Warden-Commander Amell had just arrived at Vigil's Keep with Nathaniel, Anders, and Justice. She can't help but roll her eyes at their conversation. "You must defeat the oppressors, Mage."
"This old thing again? I told you, I am quite fine and alive in the Wardens." Anders replies to Justice's words. Rebecca Amell knows what both of them are feeling. Justice sees the Templar Order as bullies that must be stop while Anders just wants to get as far from the Order as possible. She sees that the Order can hurt mages like herself but the knights in her Circle Tower were good friends, especially Cullen.
"Alright that is quite enough you two." Rebecca stops their argument. "We came to check on the others and see if there is anything left to repair in the keep."
Nathaniel Howe reminds something that lost her thought. "There was a number of injured that needed health potions. Sadly, we use all of them to defeat the First and Baroness."
Rebecca silently curses herself for her stupidly. They don't have anymore healing potions to help the injured from the Withered's attack on the Keep. That was when the Mother in charge of caring for the injured comes towards her.
"Warden-Commander!"
"Damnit…" She whispers and looks at the Mother. "Sorry Mother Boann but we don't have any healing potions."
"Huh? No, that is okay. We have a healer that help the injured." Mother Boann explains which had the Wardens curious about this healer.
"A healer?" Anders ask which has the mother explain.
"Oh yes! That young man you saved two days ago is an apostate and has been treating people. Free of cost, he said!" Boann suddenly clasps her hands and prays to be thankful of the healer. Rebecca, never one to be religious, claps her hands to give her version of a prayer.
"Yes, thank you Mother. Praise the Maker and all of that. We will check him out." She said as she and her Wardens enters the clinic. Inside they see knights and soldiers that use to have serious injuries and stuck on their beds, walking and talking perfectly to eachother.
"Hey there Rebecca!" Oghren runs at his Warden-Commander and greets her while chugging on ale. The Dwarven Warden was critical injured thanks to an ogre slamming him against the ground, repeatingly. "Are you ready to go? I don't want to stay here then I must. They keep trying to take my ale."
"Good to see you are alright Oghren. Could you point me to the person that healed you?" The Amell mage ask her old friend, who points to another room.
"He's in there. Said he was exhausted, like he was going to keel over."
She nods and walks over to room. She opens it to see a normal looking human sleeping. He opens his eyes thanks to the lights and looks to see heavily armored people over him and his bed. He quickly gets up. Rebecca holds her hands up.
"Don't worry. We are not here to fight. I am Warden-Commander Amell."
"Woof. Thanks for giving me a fright. Nice to meet you, I am Keyaru the Healer." He introduces himself and he gasps once he sees Justice. "Oh my. Don't worry sir, I can heal you."
"Um, Keyaru… That isn't going to work." Anders tries to stop him but he keeps going. Keyaru places his hands next to Justice and tries to heal him. However he breathes heavily and stops.
"I don't understand. It is like you are a corpse."
Justice looks at the healer and explains. "That is because I am a corpse. This is the body of Kristoff and I am Justice."
"Sure, just say it." Anders rolls his eyes. This makes Keyaru look at his hands and comes to a realization. He can't revive the dead. The Healer chuckles, knowing he still needs to train his magic. Find other weaknesses or limits and find a way to get stronger.
"I see. Warden-Commander, is there anyone else that needs healing?"
Rebecca thinks of anyone else and she shakes her head. She does have an idea however. "How would you like to run a clinic? We need as many healers as we can. Vigil's Keep will protect you from Templars may come after you."
This makes Keyaru nods. A chance to help people without getting capture by that Order he was hearing about. Rebecca is looking at Keyaru and notices he is wearing dirty rags as clothes. This makes her come to another decision. "First, you need a change in wardrobe. You are lucky I found these nice robes."
Later within the Keep, Keyaru, who is now wearing the Cumberland Circle Robes, is watching some soldiers create a tent for his new clinic next to Wade's armor and weapons shop. "You like it?"
Anders stands next to him. Keyaru looks at his fellow mage. "Oh yes. Be sure to thank Warden-Commander for me."
"I'll be sure to. Hey, think you can teach me a few healing spells?" Anders ask which has Keyaru give a big smile. The chance to teach someone was something he always wanted to do. The Warden Mage looks at Keyaru's big smile and sweat drop. "I will take that as a yes."
