Chapter 1: If... I had a Clue. (3/3)
"It didn't cause any serious damage but try to take it easy for at least a few days."
Stuart Walker was currently sitting on the edge of his bed, with his torso covered in bandages that Lisa Garland put on him because of the bruise that was caused by that thing that he encountered on the train.
"Okay..." He replied to her before scratching his chocolate brown hair a bit. "Thank you... I'm sorry for calling you so late." He apologized before he stood up to change his clothes into the outfit that he wears at home.
"Don't be silly, I am the reason why you had to call me so late to begin with." She pointed out as she watched him change, though it was partially true, she had nothing to do with the thing that attacked him. Once he had fully changed, the gentle nurse pushed him towards the bed gently. "No more talk, you need to rest."
Stuart didn't feel like complaining or anything as he was indeed tired. Once he laid on his bed, Lisa grabbed his glasses and placed them on top of the drawer. Then he felt her tenderly kissing his forehead before she caressed his head for a bit.
Suddenly, the Stalker felt exhausted and it didn't take long for him to fall asleep.
Dammit! The young boy thought. Why did dad have to forget to pick me up again.
During a strange and foggy day, a brown haired boy was sitting on a bus stop, waiting for a bus to arrive to take him home. But the bus was taking way too long to arrive. The little boy adjusted his glasses as he searched at each side for the bus. But the dense fog just didn't allow him to see anything.
After a sigh, the little boy decided to give up and just try to get home on foot. So he stood up from the seat and started to walk through the way where the bus was supposed to take him, but the dense fog didn't allow him to see much. Sadly, that caused him to move blindly on the path. As the boy walked, he couldn't help but feel strange, like he was being followed. That feeling however, caused the boy to stay still into place and to wait for whoever was following him to approach.
He simply stood there motionless for a minute. Until someone started to run towards him from behind. Once he turned to see, he saw... A girl. A girl with pale skin, dark brown eyes and brown short hair with bangs covering the right side of her face. She was wearing a navy school outfit with white socks and a black dress shoes. The two stared at one another for a few seconds, until the girl hugged him tightly.
"I missed you." She told him.
"Sorry, I forgot you." The boy replied.
"I don't care." She simply squeezed him harder.
"You should care." The boy told her.
"I don't, because I forgive." The girl told him.
"Why?" The boy was trying to understand.
"Because you love me." The girl told him.
"No, I love Heather." The boy corrected her.
"But you knew me before you knew her." She revealed it to him.
"What?" The boy was confused.
Suddenly, a loud noise was heard by them and the girl immediately separated from the hug. "Mother is coming."
The boy didn't understand what she meant again. Until the girl grabbed him by the hand and dragged him through the fog. But once the two took a few steps, the girl suddenly disappeared and so did the fog, but out of nowhere, a house appeared in front of the boy. Only for it to catch on fire right in front of him in a matter of instances. Then he saw the girl looking at him from one of the windows of the burning house.
"What are you doing?!" The boy screamed at the girl. "Get out of there!" He ordered her as the fire inside the house increased.
Once that happened, the boy took a step forward to try to save her. But then, he sees a strange figure inside the house, a familiar figure that he knows that he saw before. And the presence of that figure, caused the boy to freeze into place in fear despite not being able to see it clearly due to the distance.. Forcing the boy to just watch as the house collapsed in front of him.
Suddenly, Stuart Walker opened his eyes abruptly and greeted with the familiar sight of the ceiling of his room. What kind of dream was that? He immediately asked himself. I... Remember that day, with father forgetting to pick me up, but... I don't remember ever meeting that girl ... But... That house was... Familiar... I saw it before. The confused young man could only try to understand that strange dream.
Suddenly, Stuart felt a gentle touch on his head. It took a few seconds for his glasses to be on his eyes, which greeted him with Ms. Garland's pretty face. "How are you feeling?" She asked him while caressing his head.
Truth is, his chest was still hurting but less than yesterday and he seemed to have gotten enough sleep. "Better..." He told her, but then he had to say. "You didn't have to stay." He informed her.
