Things were not going to way he wanted them to. His time was almost up, and he had yet to complete the collection of the magic stones. The stones that would give the world what it deserved.

And yet, people were constantly getting in the way. The kid of that devil could've been helpful, but it was clear to him that there was no way of convincing him to help. He had seen the passion that was burning in those emerald eyes.

Another thing that bothered him. The child of a devil that insisted on helping those around him. Well, he had been raised by humans after all. And his mother had been human too. A mistake. Choosing a human over another devil.

Licht sighed as he looked over the different magic stones once again. There was just one missing. He knew where it was but had no way to get it. That wind mage was guarding it with his life. He had been watching both teens from a safe distance for quite a while now.

There had been a few times where that boy had some suspicion about being followed. He may not be able to feel mana, but ki was apparently even more useful when trying to sense the presence of other people. And Licht had been so careful too.

They were close, very close. And maybe that was just what he needed. The devil-boy had to be there when it happened. Why, Zagred would be delighted to see the boy as soon as he was free.

Licht didn't know if they had ever met. Or if the teen even knew about his heritage. Of course, he could've told him back in the cave when they first met. But the chance just wasn't really there.

At some point they would meet anyway. It didn't matter if they already did or not. Important was, that the boy needed to be there the whole time.

The light mage smiled to himself. Those people didn't even know what was coming for them. Nothing they did would be able to prepare themselves. He himself knew very well that they were somewhat aware of his plans.

And even if it was hard to beat them when they were all working together, a devil was a force they had never faced before. Licht doubted that they could beat one without a problem. No matter what magic they had.

There was someone on the inside after all. Someone who had told him everything. Someone that wanted to see the kingdom go down just as much as he did himself. But it had been a long time since he heard something.

Because of course, that fool Gueldre got himself caught. He should've been more careful. Licht had abandoned the thought of contacting him again already. There was no use in trying.

And there was something else. Someone he knew was able to use a very useful magic. Copy magic, he called it. And at some point, he copied a spell that allowed him to manipulate an object, so that it would show him things that had happened in that room.

Of course, Licht had already guessed it beforehand, it only worked with mirrors. It was sort of mirror-magic, that's what he thought. But Rhya said it was something else. Licht decided to leave it at that.

So, as long as there was a mirror in the room, Rhya would be able to see everything that had happened in that very room. He only flaw, of course it had one, was that you could only the things that happened in the right angle.

And the last thing he had seen was that the devil-boy was talking with that wind mage. A full-sized mirror was in the corner of the room. He didn't see everything, but he heard it all. Oh yes, he knew everything about those two.

Licht smirked. He could use that to his advantage. They were in love. The wind mage had the last stone.

And who wouldn't do everything they could to save the one they loved?

Asta came out of the shower early. He had begun his training even before one could see the sun at he horizon. Some would call it a bad habit to get up so early. He himself liked to think of it as a sign of strong will.

Before turning to go into the shower, Asta went to the kitchen and made them some breakfast. Knowing Yuno, he'll still be asleep. And even when he enounced his return, along with some food, the wind mage wouldn't stir. Nothing new.

And indeed. When he came back, he could see Yuno still sleeping in bed. They weren't the same. Not the slightest. Yuno was more of a night-owl. He'd read long until he just fell asleep with the book still in hand. At some point of the night, Asta would take the book and put it on the nightstand, helping his boyfriend into a more comfortable position.

He didn't mind. Where was the fun if they were the same? But it was almost ten already. And it they wanted to go over and speak with his parents; they should do it soon.

So, the blond went over to the bed, gently shaking the others shoulder. As always though, he only received a deep grumble before most of Yunos face vanished into the pillow.

Asta snickered. The same as every day. "Yuno c'mon. You gotta get up."

"Don't wanna" was the mumbled response.

"Do I have to steal the blanket again?" the teen raised an eyebrow. He knew very well how much Yuno hated it when he did that.

