Finally, something has gone right for Quinn. They were able to extract the tumor and it didn't appear to have spread. The moment she rang the bell after her last chemo session she finally felt free and that alone is amazing, though the excitement didn't last very long.

"Are you kidding me?! You threatened my father more than once!" Santana rolls her eyes at the small woman on the other side of her island.

"They were just threats. I didn't actually do anything!" Rachel scoffs.

"I would say not allowing them to see our son constitutes, as doing something!"

Quinn watches the pair from her spot on the couch. They'd been arguing since they returned from Lima. Quinn isn't sure about what happened exactly but to her, it seems like Hiram and Santana were both wrong. The kids have been staying with Brittany and Rachel while Quinn recovers but one of them always brings them by for a visit and at this very moment, Quinn is really grateful Brittany hasn't brought them by yet.

"I said Leroy could see him!" Rachel rolls her eyes.

"Oh? So exclude my other father? That's acceptable?! Don't weaponize our child!"

"That bastard wants to exclude me from my kid's life, so why the hell not?!" Santana throws her hands in the air.

"Why are you even mad at me?! He's the one being a dick!"

"You're both being immature and unreasonable! This is stupid!" Quinn nods in agreement. It is pretty stupid.

"I don't give a fuck! I tried to be the bigger person and squash this for Benji but your father was being an ass!" Rachel's eyebrows knit together.

"Was he? Because after hearing both accounts, it sounds like you were the aggressor here." Santana scoffs.

"I'm the aggressor for standing up for myself?! That bastard -"

"Do not call my father a bastard!" Santana groans.

"Hiram, Can have all these fucking opinions about me but I'm the wrong one? He doesn't like me. Whatever, I don't fucking care but when you involve my son, I have a fucking problem! He had no fucking right saying what he did! If it weren't for me he wouldn't even have a grandson! Son of a bit-"

"Santana!" Rachel interrupts. Quinn can tell Santana is getting really upset so she decides to intervene.

"Santana, come here please." Santana rolls her eyes at Rachel before turning towards Quinn.

"Right now?" Quinn nods and Santana enters the living room while Rachel rubs her temples.

"Do you need something?" Quinn shifts her body enough that Santana has room to sit next to her.

"Just you." Santana's eyes roll.

"I'm kinda in the middle of something."

"I think the both of you could use a break." Quinn pats the small space on the couch near her stomach and chest. Begrudgingly, Santana sits down and Quinn gently rubs her thumb along the column of her lower vertebrae.

"I'm fine." Quinn rests her head on Santana's thigh before speaking.

"You are in a sense, but that's not what I'm talking about."

"I'm just fucking annoyed, okay? I can't be nice to anyone who thinks I shouldn't have my son. I'm not a bad mom...right?"

In a flash, Santana switches from angry to vulnerable, and now Quinn understands. She's afraid. She's afraid she isn't a good mother and someone mentioning taking her child because of it must have put the icing on the cake.

"You're a fantastic mother, baby. You know that. He has a grudge so you have to take it with a grain of salt. Don't doubt yourself because of him." Santana sighs softly, but Quinn notices her body relax.

"I'm not. I know I'm awesome but damn...I just don't get it. I normally do something to be disliked but my relationship with his daughter has nothing to do with him. This is so fucking stupid." Santana sighs.

"It is...and it wasn't okay that you didn't let them see Benji. He's innocent, San."

"I know...but what if he starts lying to him about me?"

"You can't punish him for something you think could happen."

"He called me a fucking neanderthal!"

"But you know you aren't. All this bad blood won't benefit Benji." Santana sighs heavily.

"So I'm just supposed to forget everything?" Quinn shrugs. She wasn't sure how this could be resolved but it need a conclusion. For Benji's sake.

"You want Benji to have a healthy family dynamic, right?" Santana sighs.

"Possibly." Quinn rolls her eyes at the obvious lie. God, Santana can be so stubborn.

"So that means making sacrifices. You might just have to start over...and apologize." Santana looks at Quinn flabbergasted.

"Apologize?! I'm not apologizing to that old bitch!" Quinn's hand travels further up Santana's spine.

"Excuse me?!" Rachel chimes but Quinn quickly continues.

"Sacrifice, baby. Think about it, okay? What matters the most to you? Your pride or your son?" Santana looks remorseful for a second and Quinn knew Santana was reconsidering her actions.

"Shouldn't you be relaxing or whatever and not coaching me?" Quinn chuckles.

"I'm talented enough to do both."

"We can continue this conversation later. I need to go and we're getting nowhere." Rachel tosses their way as she approaches the couch.

"Bye Quinn, If you need anything don't hesitate to call. I'll check in on you later." Quinn nods and sends Rachel a small smile. They're still not friends…per se but Quinn is coming around.

"Goodbye Santana." Santana turns to glare at the woman but it doesn't last long since Rachel didn't actually do anything.

"Bye. I'll call you later to finish our conversation." Sending a head nod, Rachel swiftly turns on her heels and exits the house.

"The conversation you've been having for the past...five days?" Santana's eyes return to Quinn.

"How do you even have the energy to argue for that long?"

"That's nothing. We've argued for three weeks straight before." Quinn's eyes widen but she feels like that shouldn't have been a surprise. Both women were as stubborn as bulls, especially when they feel they were right.

"I'll never understand how you two lasted as long as you did."

"When you figure it out, let me know. Moving on though," Santana gently rakes her fingers through Quinn's hair.

"How are you feeling?"

