to need help whether I like it or not. "Alright." I give in, allowing Kiba to tag along. The two of us quietly slipped out the door, not disturbing anyone inside watching the movie. I followed Kiba through the still pouring skies and eventually his canine like nose led us to the forest.
Even though the lightning and the thunder had lessened, we didn't take the chance going through the treetops. Wherever Kana is, she's in deep. Despite our running, Kiba and I were still getting wet. The rain was still so thick. The tie at the end of my hair ended up coming loose so I had to discard it in my pocket. Practically at the end of the path, I could see Kana sprawled on the wet forest floor. The sight of her like that shocked me. I laid a hand on Kiba's shoulder. "Thank you, Kiba." I said, feeling grateful for his help. Kiba just nodded his head.
Kana was ice cold and drenched from the rain from head to toe. The rain started to die down to a simple shower as we made our way out. We decided it was best to take her straight to the hospital. Even if we would have taken her back to the house, Sakura would have already suggested that being a medical ninja in training.
Moments after walking into the hospital, people started gasping and rushing to help us. I reluctantly let them take her from me. I watched as they laid her on a bed and placed a breathing mask over her sweet, damp face. A lady came up from behind us placing blankets over our shoulders. I nodded to her in thanks and sat down in one of the waiting chairs with Kiba.
Silence then fell around us for a while. "Tell me, what is she to you?" Kiba asked, breaking the silence. "A family friend." I said simply. "Are you sure she's more than just a family friend? You seem quite attached to her. More so than you want to show to others, yet you can't help it." Kiba said, explaining his reasoning. I sighed before answering. "I guess you could say that, but we've never talked about that kind of thing. I'm more of waiting on her to say something. It's her choice if she wants to be with me." I too explained my reasoning. "I understand. You want to be with her, but you're unsure if she wants to be with you. So you stay in the dark waiting for a reason to tell her." He said. "Exactly." I sighed, somewhat glad at least someone knew my feelings for her. Kiba starts to chuckle. "You're a lucky guy Neji. She's a great girl and kisser too if I might add." Kiba smiled, snickering at the last few words. "Hn." I mouthed, feeling a pang of jealousy. "You know, she didn't even really want to kiss me. She just gave a small show for the crowd. I even cheated on the dare Naruto gave me for her sake. I respected her choice. I respect both of you." Kiba said, truly sincere. "Thanks, I appreciate it. But even so, if she did want you, I'd have to respect that against my own desire. I can't make her be with me if she doesn't want to." I told him. "In all honesty, she does want to be with you." He said. "How do you know that?" I asked, confused. "I could see it in her eyes every time she glanced over at you. She's afraid of your answer, just like you are of hers." Kiba smiled a little. "So." I muttered. "It's like that saying, 'She likes him and he likes her. Everyone knows it, but them'. You should tell her when you get the chance." Kiba smirked. "Yeah." I smiled a little. After that conversation we stayed silent and just enjoyed each other's company.
I started to stare out into space when I noticed Kiba had fallen asleep. I sighed wondering when we would be allowed to visit her. A nurse later came by answering my prayers and told me we were allowed to visit Kana. I shook Kiba awake, telling him to come on and he followed. The nurse opened the door for us and we slowly walked in.
I looked out the window next to her bed. It was still pitch black out there. I sat in the chair next to her sleeping form and smiled. "Hey Neji, I'm gonna go back to the party and let everyone know what's going on. If they're still up that is." Kiba whispered, walking over to the window. "They're probably not, but thanks for coming with me." I thanked him with a nod as he nodded back, disappearing into the darkness outside. I sat there stroking her hair, thinking about what it'd be like to have her holding me in her arms. She looked so calm and peaceful. Her chest rose rhythmically up and down as she slept.
She started making a little noise and I quickly took my hand away. She turned her head to one side to another before landing her sight on me. "Neji?" Kana asked in surprise. I smiled at her. "W-Where am I?" She asked, starting to get confused. "The hospital. Kiba and I brought you here." I simplified. "W-What happened?" She questioned. "Apparently you were hit by lightning in the forest." I answered simply. "I, I'm so sorry Neji." Her eyes filled with tears as she leaned over the bed to hug me. "It's alright." I coo, patting her back. "I love you." Kana muttered. "Hm?" I answered shocked, still holding her in my arms. "Please don't make me say it again." She whimpered. "I, I heard you. I'm just shocked." I said softly, gently rubbing her back. "I knew it, I knew saying it would be pointless." Kana cursed to herself. Okay then. I ignore her little outburst. I pull away for a moment and then crashed my lips to hers.
When I let go, I told her, I said, "Of course I love you too." I smiled, kissing her forehead. Kana blushed smiling back at me. "Now get some sleep princess." I grinned, placing her gently back on the bed as I watched her close her precious eyes. "Forever." She breathed. "Always." I whisper back. Kiba was right, we were more than just friends, even if it took us until now to realize it.
