Britta was walking out of the study room with her air pods on, blasting a Scott Barry Kaufmann podcast. Ever since she decided to switch majors, she's been knee-deep in all things psychology. Therapists could help people solve problems and make their lives better; it's all she's ever wanted. Walking to her next class, she briefly overhears a familiar voice call her name. She turns around and spots Jeff.

"Oh, hey Winger, how's the professor life? I heard it's rather enjoyable." Britta teases with a smirk. It was still crazy to believe that one of her closest friends was now a professor.

"Easy Perry, no need to be hostile, and to answer your question, I'm learning to live with it, especially with Annie's help. She's been tutoring me with her textbooks." Jeff answers with an eye roll, whispering the last word as if it was banned.

"Wow, it sounds exactly like what our Annie," Britta says with a small laugh. After Britta's response, Jeff and Britta break into a small fit of laughter. She missed times like this, and she was glad that the group was back together. After coming down from the laugher, she could see that Jeff wanted to say something but was holding back.

"Alright, Jeff, what was so important that you needed to interrupt my psychology podcast" Britta decides to ask. It was getting to the good stuff too, who doesn't want to learn about therapizing patients without a license?

"Okay, Annie's birthday is in a couple of days, and I was planning on throwing a party for her at the local karaoke restaurant. I also want you to help me shop for gifts while everyone else brings the food and supplies.

Jeff Winger, planning a surprise party and asking her for help with gift shopping. Was this the same Jeff Winger she met back in college? She knew Jeff had a heart, especially when he left a voicemail to the group at the end of the valentine's day dance. There were times his vulnerability would catch her off-guard, especially right now.

"Wow, I never thought I'd hear the word plan come out of your mouth, but okay, I'll help. What do you need me to do?" Britta relents. Despite hating shopping, she finds it enjoyable to shop for her friends and seeing their reactions.

"Okay, I'll drop by apartment 303 sometime in the morning," Jeff replies.

"Alright, sounds like a plan," Britta says with a nod, happy to help. Looking forward to shopping and planning out a birthday party, Britta hits play on her psychology podcast and walks through the door of her classroom.

It was the day after Jeff had informed her about the surprise party. After receiving a text to come downstairs, Britta swiftly leaves the apartment, giving her roommates an excuse about tying herself to a tree for human rights. Before she leaves, Britta gives Abed and Troy a knowing look and a wave to Annie before heading downstairs.

"I think Annie bought it," Britta says, entering the backseat of the Lexus. Britta, completely incognizant of Shirley's presence, greets her friend. "Hey Shirls, I didn't know you were joining us."

"Hi Brit-ta, I heard Jeff was going to the mall, so I wanted to tag along. I haven't been out much ever since Andre left." Shirley explains to Britta, shaking her head with a sad, forlorn look. Britta sometimes forgets how much Shirley has been through. Britta lays her hand on her friend's shoulder, trying her best to comfort her.

"Shirls were family, that means we'll always going to be here for you, no matter what." Britta gives Jeff a look, encouraging him to help her. He was the creator of winger speeches, after all.

"Britta's right," Jeff beginning his speech. "Look at me," Jeff gestures to himself. "I am a failed lawyer twice, but despite that, you guys still accept me for who I am. The group would go through hell and back for you, Tinkletown, everyone," Jeff says gives Shirley a supportive smile.

"Yeah! Now, let's stop talking about your douchebag husband and get Annie the best damn gifts ever!" Britta says, giving Shirley high-five before proceeding to put on their seatbelts.

"You guys ready to go?" Jeff asks Britta and Shirley as they finish putting on their seatbelts. They both give Jeff a nod. With that, he turns on the heater, turns up some Dave Matthews, and pulls out of the parking lot.

Back at apartment 303, Abed and Troy had just woken up and were now sitting at their kitchen bar, waiting for Annie to serve them pancakes. Abed had noticed that she has been making pancakes more often. Abed knows that the only time Annie makes pancakes is when she's happy or seeing someone. This thought lingered but ended abruptly after noticing the plate of steaming pancakes.

