A/N: LordChalupa here. I am adopting this story from Author: chasticles69 with his permission. He told me I could do whatever I'd like with it since he no longer has time to make updates. Therefore, I will be keeping this story mostly the same up until he stopped writing besides a few adaptations that I desire to add myself. After I pass that point everything will be all me, so hopefully I can keep my writing up to his standards or even better. I have never read the Trials of Apollo so nothing canon from that book will be included in this. Now onto the book. I hope you all enjoy!
Story is Rated M for language and mature humor.
The Annabeth from 2005 will be written like, "Annabeth" or "Annie", While the Annabeth from 2010 will be written like, "Annabeth".
The Clarisse from 2005 will be written like, "Clarisse", While the Clarisse from 2010 will be written like, "Clarisse".
Disclaimer: All characters belong to Rick Riordan. The cover image is not mine. (If there are any artists reading this that would like to create a cover for my story then you can DM me and show me your work)
Edit:
Thoughts are now italicized: "I'll have to find a time to talk to my older self and tell her to keep her distance from other guys, in case Luke gets the wrong idea," Annabeth thought to herself.
Grover is now also a part of the 2010 group. 2005: "Grover" 2010: "Grover"
For those confused about which characters are from which timeline then here is the timeline I used:
· 2005 group and gods are from the winter solstice when Zeus' bolt was stolen. December of 2005.
· 2010 group (both Greeks and Romans) are from after 'The Lost Hero' and from a month before Percy wakes up at the Wolf House. March of 2010.
· Enforcers are from a year after the end of 'Trials of Apollo'. May of 2012. (I never read the Trials of Apollo but I got the dates based off the link below.)
Here is the link I used for the dates of all the characters in case people are curious: (seems like I cant put in a link, so if you go to riordan .fandom .com and then click on important dates, that is where you will find the timeline I use.)
It was a normal day for the Olympians. Well, as normal as it gets when you put twelve godly beings, that have nothing in common, into the same room. Zeus, Lord of the Skies and King of Olympus, was currently being lectured by his wife, Hera, on the importance of keeping his 'godly rod' in his pants. Artemis, the eternal man hater, was arguing with Apollo, the eternal playboy and her brother, on who was the older sibling. Athena was insulting Poseidon about anything she could possibly think of, while Poseidon tuned her out by day dreaming about the new Hawaiian shirts he just added to his collection. Aphrodite and Ares were smooching on their thrones while Hephaestus thought of new ways to embarrass them in front of everybody. Hades was sulking in the corner of the throne room while Demeter berated him for being a 'home wrecker' and not eating enough cereal. Hermes was on his phone looking through all the deliveries he'd have to make as soon as the meeting was over with and Dionysus was conked out on his throne. So yeah. Your typical Olympian get together.
After placating his angry wife, Zeus decided it was time to convene the meeting. "Silence! Let the Winter Solstice begin!"
All the god's looked at Zeus for a couple of seconds before going back to whatever they were doing, completely ignoring him.
Zeus' right eye twitched and his face scrunched up in anger.
"I SAID SILENCE! I AM YOUR KING AND YOU SHALL LISTEN TO ME!" He bellowed and made it thunder for extra effect.
When no one interrupted him, he gave them all a smug smile. "Good, now that you all are liste-"
"Oh come off with it brother," Poseidon interrupted him. "We all know that you're just going to brag about how much more Mother Rhea likes you."
Zeus glared at his brother. So what if he brags? In his opinion, being the King of Olympus gave him those rights.
"Well, it's true! Mother has always loved me the most!"
This time Poseidon was the one to glare at Zeus. "HA! Like she could ever love an arrogant prick like you more than me! I've always been the better son!"
In the corner of the room, Hades put his head into his hands while listening to his two brothers bicker like children. "These two have been arguing like this for far too long. They're both wrong though. Mother obviously loves me the most." He mumbled to himself.
The rest of the gods went back to doing their own thing because they knew once those two argue, there is nothing that can stop them.
A young girl sighed from the hearth in the middle of the throne room. She loved her family with all her heart, no matter how dysfunctional of a family it was. In her heart, she believed that family should always stick together no matter the issues. She could only hope that the rest of her family shared her views. As she was about to step in to break the two brothers apart, a bright light suddenly blinded everyone in the throne room.
Zeus shot up from his throne and grabbed his bolt to smite whoever interrupted his important discussion.
"Who dares interUMPH!?" He let out a strangled grunt when multiple people appeared out of nowhere and landed right on top of him.
