"Dammit, LEO! Where the hell is that man!" Papers were flying everywhere as Piper was searching through her drawers, she found a book and chucked it over her shoulder without looking, almost smacking Leo in the face as he orbed into the room behind her.

"Whoa Piper, careful." he said. She whirled around quickly and sat with a huff on her bed.

"I can't find my passport anywhere! They're going to need it for her documents and I can't find it. How will I explain that to them when I'd need one to fly there like they think I'm doing?" Leo sighed and pulled her into a hug when he saw the tears of frustration in her eyes. "Prue would have had everything prepared days ago!" she began to cry into his shoulder as he rubbed comforting circles on her back.

"Don't Piper, don't do this to yourself, your passport is downstairs with all the paperwork you needed to gain custody of Paige. Your just feeling overwhelmed, and you have every right to be. Not only did you just lose your older sister but are now responsible for two teenagers. Two teenage sisters that no one knew about until they were hurt." Piper wiped her eyes with her hands and laid back on the bed to stare at the ceiling.

"I just don't understand why our mother didn't tell us, why Grams didn't tell us. Our family should have been more important than some magical destiny. What's the worst they could have done, taken our powers away?"

"No, I don't think so. You were all children, I know that your mother and Grams told you they were worried about you losing your destiny but I do not believe the Elders would have done that. They would have punished your mother and the twins' father, not the children. In fact the worst they could have done would have been to strip your mother of her powers making her mortal and recycle their father. They wouldn't have hurt your younger sisters, they are paragons of good, they aren't perfect but they wouldn't have hurt innocents." He laid next to her and pulled a lock of hair between his fingers to play with. "Your mother thought she was doing the right thing, she was probably scared and just wanted to protect all of you, we don't know how things would have turned out if she kept all of you, and we're never going to know. We can't dwell on what could have been, we need to focus on the here and now. And right now we need to grab our suitcases and head over to the hotel we booked so we can meet with the detective about Hermione." She nodded in agreement and sighed as she sat up.

"Leo, I don't know how I'm going to do this. Taking in two teenagers is hard enough, but both of them have been through so much. Paige barely speaks to anyone, barely eats. She blames herself for her parent's accident, Leo and I have no clue how to help her. She reminds me so much of Phoebe at that age, so angry and resentful, and rebellious. Thankfully she knew she was adopted, this would have been so much harder if she didn't. And Hermione, the detective said she was tortured, Leo, tortured along side her parents, and has been in a medically induced coma since. What if she didn't know she was adopted? How do we explain all this to her?" Leo grabbed her face with his hand on her chin to have her look at him.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there, we will support her and help her as much as we can, just as we are doing with Paige. But first we need to gain custody of her. Everything else will follow. OK?" he asked and smiled when she nodded. They walked out the room and down the stairs, not noticing the young girl in ripped black jeans and a mesh long sleeve shirt over a tank top leaning against the wall, tears trailing down her face. She had been told that she had a twin who had also lost her adoptive parent, but they didn't go into detail of what happened. She was hurting so much after her parents' deaths a week ago, but she could only imagine what the other girl would be feeling when she woke up. Wiping her eyes quickly she walked back to the room given to her and decided that she would try to not stress out her older sister as much, they were going to have a hard enough time with her twin and the last thing she wanted to do was hurt her birth family. She loved her parents desperately and knew they wouldn't want her wasting this second chance she was given. She grabbed her art easel that she threw into the back of her closet and let her mind go blank as she painted her feelings away.

Piper sighed at the mess in their sitting room, they were still going through Paige's things and had several boxes in the sitting room for her. The house was in the process of being sold, the money going into a savings account for Paige for after she turned 20. Everything in the house except for the bedroom set and a few items Paige herself picked out, were packed and placed securely in a storage unit that was paid for the next 5 years by some of the settlement that Paige received from the driver that caused the accident. The rest being set aside for whichever college she chose to go to. Walking past the sitting room and into the kitchen she found Phoebe sitting at the table drinking a cup of coffee and reading the paper.

"Anything good?" Piper asked.

