After the 4 girls shared their group hug for the first time since the days at Beacon they eventually had to pull apart and realize how tired they were. With Ozpin resting within Oscar and everyone else suddenly feeling drained it wasn't a great time to party. After all they had just managed to survive the ambush set by Lionheart and the White Fang's attempted attack on Mistral Academy.

Heading back to the house they had been staying at was quiet, the faunus that had come from Menagerie were permitted to sleep in the student dorms temporarily whilst they were still in Haven. Blake's parents were no exception joining the other faunus in the student dorms. The only faunus that felt really conflicted was Blake, Sun had been talking to Ilia as they walked ahead of Blake but both stopped when they noticed Blake stop and stare at her team slowly making their way back to the house.

Yang pretended not to really notice, she had put a happy face on when the girls hugged but right now there was still a lot of tension with those two, Blake was unsure if going with the Yang and the rest of her old team and friends would be a good choice or not, she didn't want to impose and appear as though she was forcing her way back into their lives. On the other hand she had lead all the faunus from Menagerie, she couldn't leave Ilia alone to. The decision was made for her though as Ruby smiled at Blake telling her not to worry as they'd come by tomorrow after they rested.

Blake nodded thanking Ruby and nervously stammered the words "I'll see you tomorrow". With that Yang's tired mind went straight for the first reaction as she looked back at Blake looking at her clearly with the face that read "If you're still here". Blake felt guilty once again, Sun and Ilia stepped in though somehow knowing Blake just needed a little more support as the two groups split. Blake knew Weiss and Ruby would be looking after Yang while Sun and Ilia would be looking out for her.

When Blake hit the dorm rooms she really felt tired, a lot o fighting and dealing with emotions had drained her completely, she thought of Yang and the rest of her friends thinking that they'd be more tired then her, as soon as everyone's head hit the pillow in their rooms they fell straight asleep except for two, Yang and Blake who stayed awake thinking about one another, what would they say to the other tomorrow or perhaps if the other would want to see them. Eventually both drifted off to sleep but only after the millions of thoughts coursing through their minds.

The next day...

Blake had made sure she got up early wanting to see her old friends she missed dearly despite not really knowing what to say or if they'd ever forgive her. She spoke to Sun and Ilia telling them her plans so Sun decided to show Ilia around Mistral and introduce her to the rest of Team SSSN. Blake wished Ilia good luck thinking how Ilia would go hanging out with 4 guys that were kind of dorks.

Blake walked by herself through the town, reporters were at the school and they had tried to get statements from her but with the help of her semblance and her parents taking the questions she was able to slip away. Blake was left alone with her thoughts on her way to the house her friends were staying in, trying to come up with a lighter way of explaining what she did especially to Yang. Thinking of the last night Yang looked happy to see her but she needed to know what Yang really did think of her.

She arrived just before 11am, knocking on the door the house stayed silent, after several minutes she knocked again this time a little louder, still no movement which had Blake concerned, kicking the door down did certainly make the house a little more louder realizing her mistake kicking the door in with Gambol Shroud drawn and ready to fight, the house was filled with Huntsman and Huntresses that were awakened suddenly.

Weiss, Ruby, Ren and Jaune flew out of their rooms with sounds of the others stirring with their weapons drawn possibly thinking Salem's forces had returned, the only people still sleeping was Oscar/Ozpin who was still worn out from the fight and Qrow who was on the couch passed out with an empty bottle in his hand. The 4 that were first to react had began to relax seeing it was Blake who kicked in their door. Yang and Nora had come out of their rooms ready to back up everyone but Ruby shouted out to the household that it was a misunderstanding.

Blake blushed profusely holding her left arm with her right hand, her Cat ears falling as she apologized after explaining how she knocked and thought something may be wrong when there was no answer. Nora and Yang looked at each other before back to the group as they needed more sleep before they could do anything, Ren followed them in but Ruby and Weiss stretched and welcomed Blake in as Jaune excused himself to make coffee for the four of them.