"Here you go," Annie says, putting a plate of pancakes in front of her roommates with a proud smile, wiping her hands and apron clean of flour.

"Mm, they smell amazing," Troy says, tucking his napkin around his neck, ready to go down on the pancakes. After the boys prepped themselves, they began to eat.

'Mm so delicious," both Troy and Abed mumble with a mouthful.

While Annie was wiping down the kitchen, Abed saw an opportunity to test the water regarding his earlier thoughts.

"Annie has a secret boyfriend," Abed blurts out. There goes the testing the water idea, subtlety wasn't his thing anyways.

Annie immediately squeaks and stops wiping the counter. She looks up with wide eyes but regains her composure enough to answer his comment.

"What are you talking about Abed?"

"Annie, do I look like a coat rack to you? I am an observer. I spot trends, and whenever you make pancakes, you're usually seeing someone," Abed responds. He narrows his eyes, giving Annie his best formidable look.

After a long uncomfortable silence, Annie gives up her act.

"Ugh fine!" Annie relents with a huff, "He's Hot, Tall, Funny, and loves to cuddle. He loves to Die Hard and is amazing at se—" Annie lists off her fingers, looking off into the distance dreamily.

"Annie, please stop right there, you don't have to explain any further," Abed raises his hand in front of him to stop his roommate from going into unnecessary territory. It was not a good time to wrinkle Troy's brains.

Speaking of Troy, he decides to join the conversation.

"Wait, Annie, you said Die Hard, as in Bruce Willis Die Hard? When are we going to meet this guy?" Troy asks.

"I'm not sure Troy, I'll let him know you asked. Right now, I have to get some studying completed," Annie quickly answers and begins heading to her room.

"Okay, and Annie? As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. We can't wait to meet him" Troy says with a smile, giving Annie a thumbs up.

Annie looks back and smiles, she walks over to her roommates, hugging them quickly before pulling away and retreating to her room, leaving Abed and Troy to themselves.

"Hey, wanna watch Inspector Spacetime's Christmas special?" Abed asks.

"You just read my mind buddy," Troy replies. The duo exchanges their signature handshake before heading to the couch and enjoying their weekend.

~.~

While Abed, Troy, and Annie were enjoying their weekend at apartment 303. Jeff, Britta, and Shirley were grabbing some coffee before their day of shopping.

"Woo! I think I'm ready to go!" Britta says with a weird amount of enthusiasm. It probably had something to do with the six shots of expresso in her caramel macchiato.

"Yes, Brit-ta, we noticed after the sixth time you mentioned it," Shirley responds with an eye roll.

"Alright ladies, I have a really good gift idea, but I'd like to..." As Jeff was about to explain his thoughts his phone rings, cutting his thought process off. "Oh hey, bab…." Jeff begins to answer but flits his eyes to Shirley and Britta, causing the two women to look at each other with wide intriguing eyes.

"Sorry, can you hang in there for a second…ok thanks..." Jeff talking to the person on the phone before looking at Britta and Shirley.

"Can you guys stop looking at me like that, if you don't mind, I need to take this call," Jeff tells Britta and Shirley. The two women give each other a smirk and walk behind a small booth, far enough to overhear the conversation.

"Oh, my goodness! I haven't been in the gossiping game in forever" Shirley claps her hands happily. She misses moments like these during her first year.

"Shhhh…I want to hear what he's saying," Britta says raising her pointer finger to her lips. Shirley nods, leaning over Britta's shoulders in an attempt to hear Jeff.

"Mhm… wait how did they know …oh okay…yeah I think so too…soon…okay perfect…miss you too... love you…bye" as Jeff ends the call with a fond smile. Britta and Shirley are open-mouthed at the situation. They had no clue who it was. For all they knew, it could've been his mom, but that did not prevent them from wondering. Right now, they had other important matters to attend to. They could investigate this later. With that plan in mind, the two women decide to join up with Jeff and begin shopping.

~.~

The trio had a lot of gift ideas, some of them being a purple pen, a signed Jane Austen book and Shirley's lingerie idea. The lingerie idea had caused Jeff to choke, and Britta's immediate refusal of the idea. She claimed that lingerie made women look sexy for the benefit of men.

