Hi everyone, I know it's been quite a bit and I'm absolutely sorry about that. I haven't had any good ideas to keep writing and I was busy with everything else. My left eye was almost blind so words were pretty blurry, but I was put on medication and it's starting to improve quite a bit, I'm also wearing glasses almost 24/7 now. Which means it's time to get back into it. This will be a Pokemon fic, I know, I used it too much in the past and never followed through. Hopefully, I can with this one. I'm not going to give you full detail of how this goes, but in this story, Ash will understand Pokemon like he understands people. There will be no relationships in this story so I won't create a love story. Maybe if I actually got through with this series I might, but it's a huge maybe. This story starts out with Ash Ketchum starting out his pokemon journey just like in the tv show, but something turns out differently.
HUMAN SPEAKING
POKEMON SPEAKING
CHAPTER ONE
Ash grunted as he pulled Pikachu along through route one and sighed. He spotted a rock next to a tree straight across the field from him and decided to drag his starter there and sat down. He looked at Pikachu sadly when it continued to ignore him. "You're never going to trust me are you Pikachu?" He asked him and his starter glared at him and ran up to the top of the tree and yawned. "I can understand Pokemon, the only person that knows is my mom, so you can tell me why you can't trust me." Ash pleaded with the electric type. Pikachus continued to scratch at his ears when he was listening to the human boy. "You humans think you know everything, but what you do with that knowledge, you end up using it to destroy. So, no, I don't want to be your Pokemon." Pikachu said loudly causing Ash to frown. He sat down in a glump mood, trying to figure out what he could do to appease Pikachu.
Ash looked up when he heard chirping and saw that it was a Pidgey sticking its head out of the grass with a coo. He looked back to Pikachu and sighed, depressed all over again. The Pidgey saw him, sad and all, and Pikachu ignored him and became curious. She decided to see if the trainer was friendly and walked up to him. "Hello." She said softly and Ash looked up from the ground and looked at Pidgey in surprise. "Hi there, Pidgey, my name is Ash." He said with a small smile. She gave her version of a grin and flew onto his shoulder. "Can you understand me?" She asked him. Ash nodded. "Yeah, besides Pikachu, only my mom knows I can understand Pokemon. but for some reason, I was stuck with Pikachu as a starter who hates humans. I have no clue what to do with him now." He said and tickled her chin a bit. Pidgey enjoyed the chin scratch and glared at the Pikachu up in the tree. "Why do you hate this human? He's been nothing but nice." She exclaimed.
Pikachu rolled his eyes at her and scoffed. "I don't need to explain myself to you." He said with a warning spark. Just then a loud screech filled the air and one human and two Pokemon turned to look to see a furious Spearow glaring at them furiously. "Guess Pikachu's sparking must have accidentally hit that Spearow." The female Pidgey said with a gulp and Ash nodded and looked down at her. "So should we escape while we're ahead of ourselves?" Ash asked her and she instantly nodded and turned to the Pikachu. "Well?" She asked the electric type. The Pikachu looked at the furious bird and for a minute Pidgey thought she must have thought he was smirking. He quickly made his way to stand next to Ash and faced the Spearow. "Take this human and birds!" He shouted as sparks started flying in almost every direction. Ash noticed it was about to hit the Pidgey and he knew she would have been severely injured so he decided to do something stupid when her eyes had widen with fear.
He shoved her out of the way and tossed an empty Pokeball to suck her in. It hardly shook at all singling to Ash that it was a success when electricity started frying through his entire body. He could also hear the Spearow screaming in pain as well and he shakily threw another ball to protect the bird, once he heard the ding of the ball and Pikachu still not letting up his attack, Ash closed his eyes and let the darkness claim him. Pikachu looked at the human with warry eyes and he was also confused as to why he would protect those weaklings in the first place when he had just met them but instead, he scoffed and decided to get a headstart on running in case that Spearows flock decided to appear from it screaming and disappeared into the bushes.
SOMETIMES LATER:
One of Ash's Pokeballs shook and what appeared was the female Pidgey Ash had saved. She looked around in confusion and relief but then, horror-filled her entire body when she spotted the human speaker that saved her life. She looked at the Pokeball next to her's and she dedicated that Ash must have saved the Spearow from getting hurt too and she went ahead and pressed the button in the middle and watched worriedly. The Spearow huffed in pain from that thundershock. He looked around to see what saved him and spotted a female Pidgey in front of him. "What happened?" He asked her. "This human is hurt pretty bad because he wanted to protect from that Pikachu. A rat that was supposed to be his starter and partner in almost everything. Instead of protecting him, he hurt him." The Pidgey said sadly to his shock. He turned to look at the human with respect but once he spotted the injuries he winced. "We need to get him help. If he doesn't get it soon, those injuries will kill him in time." He said hurriedly and the Pidgey instantly nodded. "Stay here, you were shocked by that rat as well, keep an eye on him and make sure nothing hurts him any further while I go for help." She ordered the male bird and took off flying.
