A/N: I'm so sorry, I've been incredibly exhausted and haven't had much time for writing lately, I usually try and write in any down time I get but that's become less frequent :(

I wrote this because I wanted to write something fun for the twins and I wanted to write something that had more Asmo in it too, and I ended up with this

I'm not sure when I'll be able to write and upload frequently again as I'm getting cosplays ready for MCM London Comic Con and having to make time for other commitments between working and training, but hopefully I should be as long in posting this time

I'm sorry in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes, I'll try my best to revisit this work at a later date to correct any mistakes

I hope you all enjoy this Fic!
Stay safe!

A Spell From The Human World

Asmo froze midway through pushing back the cuticles on Belphie's nails.

"Do you wanna run that one by me again, hm?" Asmo asked, he slowly relinquished Belphie's hand, sat back in his chair and regarded his younger brother with a curious expression.

"I said that I want to make something for Beel." Belphie frowned with a small sigh. "Why are you looking at me like it's such a weird thing to say?"

"It's not that it's a weird thing to say," Asmo gave an amused chuckle as he leant forwards in his seat once more with the cuticle stick poised in his hand as he closely inspected Belphie's fingernails again, "I just didn't expect it from you. Although, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, you twins are close after all. So what's stopping you?"

"I don't know what to make for him."

"Well that's easy," Asmo said as he carefully set about pushing back the other demon's cuticles again, "Beel would be happy with any food that you make him, you really should've been able to figure that one out on your own."

"No, not like that," Belphie shook his head quickly, "I want to make him something more meaningful than food that he can keep. That's why I came to you…" his sentence trailed off into a barely audible murmur as he averted his eyes from Asmo.

"Something handmade and meaningful that he can keep?"

Asmo paused again and frowned with a hum as his eyes wandered up towards the ceiling while he wracked his brain.

"It's fine, just forget I said anything." Belphie tried to brush the conversation off as the silence between them stretched on.

"Actually, I think I do know of something," Asmo muse aloud, "it's some sort of spell from the human world."

"A spell from the human world?" Belphie felt his interest pique as he stared at Asmo with a curious expression. "What kind of spell?"

"Solomon called it a friendship bracelet," Asmo explained, "humans usually make them for their friends as a symbol of long-lasting companionship, apparently you're supposed to make a wish as you tie your friendship bracelets around your wrists and then wear them until they fall off on their own — only then will your wish come true!"

"Humans really have spells like that?" Belphie gave his brother an astonished stare. "How do you make a friendship bracelet?"

"I'm sure Solomon will show us if we ask him, we should head over to Purgatory Hall as soon as I've finished your nails," Asmo suggested with a smile and an excitable gleam in his eyes, "then we can show off our friendship bracelets to all my fans on Devilgram!"

"Will this be enough?" Simeon asked.

The angel crossed the room before he placed a box full of embroidery threads on the table and descended into one of the dining chairs while Asmo and Belphie leaned forwards in their seats to catch a glimpse at the colourful threads before they shared an inquisitive glance.

"That should be plenty," Solomon said with an appreciative smile, "are you sure you don't mind?"

"Of course not, I'm actually interested in these friendship bracelets too." Simeon confessed with a small chuckle. "I bet Luke would be happy if I made one from him."

"Then I guess I should make one for him too," Solomon nodded, "if you want to make a strong friendship bracelet, I'd recommend using six or more threads," he explained as he reached into the box and began to sort through the assortment of threads, "any colours are fine as long as they go well together."

"I think I'll make a pink and white one," Asmo hummed happily as he picked out light pink and white threads, "oh! I think I'll use this lilac colour too! What do you think, Simeon?" He asked, holding up the threads to show the angel who had already picked out some white, blue and yellow threads of his own.

Belphie finally reached into the box and began to select black, white threads along with a dark blue, light blue, dark orange and a light orange.

"I want to make two friendship bracelets," Belphie murmured more to himself than the others as he set the orange threads and the blue threads into separate piles, "that way both me and Beel can wear them at the same time."

"I'm guessing that the orange one is for Beelzebub and the blue one is for you, right?" Simeon asked.

"No, the blue one is for Beel," Belphie said with a small smile, "and I can have the orange one, then we'll be reminded of each other whenever we see them."

"We want two threads of each colour," Solomon instructed them, "you should measure the length from your fingertips to your shoulder to make sure you have enough thread for your bracelets," he added as he showed them how to determine the best length of their threads before he moved around the table to help them measure, cut and tie their threads together with a knot before they secured the tied end of the threads to the table with tape.

"Doesn't this thread seem a bit too long?" Belphie asked as he played with the end of one of his blue threads.

