And now to the moment you all have (hopefully) been waiting for. Asta getting major Daddy issues ;)

Asta stared ahead of him at the man that was holding his friends captured. He felt the hand around his waist tighten with every passing second. Yuno as getting nervous, anxious even.

The man had been searching for him? But they saw each other not even ten years ago. He knew where to find him. So why didn't he come, if he knew? Did he think that he had moved to a different place? That he wouldn't be there anymore?

No, something about this situation just felt wrong. And it wasn't just the fact that his friends were tied up like that, or the grass that seemed to die in his presence. It was the look he was giving him. Asta didn't quite know how to say it, but he felt like a deer in the headlights.

"Asta" he heard Yuno mumble.

The teen looked up with slight confusion. Yuno wasn't even looking at him. He was still looking ahead at the man. His eyes were narrowed to the point where Asta couldn't even tell if they were open. The angle wasn't right for that.

"Yeah?" he whispered back.

"I want you to run and not look back" the taller teen hissed.

Emerald eyes looked back at the man just a few feet away from them. He wasn't sure. Really, he wasn't. He had never been the type of person to run from a fight. He didn't leave others to themselves. His job was to help others, and his boyfriend totally counted.

Asta felt nails digging into his skin, the others grip getting even tighter. Yuno wanted him to go and yet he didn't seem ready to let go. As if he was afraid something would happen if he did. But nothing would, because….

"No" the teen shook his head. "I'm not going anywhere."

"Asta-"

"No! Didn't you ask me to stay close to you? You wanted me to stay close, and this is exactly what I'm going to do" he smiled, taking the others free hand in his own and giving it a gentle squeeze.

But Yuno shook his head. "You don't understand! I promised! You need to go!"

Asta was surprised as he was shoved back just a little. He didn't know why, but Yuno had tried to push him back into the direction they just came from. He didn't understand anything anymore. What did he promise? And who asked him for that promise?

His chance to ask was cut short though, as the man began to laugh.

"Oh wow. Seems like everyone kept it a secret, didn't they? Can't say I'm surprised. That's just how humans are" he chuckled.

The teen looked back in surprise. Humans? Was this guy not a human? It did make some sort of sense. He had never seen a human with such an appearance. Not just the skin that was darker than the night itself, but also the red eyes. Asta had seen many eye-colors in his life, but red was not one of them.

A grin. "Over fifteen years and no one dared to speak the truth. How disappointing. But this gives me all the fun, doesn't it?"

"What are you?" he had asked the question before he could stop himself. Even if Mom taught him to never ask such questions, saying that they were inappropriate, he couldn't stop himself. Something was seriously wrong here.

The man hummed in thought. "There are many names for my kind. Some call us 'beings from the other world' others see us as fallen angels."

"A demon" Asta whispered.

"I prefer devil or Zagred" the demon shrugged.

Devil? Yuno thought that Asta was related to a demon, not a devil. Wait, was there a difference? He would have to find out later. For now, he had to concentrate.

"But I-I saw you on that day almost ten years ago. You seemed nothing like a devil" the teen exclaimed.

"And even more suspicious" Yuno hissed "is that devils can't exist in this world unless they steal a body."

Emerald eyes widened even more, a bit of fear crawling through his body. Did this guy actually kill someone to get their body, or was this person still alive? Did someone make a deal with him and allowed him to use their body?

"Indeed" Zagred hummed. "But there are a few exceptions. When we gather enough power during our time in the underworld, and we have the right kind of magic, then we are able to enter this world for a certain amount of time."

"Right magic? What is going on here?!" Noelle yelled. She still struggled to break free from her prison. But to no avail. The bindings were just to strong.

"Explaining that would take to long. I don't feel like explaining. What you should know though, is that last time I had stored my power for six years. It allowed me to enter this world for three days. Two years were enough to enter this world for one whole day. Now it has been nine years. This gives me almost five days" he grinned.

Asta took a deep breath. He had a bad feeling about this. Whatever was going to happen during the next minutes, he had faith in his friends and family. Nothing was going to change his mind.

"Those three days, you used them to find me and give me my Grimoire. Why?" he asked.

"Oh, there are many reasons for that. First off, I couldn't be sure where I would find you. Not after six years. And second, there was no one else who would've been able to give you your Grimoire" the devil explained.

He felt even more confused. Why was that devil the only person who could give him his Grimoire? Why wouldn't he have been able to receive one from the tower? The only reason was, that his Grimoire had not been in the tower in the first place. That the devil had had it since the beginning.

Asta didn't know if he should ask the devil any more questions. He began to ask himself if Yuno had been right. If he should leave. Because right now, he had the feeling that the devil was doing all of this just because of him. And if he left, well…

And yet he didn't dare to move. One wrong move could result in the death of one of his friends, if not all of them at once. Nothing made sense anymore.