"Just the usual, gas prices rising, double shooting downtown and Erik Weihenmayer became the first blind person to reach the summit of Mount Everest." She lifted the newspaper to show a picture of a man wearing dark sunglasses at the top of Mount Everest.

"Hmm… Are you sure you're ok with me and Leo being gone for the week? I can have Leo come back here after dropping me off." Piper suggested as she grabbed the papers she needed and put them into her travel bag. "Bringing Paige to the therapist and picking up all her school work so she doesn't need to go to summer school, taking her shopping for more clothes as hers seem a little small, demon fighting, and the club. It's a lot and I'm only an orb away but I don't know how long I'm going to need to stay in London with Hermione and…" Phoebe cut her off by giving her a large hug.

"I got it ok? Let me worry about Paige and demons and stuff for now, Hermione needs your full attention. We don't even know yet if she knew she was adopted. And what she went through, please just focus on her right now. If I need you I will call your cell or call for Leo." Piper nodded and grabbed all the bags they needed and waited for Leo to grab her shoulders.

"Love you, I'll keep you updated." Piper assured before being orbed out of one room and into another. Looking around she saw that Leo orbed her directly into a hotel room.

"Wait here, i'm going to check us in." he stated before orbing out. She set her bag down on the bed and pulled out all the papers she would need for her meeting with the detective and social worker. It was 10:00 in the morning at home so it would be 6pm here in London. That meant she was due to meet at the police station in a half hour, this gave her just enough time to get everything together. She and Leo had slept through the previous day and stayed up all night to help avoid 'jet lag' and make it easier to sleep tonight. She had just got off the phone with the taxi company and finished gathering all the papers and documents she needed when Leo came in the hotel door. "Sorry there was a bigger line than I thought at the check in desk, but we are all set for the next week and they told me they locked in the room for us if we need a second week."

"No problem, I'm all set. Let's go, the detective said he'll drive us to the hospital and the taxi company will come get us when we are ready to leave." She grabbed Leo's hand and closed her eyes as the once again disappeared in bright lights. A few minutes later they reappeared several miles away in a dark corner of a parking lot. She never understood how Leo was always able to orb in away from camera's but didn't really care at the moment. She straightened her shirt and walked through the main doors. They walked up to an older receptionist who was sorting through some documents and waited for her to finish before announcing themselves.

"Hello dearies, how can I help you?" She asked.

"We have a meeting with Detective Jones at 6?" Piper said. The old woman nodded and started to type on the computer at her desk before giving them a small smile.

"Please take a seat and the Detective will be right with you." She waved her hand towards the plastic chairs, directing them where to wait. They didn't have to wait long and soon an older gentleman in a blue suite came out to greet them.
"Good evening Mrs. and Mr. Halliwell, I am Detective Jones, please follow me to my office so we can speak freely." He led them to a brightly lit office space, there were awards on the wall to the far left and a blank board on the right. On his desk sat two pictures, one of a younger version of himself with a pretty blonde getting married, and another of the two of them with a little girl. Leo and Piper sat in the cushioned chairs and waited for the detective to speak. "Did you have a difficult time locating us? I know it can be confusing for newcomers."

"No, we made sure to leave early just in case we did though." Leo responded and gave Piper a look of amusement before addressing the detective once more. "We have all the requested documents and if anything else is needed my sister in law is on standby to fax it over."

"Great, there has been a slight change of plans as we'll be meeting the social worker at the hospital. Your sister woke up an hour ago so she wanted to meet with her first. She's a family friend and wanted to be there for her when she came out of the coma." Piper's shoulders sagged slightly with relief that she had woken up. "Because of this, when we go to the hospital I will need to take her statement of the attack. I do need to make you aware that it will not be good, solely based on her injuries alone, we are able to deduce most of what happened."

"I know you described some of what happened over the phone, but can you explain who did this? Should we worry about a repeat attack?" Piper had been worried for the past few days about whether someone was going to go after Hermione in the hospital. It was one of the reasons she wanted to get here as soon as possible.