"I wanted to check on you in case the damage was worse than I thought." She explained to him. "Besides, there's a storm going on outside." The nurse told him while pointing at the window.
Stuart moved his head to look at the window and there was indeed a heavy rain going on outside as he can see the rain drop falling on the other side of the window. More rain... Better than fog, I guess. He thought in annoyance. I think I'll stay home today, I don't think Heather will go out in this rain... He thought in disappointment.
"I... Made you some coffee and scrambled eggs." She announced to him.
"Thanks, I'll drive you home later." It's the least he could do for the gentle nurse and it would put that undesired car that he got from Kauffman to good use.
"I accept." Lisa said with a smile.
Stuart stood up and stretched himself before he followed Lisa out of his room. Making his way to the living room, he saw both Walter and Angela, each eating a place with scrambled eggs. Walter's was filled and he was happily eating it. Angela's had a considerable small portion and she was eating it very slowly, she had the blanket, that he placed on her, on her legs.
"Woof! Woof!" Mira barked happily at Stuart. Moving his head down , he noticed the nice dog on his feet.
Stuart got to one knee and picked Mira up. The dog immediately started to lick the Stalker's face happily.
Lisa giggled in response. "I guess she liked the gifts."
The one wearing glasses noticed that the things that Stuart brought for Mira were on the floor right besides the chair that she was sleeping on. And the pillow that he brought was on top of the chair. "Did you like it?" He asked the Dog.
"Woof! Woof!" She barked before licking his face once again.
"Well, I guess you're my dog now, so..." Stuart told her.
"Woof! Woof!" She barked happily in response before he put her down.
"Where did you find her?" Lisa asked before kneeling down to pat her.
"She followed me and I let her stay." Stuart revealed to her. "I don't think she likes her owner very much."
"Hmmm..." It was her response as she stood up.
Stuart then noticed a plate of scrambled eggs and coffee on the counter of the kitchen. He decided to take a seat to eat while it was still warm. "Thanks once again." He told her before he drank a cup of coffee, it was black coffee without sugar, exactly how he likes it. After tasting the coffee, he decided to take a bite of the scrambled eggs. A little salty, but not too much. The young man wearing glasses noted while he chewed the eggs.
As he ate, Stuart noticed Ms. Garland checking his cupboard. Inside of it, there were only a few things that he barely used. A PlayStation One with a single game disk inside of it. I never manage to get past the Cyborg Ninja. A recorder. Why didn't I toss that thing in the trash. A flashlight. A flashlight can come in handy when you least expect. An old pair of binoculars. I forgot I had those binoculars. He thought in surprise, already making plans to use it to watch Heather.
"Do you play?" Lisa asked him as she picked up the recorder.
"Technically, yes." He responded to her while drinking his coffee. "But I only know one song." I was never interested in playing to begin with.
Before the blond could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. Stuart moved his head to look at the door wondering who it could be.
"I'll..." Lisa pointed at the door before standing up and moving to answer. "Hello." She greeted whoever was on the other side of the door after opening.
"Hello?" Suddenly, Stuart widened his eyes as he remembered that he told Ms. Bennett to come at this hour to grab the box. "Is Stuart home?"
"Ummm... Come in..." Stuart spoke out loud for her to hear while awkwardly trying to come up with an explanation for Ms. Garland's presence.
The Cop then entered the Bartender's apartment alongside the Nurse. "Good morning, Stuart." She greeted him.
"Good morning..." He responded awkwardly before he drank some coffee. Noticing that Ms. Bennett was pretty much analyzing his apartment with both Walter, Angela and Lisa being the main target of her analysis. "Ummm... Ms. Bennett, this is Lisa Garland, a former coworker of mine." He introduced Lisa to her. "Those are..." Two freeloaders that are literally living here for free. "The friends that I mentioned, Walter and Angela."
"Hi there." Walter waved her oddly, but Ms. Bennett returned the gesture and waved back.
"Are you Stuart's mama?" Surprisingly, Angela asked Cybil a question. Which actually surprised Stuart.
