Beauty and the Beast Fanfiction
Chapter 1
"KILL THE BEAST!" Gaston shouted, holding a glowing magic mirror. The cheers from the riled up townspeople did nothing but boost his ego, subconsciously confirming to himself that his cause was righteous.
"No!" Belle yelled, clutching at his arm desperately trying to get the mirror back. "I won't let you do this!"
"If you're not with us you're against us" Gaston said sternly, grabbing Belle's wrists tightly with his other hand "bring the old man and lock him up in the cellar, we can't have him running off to warn the creature"
"Gaston stop, please!" Belle begged with desperation in her voice.
Gaston lowered his gaze to look Belle in the eyes. "As for you Belle, you are coming with me, I want you to watch this" Gaston coldly sneered. " Tie her, and bring her to my horse" turning his gaze to his tavern cronies, he threw Belle in their direction.
"No please, let me go!" Belle screamed, before she felt large rough man hands grab her arms and shoulders and then roughly push her to her knees. Belle had barely made a sound before a handkerchief had been forcefully shoved into her mouth with a gag quickly following. She couldn't see who was behind her but she felt their dry calloused hands hold her wrists behind her back and tie a coarse rope tightly around them. Just when she thought they were done she felt another coarse rope, this time around her middle just under her chest. It was tight enough that not only was it digging into her skin through her sleeves it was also a bit harder to breathe. Without warning the men picked her up and threw her over one of their shoulders, holding her legs down with his strong arms. A minute later she was standing in front of Gaston astride his enormous black horse. With a monstrous gleam in his eyes he grabbed the ropes that held her bound, and lifted Belle up off the ground and threw her over his saddle.
Belle was stuck, speechless and unable to move. It had all happened so fast, one minute she was defending her father and proving he wasn't crazy and the next she was bound, gagged and stuck with Gaston. She looked back at her house, trying to catch at least a glimpse of her father even though he was locked in the cellar he was at least safe. Just as Belle was trying to gather her thoughts Gaston broke his horse into a trot, the pommel of the saddle digging into her repeatedly. Belle then felt Gaston's large hands on her lower back. To outsiders it would seem like he was trying to keep her from falling but what he was really doing was pushing the pommel deeper into her stomach. It hurt and every trot felt like a gut punch; this went on for the next two hours before Belle became numb to the pain. Despite the pain she could also hear the villagers chanting "KILL THE BEAST'' over and over. Her thoughts drifting to her dear friend, Belle thought about what Gaston might do to him, If he was willing to do this to her what might he try on the Beast?
Gaston stopped abruptly causing his horse to rear up and winnie. The force of the fall knocked the wind out of Belle causing her to wheeze a bit. Quickly Gaston slid off his horse, grabbing Belle by the waist and placing her roughly on the ground. "Cut down that tree we can use it as a battering ram to get in." Gaston barked, "Then we lay siege to the castle and bring that beast's head!" Gaston quickly glanced back at his prisoner and smiled at Belle's horrified expression.
While his back was turned, Belle tried to get away, but Gaston was too fast and strong for Belle and he caught her by the shoulders. Pulling her close fingers digging into her shoulders he talked into her ears. "All you had to do was say yes, one little word would have prevented all this from happening. Now I'm going to make you watch me kill your little pet" Belle listened horrified with her heart in her throat, she tried to get away from him but he just pulled her in closer. "This will be a lot easier for you if you stop fighting me, I'm doing you a favor, once I kill the monster whatever spell he put on you will be broken. Then I will claim the castle as my own and you WILL be my wife, if not I will make you and your father's lives a living hell."