"Honestly, there is a slim chance of a repeat attack, this was a terrorist attack and she was not meant to survive it. She may have seen her attacker and if that is the case then yes, there is a possibility that they may return. It is one of the reasons I am trying to get the paperwork and everything else pushed through as fast as possible. It would make it harder to get to her if she is in another country. Miss Granger was brutally assaulted, this wasn't some random attack. It was personal, someone targeted your sister and her parents. The elder Grangers where tortured for hours before they died." Detective Jones opened a file on his desk and slid several pictures to them. One was of two people covered in blood with gashes all over, one was of the walls of the house, a symbol with a snake on the wall in blood. And another of a young girl covered in blood with cuts, bruises, gashes and words carved into her body. Her clothes were ripped like someone slashed them with a knife, and given her injuries, it was likely that is what happened. Piper had to wipe away tears at the horror and pain her sister had to have gone through, even battling demons all the time never led her to see such depravity.

"Oh my god, how did she even survive?" she whispered in shock.

"I asked myself the same question when we found her." He collected the pictures and put them back into his folder. "Are you sure you can take her in? The Social worker will have more questions for you, but I need to make you aware that you may have to travel back when we catch the culprits and need her testimony."

"I'm sure, we don't want anything else happening to her and had we known sooner that she existed we would have reached out a long time ago. We understand that she may need to testify and will do what we can to ensure she is able to." He nodded at Piper's assurance and stood from his chair.

"Well we should head to the hospital now, and get everything taken care of so you can take her home." They followed him outside and to his car. The trip to the hospital was quick and soon they were being led to the 4th floor Pediatric ICU and into a small office space where they were waiting for the Social Worker. The woman that stepped into the room had dark red hair pulled into a tight bun and glasses on her face, she wore a dark navy blue dress and black boots. She had several files in her arms and a dark black shoulder bag on her arm. She came into the room and sat on the black couch across from them.

"Thank you Detective, May I speak with Mr. and Mrs. Halliwell privately for a moment before you see Miss Granger and take her statement?" She asked politely to which the Detective nodded and stepped out of the room. Facing the two of them she cleared her throat before removing a stick from her sleeve and waving it around. Piper tensed when she felt a bubble of power surrounding them and faced Leo in concern. She placed the stick onto the table and raised her hands to show peaceful intentions. "Please do not fear, I was only ensuring no one could hear us. I know who you are and I bear no ill will to a charmed one and her protector." Piper watched her carefully before clearing her throat.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She asked sharply.

"My name is Amelia Bones and I am a wand wielder, I can perform magic similarly to yourself only mine do not hold the same repercussions as yours, we are cousins to the dwindling wizards you have met previously, although we are not immortal, we do have double to triple the mortal lifespan." Piper looked to Leo in confusion.

"Leo how come you have never mentioned that there are other beings that have magic like us?" She asked with a glare at his sheepish expression. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"I honestly didn't think you would ever come across a wand wielder, or Mage as is the proper. Their population has dropped significantly over the past few centuries and they are extremely isolated from our world. They hide in magical pockets of civilization and govern themselves, much like the demons do in the underworld. They rarely interact with mortals since exiling themselves after the witch trials. The Elders tend to let them keep to themselves unless they're problems bleed into the mortal plane." He sat straight and faced Amelia. "What I want to know is why you are involving yourself now? Hermione, if she had any powers, would be either a Whitelighter or Wiccan witch, not a Mage." Amelia removed her glasses and pinched the bridge of her nose as she spoke.

"It appears that a power Hermione has mimics our type of magic, it is rare, and had a Whitelighter come when she first started showing it, we would not have confused it with wielder magic. We did not receive notice that her magic was different until the recent attack. For the past four years she has attended Hogwarts school of Magic, she never drew attention from the Ministry before so we never had a need to look deep into her file before. But due to her current situation, we needed to look at her history to find a next of kin. To be blunt, the wizarding world is very old fashioned. Even if she had living relatives in her adoptive family her Biological family would have been reached out to first, especially as you are magical yourself. Unfortunately non magical beings are looked down on, not that it is right, nor do I agree with that opinion, but because of this we would not have placed her with non-magical beings. If you do not wish to move forward with the adoption of your sister, though I doubt you would have come all this way to turn around, we will then need to place her in a magical orphanage until a magical person is willing to claim her as their ward, Frankly given that she is thought in our world to be a Muggleborn, she would more than likely remain in the orphanage until she turns of age which in our world is 17. So before we go into more detail I am required to ask if you still intend to claim your sister?" Piper scoffed at the question.

