The battle against the True Magic Coven had taken an unexpected turn for the worse when Paxton activated a spell that turned himself and his minions into giant monsters, and Eda, Luz, Amity, and Hunter were all looking around at the group of monsters.

"This is bad", Luz said, "this is really, really, really bad."

"I'll say", Amity said, "we've never found ourselves in a scenario like this, not even in the war."

The monster that Paxton had transformed into let out another loud roar, and the other monsters heard it and began their rampage.

"We gotta do something about those monsters before they do any serious damage", Eda said.

"You're right", Luz said, "there's no telling what they'll do to the Isles."

Amity made a spell circle to cast a spell, and a large barrier cage appeared around the surrounding area, preventing the monsters from leaving.

"Whew", Amity said, "that's got to be the biggest cage I've ever summoned."

"Nice work, Amity", Luz said, "now the monsters can't go anywhere."

"But there's no way to say how long it'll hold them", Eda said, "we need to do something about these things now!"

"Got it", Luz and Amity said.

The two girlfriends got on their staffs and flew away, and Hunter looked at the monster that had once been his father, still feeling upset about everything that had happened.

"I can't believe I actually thought Dad truly loved me", Hunter said, "I guess it serves me right for not listening to Eda and the girls."

The monsters were trying to find a way to get through the cage, and up in the air, Luz and Amity noticed what they were doing.

"That doesn't look good", Luz said, "the monsters are trying to find a way out."

"We can't let that happen", Amity said, "come on, we need to do something."

"On it", Luz said.

The two of them flew down towards the monsters, and Amity summoned a large amount of abomination clay that fell on top of one of the monsters, then made a spell circle that made the clay harder.

"There", Amity said, "I sure hope that keeps it down."

But it didn't hold, and seconds later, the monster burst out of it.

"Oh no", Amity said.

Luz was also trying her own method to stop the monsters, which was flying around one like a bug.

"Hey, ugly", Luz said, "I'm over here!"

The monster swung its claws at her, but she managed to avoid it.

"Missed me", Luz said, "now I'm over here!"

The monster swung at her again, but it still missed.

"Try again", Luz said.

The monster continued to try and attack Luz, growing more and more frustrated with each missed attempt, and as Luz flew around, she cast a plant spell and summoned a vine up from the ground that she grabbed and began wrapping around its legs, and pretty soon, the monster fell to the ground.

"At last", Luz said, "now to figure out my next move before he breaks free."

Right after she said that, the monster broke free from the vine and stood back up, letting out a loud roar.

"Too late", Luz said.

The monster, who was still angry with Luz, began running towards her, prompting her to wisely fly away on her staff, and she soon met up with Amity.

"These things are indestructible", Luz said, "there's no way we can bring them down."

"We have to keep trying, or else the Boiling Isles are doomed", Amity said.

"Okay", Luz said, "I'll keep going."

The two girls flew back towards the monsters to resume their fight against them, and meanwhile, the Paxton Monster was trying to climb over the barrier cage, when it heard a familiar voice call out to it.

"Hey, asshole", Eda shouted.

The Paxton Monster turned its head and saw Eda standing on the ground near it.

"That's right", Eda said, "I'm talking to you."

Even though the Paxton Monster was a different identity than Paxton, it still somehow felt a strong sense of hatred towards Eda, and began crawling towards her, growling as it got closer and closer.

"I knew you were a jerkass, but this is a whole new level of being one", Eda said.

The Paxton Monster didn't like what Eda was saying.

"You got so mad about losing to us that you basically committed suicide so you and your cronies can destroy the Boiling Isles, which you were trying to change in the first place", Eda said, "talk about a sore loser."

The Paxton Monster was growing madder and madder with Eda's words.

"You left your son to die just because he was powerless, you abandoned me just because I was cursed, and now you've turned yourself and your cronies into monsters just because you lost", Eda said, "you're a bastard who does things out of anger or hate whenever you feel like something goes wrong, and for that reason, I'm glad we're not married anymore, you psychopath."

The Paxton Monster raised its claw up and brought it down towards Eda, but she managed to teleport out of the way and appeared next to it.

"Where was I", Eda asked, "ah, that's right."

Eda reached into her hair and pulled out a small glass container that hat an orange potion on it.

"Try some of my potion", Eda said.

Eda threw the container at the Paxton Monster's face, and it exploded upon impact, revealing it to be an explosive potion.

"Tastes good, don't it", Eda asked.

She threw another explosive potion at the monster and ran away, prompting the monster to go after her, but before it could reach Eda, she cast an earth spell and made pillars of earth rise up from the ground and hit the Paxton Monster, causing it to fall on its side, then she ran towards it with her staff, ready to attack it once again, but it managed to swing its tail and ended up hitting her, resulting in Eda flying back into the wall of the Owl House, and once the Paxton Monster got back on its feet, it began walking towards her to try and finish her off.