"Oh, no." The Cop immediately denied. "I'm his godmother actually." She revealed it to the strange woman. "Speaking of which, did Douglas make any type of contact with you?" That question was for Stuart.
"Mr. Cartland hasn't made any contact with me in a while." Stuart was referring to a man named Douglas Cartland, who was is godfather alongside Ms. Bennett.
"I see..." Ms. Bennett then approached him and asked. "I know, it's none of my business but... Where exactly were you last night?" She asked him, as he actually texted her late at night.
"I was..." Delivering a briefcase filled with either drugs or dirty money for a drug dealer named Michael Kaufmann to a corrupt priest named Vincent Smith. "Buying a car from Lisa's boss..." That was the best excuse that he could come up with.
Justifiably, Ms. Bennett was surprised by what he said. "You brought a car?" She asked in clear disbelief.
"Y-yes, ummmm...A Mazda 626 in the color gray." He clarified to her.
"I... Overheard my boss saying that he was planning to sell it and told Stuart about it." Lisa decided to cover for Stuart by confirming his story. "I just wish that they didn't decide to make the exchange that late at night, otherwise Stuart wouldn't have been robbed." It was going extremely well until she added a completely unnecessary detail.
"What?!" It was the police officer's reaction.
Why...? Stuart thought as he gulped down the sugarless coffee.
"It made a massive bruise on his chest, I had to stay for the night to keep an eye on him." Ms. Garland decided to add more unnecessary information. Stop talking, please!
"Show me." Ms. Bennett demanded.
"Ummm... Ms. Bennett, this is really not-" Stuart tried to calm the situation by claiming that it was okay, but.
"Stuart Benedict Walker, I wasn't asking." Ms. Bennett made it clear that she wasn't asking.
The young man wearing glasses could only sigh, before he lifted his sweatshirt to show her the bandaged bruise. Only for her mouth to fall open after she saw it, not the bruise but his bandaged chest, with a considerable amount of bandage. Stuart's dark eyes then moved towards Lisa, who just gave him a thumbs up, clearly not realizing the mess that she just got him into. "Before you ask, I didn't see who it was." He decided to say it in order to keep the conversation short. Or better yet, I don't know what did that to me.
"How the hell did you not see who it was!?" She practically yelled to ask that.
"My glasses fell." It was the truth. But he decided to add something just to get her off his back. "A man named Murphy Pendleton helped me, but I don't think he saw who did it."
"Are you sure he wasn't the one who did it?" She asked as he finished checking his bandages.
"I shot whoever did it with a revolver s-" Stuart immediately shut up after saying that , because he accidentally revealed something he shouldn't.
"You did what?!" But immediately reacted to what he just said. Lisa also and looked surprised by what he said, Walter and Angela simply stared at them with blank expressions. And Stuart can swear that he heard a noise coming from the other side of the wall, indicating that the neighbor was hearing their conversation.
"I..."
After having to come up with a whole explanation of what happened the previous night, which was mostly composed of half-truths and made up events. Stuart came up with a story that he was actually going to get rid of the gun, which was why he had it during the attack. Luckily, Cybil believed him and asked him to show her.
So, she followed him to the bedroom and he showed her. "Huh, A Snubnosed Ruger SP101." That was the model of the revolver. "It was Benedict 's favorite." Benedict was his father's name, Benedict Rodney Walker and it's also his brother's name, Benedict Rodney Walker, Jr.
"Do you have any idea why that was in the box?" Stuart asked as he subtly grabbed Heather's photo from his drawer and hid under his pillow. I really don't need her trying to find out who Heather is because of this photo.
"I have no idea," The blond cop said as she placed it on top of the drawer. "Much less about this." She was referring to the photos that were inside the box. "Do you know anyone in these photos?"
Just Heather... "No, not really." Stuart wasn't really lying since she was referring to the photos that she was looking into. The young man wearing glasses then grabbed the diary that supposedly belongs to his father and handed it to Ms. Bennett . "This was also inside the box." I'm not invading my father's privacy, whether dead or alive...
