Check out Animescale on youtube for how I am scaling Mika...

Anyone want to draw Mika for this story?

There are limits to the Byagkuan, that is why I chose it. Also there are limits to Mika getting said eye, you will see. I studied the lore for this. Ao was a huge inspiration for this but so was the Obito in the vision he had when fighting Naruto.

I will be showing Neji more, they were too busy in canon to be around much but that is changing.

MrTicklesMMM, this is dedicated to you for your awesome suggestions.

"I am afraid Mika refused the eye. He said, and I am quoting him, that he cannot bear to take power, that he has to earn it from the ground up as he always has." Tsunade's words slammed into the Hyuuga's, hitting them hard.

Hinata, Neji and Hiashi all looked devistated, making Tsunade's heart ache. However Ghost, in Hinata's arms, took it the worst with a sad cat sigh that just was heart wrenching.

Hiashi sighed. "So this was all for nothing?"

"No." Hinata said. "It was for family, and that is everything. Can we see him?"

Tsunade nodded. " He woke up fast... just be gentle, he suffered a tremendous trauma and is educated enough to know what is going on."

They all hurried into the room, with Tsunade at their back, to where Mika was sitting up, looking but oddly optimistic. "Hinata, you are okay."

She chuckled. "You are the one that needs to be worried about, how are you feeling?"

Neji, without question, moved to Mika's bed, sitting next to him and held his IV ridden hand. Mika turned to face them and they saw his bandaged face, his left side looked like Danzo's... and that broke Tsunade's heart.

"I feel fine. I am,.. well, not fine. I lost my eye, depth perception. I have to retrain my skills to adjust to my new reality but I am alive, I saved Hinata... I am okay. I will be fine, and I will surpass myself." He leaned into Neji, showing a vunerabilty she never saw in the boy.

Neji squeezed Mika's hand. "Lady Tsunade, can I help Mika retrain his skills? I was going to ask off for a few weeks to train with the Kiba blades anyway and things are calming down misson wise."

Tsunade saw Hiashi's happy smile, and nodded. She knew he wanted Mika to marry into the family, to forever link such a skilled ninja to the Hyuugas forever. This would only help that cause. "I will allow you a month, both of you. Mika I still need you to work at the hospital to keep your skill sharp and learn with Shizune, but other than that you are free to work as you need to. I will have Raido help with your swordskills, so you do not lose that skillset. I heard you bested one of the Swordsmen of the Mist, very nice."

"Thank you, my lady." Mika turned to Hiashi. " I am sorry for denying your gift, but I... even Danzo pointed this out, it's my character flaw, I cannot stomach taking power, I have to earn it. It is my purpose, to show what I can do without bloodlines. Like Lee showing that he can be splendid withotu Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, I will show that one can be great without bloodlines. I am am sorry, but that is my stance."

"What about another eye?" Hinata asked.

Mika sighed. "The Byakugan and Sharingan have special chakra that allows for rapid transplanting, it helps heal damaged optical nerves. Normal eyes cannot just transplant willy nilly, otherwise we would not have so many veterans blinded or near blind."

"I see...so what now?"

Tsunade answered. "Mika can leave in two or so days, he will train and then he will start acting as my body guard once more once he is finished. It is that simple. Now.. you can stay for another hour, but then Mika must rest."

"Yes, my lady."

As Tsunade left, she realized that Mika was far less than okay, his hands were shaking, his skin was pale and there was a feverish look in his eyes. She could only hope he recuperated, they could not afford to lose him.

Mika, after his family had left, turned, walked to the bathroom and stared into the mirror. He felt... odd. 'I look so strange, and I will look only stranger. I have no eye there, and I never will. How will I adjust to this, to having less depth perception? Will it really affect my ninja skills, I pray that it won't. I have worked too hard for them, to gain mastery...'

Shaking, Mika returned to his bed, ignoring the rising heat spreading throughout his core.

'I will be fine, I will not allow this to end me... I have worked too hard, struggled too much, to be destroyed by one bastard with a clever poison trick. Speaking off, what if i adjust my mist... maybe a chakra siphoning mist... that would be beyond helpful... I have another month off, I really need to become even better, no more weakness... I can do this... I will do this...'

And so he began to meditate, slowly and softly, focusing on the rythmic presence of his chakra, in and out and allowed that calm himself down and not panic like crazy as he so wished he could afford to do.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

The Training with Neji is too build up his bond with Neji, which I have been neglecting.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