"Of course I am. I don't care what I have to do, I'm bringing my sister home." Amelia nodded and pulled some papers out of the file.

"Thankfully Hermione was made aware of her being adopted so it wasn't a shock to learn about her Biological family, the only shock was learning that her magic was different. Because you are magical, though not a welder, it makes the process faster. It also doesn't hurt that you were already approved to take her twin in as well. A lot of the initial questions about housing and finances have already been answered because of Miss….ahh, Matthews case. This will just be a recap. You currently own a home that you share with your Husband, and two younger sisters Phoebe Halliwell and Paige Matthews. The house has 6 bedrooms, so that is ample sleeping space, 3 bathrooms, two living rooms, a conservatory, kitchen, and basement. The house is paid off, which means you pay property taxes and utilities. The only thing about the property that concerns me is that you are located on a nexus." Piper appeared surprised that she knew this and felt nervous that they might get rejected. With Paige she didn't have to worry about trying to prove the safety of the house with demons constantly attacking. Leo reached over and squeezed her hand comfortingly. "Now I know the Nexus is neutral and you are its protectors, I do worry about the demon activity. We don't have as many demon attacks in this area, mainly due to the amount of wielder energy, it seems to make them feel uncomfortable above ground. But seeing as how she is not really a wielder, Demons would flock to her in any case and living in a household with so many powerful beings would be safer then one of our Orphanages." Piper let out a deep sigh of relief and loosened her grip on Leo's hand. "Now onto Finances. I understand that you own a Club and it does bring in a decent revenue, I do see that you also have a savings account with funds you inherited from your Grandmother after her passing so those are all a plus. Hermione's Adoptive parents left her several Properties and banking accounts in their will and I want to stress that these are signed to her and not to yourself. There is one account that they set up in the case that they passed while she was a minor that is to be used for schooling, housing and basic necessities for her care. This means that any and all school costs have been and will be taken care of, including any university, college or vocational schooling she may choose to attend. And any funds left over after she has completed her school will automatically transfer into a savings account under her name that she can access with the other accounts she has after she turns 18. This account also includes a stipend of $800 a month that goes to you until she turns 18. This is to help alleviate the monetary stress that caring for a minor can cause, you can use this any way you see fit. Food, clothes, allowance, reading materials, anything that is needed to help you care for her." Piper nodded although she wanted to disagree about accepting the money, she knew that taking care of two kids would not be cheap, she also knew it wouldn't do any good, Paige's parents had set the same thing up with a month stipend of the same amount, she believed that was a set amount in most cases. "Her Parents were well off dentists and own multiple practices in London, Australia, and California, their home practice being in London. Hermione told me that after running their own dental practice for a decade they decided to assist other failing businesses in becoming successful. In total they owned and ran 10 dental practices with three other shareholders. Now because their shares change over to Hermione, when she turns 18 she can decide if she wants to sell her 73% share or take over. Until then the three shareholders will oversee their practices in their separate countries. They will be unable to make any serious decisions, such as opening or closing a business without her, but all other decisions they can and will handle in her stead. They also own multiple Properties, in total there are four, the house she grew up in, in London; a veila in Sydney, Australia; a Vineyard in Paris, France and an Apartment in San Francisco, California. Hermione already knew about the properties as her family tended to travel every summer to each property when they would vacation in the area. I will stress that these are Hermione's properties, they do not belong to you so you have no ability to sell or rent these before she is of age. All can be accessed and used though before she turns 18, she cannot make any decisions on selling or renting until she comes of age. You can, if you choose to, use an optional stipend to have them maintained." Wide eyed at the sheer amount this poor girl now owned, Piper nodded in agreement to the maintenance. She didn't want the properties to get damaged or ruined before Hermione had a chance to see what she wanted to do with them in a few years. " Now that we've discussed financing and housing, we'll move on to the next topic of concern, safety and the complication of her having joined the Wizarding world when she shouldn't have. You are a charmed one, that means demons will constantly be after you. How do you plan to protect two teenagers from these dark beings?"