They debated for half an hour before deciding to split up to manage time. After a few hours, Shirley and Britta managed to get their gifts. Shirley with her 'try Jesus, not me, because I throw hands' T-shirt and Britta with her stuffed bear. Jeff, wouldn't let her get a card because it was apparently 'two easy.'

Wait, since when did Jeff avoid the easy way out? That's weird. Britta thought.

The two women were walking with Jeff into a pen boutique, helping him look for his gift. Walking through the front door, a middle-aged woman comes up to the group.

"Welcome to Montblanc. I'm Kate. How can I help you?" the middle age saleswoman greets Jeff, completely ignoring Shirley and Britta. She immediately eyes Jeff up and down, licking her lips and twirling her shiny blonde hair.

Could this woman be any more obvious?

Shirley, on the other hand, was praying for Kate.

"Yeah, do you guys have this Montblanc fountain pen?" Jeff asks the saleswoman, handing her his phone. It displayed a picture of a black fountain pen with gold accents and engravings.

Weird, how did he not notice the look in her eyes. She practically wants to climb him like a tree.

"Yes, we should have some in stock. Let me get it." The saleswoman winks at Jeff as she walks away, grazing her hand over his. Jeff pulls his hand away quickly, causing Kate to frown.

After a couple of minutes, the blonde woman shows up again with a purple wrapped box with a violet bow on top. Jeff smiles as he sees the box. He hands the saleswoman his card to buy the pen. While processing the purchase, Kate writes her number on a separate piece of paper and hands it along with the receipt. Jeff gives her a nod and a smile before leaving and walks out of the boutique.

Once the trio gets out of the store, Jeff throws away the paper containing the number.

Alright, what the hell was that?

"Jeff! What the hell was that? There was a gorgeous woman back there practically seducing you, and you barely paid attention to her!" Britta asks indignantly. What happened to Jeff "Ladies Man" Winger?

"She has a point, Jeffery," Shirley adds, holding onto her purse looking between the two.

"Britta, I don't know what you mean. What made you think she was flirting?" Jeff asks, curious of Britta's reaction. Britta's and Shirley's mouths drop open as they register in their minds that Jeff was clueless about the saleswoman's seduction attempts.

"Ugh, never mind" Britta lets the topic go with a huff. Walking away, she takes Shirley by the hand, so the two women are walking side-by-side. Once the women are at a distance from Jeff, Britta turns her head and leans whisper, "Shirls, we should investigate and figure out who Jeff's mystery lady is." Shirley nods vigorously, happy to be go undercover again.

"Brit-ta, I think that boy is in love."

~.~

After the day at the mall, Britta and Shirley had spent the whole day keeping an eye on Jeff. Jeff had spent most of his time either with the group, but sometimes they would catch him smiling at his phone. Another time, they were at the Morty's Steakhouse, dressed up in trench coats, glasses, a newspaper, and a camera. The goal was to intercept Jeff and his secret girlfriend, but they were seated too far away. All they could see was Jeff sitting alone with what an appletini. A few moments later, a short figure emerged. Before Britta and Shirley could capture a picture, the restaurant staff kicked them out.

It was two days since the incident. Both Britta and Shirley mutually agreed to take a break since the surprise party was today. Jeff had informed her that the party was ready to go. Now it was Britta's turn to execute her part of the plan. After walking up a series of stairs, she finally arrived at the door of apartment 303 and started knocking.

Hearing footsteps slowly coming door, the door opens revealing Annie in her pajamas.

"Britta! what are you doing here...with that outfit?" Annie asks, looking at her friend's red dress. There were countless times Britta showed up, unannounced with a high.

"Annie, I could say the same about the pajamas," Britta says, pointing at Annie's outfit. "It's your birthday! We should go out, dance, sing, and get wasted," Britta says, encouraging her best friend.

"I'm home alone tonight since my boyfriend is busy. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a girl's night out," Annie replies sadly, slowly heading back to her room.

