In a random base in the Land of Rice.
Sasuke was not as complicated as some thought, he knew for a fact that he was actually rather simple. He had simple wants, needs and desires. To kill Itachi and die, joining his family in the afterlife. That was really his goal, having seen Orochimaru's power and knowing Itachi was even stronger, he knew he would likely perish... and yet there were things he wanted to do before he died.
Fight and defeat Hinata Hyuuga was one of them.
Her effortless defeating of him, so gracefully, made him loathe her and yet he was kind of unable to stop admiring her power. She was the kind of girl he wanted to bear his children, real kunoichi with real skills not worthless peons like Ino or Sakura. The kind of Kunoichi who would produce powerful children that would strengthen his line! He had been half tempted to talk to her, to ask her out but he held back.
Partially out of fear...
Fear of her and her family, who he knew at his most arrogant could have killed him.
But also out of fear of Mika.
Sasuke was no fool, he had known Mika was smart for years. The boy's effortless answering of academy questions, his sharp wit, and the look of power in his eyes... but what reall set him off was the rumors heard in additon to the boy's presence in Wave. The boy assasinated three people in Wave. Even Sasuke couldn't have done that. His masterful medical skills and even Kakashi looking to him with respect.
Sasuke saw the makings of a new Itachi and it terrified him.
Mika's recent addition as the Dancing Blade, so named for his masterful kenjutsu skills and evasive powers, only added to that. Even Orochimaru seemed to respect the boy's powers...
Sasuke, again, was no fool. He would not make an enemy of Mika if he could help it, knowing that he would easily be Kage level by the time Sasuke was ready to fight off Itachi... Clanless Ninja or not, Mika was that good.
And Sasuke wasn't sure if he, bloodline powers or not, could fight the boy and win...
Still, he would train, and train, and train and put himself in the best path possible to overcome Itachi and fulfill his goals...
Without making any more enemies than he had with Kiba's death and his own defection...

Naruto wanted to scream, hate in his childish heart. "He isn't teaching me anything, Mika taught me more in a few days than he has in almost two months!" Shivering, he lashed out, kicking a tree down. He had been following the conditioning routine Mika taught him, it helped a lot, but he did it in secret once it became clear that Jiraiya wasn't going to teach him shit. " I need training if I am to save Sasuke!" It was then that a brillant, perfect idea came to Naruto. An idea that just popped into his brain like a flower popping up in spring. Chuckling, Naruto bit his finger and went through his handsigns before slamming it on the ground. "Summoning jutsu." A small toad, Gamakichi, appeared. "No time to say hi, I need your help. I need you to deliver a message for me!"
"What is it, Naruto?"
"Tell Granny Tsunade that Jiraiya is not teaching me anything, that I want to go back to the Leaf and train with Mika! She will know who that is."
Gamakichi's eyes widened. "He isn't teaching you, but isn't the point of this trip to train you?"
"I know, right? Mika taught me more in a few days than the Pervy Sage has taught me in the entire time I've known him!"
"Right, I will deliver that message, you need to be safe from those Akatsuki people! See you soon, Naruto, summon me in three days if you hear nothing back from me." And with that, the Toad vanished, leaving Naruto alone and finally thinking he was going to get the results he so desperately needed.
And so, while Pervy Sage was away, Naruto moved through the katas of the style Mika had Lee teach him, hoping to make some kind of difference.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a lot of fun, a tester chapter, did I do well with Sasuke's mind? With Naruto's?
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
