A Patronus and A Firebolt
(Hermione's POV)
I'm in the library alone, my favorite corner. I look around me and I pull out the necklace around my neck.
Time-Turner. This is how I've been able to take multiple classes at the same time. Ron is so funny because he knows something is up but still can't find anyone to believe him or take him serious. I kind of feel bad for him. He has all the pieces just can find the order they go in. I'm off to Arithmancy, which is the same time as COMC. It's by far my favorite class because Arithmancy I can do, boys on the other hand? Flat chance.
I race to my class and go inside, I pull put out my parchment. I try to pay attention but my mind drifts to Harry. Harry and Ron are mad at me at the moment because I told Minerva about his mysterious gifted Firebolt. I'm just looking out for him, I wish they would grow up and realize that. I hope Harry understands I just want him safe. The Firebolt could have been jinxed or something. That thought of Harry's broom led to a memory. Fred got me more interested in flying actually. I remember at the burrow he was flying around and asked me if I wanted a ride. I declined but he was persisted and of course I gave in. He made flying different, I felt safe.
Class ends and I walk down the stairs. I see Draco and Pansy walking together. I watch them walk together, laughing and Pansy grabs his hand and whispers something in his ear. Draco kisses her quickly and I lose them when they walk around the corner. I have the urge to follow them but I don't. Can't mess with time, it's too dangerous. I race to COMC but stop abruptly because I see Fred from a short distance.
"You need to just put her behind you," George said.
"The only one that stands to get hurt is me and I'm ok with that," Fred laughs, but looked upset.
I guess him and Angelina are having issues. I don't know why but the thought of that made me smile.

I'm in the Great Hall right before dinner, reading Self-Defensive Spellwork. I tried to find Draco but he might have been at Hogsmeade still so I came here to distract myself. Harry and Ron walk over and sit across from me. Ron huffs at me and then turns away to talk to Wood.
"Well, still mad at me I suppose," I say under my breath, returning my attention to my book.
"Not mad Hermione, just was bummed." Harry smiled slightly.
"Maybe you'll get it back before the Quidditch Final?" I said hopeful.
"He better," Ron said hatefully towards me.
"Thought you weren't talking to me?" I sneer.
"I was talking at you not to you," Ron snapped but then realized he was talking to me and huffed, turning away.
"He's a git, he just wants to ride around on it," Harry whispers.
"How's the lessons with Professor Lupin?" I ask, closing my book.
"Great, I actually produced something today. Just wispy silver strings but, I'm getting close. At least I'm not fainting anymore, chocolate helps for that," he smiles, holding up a chocolate frog.
"What are you trying to conjure?" Fred asks sitting down next to me.
"A patronus,"I say, smiling at Fred. "Each one is unique to the wizard or witch using the incantation."
"I've tried that a few times, haven't got it fully," Fred starts to say.
"What kind of animal did you conjure?" Ron interrupted, joining the conversation.
"The form hasn't taken exactly," Fred said.
"I'd guess a fox or maybe a hyena," I suggest.
"Why a fox? I understand the hyena. My good humor, slyness, and resourcefulness of the pranky goods. Can't forget this devilish charm," he brags, putting his hands through his hair.
"You're describing a Slytherin," Ron laughs, grabbing a piece of bread.
"Never," he said sternly, his tone changing.
"Foxes are highly clever, curious and quick, reminds me of you. Hyenas because they are very sociable and good in groups, doesn't sound very Slytherin to me," I smile. He smiles back at me, eyes lighting up.
"Thanks Granger," he says.
"What would mine be?" Ron asked.
"A pig," Fred suggests.
"Funny," Ron fake laughs.
"A little more practice and I know I'll be able to produce one," Harry says confidently.
"You will," I agree. "You too, just have to think of your happiest memory," I say to Fred.
"I'm always happy," Fred says.
"You're always joking," I laugh, "but, are you happy?"
"I'm not sure," he responds.
"How are you and Angelina?" I ask curiously. Before he could say anything Angelina comes in and attacks Fred from behind with a hug.
