CHAPTER 4

Nancy Bobofit

RING!

Nancy groaned as she slammed her fist on the alarm clock. She groggily got up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. It was Thursday, a day since Cassandra and the rest left for the demigods.

She gave a loud yawn before she stretched her, visible cracks being heard as her muscles and bones relaxed.

Her eyes went around her shared room in the Hermes cabin and took in the little things they had. There posters of; Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Placed on a shelf were there favorite novels…which of course were written in Ancient Greek, something that her and her sisters were thankful for. In the corner of the room was a telescope placed next to their ebony study table, that had a few drawing papers littered on its surface. Placed at the fronts on their beds were chests filled with their belongings. Seeing as this was the Hermes Cabin, the chests had locks on them.

Then, carefully placed on the wall were pictures of her and her half-siblings. Most of them were taken in Camp half-blood.

Nancy gave one last yawn before she hoped off her bed. She stared at the five other beds in the room that were currently occupied with the sleeping forms of her sisters. Unlike her sisters, who were gifted blonde hair like their father, Nancy was the odd one out with ginger hair. Her siblings-mostly and usually her brothers-teased her about being a red head, something Nancy ignored because she was proud red head.

Nancy took to her chest and retrieved her toiletries and left for the girl's showers.

Nancy walked back into her room with a towel wrapped around her lithe body. She didn't bother to wake up her sisters, something she knew would be ineffective in the end. They always got up around eight. Unlike them, Nancy preferred having the showers to herself and it helped that she didn't have to wait in line to use them, something that was a natural occurrence in every cabin…well, except from Zeus, Poseidon and Hera's cabin.

Nancy made sure the door was locked-not wanting any of her half-brothers to walk in on her changing. Satisfied, she let the red towel fall from her body and got changing. She wasn't worried about any of her sisters waking up and seeing her naked because it wouldn't be the first or the last time. After all, it was a shared room, meaning they usually got dressed in each other's company.

When Nancy was done, she walked to the full body mirror in her room and checked herself over.

Her hair fell to her shoulders in layered waves, cutely framing her freckled splashed face. Her full lips, along with her sparkling blue eyes made themselves known on her heart shaped face.

She wore black denim shorts, red vans and a red hoodie with picture of a black cat on it. On her arms were silver cuffs- a gift from her father-made of celestial steel, making it the only one in existence.

Celestial steel was not divine in nature like it's counter parts- Celestial bronze, Imperial gold, Stygian iron or Atlantad gold. The cuffs worn by Nancy were normal mortal steel, enchanted by the magic goddess Hecate and crafted by the blacksmith, Hephaestus. The cuffs were a way in which the goddess and god paid off their debts to the messenger god.

Then, strapped to her waist, was another gift from her father. The lasso, just like the cuffs, were enchanted and made by the same goddess and god. Unlike the cuffs, the lasso was made of thin strips of celestial bronze and the acclaimed celestial steel. Meaning the lasso was capable of harming mortals, monsters, half-bloods, nature spirits and immortals alike. A very unnatural weapon for a half-blood to use…but yet suits the half-blood daughter of Hermes.

Before leaving, she placed her locket around her neck. It was heart-shaped and made of celestial bronze. It contained a picture of herself, Cassandra and Lou Ellen, a daughter of Hecate.

Nancy stepped out of the Hermes cabin and made a bee-line for the forests that surround Camp half-blood. Usually, the first campers to get up would be the Apollo cabin. But during winters, they were lazy and got up around the same time the rest of the Camp did.

The sun was on the horizon, gently illuminating Nancy's path as she continued her trek through the woods. Usually campers would only be in the woods if they were looking for monsters to fight. In Nancy's case, she was heading towards a meditating sight. She wasn't at all worried about the monsters.

Nancy hummed as she arrived at the meditating sight.

Floating in the air, were purple letters Nancy had assigned to magic. All around her, energy hummed as it resonated and synchronized with the nature magic that existed in the world around. The trees and other plants in the vicinity glowed an ocean deep blue, greatly contrasting with the letters that gave off the color purple.

Despite the color the magic seemed to give off, this part of the forest remained dark, like it was afraid to let the light in. Seated in the center of all this, in a triangle that surrounded by sigils and rune stones was the daughter of Hecate herself, Lou Ellen Blackstone.

Nancy stood back and waited for Lou to finish her ruminating. She wouldn't dare disturb while in such a state. The bruises Cassandra had received at the hand of the daughter of Hecate, served as a remainder to never disturb her.

She usually done about right now. Maybe she's learning something new from that ghost-magician sorceress friend of hers. Nancy thought, as she stared at her closest friend.