"You'll be surprised at how much you need, besides it's better to have too much than not enough." Solomon pointed out. "Now that your threads are taped down, arrange the colours into your preferred order and spread the strands of threads out so they don't get mixed up, try not to cross them over too much when you're arranging them otherwise you'll end up with an uneven looking bunch near the knot of the bracelet." He demonstrated the movements as he spoke. "And then it's a case of taking the first strand and making a simple overhand knot with the next — make sure you pull the thread to move the knot all the way to the top — before adding a second knot, then move onto the next strand, add two knots again, and so on until you have your first row… see, it's easy." He added with a pleased smile as he watched Simeon follow his instruction. "Once you've finished your row, just place the thread you were using at the end before you go back to the beginning and repeat. Just make sure you keep your knots as consistent as possible to keep the pattern of your bracelets neat."

"Oh wow!" Asmo let out a cheerful hum as he finished his second row and admired his handiwork before he swiftly set to work once more. "You're right, Solomon, this is easy! These human world spells are fun!"

Belphie let out a frustrated sigh as his finger fumbled over the strands, causing the lengths of threads to become tangled up.

"Is everything ok?" Solomon asked as he watched the Avatar of Sloth struggle to separate his threads again.

"Yeah," Belphie gave a curt nod and finally freed one strand of thread from the bunch, "I just gotta…" he let his sentence trail off and his frown turned to a scowl as the threads became more tangled.

"Let me help you with that," Simeon offered as he leaned across the table to take the threads from Belphie's hands.

"Thanks Simeon." Belphie gave the angel a small but grateful smile before he turned to Solomon. "Do you think you can show me how to do it again? I'm sure I'll get it this time."

Hours later, Belphie found himself letting out a defeated sigh as he watched Asmo pull Solomon in close for a selfie with their matching friendship bracelets that Asmo had made before his eyes flitted towards the other pairs of bracelets that had been made by Simeon and Solomon.

He finally let his gaze drop down to his own half finished creation that was resting on the table in front of him with a glum frown as he easily spotted plenty of imperfections and mistakes.

"It's okay, Belphie," Simeon tried to reassure Belphie as he placed a comforting hand on the demon's shoulder, "it looks great so far and I'm sure that you'll get it finished in no time."

"You guys made it look so easy," Belphie said as he began to unravel his bracelet for the umpteenth time, "so why does mine keep going wrong?"

"You just need a little more practice, try not to be too harsh on yourself."

"I suppose you're right," Belphie nodded, but he still couldn't help feeling a little deflated.

"Hey Belphie?" Asmo called out.

He carried a box in his arms as he crossed the threshold into the attic where he found the youngest brother fast asleep on the bed. Asmo approached the bed, tucked the box under one arm and reached out to give Belphie's shoulder a gentle nudge but paused as he spotted strands of thread tangled between his fingers.

"Oh Belphie, it's been over a week now, are you still trying to make that?" Asmo murmured to himself with a shake of his head while a smile played on his lips.

He gave the other demon's shoulder a shake.

"Hey Belphie, wake up!"

"Mm?"

Belphie let out a tired groan and rubbed his eye with the back of his hand before he slowly opened his eyes to stare up at Asmo with unfocused eyes.

"Oh… it's just you, Asmo." Belphie murmured in a groggy voice as he nestled back into his pillow and closed his eyes again.

"Hey! Don't say "it's just you" to me and go back to sleep after I came all the way to the attic for you!" Asmo burst angrily as he gave his brother a harsher shove to wake him up again.

"I'm tired." Belphie grumbled irritably.

Asmo sighed impatiently and waited until the other demon sat upright on the bed with a stifled yawn while untangling himself from the embroidery thread.

"What was it you wanted anyway?" Belphie asked as he finally turned his attention towards Asmo. "Is it time for dinner already?"

"Simeon brought this over for you." Asmo said as he gave the box that was still tucked under his arm a little shake. "I'm guessing it's his box of embroidery threads, but you haven't even finished your first bracelet yet." He shook his head with a frown and gave the tangled blue threads in Belphie's lap a pointed stare.

"I'm starting over so I asked Simeon for some more blue threads, I didn't expect him to give me the whole box, I'll have to thank him later."

Belphie heaved a defeated sigh as he played with the fraying threads of his first attempt.

"I've lost count of how many times I've had to pick this apart and untangle it," he murmured with an amused chuckle before he discarded the unfinished bracelet and took the box from Asmo with an appreciative nod.

"So you still haven't gotten the hang of it yet?"

"I think I've got it this time. I just don't want to give Beel a frayed bracelet, it wouldn't last very long if I did."

Asmo gave a warm smile as he watched Belphie pick out new embroidery threads from Simeon's box.

"Y'know, I think I have some charms in my room, why don't I grab them for you?" Asmo suggested as he headed towards the attic door.

"Charms?" Belphie froze and gave the other demon a perplexed stare.

"Yeah, you can use them to personalise your bracelets. Don't worry, I'll show you how to attach them."

