Hey everyone! Sorry for the massive delay but ya know...grad school. The last month was basically spent doing research and other bullshit for my final paper. Luckily I found some time to write this!

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Wind Granma

Naruto grinned as he got on board the lead ship of the Revolutionary Army with Yamato following in tow behind him. Like Dragon had said, the Marine blockade eventually ended, and they assumed that he had already left the island. He could see Dragon and Sabo waiting for him while the rest of the crew scurried around. "Hey Dragon!" Naruto greeted as he approached the man.

"Naruto," he replied before turning towards the tall woman beside the blond. Naruto had told him much about her during their calls. Apparently, she was Kaido's only child who he'd kept imprisoned on his base in Wano after it was evident that their ideologies didn't line up. "And you must be Yamato," he said earning an enthusiastic nod from the horned woman.

"I am! A pleasure to meet you," She said loudly giving the tattooed man a small bow. She knew that he was technically Naruto's boss in this world and she didn't want to make a bad first impression. Yamato found it inspiring that they fought against the World Government for their worldwide oppression.

"You have the habit of meeting the most interesting people in the world don't you Naruto? First Big Mom, then First Fire Fist Ace, and now Kaido's kid?" Sabo commented as he sat down on a barrel and gave the two a wide grin. "I'm Sabo by the way!" He said introducing himself to Kaido's daughter.

Yamato's eyes widened as she realized that this was the person Ace had mentioned in his stories about his youth. The friend who he believed had died years ago. Looking at Naruto, she didn't know if she should say something but the blond shook his head in response. "I'll tell you later," he whispered to her before looking back at Sabo. "Well, must just be my magnetic personality," he replied.

"Is that what you like to tell yourself?" Sabo replied before Dragon cleared his throat, getting attention back to him.

"While certainly impressive, we have much to discuss," the tattooed man said, motioning for the two to follow him into the command room. "Sabo manage the ship while I talk with them," he ordered the second in command of the Revolutionary Army before going into the ship.

"I hope I made a good first impression," Yamato said following after her blond lover, ducking under the door frame as she entered the room. In the middle was a massive map with markings showing points of interest to the rebel group. One of them, she noticed was Wano, where her father was based. Whole Cake island had been another, apparently, that was where Big Mom had made her kingdom.

"Since you joined, I've been thinking about where I can put you Naruto. You're immensely powerful, and to be frank, you draw a bit too much attention when you fight and the World Government is desperate to capture you," Dragon said placing his hands on the table and locking eyes with Naruto, his piercing black stare digging in deep. "But you have a great heart. And you share many of our values," he said before sighing. "So I decided to promote you to a new position as Commander of Revolutionary Black Ops," he told the blond.

"Black Ops?" Naruto repeated as he wondered what that meant. From the sound of it, he figured that it might be something like being an ANBU back in Konoha.

"In essence, you'll be our version of the World Government's Cipher Pol," Dragon told Naruto as he figured that he would be better using his skills as a shinobi for covert operations and his immense power for more dangerous missions than he didn't feel comfortable sending standard members at. "You'll be doing more covert operations and taking on missions too dangerous for most. And when you're not, you can travel around the world at your leisure," he explained.

This plan not only have the jinchuuriki much freedom to move around the world but also kept the rest of his men safe. Naruto seemed to attract a lot of attention from key figures in the world, and with Kaido's daughter now following him around, it was possible that the Yonko would come after them sooner or later to get his child back. He couldn't risk his people being put in the crosshairs of both the World Government and the Beast Pirates.

"You'll still get missions from us and we'll provide you funding should you need it," Dragon added on.

Naruto thought about it and it sounded good in his mind. He'd still be able to help out while sailing around and exploring the world with Yamato. "Who else is gonna be part?" Naruto asked wondering if it was just him.

"You and whoever you think would be a good member, " he said looking at Yamato.

"I want to be a pirate like Oden, but I'll help out Naruto however I can!" Yamato announced. She wanted to sail the ocean on the crew of the next Pirate King like her idol had done decades ago. However, she wanted to stay with her whiskered lover for as long as she could. In her mind, she had already settled on maybe joining Ace's brother's crew whenever he set sail.

"Then you can join as a proxy member if you want and if Naruto wants to let you join" Dragon offered, figuring that she could be considered a member until she left to do whatever she wanted to do as a pirate. He was certain that she was exceptionally powerful given her lineage. Having her as an ally of them would be beneficial, especially if they got into a battle against a tougher opponent like one of the Yonko and their crew.

Orange eyes widened at the suggestion. Nodding her head vigorously she accepted the offer to join on a temporary basis until she was ready to leave and become a pirate. "Yes!" she said before turning to the blond with eyes full of hope.

"Of course, I'll let you join Yamato," Naruto replied earning him a loud shout of happiness from the large woman. Yamato quickly planted a kiss on his cheek as a thanks much to Dragon's surprise.

"Oh? So you two are more than just friends it seems?" Dragon commented with a smirk on his face as he started to notice how close the two seemed to one another. He was happy for the spiky-haired blond, after losing everything it would do him some good to have someone with him that wasn't just another friend.

"I guess you can say that," Naruto muttered before the tattooed man pulled out a file from a desk and placed it on the table. On the cover, he could read two words- Tequila Wolf. "New mission?"

