In her room at the Owl House, Eda was still asleep, but now she was tossing and turning in her nest as a very painful memory from when she was younger came to her mind.

Flashback

Eda drowsily opened her eyes and found herself lying on the floor of a kitchen in a house that wasn't the Owl House.

"Ugh, my head", Eda said, "what happened?"

She stood herself back up on her feet, then suddenly, she began to worry.

"Oh no", Eda said, "the curse must've taken over again."

Eda began walking down the hall, still nervous about what she thought had happened.

"I hope the Owl Beast didn't do too much damage", Eda said, "I can't bear the thought of anyone in this house getting hurt by it."

She then walked past a room and caught a glimpse of something that made her stop dead in her tracks in fear, and when she walked back over to the room and looked inside it, her reaction was one of pure horror.

"No", Eda said.

It was a room that belonged to a baby, as evidenced by some objects that were in it, such as a crib, but the room was a mess, with furniture being knocked over and the window being broken, but the most frightening sight of all was the giant claw marks that were on the walls and floor.

"No", Eda said, "no, this isn't happening."

Eda rushed into the room and began looking frantically for something, or rather someone.

"Where is he", Eda asked, "where's my baby?"

"Gone", a voice said.

Eda turned around and saw a male witch who happened to be her ex-husband standing at the door, his appearance concealed by the shadows of the hallway.

"What do you mean gone", Eda asked.

"A giant monster got in here and tried to go after the baby", the witch said, "I tried to fight it off, but it was no good."

Upon hearing that it was a giant monster who was responsible for the mess, Eda believed that she really had turned into the Owl Beast, and was now more scared than ever.

"This is all that's left of him", the witch said.

The witch tossed a ripped, blood-stained yellow blanket on the ground, and Eda looked down at it with tears forming in her eyes.

"No", Eda said, "not my son."

Eda got down on her knees and picked up the blanket, and after her husband walked away, she began crying her eyes out over the apparent death of her infant son.

"This is my fault", Eda said, "I lost control of the curse and let the Owl Beast take over, and now my son is dead."

Eda held her son's blanket against her face.

"Because of me", Eda said, "my little boy died as a baby."

Eda removed the blanket from her face, with some of the blood that was on it getting on her face, and she continued to cry over the loss of her baby.

End Flashback

In the present, Eda shot awake screaming and began to breathe heavily, then looked around and saw that she was in her room.

"Oh, thank goodness", Eda said, "I'm glad that's over."

It was then that she began to feel sad about the memory she had experienced in her sleep.

"But I can never forget what happened that night", Eda said, "the night the Owl Beast killed my son."

She then looked at a photo strip of her and Hunter from their trip to the amusement park.

"Or so I believed", Eda said.

Eda left her room and went downstairs, and as she made her way into the living room, she noticed Luz and Amity looking through her photo album, much to her surprise.

"Where did you get that", Eda asked.

Luz and Amity looked up from the book and saw Eda standing in front of them.

"We found it on the coffee table", Amity said.

"I must've forgot to put it back in my hair", Eda thought.

"There sure are a lot of neat photos in here", Luz said.

"She's right", Amity said, "my favorite one is this one."

Amity turned the pages of the book to the one that contained the picture Eda had been looking at previously of her holding a baby in a hospital bed.

"It's nice to see a baby picture of me with you instead of my adoptive parents", Amity said.

"And you looked so happy here", Luz said, "but then again, I guess when you've just given birth to your daughter, it's only natural that you might feel that way."

Eda decided that now was the time for her to tell Amity something she'd been thinking about telling her for a while.

"Amity", Eda said, "I think there's something you should know."

"What is it, Mom", Amity asked.

"That baby I'm holding in the picture isn't you", Eda said.

"What", Amity asked, "then who is it?"

"Your brother", Eda said.

Both Luz and Amity were surprised to hear Eda reveal such a fact.

"My brother", Amity asked, "are you serious?"

"I am", Eda said, "before you were born, I gave birth to a son."

"You had a baby before Amity", Luz asked, "who knew?"

"I didn't", Amity said, "also, why didn't you tell me about this?"

"Because I was afraid of what your reaction would be", Eda said, "you were so surprised to find out I was your birth mom that I was worried you'd freak out if I said you had a brother who came before you."

"Okay, I guess you've got a point", Amity said, "but where is he now?"

"Yeah", Luz said, "what happened to your son?"

"Better get comfortable", Eda said, "it's a long story."

Eda sat down with Luz and Amity and began telling them the story.

"So, you know the story of my husband, right", Eda asked, "we met, fell in love, and got married?"

"We remember", Luz said.

"Well, it was about a year after we got married that I found out I was pregnant with my son", Eda said, "I was so happy to learn that I was going to be a mom, but at the same time, I was worried."

"Why", Amity asked.

"Because of my curse", Eda said, "I was worried that it might have some kind of effect on my baby, and sure enough, it turned out I was right."

"What was it", Luz asked.