Belle whined through her gag and tried to wriggle out of Gaston's grip. Annoyed Gaston threw her to the ground. Belle landed on her back, she was terrified how on earth did this neanderthal think she would ever love him. Her face betrayed her fear and Gaston smiled at her terror. He pulled another rope out of his saddle bag grinning triumphantly as he strode over to Belle's bound form and knelt beside her. Gaston's eyes scanned her and Belle immediately knew what he was thinking, she was correct in her earlier statement that Gaston was a monster. Belle kicked and thrashed trying to get away, but Gaston quickly moved so that he was basically sitting on her stomach. He leaned down close to Belle's face and caressed her face softly, his cold blue eyes staring intently into hers. Greedily, Gaston thought about what he would like to do to her but remembering what the clergymen from his youth said about having a virginal bride. Belle could smell his breath and feel it whisp over her face.
"Soon Belle you will be my wife and then nothing will stop me from doing anything I want to you" Gaston breathed, his breath smelling like stale beer and beef. A loud crash broke his focus and he got off Belle and lifted her up off the ground. He tightly grabbed Belle's bound arms and ordered the frenzied villagers to march on the castle.
Belle wanted to run away but fear had totally consumed her and she found herself paralyzed and walking with Gaston. She didn't come out of her stupor until Gaston and the villagers were pounding at the massive front gate with their makeshift battering ram, about an hour later. Without her noticing Gaston had tied a rope to the front of her binding and tethered her to one of the pillars used to decorate the entrance. Belle's thoughts were racing, her worries now turning to her best friend and she hoped more than anything that he was alright. Belle may have been tied up but she wouldn't let the likes of Gaston hurt her friend, no matter what happened she would defend the beast. The beast was more of a man that Gaston could ever hope to be, despite their first meeting Belle had come to realize that beneath his scary outward appearance he was the kindest most gentle person she had ever met. Belle starred as Gaston as he and his cronies banged at the door shouting "KILL THE BEAST" with every swing. It wasn't in fear it was with hatred, before the events of tonight Gaston was a nuisance and while she disliked him Belle never hated him, until the events of tonight. No matter what happens she wont let Gaston hurt those she loved, not her father and not her beast, Belle would never give into him even if that meant she had to out live him. Belle refused to let this horrible man destroy her life, she was determined above all else to survive.
There was a sudden gasp from the villagers as the massive door finally gave way and let them into the castle. Belle watched as they slowly made their way inside, it was tensely quiet until she heard the familiar voice of Lumiere shout "NOW!" followed by a symphony of chaos. Gaston reappeared at the door and ran to untie Belle from her tether. Gaston tried to get Belle to walk with him on the lead he tied to her but her courage had returned and she refused to move. Gaston gave Belle an irritated look before grabbing her by her waist and dragging her inside the castle. The inside was as chaotic as it sounded, with her friends bravely battling the intruders. Belle tried to call for help but the battle distracted anyone who could possibly help her, as Gaston slipped up the stairs and began his search for his prey.
Gaston began kicking down the doors looking for Belle's little pet, crossbow in one hand and Belle's lead in the other. One door after the other was empty, Gaston was both intrigued by his new home and annoyed that the beast was not there. Gaston pressed forward until finally he entered a room and saw a massive hulking abomination silhouetted against the moonlight. Belle watched Gaston's body tense and she knew he had found her beast. She couldn't see the beast but heard him sigh sadly as he ignored the dangerous hunter. Gaston was ready to fire, but remembering her promise to herself and not letting Gaston hurt the ones she loved, without thinking Belle launched herself into Gaston. It didn't knock him over but it did throw off his balance enough that he missed the beast's lung and lodged a bolt in his shoulder.
The beast bellowed in pain, looking at Gaston and then the bolt protruding from his arm. The beast did a double take before spotting the bound and gagged Belle. Gaston knew that his element of surprise had been blown away thanks to his unwilling fiance. "BELLE!" the beast growled as he yanked the bolt out of his arm. Belle screamed through her gag as Gaston reloaded the crossbow and fired again, the bolt missing the beast and breaking the window behind him.
"Belle!" The Beast growled desperately "let her go!"