"Lighten up little, and since when did you have a boyfriend," Britta asks curiously. Does everybody have a secret boyfriend and girlfriend? With that thought, she wonders if Troy has one too. She quickly shakes that thought away. It was not the right time.

"Oh, I didn't tell you? Today is our six-month anniversary! We wanted to know if our relationship would work before telling the group. It's been going so well we keep blowing it off," Annie replies from her room. From the sound of her voice, Britta could tell she was smiling.

"Wow, I'm happy for you. When will we get to meet this special guy?" Britta genuinely asks.

"We plan on letting the group know soon, but we can discuss that later. You ready to go?" Annie asks, walking out in a black open-back dress, paired with red high heels and a fur coat.

"Woah, where the hell were you hiding this?" Britta says, speechless with Annie's outfit. "You know what, we'll discuss this later, let's go before we miss our reservation." The two women lock the door and begin their trek to the karaoke place.

~.~

While Annie and Britta are driving to the restaurant, The rest of the study group were putting the final touches on the party. They also had most of Greendale helping them out tonight including the Dean, Fat Neil, Vicky, and Todd.

"Alright there we go," Jeff says to himself as he adjusts the 'Happy Birthday Annie!' Banner. The group had spent all night working it, find the fluffy paint alone was time-consuming. The things he would do for Annie. Shaking his head with a small smile, Jeff decides to check on everybody else.

"Alright is everyone ready, they should arrive in…holy shit ten minutes, okay how's everything looking people?!" jeff calls out with cupped hands.

Abed and Troy do their signature handshake, while everyone else nods in agreement. Jeff couldn't lie, the placed look amazing. There were booths to seat everyone, plenty of food, music, and a bar with every drink imaginable.

Satisfied with their preparation, Jeff pulls his study group aside.

"Hey I wanted to say thank you guys for helping me with this party, I'm not very good with this stuff so I appreciate it" Jeff genuinely says.

"It wasn't just us Jeff, you did great too, this is a big progress for your character arc, I can sense something big happening" Abed pats Jeff on the back, which causes Jeff to smile a bit. Despite Abed's constant movie comparisons, he always understood him.

"Yeah, what abed said, and plus I can't wait to start this party because…" Troy trails off as his lips tremble, "I can't hold in these secrets anymore! They're eating me alive Jeff! They're eating me alive!"

"He's not lying Jeff, the other day he told Annie he had an appointment for butt stuff problems but in reality, all we had to do was grab paper plates and solo cups. He's been walking with a fake limp since" abed answers, comforting his best friend.

"Wow, that's a lot to take in" Jeff replies, shaking his head, he loved his friends, but the weirdness can be a little too much sometimes. Jeff sees Shirley and sees his chance to change the topic.

"Shirley, you seem excited" Jeff decided to ask his former foosball nemesis. He was in need of a topic change.

"Of course! An-nie is going to love this, Jeffery!" Shirley replies with a small bounce, clapping her hands.

"I really hope so…" Jeff pausing to check his phone, his eyes go wide noticing a recent text from Britta, "Oh shit! Guys, they're about to walk through the door HIDE!" Jeff yells to everyone inside the karaoke place. Everyone begins to scatter, hiding behind anything they could find.

~.~

"Britta, I don't know how I feel about karaoke," Annie says nervously as she notices the big karaoke sign.

"Loosey Goosey, Loosey Goosey," Annie says, shaking her shoulders.

"Annie, loosen up, we don't have to sing, we can just drink, dance, and plus I heard the food's good" Britta briefly comforting her best friend, Britta opens the door to the venue letting Annie walk in first.

"SURPRISE!" everyone jumps out from their hiding spot, Annie, open-mouthed at the display in front of her, scans the room. She notices Britta, Jeff, Abed, Troy, and Shirley all grouped up together with party hats of her face on it.

"Guys…I don't know what to say…" Annie begins to say but her lips tremble because sometimes she forgets how much love her friends have for her.

She sprints to the group and gives them the biggest bearhug, crying tears of joy.