"Obviously it won't be easy, I can't be with the girls every second of the day. But I can teach them how to protect themselves if they are attacked and I am not present. This paired with the fact that if they call for my husband he can Orb them to safety, being that he is a Whitelighter, will diminish the increased risk of attack. And although we are targeted by certain demonic beings, the majority of them do seem to leave us alone, purely because of our reputation."

"I will accept that for now, but I do need to let you know that if our world was not currently on the cusp of war, I may not have been willing to risk that without having a monthly random check done." Piper nodded but waited to ask her questions until Amelia was done talking. "The terrorists that attacked your daughter are a group of dark wizards, sorry wielders, that are part of an organization we believed to have eradicated a decade ago. They have returned and because of your sister's connection with one of their targets, she is now being targeted. By leaving with you, and doing everything the muggle, or non-magical way, it gives her protection. She is not of our world so she can not attend school here anymore, but she is a target of those in our world so we cannot just abandon her. It was a mistake made by us so we need to rectify it as best we can. She is willing to leave with you as soon as she is physically able, which thankfully due to our capabilities, will be by the end of the week in three days. Her only request was honestly something I had no trouble approving, but something you might." She pulled out a picture of a boy with crazy unruly black hair and piercing green eyes. He was wearing a ripped shirt three sizes too big, pants held up by an old belt and shoes that were clearly too small. He looked under fed and sickly. He was bent forward pulling out weeds from a garden in the picture and Piper couldn't help but feel for him.

"Who is he?" Leo asked as Piper ran her finger over the picture.

"Terror blanketed the wizarding world at the brutality of the Death Eaters, Followers of the Dark Lord Voldemort, for 11 years. Most of our world calls him He Who Must Not Be Named due to the horrors he inflicted on us. I do not, I refuse to fear a name, For 11 years he pushed his dark agenda on us. His goal was to overthrow the statute of secrecy, kill and enslave muggles, and like every other bad guy, rule Wizarding Britain. He was close too, until he tried to kill a babe after murdering his parents, leaving little Harry Potter, no older than a year old an orphan. Somehow the magic being used against the babe was repelled back at the attacker, thus destroying Lord Voldemort. I learned recently that the savior of our world, instead of being given to another magical person of relation, was literally left on the doorstep of his muggle aunt." Amelia watched with approval that both of them were less than happy at the thought of a baby being abandoned like that. "For the past 14 years this young man has been kept in an abusive home with people who hate what he is and are not afraid to show it. When I investigated a case he was involved in this year I learned about his abuse and learned that the person who left him in such care is the Headmaster of the school the children attend. Now if he was only a headmaster my job would be simple, unfortunately Albus Dumbledore is also the Supreme Mugwump of our ministry and one of the most powerful Wizards in history."

"Why are you telling us about him? What do you want us to do?" Piper asked as she stared down at the picture.

"Honestly, I have no clue what to do for Harry at this point. All I know is he cant' stay there and anyplace I move him to he'll just be removed from and brought back, with me potentially losing my job… Hermione told me how she and her parents had planned on taking him with them on vacation this summer. They didn't plan on telling anyone until the day they picked him up and were already flying to Australia. It was only for a few months and they had permission from his 'Guardians' to take him. He hasn't been informed of the situation yet, no one except for myself has been made aware of this. She asked me if it was at all possible to have him stay with her, with you, for the summer. She's very protective of her friend and to be frank, I think she is using her need to protect him to distract herself from what she went through. What I would like to ask you is if at all possible would you be willing to take him in for the summer. There is no question you were qualified to care for Hermione, and I can't think of anyone more good than a charmed one. At the end of the summer I will have found him a permanent residence and collect him from you. And although my superiors may not believe that Voldemort is back, I am not as naïve, this will give him and Hermione a type of protection, across the sea's that I otherwise would be unable to offer." She looked pleadingly towards the two of them. Piper shared a look with Leo before once more facing Amelia.

