I do not own Henry Danger or any of it's characters.

The elevators severe rumbles were white noise to the wearisome crew. They had grown numb to it's intensity, and after todays battle, they couldn't have given a care. Charlotte clenched her hand that concealed something she feared was worse than she had previously excused.

They had taken on a surprise attack while trying to relax in the park. It was early morning in the bloom of winter. Frost sparkled in the grass and crept up buildings. The rising sun sent crispy rays through the steam that puffed from chimneys.

Charlotte took a deep breath and watched the vapor escape her as she relaxed into the bench. She pulled her coat in close and gave into the sleepy sunlight on her face.

Henry, Ray, Jasper, and Schwoz squeezed onto the bench as well. If that wasn't enough to ruin the moment, they noticed about 6 dark figures approaching. The way they looked made their agenda quite clear.

Little did the muggers know who they were dealing with since the dynamic duo were not in their heroic disguises. It would have been traumatic for anyone else, but this gang had seen it all by now.

Charlotte got a few impressive hits in before Henry ripped the man away from her and pummeled him. The half a dozen men attempted escape after Ray had cleaned them out effortlessly.

They all took a synchronized sigh as they watched the unprepared crooks run away. Out of breath and bruised. They took a moment of silence to ground themselves.

"I knew those guys were evil right when I saw them. You know, there is scientific evidence to prove that people really can sense strong feelings in others. It's a subconscious sense that mirrors our emotions to others." said Schwoz in a moment of clarity.

"That is beautiful Schwoz." Charlotte complimented.

"Oh gimme a brea-". Ray was cut off by Henry when he noticed something shiny. He reached down to investigate.

"Hey. One of those guys had a knife." said Henry picking up the savage object from the perfect grass. His face twisted with distress. he took a serious pause and opened his worried mouth.

"It has blood on it... Who got cut?"

They looked around at each other with fearful glances. Everyone but Charlotte gave words of assurance that they were unscathed. This brought every curious eye wandering in her direction.

She had grabbed something to quickly wrap her hand but it was not holding up. She hid it behind her back explaining "The guy got my hand a little but I wrapped it and everything. Ill do a better job when we get to the man cave."

Jasper and Schwoz both inched forward with concern but Ray interrupted with a whiny urgency of getting back to the man cave. Trusting Charlotte, and being the easily distracted goofballs they were, they began their journey back. It was a very long walk and it would have been enjoyable exercise, if not for the turn of events.

Into the lair they dawdled, through the elevator doors. Their slumped shoulders and lazy groans told Charlotte that her sneaky behavior would go undetected. Henry and Ray plopped onto the couch, Schwoz curled up in a fetal position by the heater, and Jasper fell face down on the floor and immediately started snoring.

They all became fused to their seats for not 1 minute when Ray ruined the moment of relief.

"Alright, lets get to work."

"Noooooooo!!!

"No I can't, sorry."

"Not gonna happen."

"Tomorrow perhaps."

The lethargic bunch automatically replied, throwing whatever they could find at their heartless boss.

"Hey hey hey!" he yelped, flinching at the flying items.

"Fine ya twerps! Ill finish this work myself!"

"Alright alright, were sorry Ray. What are you working on?" Henry asked out of obligation.

"You don't really wanna know, your just being nice." he mumbled sadly.

"Come on buddy," Henry said standing up and patting his friend on the back as he led him over to his work. For 10 minutes or so they tinkered on with some silly invention.

It was meant to deliver snacks all throughout the man cave using cables hung from the ceiling. Obviously a high priority task.

"Hey Charlotte, wanna help me with something?". Now Charlotte was shaking and sweating.

Looking up to her he realized she was just sitting at the table with her hands under the table and a blank look on her face. He cocked his head with bewilderment.

She quickly responded in order to remain inconspicuous.

"Yeah sure, what's up?".

"Will you hand me that tool box over there? Sorry it's a little heavy though." he casually requested. She was about to be exposed no matter what happened and she knew it. There was nothing left to use but the truth.

"Um I can't. I mean..I dont think I should." she said with a nervous gulp. He stood to his feet with a concerned scrunch in his eyebrows. Henry was always very cool, so his reaction had everyone's undivided attention.

