Summary:
Kanbara Takuya has some "stupid" fifth-grade advice for his sixth-grade companion.
"S-stupid! What grade are you in?"
"Fifth grade."
"Oh. Well, I'm in sixth grade!"
"So what?"
What a cocky kid. A grade below him, and Takuya thought he knew how Junpei felt about Izumi! No matter how true it was Junpei was smitten with her, the sheer smugness of Takuya making fun of him for something he had no experience in sent fire through Junpei's blood!
As if Takuya could understand mature subjects! It might seem small, but the one year made all the difference.
Junpei stomped on ahead, Izumi and Tomoki far in front of them on the trail, and Bokomon and Neemon far behind. For a few heated seconds, Junpei had a wide bit of space to be mad on his own, but that space dwindled once Takuya caught back up with him.
Junpei was still fuming. He didn't notice.
"Humph! What does Takuya know about crushes?"
"You'd be surprised."
"T-Takuya? When did you –?" Yes, Junpei was surprised.
Izumi and Tomoki were talking, and Bokomon and Neemon were fighting. Neither group of two was paying any attention to the third.
"If you like her, just say so. It really isn't that complicated."
"Stupid!" Junpei repeated. "What is that? Your fifth-grade logic?"
"Logic? It's as easy as saying I like you! Oh, I like you, by the way."
"W-what?" Junpei's face became red again.
"You gonna call me stupid again? You're saying that a lot today."
"S-s-DUMBASS! I like Izumi-chan!"
"Bravo, Junpei. The first step is admitting it." Takuya patted his shoulder, then reopened the space between them.
Was Takuya joking to make a point?
The grin Takuya had on his face, Junpei honestly couldn't decode.
"Stupid fifth-grade logic!"