Qrow sprawled on the couch smelling like alcohol wasn't exactly the best area to start a conversation so Ruby had the idea of having them sit outside looking out across Mistral, Blake didn't think Weiss would sit on the ground with them but Weiss was the first to sit followed by Ruby. They looked at Blake who nervously sat down next to them, they clearly had changed since Beacon, Ruby was the first to point out to Blake's ears just saying "no bow?"

Blake reached up to her ears and knew it was Ruby's way of asking about how she didn't wear her bow anymore. Telling them how after she left that she headed to Menagerie where she didn't exactly need a bow but also how she wanted to stop hiding who she actually was. Ruby beamed her usual smile glad that Blake had chosen to do so as she said they're still cute.

Weiss gave Ruby a good smack on the head telling her to behave herself calling her a dolt thinking Blake may not be ready to talk about her ears like that, Blake looked at them both as Ruby pouted rubbing her head, yes they had changed but she was glad that some things hadn't changed, Ruby was still her pure innocent self. At that point Jaune had found them outside carrying a tray of 4 cups of coffee, everyone knew how Ruby liked her coffee and Jaune had made it perfectly as the other 3 had taken a sip while Ruby just started pouring it into her mouth.

It went a little quiet until Blake finally asked the question she had to know the answer to, out of nowhere she asked Jaune, Ruby and Weiss "Do you hate me for leaving?"

Yang POV:

When Yang had gotten up after hearing the commotion and seeing Blake had her experiencing mixed emotions, she was glad to see Blake despite kicking the door open. It was too early to handle anything though, she hadn't had a great night sleep either and when she returned to her room instead of going to bed she leant against the door trying to hear what was being said, Jaune, Blake, Weiss and Ruby were keeping their voices low to respect everyone still needing sleep.

She didn't go to bed though, they had moved away from the lounge and headed outside, Yang could see them from her window, she wanted to rush out and see Blake, still unsure of exactly what she'd do when and if she did rush out though, she watched them talk as Jaune arrived it did go quiet. Yang guessed it wasn't the blonde that Blake was expecting, she watched as they stayed silent and when Blake said something it had Jaune, Ruby and Weiss freak out as they stared at Blake giving her an answer straight away.

Jaune said something after getting up and leaving while Ruby and Weiss kept talking to Blake, she could tell it was serious as Blake's ears were flat and how her ears now showed her expression, Ruby looked so worried and Weiss was giving Blake an encouraging smile as they talked. She needed to be there for her team but before she could turn and run out the door she remembered how Blake wasn't there for her before, her left hand starting shaking once more as she took a deep breath to try get it under control again, multiple thoughts ran through her head and the main thought was asking herself if she was being a fool for wanting to trust Blake again, a set up just to see her fail type of fool.

Blake POV:

Jaune had left knowing this was a Team RWBY conversation, Ruby and Weiss were apologetic straight away if they had make Blake feel like that. They kept assuring her that they don't hate her, they were glad to have her back, seeing her in one piece and ultimately happy they could see their friend again, however it was just going to be weird at first. Weiss followed Ruby by mentioning how everyone had changed being apart, Blake started to feel a little better about herself but the 3 girls knew 1 of their team members may have mixed emotions.

Blake asked for Ruby's advice on how she could approach her sister, Ruby couldn't be much help there, growing up Yang had always looked after her but still gave her tips that could work telling her all about the times Yang was there for her. Weiss chimed in telling Blake about their conversation before she did come back about how everyone had their own version of loneliness.

Blake was still feeling guilty and really nervous about it so Ruby tried to lighten the situation which backfired as she told Blake how she had left her Dad and sister a note leaving them freak out while she walked across Anima with Jaune, Ren and Nora. The attempt was met with more awkward silence as Weiss hit Ruby on the back of the head once again telling their leader raising her voice about how that didn't help.

Blake smiled as Weiss turned her way, being reminded the 4 of them had been through a lot together and apart and she could do it, telling Blake to just be direct if she couldn't think of anything, it'll show you're serious about patching things up. Ruby knew better to make another joke or remark but did agree with Weiss, Yang had always been the one to deal with things head on.

Later that morning...