She immediately grabbed the diary from his hand. When she opened it, a strange card fell from it. Both saw the card and the blond cop kneeled down to check what it was. She looked at the card very confused. "When did you get a permit?!"
Stuart didn't understand. "What?"
Cybil then showed him the card, revealing that it was a gun permit... On Stuart's name and it even has a photo of him on it. Before he could react to that, she found another paper inside the diary.
"What is that?" Stuart asked her.
"A register for the revolver... That is also in your name." She answered. "By the face that you are making it, I assume that you had no idea about either did you?"
"No..." Stuart responded, looking at the photo on the card, he recognized that it was taken when he was eighteen years old. "Can you do a registration for someone without their permission?"
Cybil simply sighed and placed her hand on her face in deep frustration. "Just... Forget it."
"Yes." Stuart honestly didn't want to know.
With that, Ms. Bennett placed the contents back on the box. Minus the revolver and the photo of Heather that he hid under pillow. " I'll... look into this, but until then..." She awkwardly handed the revolver back to him since it was technically his now. Stuart took it, mostly because he was still a little disturbed over what happened on the train. "Stuart.. please promise me that you won't do anything stupid."
"I promise..." He answered immediately.
"Good, bec-" Before she could finish what she was going to say , a sound came from her radio. "Dammit, I got to pick this up." She told him as she grabbed the box and moved towards the door with Stuart following behind her. "I'll call you later and put that revolver away." The police officer told him as she approached the front door, but before she opened. "It was nice to meet you all."
"Likewise, Officer Bennett." Lisa, who was sitting on the counter, said.
"Woof! Woof!" Mira barked happily in response.
Walter simply waved at her from the couch.
Angela simply ignored her and covered herself with the blanket that Stuart gave her.
With that, Cybil Bennett left Stuart's apartment in order to answer the call from the radio. Leaving the five of them by themselves. Turning around Stuart approached Lisa to ask. "Do you want me to ride you home...?"
After his unpleasant conversation with Ms. Bennett. Stuart decided to ride Lisa home on... His car. It was raining outside, and it was quite heavy. Stuart hated it, it made Silent Hill look even more dreadful than it already is. But rain was still better than the fog that usually engulfs the whole town.
The ride was peaceful enough, if you ignore the surroundings. Lisa sat quietly next to Stuart, observing the gloomy town. Soon enough, they arrived at Lisa's apartment. Picking up an white umbrella, Stuart left the car and moved towards the passenger's seat with the umbrella and opened it for Lisa.
"Thank you." She said as left the car.
The two of them then entered an alley that had a door at the end of it. "Here we are." Lisa said as they went inside and began heading down the hall. "My apartment is just around the corner." She told him as he closed the umbrella. "Used to belong to the super." Stuart wasn't really paying attention. "It's a lot bigger than the others, but I only pay standard rent." They reached another door. "The landlord has a thing for nurses." There was a certain repulsion on her voice, sadly, it was probably because she was used to people praying on her because of that.
Both the bartender and the nurse entered the apartment. It was a pretty big apartment, just like she said, it looked really comfortable. As they stepped inside the living room, Lisa spoke. "Grab a seat, I'm just gonna get out of these things."
"I ought to-" He tried to tell her that he was going somewhere. That somewhere was Heather's home.
"You're not running off yet." But she stopped him. "Warm up before you head back out there." That was clearly not a suggestion since she removed his coat from him and placed it on the kitchen counter. "I haven't thanked you yet." The blond woman then pulled him towards the couch. "Five minutes, come sit. Sit!" She practically ordered him.
Stuart then takes a seat on the nearby couch, and Lisa goes into her room.
"Watch some TV if you want. I won't be long." Stuart didn't really want to watch TV. "You know, last time I had a guy in my apartment it was summer." The young man simply stared at the TV, despite it being turned off. "During the heatwave." Lisa simply kept talking. " Now it's autumn." Is it? I don't even know anymore. "Freaky early, but still... time flies." It really does, doesn't it?