Lou Ellen Blackstone was…special. Just like most children of Hecate, she was reserved. She preferred the comfort books, something she sought in the Camp library. She kept to herself and was usually seen reading something in the comfort of darkness' embrace. Pertaining to her friend circle, it was quite small. She usually hanged around Nancy and Cassandra and a few of her half-siblings. Sometimes she could be seen around the daughter of Zeus and son of Apollo.

Despite her unobtrusiveness, many Campers knew not to push her. It was a well-known fact that she was the most powerful child of Hecate. For she, unlike the rest of her siblings, had inherited all of her mother's domains, something that was unusual but not rare, for they were other examples in the Camp like Nancy and Drew.

The letters began to swirl, like they were in an invisible tornado, signaling the end of Lou's meditation. Then, in a blink of an eye, the letters rushed at Lou and collided with her skin. On impact, the letters were absorbed and sent back into Lou's magical reserves. The glow from the trees and plants resided as they too went back to Lou, rushing like a river heading towards a waterfall.

Lou gave out a sigh as she let her hold on darkness reside, letting the rays from the sun hit this part of the forest once again.

"So, how did it go with your ghost- enchantress lady? Learn anything new?" Nancy called out, chirpy as ever.

Lou tilted her to the side before she levitated off the ground and faced Nancy, legs still crossed in her meditation position.

"I don't think Morgana enjoys being called 'ghost-enchantress lady'," Lou replied in a toneless voice as she floated closer to Nancy.

Nancy pouted before she smiled, "Why not? It's not like she can do anything about me calling her that."

Lou quirked an eyebrow and stared at her friend. "I believed I've mentioned that not even death can hold a powerful necromancer like Morgana. All she needs is a vessel for her to turn your life into Tartarus," Lou bluntly supplied.

To help prove her point, Lou asked her half-sister for help. "My friend needs help in remembering not to insult daughters of night by calling them 'ghost-enchantress lady'. A little scare will do."

"A little scare is all you ask, and a little scare she'll receive," Morgana quipped, her voice passing through in a whisper.

"Did you hear that?" Nancy asked, her voice an octave higher.

"Nope. Maybe it was the wind" Lou replied in a bored tone.

SNAP!

Both girls watched wide-eyed as a tree fell in between them. This was soon followed by a vicious howl of wind. The cruel sound was accompanied by the darkening of the forest. Both girls watched Shocked-Nancy more than Lou-as darkness swallowed the moon replacing it with a cackling skull. The green of the forest turned a bloody red as the cackling skull spoke.

"Roses are bloody red, Violets are gloom and dark, turn a table south and the coin turn ought," the skull song, its voice sounding in between a cat choking and a dog barking. Blood seeped from the trees like sap, falling on the soil in a drip-drip pattern. Born from the blood stains that painted the earth, grotesque skeletal arms with tiny bits of flesh hanging on them, clawed to the top of the earth. With them came the smell of Death. "Listen here little girls, the Notarmaur eats flesh and all while fully grinding bones. Teeth and nails scrap apart, but tear each other like flesh and butter. Warning comes first and teething comes, Night beware the Golomans howl!"

That was followed by a deep chuckle and a pop sound. A tsunami of darkness spewed from the demonic beings unhinged jaw and slammed into the girls.

Both girls let out screams as they held onto each other, screaming as the wave went over them.

Silence…

That's what followed…

Complete and utter, eerie silence…

Both girls peeled their eyes open and found themselves looking at a normal forest again with golden rays of light piercing through. Birds chirped and critters could be heard.

Lou was breathing heavily as she held onto a tear stricken Nancy.

"L-let's get out here," Lou stammered, shock and fear filling her voice. She couldn't believe that was what her sister considered to be a little scare.

"You're welcoming," Morgana supplied, her voice passing through the forest in a whisper.

Both girls shivered as they heard the whisper.

"I-I'll…n-ne-never call her that e-ever again," Nancy whispered as they made their way out of the woods, clutching each other.

Here you go!

I've introduced Nancy and Lou, characters that are going to play major roles in this story. The layout of Camp Half-blood will be different with the introduction of the Camp Library and other facilities. The internal designs of the cabins will be different too. Most of you noticed the close-knit relationship Lou, Cassandra and Nancy share. It's a friendship that hit of at the very first moment. Lou is the most level headed and serious of the group, Nancy is the sweetheart, Cassandra is the sarcastic lesbian who can't control her hormones.

About Celestial Steel, I pretty much explained it in the chapter. It's different from Luke's Backbiter. Mortal Steel enchanted to hurt the divine. It comes with its own magical properties.

Morgana and others like Yennifer will be there.

As far as the story is concerned, Artemis, Zoe and the person Cassandra will be in a relationship with will be the only Lesbians.