The whole throne room went quiet before Poseidon and Hades doubled over in laughter.
"HAHAHA! Did you see his face!?" Poseidon choked out between his laughter.
Hades nodded his head with tears streaming down his face. "Yeah! And the 'UMPH'!" He paused to catch his breath before continuing. "That was priceless! If only I could've recorded that! It would've been great blackmail material!"
Zeus tried to say something from underneath the pile of human bodies, but what came out sounded more like a strangled goose, resulting in another round of laughter from the two brothers. The other gods tried to hold back from laughing in fear of facing Zeus' wrath. Key word: tried.
Apollo and Hermes were the first to give in. Both of them fell off of their thrones and started rolling on the floor not even trying to contain their laughter.
"Were here…" The doors of the throne room opened to reveal Chiron, Grover, and 15 nervous looking campers grouped up behind him.
Chiron paused, with an obvious look of confusion on his face, when he saw the laughing gods and a pile of human bodies on top of Zeus.
"Urm…We can come back later if now's not a good time," He said uncertainly and stopped the kids from looking in, afraid that Zeus would just smite them to get rid of all those that witnessed him in this embarrassing situation.
Before anyone could answer, the pile of humans and one goat started to groan and slowly climb off of the clearly enraged Zeus.
"What the Hades happened?" One of them asked.
Hades glared at the speaker and said, "Don't use my name as a curse, child."
The speaker stumbled back and bowed protrusively to the King of the Underworld. "My apologies Lord Hades. I did not see you there and will refrain from using your name as a curse from now on."
Hades looked satisfied with his apology and sat down with a dignified 'humph'.
Once everyone had gained their bearings, Zeus stood back up and glowered at the people in front of him.
He picked his bolt back up and pointed it at a blonde-haired girl with grey eyes.
"You. Come forwards." He commanded her.
She looked around her nervously, but stepped forwards when she received nods of encouragement from those around her.
"My Lord." She said and bowed to Zeus.
Zeus grumbled but softened up at her respectful attitude. He told her to stand up and asked her who she was and what she was doing on Olympus.
"My name is Annabeth Chase my lord." An exclamation of shock came from the group of children with Chiron, while Athena looked at her in confusion.
Zeus nodded and then the aura around him darkened and his eyes narrowed dangerously, "Okay Annabeth Chase. Now answer me: how did you show up here unannounced and teleport to the throne room? That shouldn't be possible, much less without a prior appointment."
Now it was Annabeth's turn to look confused. "You didn't summon us here Lord Zeus?"
"Of course not! Are you trying to make a fool of me girl!?"
Annabeth took a step back in fear when Zeus once again pointed his bolt at her.
"Father! Wait!"
Without turning to look at the speaker, he asked, "What is it, Athena?"
"Annabeth is my daughter. She's supposed to look younger, but there is no mistaking that she is one of mine."
"That doesn't explain why she would dare barge into Olympus!"
"But..."
"No buts! This slight will not go unpunished, even if she is your daughter!"
Before Zeus could vaporize the girl out of anger, Chiron stepped forwards and asked for permission to speak, which Zeus begrudgingly allowed.
"Lord Zeus, I believe there is something more at play here." Chiron said.
"And what do you mean by that?"
Instead of answering verbally, Chiron motioned for one of the campers to come forwards. Zeus looked between Annabeth and the camper that was pretty much a complete doppelganger of her in confusion.
"And who are you, girl?" He asked.
"Annabeth Chase." She squeaked out, confusing the lord of the skies even more.
"Aha!" Athena exclaimed. "There are two Annabeth's here which means one thing! The older Annabeth and the ones that appeared with her must've been brought from the future!"
As soon as she said this, there was another flash of light and ten hooded people appeared in the middle of the throne room.
Zeus let out a sigh and grumbled, "When did the home of the gods become a hotspot for vacation."
One of the hooded figures stepped up and said, "You would be right Lady Athena."
Athena smiled smugly around the room, which was unnecessary since no one disagreed with her.
Another hooded figure stepped forwards and handed Athena a parchment of paper.
Athena gave the person a confused look before looking at what was on the parchment.
"Don't read it to yourself, read it out loud." He told her like she was being stupid for not doing so already.
"Oh, Okay." She responded dumbly.