"I need to make a phone call, I can't be the only one to agree to this as we're not the only ones who would be affected by another teen in the house." Amelia nodded understandingly.

"Please do, I'll step out of the room to give you privacy, I need to speak to Detective Jones anyway." She grabbed her bag and left the two of them alone, purposefully leaving several pictures of Harry Potter's mistreatment on the table for them to see. Piper fished out her phone as Leo picked up some of the pictures. He was clearly under fed and his glasses were taped together using tape. His black hair was wild and hung past his ears. In some of the pictures you could see dark bruises peeking out from under where the over large shirt slipped down his shoulders. His heart broke with the amount of trauma the three teenagers he was going to care for have been through, looking at his wife he knew that they would agree to Amelia's request. His big-hearted wife, who so desperately wanted a child of her own, would never be able to turn down a child so in need of caring. He was worried about how they could protect them and resolved to teach them to hone their powers as soon as possible. Piper noticed him holding the pictures and held her hand out for them as she put her phone to her ear. After hearing the phone ring three times it was picked up

"Hey Piper, what's up, is Hermione ok?" She asked.

"Yes, well there is some stuff we have to talk about later tonight but it's going to take too long, look before all this happened her parents were going to be hosting one of her close friends for the summer. They where going to do this while his legal guardians were put under investigation for child abuse. Now with what happened, it's put her friend in a precarious situation as they can't just put him in the foster system since he's in a kind of witness protection type thing. We were asked by the…social worker… if for the summer we could host him. It was also Hermione's only request. I told them that since It's not just me that would be responsible for the kids that i would have to talk to you too." She could hear shuffling as Phoebe sat down and the tapping of a pen to table as she thought.

"What about exposure?"

"That's not going to be an issue, I'll tell you more later tonight. I just need to know if you're ok with it." Piper held up an old picture, it had to have been a school picture taken, of Harry at around 7 years old. He had a black eye and where baby fat should have made him have a chubby face, was instead sunken in from malnourishment. "I…Pheebs, we fight demons on a daily basis, but looking at these pictures of what these kids have gone through, seeing what happened to Hermione. It just shows me that sometimes humans can be just as evil." Leo stood up and wrapped her in his arms as she shook slightly, clearly upset.

"Man is armed with craft and courage, which, untamed by justice, he will most wickedly pervert, and become at once the most impious and the fiercest of monsters. Aristotle. Sweetie, we might not be able to vanquish the human monsters we face but if taking in this boy for the summer protects him, then let's do it. Plus, you cook more than enough for us all and this way I don't have to worry about losing my figure to your food." Piper laughed and told her sister she would update her later. Smiling, she nodded to Leo and sat back down as they waited for Amelia to come back. The door opened and Amelia came in with some more files in hers hands, she sat back down behind the desk and peered over to the young couple.

"Have you decided on my request?" She asked.

"Yes, we have, and everyone is in agreement to housing young Mr. Potter for the summer, we do have a few stipulations though." Amelia tilted her head slightly, before signaling Piper to continue. "The first one is that he will not leave our house at the end of the summer if his only alternative is back with these…people. The second is we are allowed to train him in our ways. From what you've described is that your type of magic is not so different from ours and he can benefit from learning both, we will also be teaching him basic defensive lessons against demons in case one attacks us at home. Plus we don't know if his magic will be able to defend himself from them as sometimes even ours don't. We also will need any kind of books and materials needed to assist him in training with his own kind of magic." Amelia nodded and the two of them watched as a weight seemed to lift from her shoulders.

