I am so sorry. I forgot to update yesterday. Played some Wii with friends and forgot to update the new chapter. Well, now you're getting it. I have two more chapters done after this one and I hope that I get the time to write some more. If not I will let you knof if there will be a short pause of the fanfic.

Anyway, enjoy

As he looked up into the sky, Asta noticed the two figures fighting. Without a doubt those two were Yuno and Zagred aka Dad.

Yeah, Asta thought, there was no way he was going to call him that. It didn't matter if it was true, and according to Liebe it was, there were already people in his life that filled the role of mother and father.

By now he knew that it was the truth, but they raised him. And they loved him. There was a lot they had to talk about when he got home, but he wasn't actually mad at them. Mostly confused. And what else was he supposed to feel.

Even if they had lied to them, if Liebe had been telling the truth, and Asta knew he had, then they had a very good reason to keep this a secret. A few hours of talking would fix this, he knew it.

"Hey"

The teen turned around to see the others. Noelle had her usual 'I am a royal' look on her face. By now she only did that when she was annoyed or expected something from others. Not respect, but action. She wanted him to do something.

"Can you do anything with those?" she nodded at his wing.

Asta flexed his shoulder, seeing if he could even move it at all. It felt weird, but right at the same time. Well, it was a part of him, wasn't it? Of course it would feel natural in some way. Even more than he would like to admit. But it wasn't a bad thing at all.

He could use that against his enemies. Flying would give him a great advantage.

Surely enough the wing moved when he willed it too, flapping a bit and creating a slight gust of wind.

"Seems like it" Vanessa smiled.

"Yeah" the teen nodded. "But I think I have to practice this some time. I don't know how to fly."

Without much effort, the wing moved however he wanted it to. Left and right, curling against his back and unfolding again. Seemed easy enough, he decided.

Eventually he had to decide if this was something he could accept in his life. If he could accept this other side of himself. Liebe seemed like the opposite of himself, but like him at the same time. They shared some similarities and maybe one day, he would want to come out after all.

Asta himself couldn't imagine a life where he could only watch the events take place, never able to do anything about them, not even wanting to. Watching the life of another. It sounded weird. But weirdness seemed to be a part of his life.

"Practice later. Now we have to get rid of him" Noelle said, clearly talking about the devil in the sky.

"Yeah, but I don't really know what to do" the teen admitted.

Finral hummed. "We can't keep him occupied for the next three days. There has to be something we can do."

The blond bit his lip. He'd rather stay away from the devil. No, he wasn't scared, but he didn't know everything that guy could do either. He didn't even really know his magic.

Why couldn't this guy have stayed where he belonged? He didn't belong in this world. There was a reason why devils were trapped in the underworld. Beside Liebe, Asta had never even heard of a devil that had good intentions.

But Dad had told him the stories about devils. Probably so that he wouldn't want to even think about them, and so that he wouldn't make the connection. Dad had never said anything about what they looked like, but now he knew.

And had he known back then, then things would be different now. Even if he wouldn't have gotten his Grimoire.

If the wizard king was here, Asta would ask him to use his magic to get rid of the devil. To let his time move faster, so that he had to leave again. But Julius wasn't here and there was nothing they could to that could force him to leave.

Like Zagred had said, only time itself could force him to leave. Nothing they did could change that. Because none of them had the power to do so.

Or did they?

Asta bit his lip as he looked down at his sword. Making magic useless, that was what made him different. And according to Mom, more special than anyone else in the kingdom.

"I'll handle this" he said.

"What?" Noelle yelled in shock. She couldn't imagine a way where he could get rid of the devil.

"Asta, what are you thinking?" Vanessa asked with worry.

"Everyone" he breathes. "That touches this sword is unable to use their magic" he explained.

"Okay" Finral crossed his arms. "But how do you plan on getting close enough to that guy?"

Asta scratched the back of his neck with his free hand. If he was being honest….

"I have no idea" he laughed nervously.

"Well" Noelle put a hand under her chin, examining the teen once more. "He does look a bit more like him now. Maybe he'll fall for it?" she suggested.

"And if that doesn't work, then you will force him to make contact with the blade" Vanessa smiled.

The teen smiled and nodded. That could work. He only had to convince Zagred for a few seconds and get close enough to press the blade against him. Not even a minute and he would lose the magic he had gathered and would be forced back into the underworld.

Yes, that sounded like a plan. But Yuno would probably be confused and in shock for a moment. It was easier when he didn't know about it. That way he couldn't give anything away. Not like he would. Yuno was a good actor, Asta knew that. But it would make it look even more real.

He took a deep breath. "Okay. You guys go hide. With a bit of luck he'll think that you retreated."

All three of them nodded with a grim expression before taking off. And Asta knew why. They didn't want to leave in case something would go wrong. Only then would they be able to help properly. But that would only put them in more danger.