Eventually ,Lisa comes back into the living room wearing a different outfit. It was basically a long sleeve green T-shirt, pink sweatpants and white socks. "Here." She had a pill in her hand. "The effect of the painkillers I gave you early are about to pass." Now that she mentioned it, the pain on my chest is starting to come back. He took the pill and swallowed right away. The blond nurse then sat beside him and hugged her legs.
Stuart had a question for her and he was sure that it wasn't a pleasant one. "This... Last guy you brought here... Did he..."
"Tried something?" She already figured out what he meant. "No." Lisa looked at him with a sad look.
"Good..." He replied in relief.
The nurse gave him a weak smile. "You know, you're a nice guy, Stuart." She told him but he doesn't really believe that. "I feel safe around you..." She revealed it to him.
Stuart simply stared at her with a neutral face. "Thank you, for helping me." Despite his chest still hurting.
"You are welcome." Lisa replied, before she picked the remote control and turned the TV on. Then she grabbed Stuart's arm and wrapped around herself before placing her head on Stuart's shoulder.
The young man wearing glasses was confused but didn't complain.
Slowly, the young man opens his dark eyes. Catching the sight of a blurry and dark ceiling. Huh? Where am I? Stuart asked himself in confusion. Trying to move, Stuart noticed that there was a blanket covering him and that there was something on top of him. Something that turned out to be someone due to the breathing that he was hearing. Where are my glasses?
Trying to reach out for them, Stuart moved his right hand around subtly. Until he felt something that seemed to be a table next to him and right on the edge of it, he felt something that seemed to be his glasses. So he picked it up and placed it on his face.
Once his vision was clear, Stuart noticed that he was still inside Lisa Garland's apartment. Did I fall asleep...? He thought as he saw the dark apartment that was only illuminated by the TV that was turned on. Wh-what? Moving his head down, he noticed that there was a red blanket covering him and right on top of the blanket, there was a sleeping Lisa. Why...? He asked himself in deep confusion.
"Ummm... Ms. Garland?" He decided to wake her up.
Slowly, the blond woman opened her eyes and looked at him. "Hey." She greeted him while rubbing her eyes. "You fell asleep because of the painkiller and I decided to just let you sleep." She explained to him. "But I fell asleep while watching TV as well."
"Oh... I see..." Stuart sat up and stretched himself. "How long did I sleep?" He asked her.
She reached for her cellphone that was on top of the table where he picked his glasses up. "You slept for six hours."
The young man sighed before removing the blanket. "I have to go, my shift will start in an hour." It was night already, and he had to get to the nightclub to get changed.
"Can't you call them and tell them you can't go today, you should take it easy." Lisa immediately suggested him while touching his arm tenderly.
"No... I better just go to work..." Stuart replied before reaching for his shoes, which Lisa had removed and placed besides the couch, to put them back on.
"Okay." Lisa was clearly not in favor of it but she decided to accept his decision. So she stood up from the couch and moved to grab his coat for him. "Here." She helped him put it on.
"Thanks..." He appreciated the gesture.
Lisa then adjusted Stuart's hair for him. Before she wrapped her around him and gave him a hug while being careful to not hurt him. Stuart simply stood there awkwardly, but he did return the hug with low arms.
As soon as they separated, Lisa led him towards the door. "Please, take it easy." She pleaded with him.
"Okay..." He replied in a low voice before he left Lisa's apartment.
"Jack and Coke."
Currently, Stuart was behind the counter of the bar, preparing drinks for the people frequenting the nightclub. Honestly, he couldn't wait for his shift to end so he could go home as the loud music, obnoxious people and the pain on his chest was very unpleasant.
He was preparing a drink for one of the regulars of the nightclub. A young man named Tom. He was a decent looking young man with dark brown hair in a buzz cut, dark brown eyes, a clean shaven face and hooked nose. He was wearing a brown leather jacket with a red undershirt, black jeans and white sports shoes. Tom was one of the few faces that Stuart bothered to memorize, mostly because the individual repulsed him.
"Vodka without ice." Suddenly, Cynthia appears as well and makes an order.
"Hey..." Tom immediately tried to hit on her.