"Those are very reasonable and I have no concern with meeting those for you. In fact I was going to ask you show him how to defend against demons, it is one of the defenses we lack in, most of our world have forgotten of wiccan witches, believing that magic only comes from us, they have forgotten the old ways, and demean other sentient magical being as lesser. Having even one of our own be taught by a proper Witch, a Charmed one to boot, well it may be what is needed to help push us forward and bring back knowledge lost to us. I will also offer to take you to our wizarding shopping center, before you return to America, to help you get any needed materials for the children and provide you with the address of the shopping alley near you, which will help when you run low on supplies. Since we are trying to hide Harry and Hermione from the 'Wizarding' World, we will be filing all the paperwork the muggle way. Our Majesty the queen still holds power over even magical citizens and cannot be overruled. A little loophole that will aid us greatly."

"Won't your people be able to look this up?" Asked Leo.

"Most wizards are too lazy to do any deep diving, and the ones that aren't lazy have no clue how to sort through anything muggle, a consequence of our self exile. No, this is the safest way to go. His muggle guardian's will have no problem signing away their rights and this will allow me to give you temporary guardianship over him. I will be heading over there tonight and have those papers ready for you tomorrow morning. As for Hermione, everything on your end is in order so I only need your signature here… and here, and then I'll lead you to your ward.'' She pointed to two areas that the couple signed and soon they were following her out the room and down the halls. Piper grew tense as they walked down the Hospital, she couldn't help but remember the last time she'd been in the hospital, when Prue died. She felt Leo squeeze her hand gently, as though he knew what she was thinking. She gave him a tight smile and took a deep breath. She needed to focus on Hermione right now, there was nothing she could do for Prue. Amelia led them to a room at the end of the hall. It appeared that Hermione was given a private room due to the severity of her injuries. She knocked and slowly entered the brightly lit room. In the bed, sat a young girl with curly brown hair spread over her pillow, she could tell no one had brushed it since her admittance and cringed at the thought of how matted it was. She was covered in several bandages and her left leg was in a cast, cuts marred her skin. But through all that, Hermione could tell that this girl was her sister, whereas Paige had dark brown near black hair and fair skin like Prue, Hermione resembled their mother so much so, it was shocking. From the color of her hair and her eyes to the shape of her eyebrows, nose, mouth and fair milky skin. Piper always thought herself a copy of her mother, but she had to give the title now to Hermione. Hermione waved at Amelia and only tensed slightly at the appearance of Piper and Leo. Piper felt an odd static feeling, as what she assumed to be the same border placed in the earlier room, was put into place.

"Greetings again Miss Granger, I wanted to come and not only introduce you to your sister and Brother in law, but also inform you that they agreed to host young Mr. Potter this summer." Piper couldn't help but smile at the immediate change of atmosphere when Hermione perked up and her face brightened. Facing the two of them she gave a grateful nod.

"Thank you so much, It takes a lot for a person to accept not just one but two unknown teenagers into their home at once. It also speaks a great deal to your character.."

"Please don't worry, we've more than enough space, having the three of you with us will be no bother." Piper said. Hermione's brows creased in confusion for a moment before relaxing.

"That's right, I have a twin. I was told that you recently got custody of her, may I ask what happened?"

"She was in a car accident and her parents didn't make it, they had no other living relatives so she was returned to the state where it was decided to contact her birth family." Hermione was saddened at the tracing news and felt slightly angry at the twist of fate that had both of them lose both sets of parents.

"Did you know about us?" She asked. Piper sat down next to her and took her hand in hers.

"No, we found out when we were contacted about Paige. We are actually half sisters, sharing the same mother. When she and my father broke up she had a relationship with her Whitelighter, a being of good magic that watches over good Witches. At the time it was forbidden to be romantically involved with a Whitelighter, let alone have children with them. When she became pregnant with you and Paige they panicked. She was fearful of the ramifications, and with encouragement of our Grams, placed the two of you in a church. She never told us and we were so young, Prue being the oldest, that we didn't realize she was pregnant. We didn't find out about you two until our sister Prue died and the case worker reached out about Paige."

"Oh I'm sorry I hadn't been told that one of you passed away." Piper took a shaky breath and gave her hand a small squeeze.

"It's ok, Prue was the oldest and had she still been alive, would have been the one to gain custody of the both of you. Before we discovered you two, we had thought our charmed destiny had died with her too."