"Oh, great", Eda said, "looks like it's the end for me."

But it wasn't it, for as the Paxton Monster got closer to Eda, a vine wrapped itself around her leg and pulled her out of the way, and Eda saw that the one who saved her was Hunter, who had used a plant glyph.

"You okay", Hunter asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine", Eda said, "thanks for the save."

"No problem", Hunter said.

Hunter helped Eda back up, and the re-united mother and son looked each other in the eyes, happier than ever to finally have each other back after so many years, but the moment was interrupted by the Paxton Monster roaring, and the two of them looked and noticed it moving towards them.

"Uh-oh", Hunter said.

"We need to move, now", Eda said.

Eda and Hunter got on their staffs and took off, then passed by Amity and Luz, who were still trying to defeat the monsters, but they weren't having any luck.

"Come on, girls", Eda said.

Luz and Amity followed Eda and Hunter on their staffs, and the quartet flew outside the barrier cage and landed on the ground.

"What are we going to do", Amity asked, "nothing we've tried is working on these things."

They then heard the monsters roar and noticed them breaking through the cage.

"And it looks like your barrier cage isn't going to hold", Hunter said.

"Come on guys, think", Eda said, "there has to be a way to defeat these monsters."

The group thought hard about what to do, when Luz suddenly thought of something.

"These monsters are just like the one we fought at school", Luz said, "maybe we could take what we learned there and use it to defeat these monsters."

"That's not going to help us much", Amity said, "what we learned from that battle is that these things are impossible to bring down, and we've just been reminded of that here in this battle."

"She's right", Hunter said, "the monster didn't stop until Dad stopped it and..."

It was then that Hunter realized something.

"Hold on just a minute", Hunter said.

Hunter remembered that the monster at Hexside's body had dissolved away, leaving the body of the dead student in its place, which was the result of Paxton ending the transformation, and when he remembered that it was Paxton who transformed both his minions and himself into giant monsters, he managed to come up with an idea for how to defeat them.

"I've got it", Hunter said, "I know what we need to do!"

"What is it", Luz asked.

"We need to defeat the alpha", Hunter said.

"What does that mean", Eda asked.

"We need to kill the monster that Dad turned into", Hunter said, "if we do that, it'll get rid of the other monsters too."

"How are you sure that'll work", Amity asked.

"Dad's the one who turned all of them into monsters in the first place", Hunter said, "if he's dead, then that should make the others go away."

"It sounds like something that could work", Eda said, "but are you absolutely sure about it?"

"It's out best shot right now", Hunter said, "we have to try it."

Eda knew that her son was right, so she decided to put her faith in his plan.

"Okay", Eda said, "let's do it."

It was then that the monsters finally broke through the barrier cage, causing it to disappear.

"We better hurry", Luz said, "they got out of the cage!"

"You guys wear down the one that's Dad", Hunter said.

"What are you going to do", Amity asked.

"I need to get some things ready to help defeat it", Hunter said.

"What kind of things", Luz asked.

"You'll find out", Hunter said, "now go!"

Hunter fled the scene, and Luz, Amity, and Eda looked up at the Paxton Monster, who was standing right before them.

"Oh well", Luz said, "here goes nothing."

Luz made a spell circle and summoned a large ball of light that made the Paxton Monster shield its eyes.

"Okay, guys", Luz said, "give it everything you've got!"

Eda threw some explosive potions while Luz cast an ice spell to make the floor icy, which caused the Paxton Monster to slip and fall on the ground, and then Amity summoned some abomination clay that made its feet stick to the ground, preventing it from getting up.

"Alright", Luz said, "time to give this thing some hell!"

The three of them fired every powerful spell they could think of at the Paxton Monster, and they managed to hit it, but the pain from the spells made it even more mad, and it eventually broke free of its abomination clay bonds and let out a loud roar.

"Oh, he's pissed now", Eda said.

Then, Hunter ran back over to the group.

"There you are", Luz said.

"I don't know what it is you're going to do", Amity said, "but whatever it is, you better do it quick."

"Don't worry, I'm all over it", Hunter said, "there's just one more thing I need to do."

Hunter handed Luz his staff.

"When I give you the signal, I need you to tap my staff on the ground", Hunter said, "can you do that, Luz?"

"Sure I can", Luz said.

"Great", Hunter said, "well, wish me luck."

Hunter ran over to the Paxton Monster and whistles to get its attention and it turned to face him.

"Hey Dad, over here", Hunter said, "I'm a weak, powerless witch all ripe for the taking!"

The Paxton Monster lunged forward to catch Hunter in its mouth, but Hunter jumped out of the way and grabbed on to one of its horns, then was lifted up into the air.

"I'm sorry to have to do this, but you leave me no choice", Hunter said, "this is for the Isles."