Dear Gods and demigods,
The future is bleak. Powers from beyond our influence have begun to make their move. As you are now, you stand no chance to survive their onslaught. Hence, we have decided that things are going to need to change if you want to continue your rule. We have brought these demigods, both Greek and Roman, from the year 2010 back to your time so you can learn about what's to come and what you could've done differently to prevent many future issues. You will be reading a series of ten books that will show you future events (past events for the demigods from the future). These books will show you what the world is like from a demigod's perspective. You will read each book, word for word, and none of the demigods will be able to give any spoilers. It'll be literally impossible for them to give anything away, so forget about it. Besides the demigods we brought back, the demigods Chiron brought with him will also stay for the reading. Poseidon, call for Amphitrite and Triton. Hades, you can bring Persephone to keep you company. Zeus, call for Hecate, Hypnos, and Nemesis. Other minor gods are fine too, but these three are the most important. Artemis, call for your lieutenant and Phoebe. These eight will also be reading, along with one other that will arrive tomorrow. The ten that gave you this letter will be enforcers during this reading. We have given them powers to stop any conflict and inflict punishment upon disruptors if they deem necessary. So, enjoy the books and good luck.
PS: Sending people back in time comes with a heavy price. On that happy note, Good Luck!
-The Fates
There was a moment of quiet before the whole throne room was filled with discussion.
"QUIET!" Zeus bellowed and waited for the room to go silent. "This must be a joke! I will not believe that us gods have done anything wrong!"
"It is true though my lord," one of the enforcers said. "The fates sent us back to make sure there are no fights during the reading. They want the gods to change their habits and they believe reading these books will be the best way to do so."
Before Zeus could argue, Apollo told him that the enforcer spoke the truth.
The girl from the fire then spoke in the enforcers favor as well. "I believe them as well, brother. Us gods have neglected the children for far too long. It's about time we get to know them personally and hear of their difficulties."
"But Hestiaaaaa." Zeus whined, drawing out his sister's name.
"Stop whining brother. You are the King of the Gods, so act that way."
Zeus sat back down grumpily and grumbled something about disrespectful siblings.
"Alright," Hestia said. "Now that we are all settled down, how about all the demigods introduce themselves. How about we start with Chiron's group since they're from our time?"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
The first to step forward was Annabeth. "Well, you already know, but let me reintroduce myself. My name is Annabeth Chase and a daughter of Athena."
A blonde-haired boy with glasses introduced himself next. "Malcolm Pace, son of Athena."
"Luke Castellan, son of Hermes." Hermes looked at his son sadly. He already knew that his son's fate was going to be anything but good. He hated being unable to do anything about it, but not even a god could go against the Fate's will.
"Connor and Travis Stoll, sons of Hermes." The brothers spoke their names individually.
"Chris Rodriguez, undetermined." Hermes looked at his son in surprise and then instantly claimed him. "I'm so sorry Chris. I do my best to claim my children as soon as they reach camp, but once in awhile I will miss one. I hope you can forgive me."
Chris blushed, obviously overwhelmed and overjoyed by the news. "Thank you, father! I forgive you!"
"Katie Gardner, daughter of Demeter." Demeter smiled at her daughter and reminded her to eat her cereal.
"Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares." Ares smiled at the rest of the gods smugly.
"Charles Beckendorf, son of Hephaestus."
"Silena Beauregard, daughter of Aphrodite."
"Michael Yew, son of Apollo."
"Lee Fletcher, also a son of Apollo."
"Castor Vineyard, son of Dionysus."
All the campers from the future looked down sadly when their dead friends introduced themselves. None of them were looking forwards to reading about their deaths.
"Pollux Vineyard, son of Dionysus." The only living demigod son of Dionysus introduced himself.
The last 'person' in the group stepped up to introduce himself nervously. "I'm not a demigod, but my name is Grover Underwood, a Satyr and protector."
Zeus glared at Grover, causing the poor goat's entire body to quiver in fear.
Chiron stepped forward before Zeus caused Grover to pass out and said, "That's everyone. My name is Chiron and their trainer."
Hestia smiled and thanked the centaur for the introductions. "Now I'd like the Romans from 2010 to please introduce themselves and tell us what year you are from."
Before anyone could introduce themselves, a pale and lanky kid screeched while pointing at the Greeks, "This is unacceptable! You expect us to be civilized with these…these…Barbarians!"
The Greek demigods all stood up in righteous indignation and started screaming at him. Calling him names like: Sleazebag, Racist Pig, and Imbecile; among other unsavory insults that are too profane for children to hear.
"Forget it." Zeus sighed. "I've apparently become too soft because now even demigods are arguing in my presence like I'm not even there. Take over from here Hestia. I'm tired."