"Piss off." And Cynthia immediately shut him down.
"What? Do you have high standards or something?" But he didn't seem to like it.
Stuart simply served her order and she gulped down right away. "Thanks, Baby Face." She thanked him before turning around. Only for Tom to grab her by the arm.
"Why don't you sit down and have another drink?" That didn't sound like a request.
"Why don't you go find a girl that is drunk enough to put up with your nastiness?" But Cynthia rebuffed right away.
"What if I don't want another girl?" That wasn't really a question and he forcefully pulled Cynthia close.
"I'm sure no one else would want you to begin with, so it isn't a big loss for them." Cynthia replied sarcastically.
"Oh," Tom made a nasty smile as he grabbed her with both hands.. "You got a mouth on you, if we could only use it for something other than talking."
"In your dreams, asshole!" It was Cynthia's response to the nasty comment, which was followed by her hitting him on the crotch with her knee.
"AH!" Tom grunted in pain. "Fucking Whore!" He said nastily as Cynthia walked away from him and rejoined her group of friends. "Bitch!" He cursed as he saw several guys and girls around her, and he clearly didn't have the courage to face them. "Where the hell is my drink!?" He yelled at Stuart. Who was holding his drink at that exact moment. "Give me that!" He immediately grabbed his drink from Stuart's hand before walking away..
The reason why Tom repulsed Stuart, was because he was a misogynistic asshole. Who is constantly chasing women and getting nasty with them after his advances are rejected. Strangely though, he can't help but think that Tom actually reminds him of someone but he can't identify who.
Everything else about that night so far has been simply unremarkable. There were people dancing, drinking, and talking. Some guys were chasing girls, though with slightly more success than Tom. I have to admit, I sometimes envy these people. The bartender thought as he observed everyone. They're all so... Lively... He thought sadly, as he himself openly detests how dull he is. Suddenly, there was a couple dancing together, or at least he assumed that they were a couple since they came in together. He feels a bit of envy towards them as well, mostly because he wishes he had this type of relationship with Heather instead of just being a pathetic Stalker. I didn't see Heather today... He was a little depressed over that fact, but he plans on seeing her the next day.
Soon enough, his shift ended and it was time to go home. So Stuart went inside the office and changed his clothes back to his usual ones. As he did, he couldn't help but overhear a conversation that one of his co-workers, Michelle Valdez , was having on the phone.
"It's been almost a week, why haven't you returned my calls?!" She asked while sounding very frustrated. "That's what you said last time!" She yelled at whoever was on the other side of the phone. "John!" With a guy that was apparently called John. Stuart simply finished putting his clothes back on so he could make his way home. Once he did, he simply moved out of the office, where he saw Michelle climbing up the stairs in order to reach her room on the second floor. "You know, we agreed with this long-distance relationship but it seems like I'm the only one putting any effort into it!" She yelled as she shut the door after entering.
Stuart sighed in response to that. While all I can do is daydream about having a relationship with the girl I like, there are people that simply take their own relationships for granted. The Stalker thought as he looked at the stairs that Michelle just climbed. Taking a deep breath, he simply turned around and moved towards the door in order to return to the main area of the nightclub. But as soon as he touched the doorknob, he realized that the door was locked. What? He tried to force the door open, but to no avail. She did lock the door? Stuart asked himself as he looked at the stairs once again. Letting out another sigh, the bartender decided to climb the stairs in order to ask his co-worker for the key as he didn't really have a copy since he didn't live there like she did. As he reached the top of the stairs, Stuart noticed two doors on each side, the one on the right had stange drawing of a sun on it, while the one on the left had some strange moon drawing on it. "E-excuse me?" He called out for her as he knocked on the door on the right. "Ms. Valdez?" But there was no answer. "Ummm... You locked the door while I was still inside the office." The young man tried to inform the young woman. "Could you please hand me the key so I can open the door, I wanna go home." He requested. "Ms. Valdez?" He knocked on the door a few more times. "Hello?!"