A long pause followed before he finally heard a sigh. Yuno turned onto his back before sitting up straight. And again, Asta was jealous. How is it possible that Yuno could wake up looking flawless. He himself had no such luck.

"Something wrong?" Yuno asked.

The blond furiously shook his head. "Nope, I'm fine2 he said, face turning slightly red.

There was no use lying to himself though. They both knew very well how attractive Asta found his boyfriend. Why shouldn't he? For only fifteen years old, he was gorgeous. And Asta had no problem admitting that to himself. but saying it out loud? Not a chance.

Yunos ego was big enough as it was. He didn't need to fuel that no ending confidence. In public though, when some girl would try to flirt with him, Asta was quick to show them to back the hell off.

He also knew that the wind mage didn't mind that at all. He had said it himself that he wasn't the best one when it came to social interactions. So, Asta took it as a hint to do that for him.

"I already got us breakfast. We need to get back home. Make a plan with Mom and Dad" the blond said, putting a tray with food in front of his boyfriend.

"Why are you in such a rush? Not like that guy is going to throw that door open any second now" Yuno looked at the other with some suspicion.

Asta bit his lip, hands clenched behind his back. He took a glance towards the door. Great, now he was getting paranoid.

"No, I just….. I think it's better if we get this over with. I love living with you here, but I gotta get back to my squad. And we can't wait for them to make a move when we are unprepared" he said.

Yuno hummed in agreement while sipping his tea. Peppermint. Not what he would've chosen, but it was fine. There were worse options.

"Okay then. We'll go and talk with your squad. But we also have to talk with everyone else. We can't keep this under the table forever. As far as I know, the other squad captains know about you."

"I guess?" Asta shrugged.

"They do. And it's better to involve them too. We can't win this alone."

The blond nodded. Yes, it was better this way.

"Yeah, I am totally not coming."

Asta turned to see Liebe crouching on the dresser. His claws deep in the wood as he looked around the room with interest.

"You kinda go with me wherever I go, don't you?" Asta raised an eyebrow.

Liebe huffed. "Well…..yeah….."

"Then I don't see where the problem it. I'm not going to force you to talk with them" the teen said.

The devil huffed before jumping down. "Pretty sure I'll have to" he crossed his arms.

"Would that be so bad?" Yuno asked, looking straight at the devil.

It was still a bit weird to him. He's known quite some time now but seeing the other always surprised him. It was just a weird thought to him that Asta could be like those devils. Then again, Liebe wasn't anything like them either.

"Even if they know about us, humans see what they want to see. And they see a devil. A being whose only interest is to deceive and destroy" Liebe hissed.

Asta rolled his eyes. "You know very well that Mom and Dad are nothing like that."

Liebe dropped to the ground with a huff. Sitting cross-legged on the ground, he thought about it. "They're an exception" he muttered.

"You're not even giving them a chance" the blond said.

"Like they would give me one."

Asta sighed deeply. He didn't know what made Liebe think like this, but he'd chance his mind. He had to, otherwise this wouldn't work.

They had to work together in this one. If Zagred really came back permanently, they would have more than one problem. One that goes beyond everything they could think of.

"Okay, I'll talk with them first and then you come out. We will need your help. I don't know why, but you know more about all of this than any of us do. You don't want him to come back, right?"

Liebe looked back over to his human counterpart. No, of course he didn't want that. Even if he was one himself, devils were the worst. Most of them.

To be fair, he's never met another devil but Zagred. And that guy was an asshole. He had no desire to let someone like him roam the world freely.

"Okay" Liebe dropped his arms to the side, leaning back against the dresser.

"Good" Asta grinned. "Yuno get dressed. We gotta get home soon. A large meeting is in order. We'll find those guys and beat their asses."

Yuno sighed but stood up. There was no refusing his boyfriend when he looked at him like that. So he wouldn't even try.

But he doubted that it would be this easy.

Finally a new chapter. I know a lot of you have been waiting for this. I wanted to update earlier, but the internet broke down and I couldn't. Yeah, tech doesn't always work the way you want it to.