She flew as high as she could for a few miles, but no humans that could help her. She activated her Keen Eyed ability and she breathed a sigh of relief. From the looks of it, that human must have come from that human town when he started his journey so she decided to make her way there. She looked around at the weird-looking buildings but couldn't find anyone that could resemble a doctor until she spotted a bigger building with a large field attached to it. She spotted what seemed to be a large Rapidash and hurriedly flew her way to the fire type. Huffing when she landed on a nearby tree branch so the horse could see her, she gained its attention when she spoke. "Please, do you know of anyone who could me and my friends? One of them is very badly injured." She explained when it, he, looked up in concern. "I do a small one, is it a Pokemon that needs help?" He asked her gently and neighed. She shook her head. "No, it's a human speaker! His starter pokemon, a Pikachu injured him very badly when the attack was aimed at me and a Spearow. If he doesn't receive help soon, his injuries could kill him!" The Rapidash had a very alarming but furious expression on his face and he stomped his hooves angrily.
"Follow me and we'll get the human caretaker quickly." He said to her relief. "Thank you so much." She said and followed him as he started running to that big building she saw and saw a human with grey hair and a white lab coat.
Professor Oak was just in the middle of getting some Pokemon fed when he spotted a very fast Rapidash and what looked to be a Pidgey following it and he looked on with confusion and shook his head. "I must be getting old." He muttered to himself. But instead, the Rapidash came to a full stop and neighed at him frantically. The Pidgey flapped its wings at him as well and pointed the back on the Rapidash. "You need to take me somewhere?" He asked them and both Pokemon nodded. "Are they injured?" His question caused the Pidgey to give a rather loud heartbreaking screech and stubbornly pointed at the Rapidash's back. He raised his hands in surrender. "Alright alright, I'm coming." He said grabbing a first aid kit and some berries and potions and climbing his way on the Rapidash and he looked at his aids that came out during the commotion. He looked at them seriously. "Continue watching the place until I get back. No slacking," he said sternly and that's when the Rapidash took off in a fast run, following after the Pidgey.
It took some time but with the Rapidash being a really good runner, it took them at least a mile or so to get to where the Pidgey needed him to be. What he saw stunned him and broke his heart. Ash was burnt to a crisp and blood slowly flowed out from the burns that had burst open. It also looked as though he was electrocuted into a crisp. He knelt next to the boy and the Pidegy landed next to him with worried eyes. He also noticed a Spearow nearby watching with concern and guessed that Ash had caught the two bird Pokemon when he was attacked. He instantly went to work on trying to stop the bleeding and used a blueberry paste to help soothe the cuts and other injuries on his body. It took an hour but he managed to get Ash stabilized enough to move him back to his lab and he gently heaved the boy on his back and bent down to help the Spearow. The bird cawed and looked at him with suspicion. "I only wish to help Spearow, I can't do anything to you and Pidgey since you were caught by this young man so you're completely safe." He reassured and sighed with relief when the bird relaxed and hobbled into his hands. He climbed back onto the Rapidash and wrapped his arms around Ash's waist and the Spearow held in his right arm and the fire-type took off.
The professor's aids had just finished feeding all of the Pokemon when Professor Oak pulled up on Rapidash and they all were shocked at the injured child in his arms.
THE NEXT DAY
Beep, beep, beep, beep was all Ash could hear as he started to wake up and grimaced in pain from the burns on his body. He looked around a bit to check his surroundings and spotted Professor Oak working on some paperwork, he struggled to sit up. "P..professor?" He asked him causing the man to jump in surprise and the man turned with wide eyes. He immediately made his way to his bedside. "Woah, easy Ash, you don't need to get up so quickly. You were badly injured from that attack." He explained to him and Ash relaxed a bit back into his pillow. "Where's Pidgey and Spearow?" He asked him quietly. Professor Oak gave him a grim smile."Those two pokemon absolutely refused to leave you alone so I made them get some fresh air outside. Spearow only had a minor injury, probably because you saved him. Do you want to tell me what happened?" He asked him.
Ash turned to see if there was a window but there wasn't so he turned his attention to the ceiling. "It was Pikachu. He hated humans so much, that even when he realized I was the one he was shocking, he never let up until I blacked out, but not before catching the two birds for their safety. I have no clue where he went, sir." Ash said in a quiet demeanor. Samuel Oak leaned back into his chair with a deep sigh. "I knew I should've never given you that Pikachu, but I honestly never expected he would ever do that. I have to say that I'm sorry Ash, if you want, I can help you replace him with a different starter but all we have are eggs." He told him. Ash looked at the man quietly.
"Let Pidgey be my starter, I wouldn't mind an egg replacing that Pikachu. " He answered him and Samuel nodded. "Alright then. Well, I'll call your mother to let her know you woke up and explain the situation, you just continue getting some rest, Ash. I'll call in Pidgey and Spearow while I'm out there." He told and Ash nodded.
The ceiling continued to look the same, but in Ash's mind, it helped gather his thoughts and he knew. If he were to see that Pikachu again and he was still the same. Ash knew he would destroy whatever dignity that rat would ever have.
Well, there you go everyone, the first chapter. There are not too many fics where Pikachu abandoned Ash and it gets kind of on the stale side. But here is the current team we'll be working with.
Ash's Team:
Female Pidgey(Starter)
Male Spearow(Secondary)
Future egg?
Be sure to comment in the reviews on what egg you think Ash should hatch into. I'm not sure if it's going to be turned into a voting poll but I'd love some options.