After everyone had awoken and eaten everyone got together in the living room, they needed to fill Blake in on exactly what they were doing at Haven and now their task. Once again Professor Ozpin/Oscar and Qrow explained about Salem and her plan, Blake couldn't really believe it, however looking around the room she could see that in fact it was true, Professor Ozpin proved that he was with paired with Oscar by bringing up the conversation they had after they stopped the White Fang at the docks back at Beacon as Oscar quoted Ozpin "Well you have most certainly survived Blake".

There was no way Oscar would've known that nor her teammates, it was just them two in the room while they had their little chat. Blake looked around the room, her eyes falling to Yang's which met but not for long as Blake quickly looked somewhere else but could clearly see Yang wasn't thrilled about this whole conversation which had Blake curious. Ruby and Weiss supported Blake as everyone headed off to do their own thing, Qrow pulled out his flask as he left Jaune, Ren and Nora headed off into the City of Mistral, and Oscar headed off with them.

Now it was just Team RWBY by themselves but not for long as Yang mumbled that she was going to work on Bumblebee, heading outside leaving the 3 girls sitting on the couch. Blake's ears flattened as she looked down too nervous to stop Yang or follow her out. Weiss and Ruby stood in front of Blake telling her to go fix things with Yang, she needed to be the one to make the first move anyway, Blake got up saying she would but she needed time to process what had just been revealed to her.

Yang had laid out the tools she needed as she started giving Bumblebee a service, she heard footsteps behind her and knew it was Blake, without looking back she rudely asked "We having that chat now?" There was no answer and Yang looked behind her seeing Qrow drinking out of his flask, "You know you're going to have to talk to her Firecracker" he said calmly. Yang nodded telling her Uncle that she knew but she had no idea if she was ready to.

Qrow shrugged telling her the more she put it off, the harder it would be to talk. He then put his hand on her shoulder telling her that if she could handle Raven then she could handle a conversation with the dark haired emo one, as he got up he then smirked "You know what you told me at Beacon could still happen" walking away he called back over his shoulder "Good luck Firecracker".

Blake was standing at the front of the house seeing Qrow talk to Blake, she did hear a good chunk of their conversation as Qrow left. Yang guessed where he was going and thought of how hard it was to talk about the whole Salem ordeal. She sighed as she packed up her tools, Bumblebee was in great service as she and her Dad had made sure Bumblebee was good as new before she left to find Ruby. She needed to go talk to Blake, Standing up and turning around seeing Blake at the front door of the house looking towards her nervously.

Yang thought it was her mind playing tricks on her but after a double take she knew it was Blake. They began walking to each other and stopping a couple of metres apart facing each other. Blake held her left arm with her right and, ears flattened and looking down at Yang's right arm. Yang got her attention telling her "We need to talk". Blake and her ears rose up at Yang's sudden words as they both met each others eye.

Blake could only nod unsure of what to say first or where they should talk, however she was taken by surprise as Yang quickly closed the gap hugging her, it took Blake a few seconds to realize Yang was hugging her, a little unsure she wrapped her arms around Yang. Yang had tears in her eyes as they embraced each other. As Yang hugged Blake she asked "How could you leave me like that?" Blake realized that Yang wasn't only hugging her cause she missed her but now in her embrace she can't run without hurting Yang not just emotionally but physically and would have to face the question.

Blake gulped not knowing how Yang would react as she began telling Yang her reasons for leaving, how she didn't want her friends to suffer for her actions, how Sun helped see that she wasn't being selfless and how pushing friends that want to help away would hurt more than the bad guys could ever do to them. Blake started crying as Yang had tears forming in her eyes as Blake apologised about Yang's arm being cut off by Adam, apologised for leaving her by herself. Yang gripped Blake tighter "What happened to me is not your fault" pulling back looking into Blake's tear filled eyes through her own.

"We were training to be Huntresses, this could've happened at any time against any foe, yes it took some getting used to which took time, however in that time I was alone, you left me..." Silence fell between the two girls, all you could hear was the sound of sobbing in between them, Blake held onto Yang not letting her go this time as she stuttered a bit at first. "I... I... I promise..." pulling back a bit to look into Yang's eyes "I promise I will never leave you again" The two both fell to their knees as they embraced each other however crying from tears of joy of being back in each others eyes.
