Kind of short chapters at the moment. First couple seem kind of boring, but it'll get better! Hopefully everyone enjoys it!
The next morning Fallon woke me up by shaking me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw him smiling down at me.
"Mama." He said.
"Yes baby?" I said half asleep.
"Is it time for us to leave yet?"
I picked my phone up and saw it was two thirty in the morning, a half hour before we had to get up to go to the airport. I frowned.
"Not yet. We don't have to be up for another half hour."
Fallon frowned, "But I wanna go."
I smiled at him, "I know baby. But the plane doesn't leave until later."
He sighed and sat down. He looked over at his brother and started poking him.
"Fallon, leave your brother alone." I said as I sat up.
He didn't listen. He just kept poking Roman. Roman had swatted at Fallon in his sleep but didn't wake. I sighed and looked over at Esme. She was sound asleep still. I smiled to myself and got up.
"Mama?"
I turned around and dropped my head when I saw Roman had woken up. Roman sat up and looked around. His eyes fell on his brother and he frowned. I walked over to them and picked them both up. They snuggled into me.
"You both should go back to sleep. We don't have to leave for a little bit." I said as I sat on the couch with them.
"But Mama-"
"Fallon, please don't argue."
He frowned.
"What if we miss the plane?" Roman asked.
"We won't miss the plane. Besides, if you don't go back to sleep now, you won't be awake when we get on the plane. And I know you want to see it and watch it take off."
Neither of them argued. They both snuggled into me more and quickly fell back to sleep. I hummed quietly as I held, wishing they were all babies again. I kissed the tops of their heads and continued to hum.
After about twenty minutes, I laid the boys on the couch and got up. My alarm was supposed to go off in about ten minutes. I sighed and figured I might as well get ready. I quickly packed up the blankets and pillows from the boys. Esme was still sleeping on hers.
I smiled to myself and started to take things out to the car.
Kid's POV
I stared at the letter again. The letter that Liz had sent me five long years ago. I frowned when I read the part about her sending me updates about our….our triplets. I'm not sure if she just forgot she said that or just didn't feel like sending anything.
When I had gotten the letter, I had tried to find her and the triplets. But somehow I never managed to find them. It broke my heart knowing I was a father but didn't even know my children. I sighed and closed my eyes.
"Kid?"
I looked up and smiled, "Hey Honey."
Honey smiled and walked over to me, "You wanna go see a movie tonight? There's a new one out I think."
"If you want, baby." I said as I put the letter away.
Honey smiled again and moved her long red hair to the side and playfully hit me in the face with it. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her into a hug. She giggled and leaned down and gave me a quick kiss.
"How about we invite Soul and Maka? It's been forever since we hung out with them." Honey said as she pulled back.
I sighed, "We can ask but they've barely gone out since Gabriella was born."
Honey frowned, "I know we haven't been together that long, but are we ever going to have a baby?"
I frowned and pushed Honey out of my arms, "I'm not ready to be a father. I don't know if I ever will be."
She crossed her arms, "It's because of your bitch of an ex isn't it? She ran away and killed your baby, so now you don't want a baby!"
I shot to my feet, "Don't you ever say anything bad about Liz or my children. And I never said she killed the baby. I said I'm not ready to be a father because I have triplets with Liz, that I haven't even been able to be there for!"
Honey just turned and walked away. I sat back down and closed my eyes while rubbing my temples.
Honey and I have been together for about two years now. But I still loved Liz. I was trying to move on and at one point I thought I was falling in love with Honey. I told her about Liz a few months ago, she didn't take the news very well. She constantly hinted at wanting to get married and have children but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
I sighed and grabbed my phone. I texted Soul.
Hey. So I was going to see if you and Maka wanted to go see a movie tonight with me and Honey but I think I pissed her off. You mind if I come over for a bit?
Soul: Maka and I wouldn't have been able to anyway lol. But yea you can come over for a bit. Archer's got a cold though.
I sighed, "At least I can get out of the house for awhile"
Alright. I'll be over in about twenty minutes. See ya.
I got up and walked out to the living room. Honey was sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone. She turned her head slightly and gave me a dirty look. I sighed and shook my head.
"I'm going out for a while. Not sure when I'll be back."
She didn't bother to answer me. She just waved. I turned and walked out to the front room.
I'd have to do something to make it up to her but I honestly didn't feel like it. Being with Honey was starting to feel like too much work.
I sighed and slipped my shoes on and walked out of the house.
I had finally gotten to Soul's house and knocked on the door when my phone rang. I looked down and saw an unknown number. I didn't bother answering it.
"Hey Kid. What'd you do to piss her off?" Soul said as he opened the door.
"I stuck up for Liz."
Soul laughed as we walked into the living room. Maka was sitting on the couch humming to Gabriella.
"Are you still having that nightmare?" Maka asked without looking up.
"Every night." I said.
They both looked at me and frowned.
"What's it about again?" Maka asked.
I sat down and closed my eyes, "I'm in a dark room, no windows or doors. I can hear Liz screaming or at least I think it's Liz. Then someone starts laughing and telling me that I'm going to regret having a family."
"Have you talked to your father? Sometimes dreams mean something and your subconscious could be trying to tell you something."
I looked over at Maka and gave her a frown, "He just brushes it off and says you're the son of Death, you shouldn't be having nightmares."
Soul laughed, "He does realize your worst nightmare is everything being asymmetrical, right? And that you used to keep me up all night, going on and on about how nothing in our house was symmetrical."
Maka let out a little laugh, "Soul, you know he's gotten better about that. Don't tease him too much about it."
I laughed a little as well, "I take it, Blair still doesn't have any answers about it?"
"No. She's been trying to find some dream witch, but hasn't had any luck."
We fell silent. I looked over at the window and saw a mouse just sitting there staring at us. I shrugged it off and turned back towards Maka and Soul. Soul had taken Gabriella and was walking back towards the rooms. I sighed as I felt a twinge of jealousy.
"Liz will eventually be back." Maka said quietly.
"She never sent me any updates on our triplets, like she said she would. I was able to find her either. What makes you think she'll be back?"
I felt like I was going to snap. Everyone had known where she'd been. They had told me a year after Liz had left. I went there and went right to the house she was supposed to be living in. But when I got there, it was empty. The whole town was empty. I had looked around the town for hours but there were no signs of anyone.
"She'll be back. When you went to Germany, there had been a kishin in the making. Everyone in that town had been killed. Everyone but Liz. So it probably meant she had to start over and had to figure everything out again." Maka snapped.
I didn't answer, I just stormed out of the house.
Liz's house had been empty and looked like it had been ransacked. I didn't find much when I got there. But I did find Honey. I don't know how or why she was alive but it gave me a sense of hope that Liz was still alive.
I had walked and didn't pay attention and somehow ended up by where Liz and I had our first date. I sat down and let a few tears slide down my face.
