I'm back from my soul search everyone. I thought a lot and decided to take down this fic that went by another name. Most of you remember it as Perseus Jackson Dusk Hero: Age of the Blade. I had to revisit my notes and my other draft documents for the story. Went through each and every draft until I came to a conclusion; I was doing shit. The story as you know will be centered around Percy Jackson, the only demigod child of Apollo. The story will skirt around canon. There will be major changes done to Camp Half-blood and the gods.

I'm really horrible at these announcement things so lets get to the story.

For those who read the previous version, chapter four and minor information involving THE DRAGONS will be changed.

And yes, I will update The R-Rated Hero's Son

CHAPTER 1

Percy

A grunt could be heard as a boy in his early-teens dodged the projectile-one that was meant to sever his head from the rest of his body.

The boy in question was handsome; strong jawline, high-cheekbones and an upturned nose. He had a dark surfer tan that resembled those of the Bahamas. His eyes were the most alluring thing about him, they were orange, like the sky when the sun set. Tinges of lavender, pink, and yellow could also be seen, resembling the colors of light receding in the late of day.

Many of the Divine world would know of him, as he was Perseus Achilles Jackson, a veteran to two quests, and son of Aurora Jackson and the son god himself, Apollo.

Percy, as most of his family and friends call him, rolled to the side as he dodged another spike aimed at him. He quickly steadied his breathe as he tried to understand the situation.

To his left, he could see his best-friend Cassandra Jackson, daughter of Poseidon, the retriever of Zeus' master Bolt and Golden Fleece weave around as she brought monsters to their doom with her blade Riptide.

On the other side, the furthest away from both him and Cassandra, Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus could be seen dueling it out with the monstrosity known as the Manticore. Percy was impressed. The way Thalia stood toe-to-toe against the Manticore was impressive. Blue arks of electricity surrounded Thalia in a protective coat as the Manticores spikes harmlessly bounced off her body.

The Manticore growled as it doubled its efforts.

Percy eyes turned towards his other companion who was guarding the cargo they came to retrieve. Two demigods, that both had silky-black hair and brown eyes that looked almost dark. In front of them stood a gorgeous girl with blonde hair and gray eyes. She switched between forms as she brought her dagger back and forth, driving and slashing through monsters, turning them into golden dust.

"Gah!" a voice cried out. Percy followed the origin of the sound and gasped. Thalia laid on the ground, with her arm bent at an angle it shouldn't have with the Manticore looming over her damaged body with a sinister smile on his face.

"It's been an honor fighting the great daughter of Zeus. Tell Lord Hades the Manticore sends his greetings," the Manticore gleefully said as he took aim on Thalia, his spiked tail turning to her.

Percy reacted quickly and tagged on his sun-shaped necklace. Instantly a purple recurve bow with yellow runes engraved on it materialized in his hands. He quickly took aim as an arrow materialized on the pulled back string.

Before he could notch an arrow, a hunting horn sounded.

Momentarily distracted, Percy turned to the forest behind and watched at least more than a dozen girls dressed in silver release arrows.

"No! You're not supposed to interfere. This is against the ancient laws" the Manticore growled out.

"Monsters are within my domain of the hunt. And you, Manticore, are a monster." Percy couldn't exactly pinpoint the origin of the voice, but could tell it came from one of the girls in silver.

"Permission to fire Milady?" a girl with silver circlet asked. "Permission granted."

With that silver arrows rained from the sky, taking out every monster with inhumane precision and strength.

Percy weaved through the arrows, dashing at the now disturbed Manticore. His eyes moved to Thalia, oranges ones meeting electric blue ones. Without saying anything, Thalia summoned a large bolt of lightning, one that lit the heavens in great white flash.

Striking true, the bolt slammed into the Manticore, sending it tumbling towards the edge of the cliff.

The Manticore groggily got up from the shook it received.

"You'll all pay. Lord Kronos will make sure of that," the Manticore growled out. "Especially you three," it hissed out, looking at Cassandra, Percy and the injured Thalia with barely uncontrolled rage. "But that's to say, I'm not going down without a fight."

The Manticore let out a monstrous roar as it morphed into a true beast of horror.

He didn't resemble the Manticore anymore-more of the Manticore with an upgrade.

It now resembled more of a Werewolf than a Manticore. It stood 8'feet with sharp claws and razor-sharp teeth. Glowing red eyes replaced the previously mismatched ones while dark-purple lines replaced whatever the creature called veins. And covering its body was a coat of black fur-something that seemed to almost blend with the night.

"This," the previous Manticore barked out, saliva dripping from its maw as red-headlights roamed around the gathered group, "Is the power of the Lord Kronos and his allies. Join us and such power can belong to you."

"Stand down Manticore, least you face my wrath!" a girl hissed out.

Percy turned to her and took an involuntary step back.

From first glance, she looked to be a normal child who was around twelve or so years old, and who had pale, alabaster skin, long waist-length, auburn hair and silver glowing eyes.

But for all the innocence of her appearance, Percy and the rest could recognize her for what she truly was beneath the fleshy shell she wore, she was goddess, a being of pure unaltered power, and he could see it from the way she moved and stared at the Manticore.

The aura surrounding her was intoxicating and suffocating at the same time. Her mere presence alone screamed power, respect and submission to her will.

Despite all this, she felt familiar to Percy. She reminded him of…

"Moon," Percy half-whispered. The goddess halted and gave him a brief glance, a hint of recognition flashing in her silver eyes.

"Your wrath," the Manticore said in a deep voice. "Here's a threat, attack me and I'll murder every single demigod here before you can get to me!" the Manticore threatened. To emphasize his point, white-jagged bone protruded from his spine as his eyes glowed brighter in cynical glee.

A wave of uneasiness went through the assembled demigods and silver-clad girls.

The goddess on the other hand just took on a silver hue. In response to the goddess, the air around them got thicker.

Percy stood shaking as he tried to control his heart beat. Heart, my heart beat. Symptoms include…tightness or pain in the chest…neck…back or arms…as well as fatigue, lightheadedness, abnormal heart beat and anxiety. Women are more likely to have atypical symptoms than men. Death…probably-no, I'm sure.

With all this in mind, Percy took aim at the upgraded Manticore.

His arrow took on a brown-ash glow, drawing attention from surrounding Parties including the Manticore.

A deep chuckle revibrated through the cliff-side. "If you truly believe you can kill me, go ahead," the Manticore said as he spread his arms wide open.

The goddess gave him a curious look, while the others, especially those donned in silver clothing muttered 'boys'.

Percy on the other hand gave the Manticore a dumb-look. "Your death wish dude. Don't blame me if you wake up in Tartarus," Percy coolly replied as he let his arrow fly.

Everyone watched with baited breathes as the arrow struck true. To everyone's shock, the Manticore quickly ripped the arrow of his chest and faced Percy. "As you can see boy, I can't be-"

The Manticore let out a gasped of pain as he clutched his chest, falling to his knees. "W-wh-what d-did…you d-do to me boy?" the Manticore rasped out. The onlookers watched with surprise at what was occurring. The goddess herself had no idea what was happening.

Percy simply shrugged and looked the Manticore right in his demonic eyes. "Kind of funny actually. It turns out with the right conditions and environment set, even monsters can succumb to a terminal illness," Percy replied with the profession of a doctor. "If you're wondering what it is your experiencing, that would be a Cardiac Arrest."

"One…Two…Three"

On the last count, the Manticores eyes rolled into his sockets as he slumped to the ground dead, slowing disintegrating, as he left behind gold dust.

Like I said, the difference will began at Chapter Four. The other chapters will be edited to be slightly longer. Probably 3k words to 4k.