Suddenly, however, Stuart heard a noise coming from behind him. Immediately turning around to see what it was, he noticed that it was the other door opening up slowly while making a creaking noise. Staring at it with his dark eyes, Stuart simply waited to see if there was actually someone coming out of the room, but no one came out. Turning around once again to knock on Ms. Valdez's door, another noise came from inside the room that just opened, causing Stuart to turn to look at it once again. "Is there anyone there?" He asked as he tried to take a peek inside from a distance. Maybe it was just the wind? He thought, but then he asked himself. Wait, there's someone living in that room? He never heard about anyone else living upstairs other than Ms. Valdez. If yes, maybe they have a key that I can use. He considered since Ms. Valdez seems to be ignoring him. Okay... Still a bit reluctant, Stuart decided to approach the other room to see if there was a key that he could use to open the door downstairs. Slowly, he opened the rest of the door, but the inside of the room was very dark, so much so that he couldn't even see the interior properly. Searching for a lightswitch or something, Stuart touched the walls next to the door frame, it proved to be a difficult task since he could only rely on the touch because the darkness was making the search particularly difficult. Come on... He thought in annoyance as he kept searching. Until he finally felt something that felt like a lightswitch. There! But sadly, no light came on even after he pressed it. Oh come on... Now what? The young man wearing glasses asked himself as the dark room was hard to navigate through.
Wait... The phone... Reaching into his coat's pocket, Stuart decided to use the phone to illuminate the way. Huh? But strangely, once he picked his phone up, he noticed something strange. It was emitting static and making a strange noise that seemed to be getting louder. Did it break because of the rain? He asked himself. But then, out of nowhere, the door behind him was shut tight. "Huh!" He was startled by the sudden noise and immediately turned around, only to notice that he was now in complete darkness save from his phone's light. "What?" The noise of static coming from his phone just got much louder and the room seems to have gotten darker. It only got worse when Stuart heard steps inside the room that were not his. "Who's there!?"
Thanks everyone for reading this chapter.
{For anyone who is curious, the new cover image is what Stuart looks like.}
Questions and Answers:
Expected the photo of Heather to spark questions from Stuart
Dr Kaufmann hasn't been around more than five minutes and I'm looking forward to reading about his death
Again loved the care Stuart showed for his two permanent house guests before he left even if it was something as simple as him asking Walter if he wanted a blanket and covering the sleeping Angela with one
Still like the irony that it's always Eileen peeking in on Stuart to see what he's up to another interaction I'm looking forward to getting at some point be kinda funny when Stuart tells her he's fine with her peeking haha
So that figure from the train is Stuart's version of Pyramid Head okay this leads to something I've been meaning to bring up for a while and that's can Stuart be different from the MCs of the games where he's got nothing to be seriously guilty aside from the stalking and the figure that attacked him is a bit different from old Pyramid head in that the figure while still happy to beat the crap out of Stuart it doesn't want to actually kill him
It just has a very rough way of helping Stuart haha
The whole being rough with him but not wanting to kill him is something I hope applies to all the monsters for Stuart they don't want to kill him they just have a I guess violent urge to help him haha
So while the meeting with Vincent went well the way it did really liked the reveal that Stuart knows and is close with Lisa and gave another example for me on how Stuart really is a kind not just anyone would take on that kinda debt for Lisa and I can only imagine the level of gratitude she has for him
Much like Walter and Angela I imagine
With the events that lead people to the events of Silent Hill not happening after this chapter I especially hope it's due to Stuart unknowingly being a Angel of sorts
Like you said Stuart letting Walter into his home has prevented Walter carrying out his murders so all those lives have been saved unknowingly by Stuart and with Angela taking her in prevents her from having the experience she had in the fog
Him staying by Mary's side also saved her life not just from her illness that I like to think Stuart's presence helped her beat and also him being with her a lot would have prevented James on his rare visits from smothering her when he visited when she was still in the worse stages of her condition
So yeah I really hope there's this notion that Stuart despite how he views himself and his own life as he's gone through life he's actually helped people even if he doesn't fully understand that he has really helped people and that he's why some people aren't going to end up dead at the hands of monsters
Some pricks though should still die at the hands of monsters and Stuart himself
Technically, it's a photo of Alessa Gillespie and Stuart is the reason to why he has it.