"Fine really. I have the most energy I've had in months and I can't enjoy it because I'm recovering from surgery but I'm not complaining. I'd choose this over everything else I've been through."

"Me too."

"I seriously can't wait for my eyebrows to grow back though." Quinn's fingers ghost over the tiny specks of hair over her eyes.

She'd lost a significant amount of hair, mostly from the middle of her head but it didn't bother her as much as losing her eyebrows did.

"You're still smokin' without them." Santana winks and Quinn chuckles.

"I look like a naked mole rat."

"A sexy naked mole rat." Quinn shakes her head with half a smile.

"Wanna know the best part of not needing cancer treatments anymore?" Santana's eyebrow lifts.

"Actually having an appetite. I'm starving." Quinn almost whines and Santana laughs softly.

"What do you want? I'll make you something really quick before I go."

"I don't need anything. Sophia is coming by for lunch so I'm good." Santana's face scrunches in confusion.

"Here? Like my house?" Quinn gives her a funny look.

"Uh...yeah? I thought I told you." Not having the knowledge of Quinn's visitor isn't what Santana was interested in.

"Since when did you two get that close?"

Santana has been finding that Quinn has omitted a lot of information and she can't understand why. Since her treatments, Quinn has gotten forgetful which is fine but what if it's not forgetfulness?

"Is that not okay with you?"

"You can have friends, obviously. I just didn't think you were that...friendly." Quinn's eyes narrow slightly.

"Are you implying something?" Santana pauses.

Was she implying something? She trusts Quinn and she's never given her a reason not to...but something about this isn't sitting well with her.

"Does she still have a crush on you?" Quinn's face falls flat, stating her answer matter of factly.

"No. If she did, I wouldn't be inviting her to my house." Santana looks away before nodding.

"Are you sure you don't have an issue with this? Because I can cancel." Signing, Santana shakes her head. She knows she has a jealous streak and her best option here is to reign it in.

"It's cool. Have fun while I go...adult." Quinn chuckles.

Santana had a few errands to run but at least she doesn't feel the need to rush now since Quinn won't be alone.

"I think you'll be okay and the faster you get done, the faster you come back to me...and our wedding planning." Santana smiles at the thought of coming back to Quinn, not the planning.

"Right...we can talk about that when I get back," She leans down, placing a kiss on Quinn's forehead, nose then lips.

"I love you. I'll be back." Quinn moves away so Santana can stand.

"I love you too."

Soon after Santana left the house, Sophia showed up with their lunch and instantly improving Quinn's mood.

"I feel like I haven't really enjoyed food in forever." Quinn smiles at the other woman as she finishes her sandwich.

"Well now you have a lifetime to savor every bite." Sophia smiles before a squeal escapes her lips and she engulfs Quinn in a surprise hug.

"I'm so happy you're okay!" Chuckling softly, Quinn carefully returns the hug.

"Me too."

"Quick! First thing you're gonna do when you're healed?" Sophia asks excitedly, pulling away.

"Anything with my family and friends. I just want to see them smile with genuine happiness...I feel like we've all just been smiling through the pain you know?" Sophia nods.

"I get it and that's super sweet by the way. Make sure not to lose my invite." She winks with a giggle.

"You'd be the first one I call," Sophia smirks.

"Better be...so, I'm gonna be honest. Kinda disappointed the kids aren't here." She pouts.

"I'll make it up to you. I have at least ten more videos from Lima of them just being adorable."

"I can't! I don't need any more baby fever." Quinn chuckles.

"Spend a day with those two and I promise you'll be cured of that." Sophia smiles, resting her hand on Quinn's knee.

"Honestly, that thought might've just done the trick. Maybe I just miss the fun of making them?"

"I want to change my answer about what I'm doing when I'm healed." Sophia chuckles.

"Jumping back in the saddle huh?"

"The second I'm cleared."

"I still expect an invite." Her head tosses back in laughter, Quinn joining in.

When Santana returned, she fully expected to only find Quinn in her house. Not Sophia. She'd been gone for four hours, why the hell was this woman still here? And she's not in the best mood so meeting Quinn's new buddy isn't on the list of things she wants to do right now.

"I can't believe it took this long for us to meet." Santana fakes a smile, hoping to make this interaction as short as possible.

"Yeah…" Santana wishes they'd met a lot sooner because as much as she hates to admit it, Sophia is gorgeous and she was just alone in her house with her fiancé for hours…

"Why is that Quinn?" Quinn shrugs from her seat.

"I knew you'd meet eventually."

"True. I'd love to stay and actually talk but I've already been trapped here for four hours." Quinn smirks at Sophia's teasing tone.

"I didn't hear you complaining." Sophia shrugs as she opens the front door. This playful, comfortable interaction between the two does nothing for Santana's jealousy.

"Guess it was good company. Later Q," She turns to Santana.

"It was nice meeting you." Santana smiles as Sophia leaves the house.

"Did you have -"

"Why was she here so long? And why is she so hot?" Quinn looks at her curiously.

"...I don't know how to respond to that, but we were having a good time. Are you upset?" Santana takes a deep breath, not wanting to upset Quinn. It was just her jealousy showing its face.

"No. I just thought you guys were having lunch." Quinn feels like Santana isn't telling her the truth.

"We did have lunch. You're sure you're okay?" Santana nods, walking into the living room.

"I'm tired so I'm just gonna take a nap." Santana quickly places a kiss on Quinn's forehead before disappearing into their bedroom. Whatever she's feeling right now doesn't need to be addressed. At least not until Quinn has recovered.
