Taka was sitting on his recliner, binge watching an action show. He had just watched seven 40 minute episodes in a row, and he wasn't ready to stop. It had now been a whole week since Taka and Yasuha's encounter with Machine Girl and Hanatarash, and two weeks since Yasuha killed Dolmeth and Big Moe. When the clock struck 11:09, Taka's phone vibrated, signalling that he had just received a text. He picked up his phone, and saw that Hot Soup had texted him.
"Oh shit!" said Taka out loud. He quickly picked it up and saw the text which said, "I'VE FOUND STARMAN'S ADDRESS! SRY THAT IT TOOK ME SO LONG I HAVE A LOT OF STUFF HERE!" Starman told Taka what street Starman resided in, and then texted, "Oh and ive alrdy told yasuha he knows 2" Taka said to himself, "Finally, we can go kill the bastard! Another time however... this show is startin' to get good."
Yasuha was sleeping in his small and messy apartment, drooling on his pillow. He was woken up by the sound of his notification alarm, and he checked his phone to see who texted him. He saw that Hot Soup had now given him the address of Starman and exclaimed, "Finally! Damn!" He closed his phone and said, "I'll save it for tomorrow though... I'm so sleepy."
Hot Soup was in his relatively nice house, with papers and documents scattered everywhere. "Now that bastard can pay for what he did to Billie!" He stood up and did a few stretches and said, "I'm a bit sleepy... but I kinda wanna make myself a midnight snack." Hot Soup reached into his fridge and pulled out a tortilla, as well as some cheese. He began to make a plain quesadilla, which somehow usually helped him go to sleep.
Suddenly, Hot Soup began to hear strange creaking around the house. They were quiet and brief, not making too much sound. They continued for about 1 minute, and although it was minor, Hot Soup couldn't help but feel like prey who's about to be devoured by a predator. "Is anyone there?" he said. No response came.
He decided to think nothing of it, and he continued to make his quesadilla. Eventually, he was done, and he sat down on his cushiony chair and began to eat his quesadilla. "Can your own food give you abilities as well?" said a voice. Hot Soup's heart skipped a beat and he yelled, "What!? W-Who's there!? R-Reveal yourself!" He began to tremble in his chair, terrified.
From the shadows arose Starman, who walked towards Hot Soup with his hands behind his back. "Can you gain abilities from the food you make, or can it only bless others besides you? What am I saying- of course you can't gain abilities from your meals. You'd be among the most powerful beings on the globe if you could." Hot Soup exclaimed, "P-Please don't k-kill me!"
Starman soothingly said, "Don't worry. I would never. You're an incredibly important cog in the machine that is the new world." Hot Soup asked, "W-What do you mean?" Starman said, "You'll see when the time comes. I do know that you're important. Why else would we meet? Why else has this incredibly specific set of events occurred? It was all meant to be. From this very conversation all the way back to the birth of the last universal common ancestor. It's all building up to the creation of the new world."
Hot Soup was terrified. Although he didn't know what Starman's ability was, he felt an immense sense of dread whenever Starman's presence was near. Starman said, "The fact that your food can grant abilities to everyone but you means you were fated to assist people. Well not people- but rather, one specific person. And that person is me. We were destined to meet, and you were destined to assist me in my plan."
Hot Soup was terrified, he felt so incredibly weak next to Starman. "Um, w-what do you want me to do?" Starman said, "Come with me to my home. You'll make me a meal that's powerful enough to grant me the ability to bring forth the new world." Hot Soup stuttered, "I-I d-dunno how to do that-" Starman responded, "Fate will guide you."