Belphie blinked a few times before he returned Asmo's smile with a small one of his own, "I'd like that."

After adding the final knot and tying off the end, Belphie sat up straight and rolled his aching shoulders.

"Are you done?" Asmo asked, glancing up from the green bracelet he was now working on.

"Nearly," Belphie said as he began to braid the excess threads of the bracelet before tying the ends off again, "there, now I'm done," he added as he held up two bracelets for Asmo to see.

"They look great!" Asmo beamed. "I almost want to keep them for myself!"

Belphie examined the two bracelets in his hand, tracing his fingers over the charms that Asmo had helped him add as he admired his handiwork.

"Do you think Beel will like them?" Belphie asked in an anxious tone.

"Of course he will," Asmo gave his younger brother a reassuring smile, "speaking of Beel, he should be home from Fangol practice about now, right?"

"You're right," Belphie said as he checked the time on his D.D.D, "I didn't realise it was that late already."

"Time flies when you're having fun, why don't you go and greet him?" Asmo suggested before he slowly turned back to his own creation. "And don't forget the bracelets!"

"Right," Belphie nodded, "thanks for everything, Asmo."

"Anything for my adorable little brother," Asmo chuckled as he waved Belphie away.

Belphie quickly got to his feet, headed out of the attic and down the stairs. He walked to the bedroom that he shared with Beel as fast as he could, opened the door and flicked on the light switch only to find the room vacant.

"Did he go to the kitchen already?" Belphie murmured to himself as he stepped over the threshold and began to check around their bedroom for Beel's Fangol bag. "Or is he running late?" He mused with a frown as he checked under Beel's bed.

"Belphie?"

Belphie instinctively lifted his head at the sound of his own name, hitting his head on the underside of Beel's bed as he did so.

"Ow!" Belphie let out a low hiss between gritted teeth as he ducked out from under Beel's bed and rubbed his head where he had hit it to ease the pain that was beginning to throb.

"Belphie!" Beel dropped his Fangol bag onto the floor and rushed over to the other demon's side from the bedroom door. "Are you hurt? Let me look."

"I'm fine, it's just a little bump." Belphie reassured his brother as he slowly got to his feet and let his arm drop back down to his side.

"Were you looking for something?"

"Nah, I was just checking to see if you were home yet."

Beel stared at Belphie in confusion, "under my bed?"

"You usually leave your Fangol bag on the floor or under your bed, so I checked there first," Belphie explained.

Beel furrowed his brow as his expression changed from confusion to worry.

"Is something wrong?"

"Huh?" Belphie cocked his head to one side with a quizzical expression. "Why would there be something wrong?"

"You were looking for me and you're always asleep around this time." Beel's frown deepened. "Has something happened? Has someone upset you?"

Belphie shook his head, "of course not," he gave a small chuckle, "I wanted to give only wanted to give you something."

He opened his hand to show Beel two friendship bracelets.

"I wanted to make something meaningful for you, so I asked Asmo for some advice. In the end, Solomon showed me how to make these… I… uh… I hope you like them." Belphie said in a sheepish voice as he tentatively watched Beel pick up the orange friendship bracelet.

Beel smiled as he carefully picked the blue bracelet out of Belphie's hand to inspect it too, "these charms," he added as he quickly spotted the two stars on each bracelet, "they're like the twin stars, right?"

"That right, they're our stars," Belphie nodded earnestly.

"So the moon in between the stars on the blue bracelet is you and the sun in between the stars on the orange bracelet is me," Beel mused aloud with a chuckle.

"I made the blue bracelet for you and the orange one is for me," Belphie nodded again, "that way we'll be reminded of each oth— ouph!"

Belphie's sentence was cut short as the other demon quickly pulled him in for a right hug, catching the younger brother by surprise.

"I really like them," Beel's voice sounded from somewhere over Belphie's shoulder, "thank you, Belphie."

"I'm glad," Belphie chuckled in relief as he gave his twin a small pat on the shoulder.

When Beel relinquished his grip on him, Belphie took the blue bracelet once more and continued to explain.

"They're supposed to be used for a spell from the human world, we have to make a wish as we tie the bracelets around our wrists, our wish will come true when the bracelets fall off. We'll tie the bracelets onto each other's wrists as soon as you're ready to make your wish."

Beel nodded with a smile as he gently looped the orange bracelet around Belphie's wrist, "I've got one already."

"Really? That was quick!"

"I wish that we'll always be as close as we are now," Beel said as he fastened the bracelet with a secure knot.

Belphie stared at Beel for a moment before he returned Beel's smile, looped the remaining bracelet around the other demon's wrist and fastened it in place.

"I like that wish, so that's my wish too."

End Note: Solomon's wish was for Luke to let them cook together more often — upon hearing this, Luke and Simeon made it their upmost priority to ensure that Solomon's bracelet never broke. (I'm just kidding, of course)