Sadly, Stuart is his henchmen.
He's so used to their presence that he ends up doing that.
Stuart simply cannot understand why would she do such a thing as there's nothing even remotely interesting about him or his apartment for her to spy on. { The reason to why she does it is actually similar to Henry's reasons for spying on her in the game (Similar, not the same)}
It's not Pyramid Head, is a unique creature that reflects Stuart psyche.
Vincent and Kaufmann are associates in the drug trade in Silent Hill and both exploit Stuart.
Honestly, Stuart is literally the only person that Lisa has on her life at the moment as everyone else has cut her off because of her addiction. So she has a deep attachment to him.
That's precisely what Stuart is intended to be, kind of a strange guardian angel figure around the people of Silent Hill, he accidentally prevented several things that were supposed to happen with the people there. He did prevent the 21 Sacraments from occurring by allowing Walter to live with his "mother", indirectly saving the lives of all his victims. Him finding Angela before her father did when she tried to ran away, prevented her from snapping and finally killing her father and brother in retaliation for the years of sexual abuse, which saved her from being consumed by the guilt which eventually lead to her death {Sadly, that means that her father and brother are still around, and they will definitely cause problems for Stuart later.} And you're right and wrong, Stuart didn't saved Mary from her illness, he did accidentally saved her from being smothered by James when he decided to visit right when he was about to do it, which lead to Mary staying alive longer where she shockingly manage to beat her illness after some time. {Even Mira was saved by him, as she was supposed to have been shot by Eddie in the day that she followed him home.}
It was a creepy chapter. I like the scene where he fights something. Stuart could be a loser. But he is willing to help strangers who come into his life.
-What Dr. Kaufmann gave Stuart to deliver may be related to the Silent Hill deity ritual.
-Will you add Anne Cunningham? Personally, I like this character.
-I'm wondering what version of the cybil bennett character are you using?
cybil bennett (silent hill 1)
Sybil Bennett (Shattered Memories)
Sybil Bennett (film)
Sybil Bennett (Dark Deception)
Sybil Bennett (Dead by Daylight)
-What is your favorite Silent Hill game?
-I hope that the end of this story, Mira is not behind all the events.
In case I don't see you good afternoon good evening and good night
As I said, I wanted Stuart to be my least impressive character, qualifying as a loser but still with something somewhat unique about him. He has a odd way to react to all the creepy stuff that is happening around him, which is to indicate a strange type of numbness that he developed with everything in regards of his life.
Stuart Walker is basically an average looking guy on his earlier twenties (23) with no memorable talents and a somewhat below-average physical shape , who lives in a very cheap apartment that is mostly cheap because someone committed suicide there, he works at dead-end jobs that he hates in order to get by, his "friends" are all completely problematic and not completely right on the head, his family is completely dysfunctional and he does everything in his power to avoid them , he is in love with a girl that not only is underage (17) but never even talked to him before and he literally stalks her every single evening.
It was PTV, a recreational drug used by tourists and citizens of Silent Hill. It is made of White Claudia, a plant indigenous to the region where Silent Hill is located. The Order does use it for rituals due to it's mystical and hallucinogenic properties.
She will indeed appear in the story. You see, Stuart's father was the one that suffered her father's fate (Crippled in a vegetative state and bound to a wheelchair) but Frank Coleridge was killed during the event (Supposedly by the same person that did that to Stuart's father.) and she's still in search for revenge.
A mash-up of Silent Hill 1 and Shattered Memories.
Definitely 4 but I really like Shattered Memories as well (Mostly because of the fact that it portrays Silent Hill as a habitable town which is the core concept of my story).
Nah, that was just a joke ending. Mira is actually the dog that Eddie killed in Silent Hill 2 and then he shot a guy that was nearby in the leg and ran away, ending up in Silent Hill as a result. {In here, Eddie never killed her or shot the guy, because Mira actually followed Stuart home, which indirectly saved her life.}
