Believe
It's night, walking out of her room she shivered. The cool nighttime breeze waking her up further. Grasping her arms she shivers, she thought about going back in her room for a sweater, but knew she wouldn't be out here for long. She walked across the deck to the kitchen, she as quietly as possible filled up a glass of orange juice. Putting a straw in she sits at the table slowly sipping her drink she savors the fruity yet sour taste. Loving the cool liquid on her tongue before she gulps it.
She sighs contently, staring down at her orange drink she swirls it gently. Looking up she notices the dark room, feeling anxious she quickly turns the light on before sitting back down. As she sits in the quiet kitchen she wonders if Luffy would be stealing food right now. A small smile grows on her face, that dork probably heard her coming so he probably hid. She chuckles softly, taking another sip of her drink she quietly stands from the table before she starts opening cabinets and closets in the kitchen.
After searching for a full 5 minutes she couldn't find him. She sits back down, he really isn't there. She turns to her glass a bit solemnly, sipping slowly. She really thought he'd be here. But if he was, would she get mad? He would be stealing food if he did hide in here. But she felt giddy just trying to look for him. She lets out a long sigh, she kinda wished he was up with her. She'd like to hear his thoughts, what he's thinking or how he's feeling. They don't really get alone time together, not that she minds. She hums slurping from her straw.
A knock on the wood behind her, she turns to see Sanji, sleepily standing in the doorway. "Nami-san? Are you okay? Don't tell me that dolt was fishing for food again?" He asks. She shakes her head "Everything's fine, and no, Luffy wasn't in here." She says. He hums "Did you see him on the deck?" He asks. She turns to him confused "No?" He growls for a moment "It's his night on watch..." she sighs, rubbing her head "That idiot... go back to bed Sanji." She says sternly standing up from the table. "Nami-san I can take care of him." He offers. She shakes her head "It's fine, I'll take care of it, just go back to bed. Sorry if I woke you." She apologizes. He shakes his head with a soft smile before walking back to bed.
Nami quivers walking out on deck, she quickly looks around the deck, finding no sign of her Captain. She growls, knowing him he fell asleep somewhere. Walking up to the front of the Sunny she climbs onto the lions head, looking over the orange mane she doesn't see him. As she stares down at the empty seat she becomes anxious, if he isn't here where is he?
A heavy wave hits the side of the boat forcing her grip off the lions head. She stares downward, the ocean, but before she meets the cold water she held up. Looking down at her waist she sees what appears to be something wrapped around her. She breaths heavily dangling off the side of the boat. "Nami!" She hears, looking up she sees Luffy gripping the railing as he retracts his arm pulling her up. She sighs in relief, being pulled back onto the deck she hugs him tightly, panting into his chest.
She feels him rub her back "You okay?" He asks. She nods against his chest, she doesn't feel cold anymore, in its place is a warmth, a warmth she doesn't wanna let go of. "Thanks." She whispers, hearing a slight chuckle she smiles "Come on, it's cold out here." He says before carrying her over his shoulder. "L-Luffy..." she groans, embarrassed, it's one thing to carry her, it's another to carry her like this after a tender moment.
He carries her up the latter to the crows nest, before opening the hatch he sets her inside. She looks around seeing a bunch of pillow in blankets by a window. "Were you up here?" She asks, crawling over the spot. She hears him climb in before closing the hatch "Yep." He says. She sits by the spot, glancing over at him she sees him walk over before he sits by the window. "Must be cozy." She whispers with a faint smile. He chuckles he grabs her wrist pulling her beside him "It'll be warmer with both of us." He says covering her in a blanket.
She blushes, their sitting shoulder to shoulder. She glances out the window, you can see the clear white moon. She glances toward him, seeing him stare out the the window at the open ocean. She anxiously hooks her arm around his, before resting her head on his shoulder "You sit in here, alone?" She asks. He nods "Yea." She frowns a bit, beneath the blanket she holds his hand. "Your fingers are cold." He says with a small chuckle before going back to silence.
She thought this would be more enjoyable. "Why aren't you talking?" She asks. He shrugs "Cause I want you to sleep." She tightens her grip on his hand "Don't worry about me." He tightens his grip around hers "I can't do that." She looks up at him, seeing him stare down at him with a firm look. She gulps, were his eyes always this... mature? He turns back to the window, she whimpers a bit, missing his gaze. "Nami?" He asks, she hums in response resting her head on his shoulder again. "What if I can't save you."
Hearing his words her grip on his hand tightens, squeezing it till her fingers sink into the rubber "That's impossible." She says in a irritated tone. "I didn't save you on sabaody." He murmurs. She lifts her head of his shoulder and gazes at the side of his head, she sits up straight, letting go of his hand she grabs his cheek pulling his gaze to her with force. They stare at each other for a moment, her angry eyes to his surprised yet solemn gaze.
"We still came back." She says, loosening her grip on his cheek she gently rubs it, feeling her anger dissipate. "I'm fine. We're fine. We lost once, but we picked ourselves back up. We believed in you, I, believed in you. You will always be there to save us, to save me." She whispers, pulling her head to hers they gently press their heads against one another. "We believe in you." She murmurs looking him in the eyes.
He nods, she legs go of his face, before shifting back to her position, resting her head on his shoulder as they hold hands under the blanket. "You will always be there." She whispers into his shoulder, lifting her head slightly she gently kisses his cheek before closing her eyes resting on his shoulder again. She tightens her grip on his hand, feeling him tighten in return. She smiles slowly dozing off to sleep.
She awakes to a light snoring, she opens her eyes slowly. In the crows nest, she looks down, seeing the blanket that covers her. She shifts a bit, humming sleepily she feels his hand interwoven with hers. It's warm, she likes it. She looks up at him, seeing his sleepy face just as the sun shines through the window. She sees a strand of his hair hand in front of his eye, she giggles a bit, before gently moving it to the side. She sighs softly, she doesn't want to wake him up so she rests her head on his shoulder, snuggling up beside him.
She smiles, beneath the blanket she gently rubs her thumb over his knuckle, feeling his grip tighten. She hears him hum pleasantly as he rests his head on hers, making her giggle. "Nami..." she hears him mumble, she blushes slightly before smiling widely, biting her lip. She knows he's dreaming, but just knowing she's in them makes her happy. She closes her eyes, "Sleep well Captain..." she murmurs. "Love you..."
Just a short little Luffy X Nami story. I wanted something touching and cute. Of course I wanted to make a hot LuNa story with sex and stuff but I just didn't know how. Not saying I forgot but I just didn't know what I would do with that or how to make a little story of it. So I made this, no sex, not a lot of romantic stuff, not saying there isn't any. I hope you liked it.