"Amelia had informed me that you were a charmed one, has our discovery changed your destiny?" She asked. Leo stepped forward and smiled.

"Actually it has, we had originally believed that when Prue died, the Power of three was lost. We have since learned that you and Paige have a blended soul. Together the two of you form a Ying-Yang form of magic. The elders believe that once all of you are introduced that the Power of three will be reformed." Amelia regarded him for a moment before facing Hermione.

"That sounds similar to our kind of magical Twins, very rare but when they are born they share a magical bond, this bond is believed to be a shared soul split in half, where one is weak the other is strong to create a type of balance." Amelia informed her.

"So Paige and I share a soul, and although it is split between two bodies, the magic is still connected as a whole. How does that affect our powers? I know I'm not a mage, That my abilities were a result of the power of Projection but….."

"Wait WHAT!?" Leo cried out in shock. "I know you said she had a rare power earlier Amelia but Projection, That power is extremely rare, and received by those with great destinies in their future." He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled bashfully. "Sorry I was surprised." Piper chuckled and shook her head before giving him a stern look. "Err- right, so together you and Paige equal one third of the charmed power, the Elders believe that for a power of three spells to properly work all four of you would need to be present. Now all of you have had your powers bound as children by your Grams. I believe that due to your and Paige's Whitelighter half, you were only partially bound, allowing you access to certain powers, just not your Charmed ones. This would have broken when your Grams passed on. This also means that when you, Paige, Phoebe and Piper are all together the power of three will be reconstituted. I'm not sure which Warren power you have, Paige has telekinesis, but if it follows the pattern of the past then you should have either the same power as Piper or some variation of it. We also don't know how your being a hybrid will affect your powers. One of you will have a stronger connection to your Whitelighter abilities and one to your Warren powers. This is due to the Ying Yang soul I mentioned earlier, Whitelighter's are natural Pacifists so their magic is Defensive for the most part. From what I was told one of you will have more Offensive magic and One will be more Defensive, this is to keep a balance between the two of you. I do have an idea of which of you is which but we won't know for sure until you all meet." Hermione nodded. "What I do know is that once you are physically capable we will be starting a training regime for you, both physical and Magical, The power of Projection, when not controlled, can cause a lot of damage to all involved, especially when emotions run high." Once more, Hermione nodded in agreement. "We will also be training your sister and your friend as well, so you won't be alone during the summer. But when the school year starts we will have to figure something out for you. Amelia did tell us how high your grades are but I don't know how that translate into our world…"

"Actually I've been homeschooled in the muggle world since starting Hogwarts, I am currently in my final year of A levels..um the American equivalent would be Senior year of Highschool. That was my parents only request when I started going to Hogwarts." All the Adults seemed to be surprised and Piper let out a relieved breath.

"That makes things so much easier actually. We can have your schooling transcripts transferred to California and continue with your last year of study at home. Paige may wish to continue her schooling, I believe she has two more years left, but we will discuss that with her later." Turning towards Amelia Piper asked about when Hermione would be able to leave the Hospital.

"She will need to remain here one more night, I have a trusted mediwitch, who has agreed to have me remove her memories of the patient, coming tonight that will be administering potions and spells to speed up the healing process. Tomorrow morning we will pretend she is still as injured as she is and I will issue her a "transfer" to a private facility for specialized care. When in fact she will be released into your care. Later tomorrow we will be picking up your third soon to be ward and in two days we'll have you flying back to America the muggle way to avoid magical tracing."

"Wow, this is a lot quicker than the process to get Paige, which took us three weeks. But you needn't worry about an airline, Leo can have us all in America in under a minute." Amelia regarded them for a moment and nodded.

"Tomorrow morning we will all make a trip to Diagon Alley, Hermione, Harry and myself will be under a glamour so we won't be recognized. Miss Granger, do you have any other questions for me? No? Then I shall leave you with you Sister, visiting hours end in an hour and thirty minutes. Have a good day." She waved towards the group and left the room, a hopeful feeling filling her chest at what appeared to be a fractured family repairing itself.