The teen swallowed the lump in his throat, daring to question the devil a little more.

"I don't understand. Why did you have it in the first place?"

"Now you're asking the right questions!" the devil cheered. "Why did I have it? Well, beings like you and me don't get their Grimoire from a simple tower."

"Beings like…-" the teen whispered to himself, only to be interrupted.

"Enough!" Yuno screamed beside him. "You will let all of them go right now and leave this place!"

The devil only smirked, leaning his head to the side in a playful yet dangerous manner. "You command me? Let me tell you something boy"

Zagred raised his right hand, and it began to glow with a purple color. Before Asta realized what was going on, Yuno had already yanked him behind his own body, countering the spell with his own.

He heard a low growl from the other. Angry. Yuno was angry. Asta couldn't remember a moment where he had seen his boyfriend truly angry. Annoyed, yes. A little irritated, yes. But never angry. Not like this.

A scoff was heard from the devil as he lowered his hand just a little but keeping it high enough to attack again, if he wished to do so.

"There is nothing but time itself that can force me to leave this place."

"How long?!" Yuno yelled over his own wind, a protective barrier around them. But he couldn't protect their friends with it.

"Oh! I still have three days left! Finding you wasn't that hard" Zagred laughed, red eyes gleaming in delight. "But I have to admit that I didn't think these humans would fight back so hard."

A gesture to the people around them. To their tied-up friends and the witches of the forest who were just barely visible from their position.

"They are not important though. Important is that I still have enough time for the truth" the devil grinned, sharp teeth coming into view.

Asta took a deep breath. He didn't like where this was going. The truth this devil wanted to tell could be anything. And he didn't want to hear any of it. No matter if it would be the real truth or not.

Dad had once told him about devils. They were creatures from hell, from the other world. They lied and tricked people into believing everything they said. Asta knew he wasn't the smartest person in the kingdom, but he wasn't stupid enough to not believe what his own father said.

"No one needs your truth devil!" Vanessa yelled. Her fists were tightened but still held in place just like the rest of them and Asta began to wonder.

Why had the devil not attacked them yet? Why seemed it like the only thing he wanted right now was to talk?

"Oh, you'll want to hear this one. It is rather amusing, to me at least. You wanna hear it too, kid?" Zagred asked, blood red eyes staring into his own emerald ones.

No, he didn't. And yet, he did.

Beings like us…

This guy knew something about him. He knew why he was different. Why he possessed no magic. For all of his life, this was something he had always wanted to know. Something he had wondered and never found the answer to.

But he knew. The devil knew and Asta could see it by just looking at him. The teen had the urge to say yes, to just listen to the things the devil had to say. If it was the truth, he would decide for himself.

On the other hand though, the demon had this look in his eyes that Asta couldn't quite place. He bit his lip. It was up for him to decide that. He knew it.

But he shook his head. "No. I don't need to know any 'truth'. I know what I need to know. Now let my friends go!"

He felt how Yuno smiled down at him.

A chuckle was heard from the devil once again. "Everything? Now I'm sure that you don't."

The teen grumbled, finally pulling out one of his swords from his Grimoire, ready to fight. It didn't matter.

"I don't know who you think yourself to be, but right now you are my enemy. We won't ask again. Let. Them. Go!" he hissed.

"Who I am is much more than just an enemy. I am the only person willing to tell you the truth. About the lie you have been living you whole life!" the devil laughed.

Asta gripped his sword tighter. There was no lie. The life he had been living was his and nothing but what he wanted. Since he had been young Asta felt grateful to have a family that loved him. They were crazy, yes, but still loving and he couldn't ask for anything else.

The things people had been muttering about when he was young, talking about him not having magic despite of his heritage was nothing that bothered him. Ever.

And when he had met Henry that day, who told him about curses he had though that this was the reason. He had been cursed when he was a baby. Not like he ever asked his parents about it. They wouldn't tell him anyways. Only so he wouldn't get worried. Or get his hopes up that someone could lift the curse.

No, it wasn't a lie. It was weird and less than normal, but not a lie.

"Save it" he hissed. "My life is no lie. It is exactly the way it should be."

"Mh? Even if the people around you knew about it the whole time?" the devil asked.

Behind them, Asta could see his friends looking at each other with confused looks. Whatever the devil was talking about, they didn't know. They were just as confused as he was.

"We don't know anything. What are you talking about?" Finral asked.

"Yeah. Asta grew up with us. The Captain and Miss Roselei are his parents" Vanessa nodded.

The blond smiled a bit. He knew that his friends would always have his back. Yes, he did grow up with them. More or less. Everyone of them was a person Dad had picked up on his trips. The times where he went on missions to catch criminals or whatever and came back with new members.