After the group hug, the study group begins the party singing duets. Annie and Jeff singing George Michael's Careless Whisper, Troy and Abed with Nelly's Dilemma, Britta and Shirley's I'm Too Sexy and last but not least, the deans Kiss From A Rose.

After a long session of dancing, singing, and eating, the group decides to take a break for gifts. Annie opens Britta's and Shirley's first, giving them each a hug, Britta for her teddy bear and Shirley for her hilarious religious shirt. Abed and Troy had decided to make Annie homemade coupons so Annie could cash them in. Looking at the final person at the booth, her heart flutters when she sees Jeff thrust an expensive ornate-looking box at her.

"Annie before you say anything, just open the box" Jeff encourages her with a smile.

Annie opens the box, and what lays inside the box leaves her speechless and teary-eyed. In the box, a note lies delicately on top of a Montblanc fountain pen. Annie begins to read it, her world slowly going out of focus. Everything but her and Jeff. "Happy six-month anniversary, love. My love for you grows fonder every day, and I hope this pen can be another daily reminder of how much you mean to me, here to more memories together."

Annie wipes a tear from her cheek and runs over to Jeff, practically jumping in his lapping and hugging him tight around his neck. She giving him a breathless but loving kiss. Coming back to reality, Annie and Jeff notice their friends narrowing their eyes (minus Abed). Their reaction was justified, especially after Frenching Jeff.

"Okay, this explains your weird behavior Jeff," Britta says. She still can't believe it. It all makes sense now, the long looks and stolen glances, the texting.

"Surprise?" Jeff says, trying to loosen the tension. Jeff and Annie attempt to give the group their version of the doe eyes, which causes Annie to giggle. Even though they just got caught, they are still in sync, and she loves it.

~.~

"Ugh, guys, where's the help!?" Britta asks her study group. The majority of them, minus Abed, take a deep breath. Shirley speaks up first, then Abed and Troy.

"Brit-ta, I'm mad at them for hiding their relationship too, but they're so in love! At first, I was reluctant because of the age difference and Jeff's unholy behaviors. But after seeing Annie's influence on Jeff, my opinion has changed," Shirley says, looking at Jeff and Annie, then back at Britta.

"Troy and I give you our blessing, not that it matters if we don't. Getting back to the point, we haven't seen Annie this happy in a long time, so whatever makes her happy, we're here for it, plus the Jeff/Annie shippers are going to love this." With that, Troy and Abed give her a bright smile.

"Ugh, fine, you guys have a point, but this doesn't mean you get to be all lovey-dovey," Britta warns, crossing her arms and looking up at the ceiling.

"Aww, thank you, Britta! Everyone bring it in!" Annie says gleefully urging everyone for a group hug. She and Jeff wrap their arms around the group and sigh happily before letting go.

When they pull apart, the group sits back down. After everyone is seated, Shirley speaks up.

"Jeffery, the group is happy for you, but if you hurt our Annie, you will face the wrath of the lord and Big Cheddar," Shirley warns with a firm look, causing jeff to shiver with fear. Shirley then turns to Annie, "and you, the group is happy for you too, but if you hurt our Jeffery, Britta and I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth."

Britta nods in agreeance, staring at the couple with a cold.

Annie also shivers but turns her head towards Jeff with a smile. "We have nothing to worry about," Annie says. The couple leans in for a quick kiss. They pull apart a few moments later leaning their foreheads together.

~.~

"I think I got something in my eyes…" Troy begins to sob, but luckily abed is there with tissues, patting his back.

"Shit. I don't know why, but me too" Britta says, wiping her eyes quickly. This never happens. Someone must've spiked her drink, maybe the onion rings, or probably because of the amount of vodka she's consumed.

"Aww, that's nice!" Shirley says clapping her hands, excited to see Jeff so in love with Annie, it was a sight to see. While the study group was getting used to the new couple, Jeff and Annie were in their own little world.

"One more song to end off the night?" Jeff asks his girlfriend with a loving but boyish smile. She nods, looking up at Jeff through her eyelashes. The pair walk up the stage where everybody is cheering and looked into each other's eyes.

"Milady?"

"Milord"
