"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Leo! Happy birthday to you!"

A smile stretched wide across my face at the loud, highly out of tune voices of my beloved family. Mikey was by far the loudest, waving his arms around widely as he sang, accentuating his vowels and adding cha cha chas where he could. Donnie, although not singing loudly, smiled sincerely, signing most of the song in sign language. Raph, grinned from where he leaned against the wall and he'd punch anyone who said anything but he was most definitely singing. I rolled my eyes, my smile wide.

I really didn't need all this attention but after the year my family had been through I didn't really have a leg to stand on argument wise so here I was, at a great big loud birthday party. Yay.

"Happy Birthday Leo!" Mikey squealed as he hugged me tightly, I squeezed my youngest brother back just as foundly.

"Blow out the candles Leo" April encouraged.

"Wait" Mikey throughout his arms. Stealing me with a serious look he explained. "You have to think of a wish first, dude, and don't waste it." He warned his eyes narrowed seriously.

I smiled good naturally "okay Mikey"

"And you can't tell us what it is," Mikey warned, pointing a finger at me.

"It is the birthday rules after all." Baxter smirked from where he sat at the table. "And you've always been very rule-abiding , no use breaking that trend now." He teased me.

A smile spread across my face as I looked around the kitchen holding those I most love and care about, and I knew exactly what my wish was.

Raph batted Mikey's hand away as the youngest tried to put a party hat on the hothead, his tongue sticking out in concentration as he attempted to sneak the colorful polka-dotted red hat onto his brothers' head. Everyone else had relented earlier. I wore my signature blue, while Donnie and Mikey stuck to purple and orange, April went with yellow and Casey had decorated his own hat with skulls and hockey sticks to match his own personality. Baxter had been more skeptical but of course relented to Mikey's puppy eyes. I saw it as growth that he was included in these shenanigans. My heart warmed as I looked around the room. A year ago I was confused and lost, unsure if I'd ever get my memories back. Now here I am, Hamato Leonardo: leader and protector of the Hamotto clan, reunited with my brothers and surrounded with my family. I had never felt more safe and centered than I did right now.

I smirked as Raph swatted the hat away pulling Mikey into headlock as he gave the resident prankster a noogie. Donnie sat at the table, his purple hat tilted off to the side as he talked amiably with April and Baxter about his latest invention.

I leaned down and blew out the candles.

My wish: it had already come true.

{Insert Squeal here} Yay! It's finally done!