"Char what do you mean?". Now his voice carried caution and treaded softly. Before she could scrounge up a response he remembered her hand. The injury she had shrugged off earlier had been conveniently forgotten he realized as he connected the dots.

He knew her to take care of others before herself so often that attention of her own felt uncomfortable. He drifted toward her and reached under the table for her hand. He eased it over the countertop and slowly begun to open her palm.

The three curious others had now gathered closer to examine the girl. This is exactly what she didn't want. Tears streamed silently down her worn cheeks.

"Open your hand Char.". These gentle words brought her eyes up to his.

"It's ok." he mouthed with a slight smile of assurance. She loosened her grasp of the weak garment that disclosed the wound.

Henry cupped her small hands in his protective palms. What he saw horrified him. His face said enough to cause Ray to rush over and study her. He was a goof and sometimes a jerk, but when when things took a turn for the worse, they were always grateful Ray was around. He always knew what to do.

"Schwoz." he commanded in a disturbingly serious tone. Ray took her other hand and guided her gentlemen-like toward Schwoz.

He examined the injury and replied with absolute certainty that she would require stitches. The dam of tears in her eyes had about one twig keeping it from bursting. Schwoz continued to explain how simple it was and how it would be over quickly. He was sweet but it didn't help at all.

Ray assisted Schwoz bringing out his tools, leaving Charlotte standing alone. Henry practically tiptoed toward her and put a hand on her back, herding her back to the table. Jasper joined the others in the back room. He poked his head in and simply said, "Can I be of assistance?".

"No thanks Jasper." Ray uttered.

"Actually I could use Jasper, he's a qualified to be a nurse ya know. Some kinda training he took for something or some failed dream or something I don't know. Anyways, lets just hope he didn't lie about that."

"Hello, I'm standing right here. I can hear everything you guys are saying." Jasper grumbled as they waved away his retort.

Meanwhile Henry went back to work trying to seem nonchalant so that Charlotte wouldn't freak out. He sneaked a look up to her to see a very anxious girl with horribly shaky hands. His heart was officially shattered into a million pieces.

He pulled himself to his feet and just watched her move.

He sometimes found himself lingering on her appearance. He found her fascinating to look at when she was deep in thought. He walked over and slid into the couch.

He met her eyes in a way that asked if this was ok. She gave him a sweet smile in return.

He sat quietly with her and comforted her with his presence. Schwoz and the other guys came out with a cart of tools.

She sat straight up and shuffled in her seat. Her hands shook much worse now and Henry inched closer. Schwoz numbed her and she pursed her lips and shut her eyes. She relaxed when Henry put an arm around her.

Now that Schwoz had begun working on her, it took every piece of strength in her to contain her emotion. She bit her nail trying not to cry, but the tears escaped despite her efforts. The guys looked around at each other with stress.

Schwoz got up and left for a moment and told Charlotte to scoot to the edge of the couch so he could get the right angle. Ray knelt down to where she sat.

"It'll be ok Charlotte. Look he's almost done." comforted Ray as he motioned towards Schwoz. Schwoz took Rays place and finished up with an odd glowing device.

"There, now you should be able to shoot lasers out of your fingers." joked Schwoz. She chuckled through the tears in her throat.

Ray, Jasper, and Schwoz wheeled the tools back in the room and were busy cleaning up. Charlotte pulled her sleeves over her hands, yanking at them desperately. Her residual jitters were far from gone. Her hands shook roughly causing Henry to watch her uneasily.

She noticed his attention to the trembles.

"They won't stop." she whispered. He slid his hand onto her wrist lovingly. Their gaze into each others eyes were deep and Charlotte's mind raced thinking he might lean in.

The tender yet passionate affection he held for her radiated off of him.

"What do you sense Charlotte?" Henry spoke softly.

She was ready to surrender herself to the moment and let him sweep her up into it. She closed her eyes as he began to lean closer. Just then, the other boys came back in the room with noisy clings and clangs.

They carried piles of junk they wanted to add to the invention from earlier that had been so far forgotten by the two at this moment. They backed away but held eye contact.

There was a peace between them that filled there hearts with content. Not only a peace but a hope. A faith. Faith in the sense, that it would bring them together again.