If Zagred saw them ready to attack while he got close to the demon, he would surely attack them. No matter if he fell for the trick or not. This was the only way the teen could protect them. He was aware that they could to that themselves, of course, but he felt better this way.

Everyone out of danger.

Asta rolled his right shoulder, willing the wing to move. It did. It was just like moving the rest of his body. The movement came naturally. He had yet to decide if he liked that.

The grip on his blade tightened when he bends down just a bit, before pushing himself of the ground. The feeling of being in the air for the first time was almost to much. It was overwhelming how right it felt. How much it felt like he was breathing for the first time.

It felt as if everything he had done in his life before had been incomplete. The teen couldn't suppress the grin. It felt just too good. Didn't change that he hated Zagred and the current situation though.

As he approached the two fighting figures, his mind began to wander into a different direction. The worry of what could and would happen if this didn't work. But he just shook his head.

He had to focus. Especially with what he was about to do. If Asta wanted to convince Zagred of anything, he had to play his cards right. And there was only one way he could do that. At least right now. Later, when the worry and panic would fade, he'd be able to think of different ways. Asta knew it.

But right now, there was only one way. And that was to crash into Yuno at the full speed he had right now, knocking him back a few feet.

The teen felt sorry for this, really he did. But what else was he supposed to do? He resisted the urge to give his boyfriend an apologetic look. Instead, he forced a plain look onto his face.

A look that didn't give away anything he was feeling in that moment. At least he hoped so.

"Asta?" Yuno said with shock in his voice.

The teen clenched his hands, forcing himself to stay in his role. Not now. Not now. The defeated look he got from his boyfriend made him want to throw everything away and hug him. To let himself be tucked away into safety.

But not now. Now, he just narrowed his eyes at the other. How wrong it felt.

"Well, looks like someone came to his senses" the devil chuckled.

Asta looked over. Yes, yes he has. But not the way Zagred had planned. But he would play along. "Of course. Did you actually think I would stick with the humans?" he scoffed.

He inched closer. Blade almost close enough to touch the devil without drawing to much attention to it. If he moved to quickly, then Zagred would notice. He'd notice something was wrong.

Asta wasn't the best actor, he knew that. But the sword didn't need to touch Zagred long. Just for a minute or two. That would be enough to weaken his magic so that he would have to leave.

He had never liked to lie to anyone. But he'll make an exception.

"Well, I had thought that it would take longer for you to wake up" Zagred admitted.

Asta hummed, glancing over at Yuno. His boyfriend hadn't moved much. After recovering from the blow, he had moved closer to them, but nothing more. He knew very well, that, no matter what happened, Yuno would never attack him willingly.

Which meant he could put his plan into action without anything getting in the way. The utter shock and betrayal in those golden eyes though made him feel bad.

The teen wished he could tell him, but that would have to wait.

"I did what you said" Asta countered, a small grin making its way onto his face.

"Oh? What would that be?"

"I talked with myself. And we came to an agreement" the blond explained.

"Asta…" this time his voice came out whispered.

His nails dug into the palms of his hand as he tried to control himself. Everything in him screamed to drop the act and explain it to his boyfriend. But he buried that thought. Just one more moment.

But he saw the smirk that Zagred gave Yuno. It practically screamed 'I won'.

"An agreement, huh? I do hope it has something good to do with me" Zagred smirked.

Depends on how you see it, the teen thought to himself. "Of course."

This time it was the devil who came closer. Asta thought that he had bought it. That he fell for the trick. A few more inches and it would be over.

"Oh my boy" the devil started, moving even closer.

And Asta was almost amused by how naïve the demon actually was.

Shruck

Until a blade buried itself into his stomach. His eyes widened in surprise and shock. Blood was quickly seeping from the wound, even with the blade still stuck in it. He could feel it.

"ASTA!" he heard Yuno scream. But he couldn't look at him. His gaze was fixed on the devil before him.

"You still have so much to learn" Zagred finished, jerking the pitch-black blade out of the teens body. It was a small dagger, but affective.

Asta quickly pressed his own hands against the wound. The sword fell towards the ground, only to disappear into his Grimoire.

The teen noticed how his own breathing began to quicken. Heart beating faster from the shock and adrenaline. It didn't even hurt that much. At least for a second, before he noticed what had actually happened.

The teen didn't dare to look down. He didn't want to see anything. And it was fine, right? Healers were close enough. He'd been stabbed before. It would be fine.

His vision began to blur.

"Didn't believe you for a second" the devil scoffed.

Asta tried to grab for something, anything that would prevent him from falling to the ground any second now. He wouldn't be able to hold himself into the air for much longer.

"And here I thought I wouldn't have to kill you" Zagred sighed dramatically.

It was fading. The power Liebe had given him was fading. Was it temporary? Was it because of the wound? It he did survive this, he'd have to talk with Liebe about it.

"I'll see you in hell, boy."

He fell