"Thanks to the properties of my curse, the baby was born without the ability to do magic", Eda said, "my son was a powerless witch because of me."

"Don't blame yourself, Mom", Amity said, "it wasn't your fault."

"That's right", Luz said, "it was something that was out of your control."

"Maybe so", Eda said, "but I felt certain that what eventually happened to him was my fault."

"What happened", Amity asked.

"It happened some time after he was born", Eda said, "I was having a drink of apple blood before I went to bed, when suddenly, I blacked out."

"Blacked out", Luz asked.

"That's right", Eda said, "when I woke up, I had this awful pain in my head and a horrifying surprise waiting for me."

"What was it", Amity asked.

"My son's room", Eda said, "it was a mess with all the furniture knocked over and broken, and there were also giant claw marks all over the place."

"Claw marks", Amity asked, "oh dear."

"What was the thing that did all that", Luz asked.

"Well, my husband told me that a monster broke into the baby's room and tried to kill it", Eda said, "he said he tried to fight it off, but..."

Eda trailed off as she remembered that night.

"But what", Amity asked, "what happened."

Tears were forming in Eda's eyes.

"The monster killed him", Eda said.

Luz and Amity were shocked to hear that.

"The monster had killed my little baby boy", Eda said, "but I didn't think it was as simple as that."

"What do you mean", Amity asked.

"I thought that the reason I blacked out earlier was because I lost control of my curse, so I believed that it was the Owl Beast who killed my son", Eda said.

"Oh, Eda", Luz said, "that's terrible."

"I know", Eda said, "ever since then, I've been living with the guilt of my son dying when he was only a baby."

Amity was sorry to see her mother in so much pain.

"But now, after all this time", Eda said, "he's back."

"What", Amity asked.

"My son has returned to me", Eda said.

"How", Luz asked.

"I don't know", Eda said, "but whatever happened to him, it turns out he's been alive this whole time."

"Do you know where he is", Amity asked.

"I do", Eda said, "he's been living with us in the Owl House for the past month."

Luz was able to figure out who Eda was referring to.

"Are you talking about Hunter", Luz asked.

"Yes I am", Eda said.

"How do you know he's your son", Amity asked.

"I figured it out when he told me Paxton Delacroix was his dad", Eda said, "I didn't believe it at first, but after a while, I realized that he must be my son."

"Hang on", Amity said, "are you saying that Mr. Delacroix..."

"Is your birth father", Eda asked, "you bet I am."

Amity could hardly believe that she had finally found out who her birth father was.

"Does Hunter know about this", Luz asked.

"No", Eda said, "I haven't told him yet."

"Well, you should probably tell him soon", Amity said.

"You're right", Eda said, "I'm just waiting for the right time to do it."

At that moment, the front door swung open and Hunter ran inside.

"Oh, look", Luz said, "here he is now."

Hunter ran over to the couch and tried to tell Eda and the girls what he learned about Paxton, but they couldn't understand him because he was breathing heavily from exhaustion.

"I'll be right back", Eda said.

Eda got up and walked into the kitchen, then came back with a glass of water.

"Here", Eda said, "have a drink."

Hunter took the glass and drank the water in it, and once he was done, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks", Hunter said, "I needed that."

"No problem", Eda said, "now, what's going on?"

"Guys", Hunter said, "I just learned something about my Dad that's really, really bad."

He then told them all about how he learned that Paxton was the Master of Undivision and also the one that started the True Magic Coven in the first place.

"Oh, wow", Luz said, "that is bad."

"I'll say", Eda said, "Paxton's an even bigger bastard than I thought he was."

"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you guys", Hunter said, "I should've been more cautious around Dad."

"It's alright, Hunter", Luz said, "but what's important now is stopping Paxton."

"Luz is right", Eda said, "or else the Boiling Isles is doomed."

"Everything's gonna be okay", Amity said, "we'll stop him together, big bro."

"Alright", Hunter said, "I guess..."

He then realized what Amity had just said to him.

"Did you just call me big bro", Hunter asked.

"Yes I did", Amity said.

"Why", Hunter asked.

"Well", Amity said, "you see..."

Amity and Luz looked at Eda, and the adult witch knew what it was time for her to do, so she kneeled down to Hunter and spoke to him.

"Hunter", Eda said.

"Yes, Eda", Hunter asked.

"There's something you need to know", Eda said, "I'm your..."

Before she could finish, the sound of a blast filled the air.

"What was that", Luz asked.

"It came from outside", Eda said.

The group rushed out the front door and found that the area around the Owl House was surrounded by a big ring of fire, and out from the flames stepped several members of the True Magic Coven, as well as Paxton, who was wearing his Master of Undivision outfit.

"Oh no", Hunter said, "they followed me here."

Paxton stared at the group of Owl House residents for a few seconds, but soon, he removed his stone mask, revealing his face to them, which made Eda even more livid to see him.

"Hello, my beloved", Paxton said.