"Malfoy is furious," she whispers. Before I could ask, I see Malfoy walk into the hall and walk up to us with a bruised face.
"Weasley," he says through his teeth.
"Nice face Malfoy," Ron smirks.
"Yeah, your brother decided it be a good idea to sucker punch me, big mistake Weasley," Draco threatened before walking away.
"Way to go Fred!" Ron yelled. Everyone at the table started clapping and cheering. Except me. I see the smile from Fred's face slip away. I get off the table. Angelina kisses him on the lips and joins in with the crowd of cheering fans.
"Hermione, wait," he pleaded, grabbing my arm.
"Fred, I think you have some celebration to do," I nod towards the table and pull from his grasp.

I'm in the enchanted stairwell, walking down the stairwell.
"Hey Granger," Draco said, tapping on my shoulder. I smile and then we sit down on the steps.
"You nervous about the game," I ask.
"Never, Potter is going down," He said confidently.
"How's your nose? I ask, looking at the purple spot on his face.
"The bruise cream you gave me is working. Damn that Weasley," he says angrily.
"What happened anyway?" I ask curiously.
"He reeked of whiskey and regret, he was a drunken fool Hermione, all I did was ask where you were," he said, grabbing my hand.
"Why would he do that though?" I question.
"Maybe he's not as good as a guy you think he is," he snarked.
"I wanted to ask you something," I ask.
"Well, go ahead, I have to get to Quidditch," he says.
"I just was wondering about you and Pansy, I saw," I started to say.
"Did Fred say something? Hermione she was just giving me notes from Potions. The fact that you would even accuse me of anything shows what type of person you are. Jealousy is not a good color on you," he snaps before he starts to walks away.
"I just was," I started to say.
"I don't need to deal with this before the biggest Quidditch game of the year, thanks," He snaps before exiting into the hall. I sit there for a moment, blank minded. What did Fred not tell me? Why was he being so defensive? I sit for a while losing track of time. I race to my common room and run into Fred, unexpectedly.
"Fred, I need to ask you something," I say.
"What's up Hermione, I'm meeting George," he says.
"What happened between Pansy and Draco?" I asked seriously. He stares at me for a moment.
"Who told you I know anything?" He questions.
"What did you see?" I ask.
"Well, Pansy was coming out of the Dungeon with Draco and he told her 'that was great' before she left. Not sure on what the context implies but to me that doesn't sound like it was just Potion notes," he says softly.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I protest.
"He said you wouldn't believe me and I believed him," he said honestly. "That was stupid of me, I also didn't see anything damaging, just what they said," he defends, staring into my eyes.
"You could never lose me Fred," I said honestly. We stare into each others eyes and then he grabs my hands.
"Hermione, I would never try to hurt you, I just didn't want to risk losing you with telling you what I heard," he says honestly, placing his forehead on mine. I felt my body tremble and my face got flush. The pixies in my stomach started racing chaotically. He lifts his head back. "Hermione I have to tell you something," he says.
"Brother! What on Merlin's earth are you taking so long," George yells from the top of the stairs. Fred lets go of my hands.
"Hermione, I found this in your common, let's hurry we'll be late for our CoMC lesson," Harry says racing down to give it to me. I open the parchment from Hagrid, saying that he had lost the case with Buckbeak and thanking me for trying to help. The parchment has tear stains all over it and it makes me get teary eyed.
"Ron, Harry, it's Hagrid," I say worried. We all race together to the CoMC lesson.
Hagrid looks miserable, his eyes were puffy and he was not in a good headspace. We all overhear Malfoy talking.
"He's pathetic, weird to see a half giant be such a baby," Malfoy laughs. The anger in me boils over.
"How dare you, you foul, evil," I start to say before punching him in his nose as hard as I could. Blood erupted from his nose and all over my hand. Draco looks at me, cold then runs up to the school.
"Bloody hell Hermione," Ron yells, "That was brilliant!"
"Thanks," I laugh, holding my hand.
Bloody hell.