He knew that they all came from an abusive or broken family. All of them. He himself was the only one who had had a supportive family throughout his whole life. Even if Mom and Dad didn't get along so well anymore.

"Oh, but you know something don't you?" Zagred asked, looking straight at Yuno.

Asta looked up at his boyfriend only to find him staring back at the devil. He didn't. How could possibly know anything about what the devil was talking about?

No, there was no possible way his boyfriend knew anything about it. His friends didn't know either, so why would he? Unless….

"It wasn't anything bad if you think that. They noticed how close we were getting and asked me to keep an eye on you."

"I think you should sit this one out"

"Please just stay close to me, okay?"

"Yuno?" he almost whimpered, almost. Emerald eyes widening in shock.

He did. He did know about it, because….

"Oh hilarious! Keeping secrets from the people you love? And humans say that demons are evil!" Zagred laughed hysterically.

While biting his lip, Yuno dared to look over at the other teen. He regretted it. Those green eyes showed shock, confusion and worst of all, betrayal. He sighed.

"Listen, Asta. They asked me to keep you safe. I promised not to say anything and keep the secret" Yuno tried, keeping his voice calm though it wavered.

"Keep what a secret? What promise?" the blond asked. He was getting more anxious. What was going on? Who was that devil and what did he and Yuno know?

"That's not important-" the taller teen tried.

"Nu-uh boy" the devil waved a finger. "You better tell him the whole truth. There is no going back now."

Yuno growled. "This isn't a game! I made a promise and I intend to keep it!"

"What the actual hell is going on here?" Noelle yelled in confusion.

Asta looked over at them. No, they didn't know anything. They were telling the truth, he could tell. Especially Noelle. She was the last one to join their squad up until now. There was no way she would've been able to find out if the others didn't know as well.

"Indeed" the devil hummed. "There have been many things that your so called 'Parents' didn't tell you."

The teen could tell that the devil was both amused and angry. Amused, because he knew the truth about something that Asta himself was aching to find out by now. Angry because….

Why? What was the devil angry about?

"They are my parents" he says with confidence.

Zagred looked over at him. The anger the devil felt could not be put in words at this point. And Asta knew that whatever was going to happen at this point, it wouldn't be good.

"Oh how much they lied to you. You aren't related to any of them boy" Zagred laughed.

"What?!" the teen yelled in shock.

Before the devil could answer however, strong wind hit him. It knocked the devil off his feet, but only for a moment. With a grin Zagred stood back up, little effort being used.

Asta looked at Yuno. The wind mage still had his eyes narrowed, glaring daggers at the intruder of the forest. He obviously didn't want the other so say anything about this anymore than he already did.

He would regret this, Asta knew he would, but he took a deep breath and did it anyways.

"What would you know about it?"

"Good question" Zagred clasped his hands together. "I am one of the few people that know everything. After all, I was there on that day" he grinned.

"What day?"

"On the day she died of course"

The blond didn't like where this was going. His whole world seemed to be turned upside down by that demon. But there was no turning back now.

"She?" Finral asked confused.

"Who?" Vanessa yelled.

The malicious grin Asta received from the devil was nothing anyone wanted. It promised something sinister. Something he had a feeling he should've know about a long time ago. Yet, he didn't.

"Your mother of course."

The teens eyes widened. That was not possible. Mom was alive. She was okay and probably arguing with Dad right now. Just like they always did. And when he got home, she would scold him for getting hurt again. Even if he just got healed.

"That's impossible" he whispered in disbelief.

"It is very possible. I was there. She died because of the people you oh so proudly call your parents" Zagred smirked.

"That is not true!" Yuno yelled beside him only to quickly shut his mouth again. He made a mistake by saying that. It proved he knew something. But that didn't matter right now.

Between a devil and Yuno, Asta would always choose to believe his boyfriend. He knew something about it, so what? They could talk about it later. The teen knew that all of them must've had a good reason to keep it a secret from him.

"Why do you even know about this? About me?"

"Easy. People always have two parents, don't they?" the devil was having a great time, seeing the shock and betrayal in his sons eyes.

"What?" the teen breathed as realization set in.

His whole world shattered. That was even worse than what he had been expecting. Worse than anything else he could ever think of. That was just impossible. There was just no way that he was related to a demon.

Beings like you and me…..

Oh god

"Maybe you should have a talk with yourself to come to senses" Zagred said.

Before Asta could ask what he meant, his world faded and all he saw was black, the others calling out to him.

Don't have much to say this week. I would like to say more, but no one really likes spoilers. Next week is going to show Asta's devil-side. Not really different from the anime, but I still hope I'll be able to surprise you. See ya next week ;)

Bye