Hestia shook her head in exasperation at her brother's antics but still used her powers to envelope the room in a feeling of calmness. The arguments started to disperse as if all the anger was drained right out of their bodies.
Hestia gave a satisfied smile before turning to glare at the enforcers. "You're supposed to stop fights like these from happening, aren't you?"
The enforcers looked at each other before scratching the back of their hoods sheepishly. "Sorry about that Lady Hestia. We were quiet amused by the fight and sorta forgot to stop them."
"Make sure it doesn't happen again," she said, giving them a sharp look.
"Ma'am, yes Ma'am!" They all saluted.
She gave them one last amused look before turning her attention back to the romans. "I don't care if you're Roman or if you're Greek, but now that were all here, I expect us to remain civil. I don't expect you to suddenly like each other, but I do expect everyone to behave maturely and listen with an open mind. Am I understood?"
Octavian somehow turned even paler under Hestia's stern glare. "Ye- Yes Ma'am!" He managed to squeak out.
"Good!" Hestia smiled brightly, the previous stern look nowhere to be seen. "Now on with the introductions."
A tan girl with the air of a leader was the first to introduce herself. "My name is Reyna Ramirez-Arellano, daughter of Bellona and Praetor of New Rome. This entire group is from March of 2010."
After she introduced herself, the gods started to flicker between their Greek and Roman counterparts with mildly annoyed expressions on their faces.
"This is going to get very annoying," Ares/Mars growled.
"This is one of the many reasons why we've kept the two camps apart," Dionysus/Bacchus agreed.
"Hmph, I told you the Romans were no good. Off with their heads I say," Athena, the now brooding Minerva, griped.
"Be quiet!" Zeus/Jupiter ordered, "I already have a bad enough migraine, I don't need your three's constant complaining to make it worse. Now get these damned introductions over with!"
Octavian stepped forward to proudly introduce himself. "Octavian Riddle, Legacy of Apollo, Centurion of the First Cohort, and Augur of Camp Jupiter."
"Dakota Soberlin, Son of Bacchus and Centurion of the Fifth Cohort." There were multiple snickers at his last name. A son of the wine god with 'Soberlin' as his last name, how ironic.
"Gwendolyn Braveheart but people just call me Gwen. I'm a legacy of Venus and Centurion of the Fifth Cohort."
"Leila Moss, daughter of Ceres and Centurion of the Fourth Cohort."
"Larry Bootlicker, son of Mercury, Centurion of the Second Cohort, and one of the ten senators."
"Hank LeTank, legacy of Mars, Centurion of the First Cohort, and one of the ten senators."
"Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto."
"Hades! I mean Pluto!" Zeus/Jupiter roared over all the noise that erupted when Hazel introduced herself as a daughter of Pluto. "You dare break the oath!"
Hades scoffed at him. "Like you're one to talk brother." Then he looked at Hazel in confusion. "Besides, I didn't even break the oath. She's from a different HONK!"
Everyone looked at Hades in bewilderment. "What do you mean she's from a different Honk?" Poseidon asked his brother.
Hades also looked bewildered. "I said, she's from a different MOO!"
"Brother, you're making no sense."
"Ah, about that…" One of the enforcers said. "You know how we said 'no spoilers allowed'?"
Everyone in the throne room nodded.
"Well, what he was trying to say is considered a spoiler, so it came out as a random sound."
"You couldn't tell us that sooner?" Hades asked, obviously more than a little miffed.
"Teehee!"
"Don't 'teehee' me you little brat!"
"Peace brother," Hestia said before Hades could start ranting. "Let us continue with the introductions or else we'll be here all day."
Hades went quiet with an obvious look of discontent but let them continue anyways.
When it was once again quiet in the room, a bulky Asian boy with a baby face introduced himself. "Ummm…Hi. I'm Frank Zhang and still undetermined." He stepped back quickly to get out of the spotlight.
Ares quickly changed into Mars and snapped his finger and claimed Frank, to Frank's obvious horror and despair.
The last person to come forward was actually standing with the Greeks. "Well, until recently most of my memories were taken away from me and I had just started to remember, but now that I'm here, I remember everything," he said while glaring at Hera.
"My name is Jason, son of Jupiter and Praetor of New Rome," Juno/Hera looked at her champion proudly while Hades and Poseidon glared at Zeus.
"Dearest brother of mine," Poseidon said to Zeus. "What was that about breaking the oath?"
Zeus blushed in embarrassment and turned his head away, pretending that he didn't hear the question.
Poseidon sighed and mumbled to himself, "Why am I the only one that doesn't take my anger out on my brother's children? When will they realize that doing that won't solve anything and only cause more issues?"