"Not a chance, this is my future wife" Gaston seethed wrapping his arm tightly around Belle. Belle screamed and tried to get away from her captor, the disgust in her face apparent. Gaston reloaded the crossbow and aimed it at the Beast. "Now I'm going to show her what happens when you disobey your husband"
The beast lunged towards them gowling and bearing his white fangs. Gaston fired again and the bolt landed in the Beast's abdomen. But the Beast hardly felt it, he was focused on Belle and saving her from this man. The beast slammed into Gaston, sending him backwards, releasing Belle in the process. The beast hurriedly grabbed Belle and barricaded the door to the west wing with broken furniture. he then carried Belle away from the door, while hearing Gaston try to break down the door behind them. When they were a safe distance away, the Beast delicately undid Belle's gag.
"Belle are you okay?" the Beast asked, pulling the bolt out of his abdomen, as Belle spit out the handkerchief.
"I'm okay, I'm just happy to see you" Belle said as the beast used his claws to cut the rope around Belle's chest. "BEAST LOOK OUT!" but it was too late, before the Beast could untie Belle's hands Gaston came out of the darkness and managed to bodyslam the Beast through the broken window, sending glass everywhere.
Gaston laughed and followed the beast outside. "GASTON STOP PLEASE!" Belle screamed running to the window. Outside she could only see the two figures brawling, Belle would not be responsible for anyone getting hurt. Thinking on her feet she found a shard of glass still attached to the pane, turned around and began cutting at the ropes that still bound her wrists. Belle could hear the Beast and Gaston fighting on the roof below and despite a few cuts on her fingers she finally managed to cut herself free of her bindings. Belle gently rubbed her wrists and sprinted towards the balcony, and saw Gaston dangling over the side of the castle and the beast holding him there by his neck. Belle heard Gaston begging for his life and the beast almost letting go. Through the darkness she saw the beast slowly bring Gaston back over the edge and growl.
"BEAST!" Belle shouted.
"Belle'' the Beast said softly, looking Belle gently in the eyes. Carefully the beast began to climb up the roof and meet Belle on the balcony, climbing over the railing the Beast held Belle close in a warm embrace, and Belle returned it enthusiastically. "Belle are you okay, did he hurt you?" the Beast asked softly.
"No" Belle sobbed into the Beast's chest. "Just hold me," she cried. the beast said nothing, only holding Bell gently, letting her sob into his fur. Belle couldn't explain it but being in the beast's arms felt safe, like she had come home after a long journey. "I love you,'' Belle whispered.
"I love you too Belle" the beast said gently.
Both of them could feel the warmth of this tender moment, then the room began to get brighter and warmer until the room was glowing. Slowly but tenderly the beast let go of Belle and started to float in the warm air. Belle tried to cling to the beast as she felt his warm presence leave her side, opening her eyes and wiping away her tears she saw her beloved floating in the warm light in the air. Light enveloped the Beast, physically changing him into a handsome young man with strawberry blond hair. As the light dissipated a young man stood before her, upon first glance Belle was attracted to this handsome stranger.
"Belle, It's me" The stranger said, clutching Belle's hands.
Belle didn't know what to think as she gingerly stroked a tendril of hair that fell to his shoulder. Belle Looked into this man's warm blue eyes and felt that feeling of being home again the familiarity began to course through her spine. "It is you!" Belle exclaimed, her heart filling up with love.
Looking lovingly into each others eyes they fell into a warm deep kiss, fireworks exploded overhead as their joy was apparent. The same could not be said for the monster stuck on the roof. Gaston was seething with rage, his future wife had chosen that beast over him; it was more than he could bear. Gaston's hunter's instinct was to stab the beast in the back but there was something in his head, practically yelling at him. That in order to keep the promise he made to himself to have Belle for his wife, he needed to live to fight another day. Very carefully Gaston climbed down the roof until he found an open window and broke through. His attack had failed and all he had to show for it was a beaten and bruised ego and battered townspeople. No matter what happened next he WOULD have Belle for his wife one way or another.AUTHORS NOTE:
this is my first attempt at fan fiction, it might come across as choppy but in my defense its been a while since I've taken up writing. I am open to constructive critisim, and if people like it enough I might write sequels as this idea has been knocking around in my head for years.