Hunter crawled around the Paxton Monster's face, then ran across its back, where it tried to get rid of him, but to no avail, and at last, he jumped down and got ready to make his next move, but the Paxton Monster swiped its claws at him and sending him flying into a tree, also creating large claw marks on his body.

"Damn, this thing is tough", Hunter said.

He looked up and saw the Paxton Monster nearby.

"But I can't give up", Hunter said, "not now."

He got up, threw a rock at it to get its attention, and began to run away.

"Hey, beast", Hunter said, "follow me!"

The Paxton Monster began to give chase, and the others watched the scene unfold.

"I sure hope Hunter knows what he's doing", Luz said.

"Me too" Eda said, "I couldn't bear it if I lost my son again."

Hunter continued to run as fast as he could, despite the wounds that had been inflicted upon him, and he looked back to find the Paxton Monster hot on his trail.

"I'm almost there", Hunter said, "just a little further."

After more running, Hunter stopped in the spot he was trying to reach.

"Finally", Hunter said, "I made it."

Then, he heard the Paxton Monster roar.

"And not a moment too soon", Hunter said.

The Paxton Monster finally reached Hunter, and began to slowly approach him, getting ready to finish him off, and Hunter decided to make one last move on him.

"Dad", Hunter said, "I know you're in there."

The Paxton Monster continued to look at Hunter, still growling, and Eda and the girls hurried over and saw what was happening.

"Dad, listen to me", Hunter said, "you don't have to do this."

The Paxton Monster stopped growling.

"I understand that you didn't want me as your son because I was powerless, but what about when we were reunited", Hunter asked, "what about how much fun we had when we met again after all those years?"

A look of calmness appeared on the Paxton's Monster's face.

"I had so much fun with you during that time, and I couldn't have been happier to have finally found my father", Hunter said, "and even though you did all that stuff to me, I'm still willing to give you another chance to be my father."

He then began walking up to the Paxton Monster, much to the surprise of the others.

"What the hell is he doing", Luz asked.

"What do you say", Hunter asked, "can we start over?"

The Paxton Monster looked down at Hunter, and the latter smiled as he thought he had managed to get through to his father, but his expression soon turned to one of shock, as he felt a very sharp pain in chest, and Luz, Amity, and Eda all looked on in horror.

"No", Eda shouted.

The Paxton Monster had used the sharp tip on its tail to impale Hunter right through the chest, and as it removed it, Hunter fell to the ground, and Luz quickly used a spell to bring Hunter over to them.

"Hunter, are you okay", Luz said.

"Come on kid, stay with me", Eda said.

Hunter groaned in pain and turned to Luz.

"Luz", Hunter said, "do it now."

Luz remembered what Hunter had asked her to do and tapped his staff on the ground, and it activated a light glyph that Hunter had put on the Paxton Monster's nose and created a large light ball, which got into its eyes and made it walk backwards onto a pair of plant glyphs drawn in the dirt, which caused some vines to grow up and wrap around its legs, which resulted in it falling onto the ground, and upon hitting it, it activated an ice glyph, which made a large spike of ice grow up from the ground and pierce right through it, causing it to roar out in pain before finally dying.

"Did you see that", Luz asked.

"I did", Amity said, "the monster's finally dead."

Then, they heard the sound of the other monsters roaring.

"And it sounds like Hunter's theory was right", Luz said.

Nearby, the other monsters who were once Paxton's minions were dissolving away, leaving behind the dead bodies of members of the True Magic Coven, and back with Eda and the kids, the ice spike from the ground went away and the Paxton Monster dissolved as well, leaving behind Paxton's mutilated corpse.

"And there goes Dad", Amity said, "he's finally gone."

"Good riddance", Eda said.

They then heard Hunter groan, and remembered that he had been fatally wounded by the Paxton Monster.

"Oh no", Eda said, "Hunter!"

Eda went over to Hunter and looked into his barely open eyes.

"Hunter, listen to me", Eda said, "whatever you do, don't close your eyes."

Hunter groaned in pain again as he held on to the spot where the Paxton Monster had wounded him, and Eda became more and more concerned.

"Please Hunter, you have to stay awake", Eda said, "please!"

Hunter looked up at Eda, and a smile appeared on his face.

"At least I managed to find you", Hunter said, "Mom."

Then, both of his eyes closed, much to Eda's worry and fear.

"Hunter", Eda asked.

He didn't reply.

"Hunter, wake up", Eda said.

He still didn't wake up.

"Son, please, wake up", Eda said.

But try as she might, Hunter wouldn't wake up.

"No, not now", Eda said, "I just got him back."

Luz and Amity watched with sadness as Eda tried to wake Hunter up, but nothing worked, and finally, she picked him up and hugged him, tears flowing down her face.

"Hunter", Eda said.