"Alright! Thank you for introducing yourselves." Hestia said. "Now I'd like the Greeks from that year to come forwards to introduce themselves."
The gods let out sighs of relief as their Roman and Greek forms slowly stopped fighting for control, and their usual Greek forms completely solidified.
"Uncle Hades' Underpants," Hermes groaned. "It had been decades since I'd had a migraine like that. I'm glad something like that shouldn't happen again for a while."
A couple of the enforcers overheard him and snorted.
"What?" Hermes asked, confused at why there were looking at him with pity in their eyes.
"It's nothing. Don't mind us."
Hermes gaped at them, completely bewildered about everything. He decided it wasn't important and continued to listen to the introductions.
Annabeth was the first to reintroduce herself. "My name is Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena. My group is also from March of 2010."
An olive-skinned boy with black hair rose next. "Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades."
"Twice!? You broke the oath twice!?" Zeus screamed in outrage.
"I already told you…" Hades began. "You know what, never mind. No matter how I explain it to you, you'd be too stupid to understand."
"Why you!"
"Enough Zeus!" Hestia yelled at him. "We'll learn about everything in these stories, so please sit back down."
Zeus sat back down angrily, still glaring at his brother and thinking of ways to smite Hades' two children. Only his were allowed be the children of the prophecy. No way would he allow his brother's children get all the glory.
A girl dressed in punk clothing and a silver tiara on her head took Nico's place. Both Zeus and Artemis looked at the girl in surprise. Zeus because she was a tree last time he checked, and Artemis because the tiara is the exact same one that her lieutenant, Zoe, was wearing right beside her.
"I'm Thalia, daughter of Zeus." She said while glaring at Hera, still furious that the Queen of the Gods stole her brother away from her and for almost killing her.
Both Hades and Poseidon turned to glare at Zeus.
"Heh, hypocrite," Hades drawled, which was like a complete sucker punch in the gut for Zeus.
Zeus' face burned and was so angry that his face turned red, almost purple, in anger.
He stood up in anger… but instantly sat back down when he noticed Hestia's disapproving glare.
"Ahem-ahem," all eyes turned to a skinny Hispanic boy when he stood up and coughed to gain their attention. "Heyyyy everybodyyy! The names Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus, but all the ladies can call me McShizzle."
The Cherokee girl next to him smacked him on top of the head and told him to sit back down. "I'm Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite."
"I'm Clarisse LaRue, same one as before, just older."
"Lou Ellen Blackstone. Everyone calls me Lou Ellen and I'm a daughter of Hecate." Before Zeus could stand up to ask anything she continued, "And before anyone can ask why a daughter of a minor goddess is here, then I have three words for you: read the books."
Then she sat back down motioning for the last three to introduce themselves.
"Will Solace, son of Apollo and head healer."
Will nudged the sleeping guy next to him. "Clovis Bedlam, son of Hypnos." He mumbled out sleepily.
All eyes then turned to a smiling red head girl. "Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Call me Rachel." She introduced herself.
The room waited for the rest of her introduction but she said nothing.
"Are you going to tell us who's kid you are or not?" Athena asked her.
"I'm a clear-sighted mortal," she responded cheerily. "That's all I can tell you for now at least."
Last but not least, Grover came forward, but unlike his younger counter part, he looked much more confident. "And I am Grover Underwood, satyr from camp half-blood."
"Great!" One of the enforcers said. "Now that everyone has introduced themselves, get to know one another over dinner or something. We start the reading at 10:00 AM sharp tomorrow. If you're late or try to skip then there will be consequences."
"With that out of the way, we bid you adieu until tomorrow." In a flash of light, the enforcers disappeared to who knows where.
"Well then…" Zeus said. "You heard them, go eat and do whatever else you mortals usually do."
After saying his piece, he also disappeared in a flash of light.
"What a drama queen." Poseidon whispered to Hades.
"Alright kids," Hestia said. "Dinner will be ready in thirty."
After saying 'thank you', all the kids dispersed to get to know each other and waited in anticipation for the next day.
Another A/N: So I changed some things here and there from the original and fixed any typos and errors that I could find. Sorry if its not perfect. In the next chapter I'll be making some more major changes so that the story can flow easier with what I have planned. That's why I'd call this more of an adaptation of the original than a full-on adoption. Anyways, you'll see what I mean later. I hope you enjoyed and if you did, please follow, favorite, and review. Makes writing all the more enjoyable seeing my readers feedback.