"Alright, just calm your mind and place your hands next to her." Keyaru is teaching Anders as he heals a woman with a sickness. The Warden Mage concentrates as his hands glow. She gasps thanks to her throat feeling better. She gets up and hugs the two healers.
"Thank you sers. Here you go." She takes out 50 silver and a gold piece to pay for her treatment. Anders is about to grab them when his teacher stops him. Keyaru grabs just the silver pieces.
"Keep the gold ma'am. Go get a big meal." He suggested and she nods and leave.
"What was that Keyaru? Her treatment took a lot of payment." Anders is confused why he doesn't take the rest. He laughs and gives him half the payment.
"Remember Anders, we don't heal people for money. We do it for them." Keyaru explains which makes Anders nod. A patient enters the clinic and Keyaru looks up to see the person. The patient is a Qunari man, looking down at the healers.
"Saarebas. Heal me." Is all the giant Qunari said, holding his hand where a dagger is still embedded on it.
"Oh my! What happen to you?" Keyaru takes the dagger off and heals the Qunari, who is blankly looking at him.
"Ambush." Is all he said. Keyaru nods and finishes the healing which causes him to hold his hand in pain. The Qunari gives them some silver and walks away. He looks at the Qunari leaving the Keep. He gets up and looks at Anders.
"Take over for now." He said and follows the Qunari. Anders shrugs and meets another patient.
The Qunari is walking into the road that leads to Amaramthine but stops. "Come out."
Five other Qunari step out of the forest and surround him. "You will come for reeducation, Tal-Vashoth."
"I refuse." The Tal-Vashoth fled from Seheron because he refuse to convert people to something they didn't want to. When he found out his Sten was torturing Fog Warriors because they didn't want to be converted, he killed him and left.
The five Qunari take out their weapons and attack the Tal-Vashoth, who takes his war axe and spins around which forces them back. One of them sneaks up and stabs him on the back. He grunts in pain and cleaves his head in half. Two of them throw their spears which he is able to grab but the other hits his knee, making him kneel. The leader takes out chains when the Tal-Vashoth feels a sudden influx of energy. He takes his axe and beheads two Qunari at the same time. Another Qunari tries to attack him when Keyaru jumps out of a tree and falls on top of him.
"OW! That wasn't a good idea!" Keyaru curses himself when he notices he is on an unconscious person. "Oh sorry ser."
"You will pay for your interference." The healer looks up to see a Qunari over him. He rolls out of the way and gets up when the leader is right next to him and try to cleave him in half. The Qunari that he help saves him by blocking the attack. He has more stamina and health thanks to Keyaru healing him when he was hiding.
"Get back Saarebas!" The Tal-Vashoth pushes Keyaru back and he slams his axe into the leader's chest. He falls lifelessly and he checks on Keyaru. "Are you okay?"
Keyaru is grateful that this Tal-Vashoth save him. "I am, thank you for asking. You look like you needed help so I decided to follow you. It is good I did."
The Healer lies as best he can. In truth, he was able to see the Tal-Vashoth's memories and know he was being hunted so he wanted to help him as best he can. Though this rescue mission did show his inexperience in fighting. Perhaps he should train in more offensive magic.
"You have my thanks." The Tal-Vashoth said and walks away for Amaramthine to take a boat out of the kingdom.
"No problem. Take care ser!" Keyaru said and walks back to Vigil's Keep. Unknown to either, the Qunari that Keyaru fell on had woken up. He was able to hear that this person that interfere in their mission is Saarebas. He will wait until both of them are gone, then he will go back to the Arvaarad and warn him of the dangerous mage.
The Healer Hero enters the clinic and sits next to Anders, who is having a break. The Warden Mage looks at his teacher and notices his robes are covered in blood. "Rough day?"
"Yep." Is all Keyaru said. He stretches his arms and yawn. "You know something Anders, I think this place is perfect. Good defense and strong soldiers."
"I agree. Rebecca made this Keep better then before. You would have to be moronic to fight now. Isn't that right Sir Pounce-a-lot?"
"Meow!" The cat in his robes pops it's head out which Keyaru finds adorable.
"Anders… Can I..?" Keyaru tries to find the right words but Anders already knows the question.
"Go ahead." Anders said and Keyaru smiles as he pets Sir Pounce-a-lot the kitten. These two have become fast friends and learn greatly from each other.
Unknown to either mages, they would deal with something that would separate them for years.