His question was answered with a nod from Dragon who opened the file to reveal pictures of an immense bridge. There were various pictures of people working on the project. From the way, they were dressed and the number of guards present, anyone could tell that they were slaves. "Oden mentioned it in his journal," Yamato said as she pulled out Oden's journal and flipped through the pages until she landed at the part where Oden talked about passing by Tequila Wolf while sailing with Roger. "It's being built by slaves isn't it?" she asked wanting confirmation.

"Correct. The bridge was started under the orders of the World Nobles seven hundred years ago. We don't know exactly why they're building it, but the number of slaves imprisoned there in unforgivable," Dragon stated, knowing that the number of slaves funneled into the project and the number of deaths across its construction was astronomical. He'd admit that some of the slaves were former criminals who were sentenced to work until death, but there were just as many people who simply came from countries that weren't aligned with the World Government.

Yamato scowled as it reminded her of Kaido and how he enslaved the people of Wano for his own means. Her fists clenched at the memory of her own childhood. The countless nights spent locked away and fed scraps by her own father, just because their way of thinking didn't align. The only ray of light was the samurai she met during that time. Who taught her how to read Oden's logbook before their eventual breakout and demise at the hands of her father.

She was broken out of her thoughts when Naruto placed a hand on her arm. Taking a deep breath, she tried her best to calm down. Unknowingly she had started to unleash her Haki on the unprepared ship. Her eyes widened as she realized what she'd done, "Sorry!" She exclaimed, knowing the effects that Haoshoku Haki could have on those weaker than the user.

Dragon waved it off, "Don't fret about it," he said knowing that a few of his crew were likely feeling the effects of the wave of Haki but didn't want to upset the orange-eyed beauty.

"I guess I'll fly us there," Naruto said figuring it was faster and safer than taking the Wind Granma to a place that could be swarming with Marines.

"Does that mean I get to fly again?!" Yamato asked excited at the prospect of being able to fly with her best friend again.

"Actually, I have a surprise for the two of you. We got a message from that pirate friend of yours. Turns out he fought and lost to the Whitebeard Pirates but ended up with them. Originally they were going to burn their ship after joining, but they figured that I'd do better in your care than as charcoal," Dragon told them as Ace had managed to contact him after parting with his blond commander. "I had a team go and grab the ship, it should be here in a few days," Dragon said.

"So he joined the Whitebeard Pirates huh…"Naruto muttered, not really seeing it coming. He knew that his friend was going to fight against the legendary pirate, but he never expected Ace to join his crew after losing. Ace always seemed too intent on proving himself, for him to suddenly stop his quest from beating the Yonkos and joining one…something major must have happened.

Something that likely wouldn't have happened if he had been there…

He heard that Whitebeard had the power to destroy the world in his prime. How true that was, he wasn't really sure, but he doubt anyone would doubt the man's power. "Ace, what happened with Whitebeard?" he asked himself.

Yamato was also worried about their freckled friend but she believed in him being safe. She knew that Ace would never have joined Whitebeard if it wasn't the best choice for himself and his crew. "He's going to be fine, and if he isn't we'll save him!" Yamato declared confidently. If Whitebeard hurt her friend, then it didn't matter if he was a Yonko or anything to him. She'd fight to the death for her friend.

"You're right. Besides, I still have to pay him back for ditching us," Naruto said knowing Yamato was right. Like Yamato, he didn't care for how strong Whitebeard was rumored to be, if hurt his friend…he'd wouldn't hesitate to unleash his full power against the man.

Dragon didn't say anything as the two process what could have happened since they last saw Ace. It had only been a few weeks since Ace left them on that island and the Marines arrived to blockade them from leaving. From the looks of it, Ace joining the crew of one of the Yonko wasn't exactly something that Naruto expected.

"I'm gonna go take a nap, Dragon is there a room Yamato could stay in?" Naruto said as he decided to go to his room.

"I could just stay in yours," Yamato stated, crossing her arms not seeing why she couldn't just share the room with the blond.

Naruto scratched the back of his head, "Well, my bed isn't exactly made for someone of your stature," he said knowing that the bed he had was made for regular-sized humans not larger ones like Yamato.

The Oden fanatic pouted, puffing out her cheeks at being denied, "Fine," she relented knowing that they broke a bed back at the inn despite it having been made for people like her.

"I'll have a room with a larger bed prepared for you Yamato. We have some lunch left over if either of you needs some food," Dragon said turning to leave the room to return to his crew, he had an organization to run after all.

"You're worried about him?" Yamato asked as the blond sat down and rubbed his head.

"I mean…yeah. Something must have happened for him to just give up his goal like that. Do you think Whitebeard threatened him?" Naruto asked his companion who shook her head.

"No, Oden wrote in his journal that Whitebeard was a good captain and treated the members of his crew like family," Yamato replied taking Oden at his word about the now elderly pirate.

Naruto didn't say anything right away in response, but leaned back and thought about Ace and why'd he join up with Whitebeard after leaving them. Ace had told them that he felt that he couldn't grow with him around. That his achievements might lose their meaning if they were gotten thanks to him and his 'otherworldly' power. But Whitebeard was considered the strongest man in the world by the World Government. Wouldn't that be the same thing? Or maybe Whitebeard could offer him something that the blond never could?

"Next time I see him, I'm gonna knock his teeth down his throat," Naruto announced as he stood up, lifting his arms up over his head to stretch. "Then maybe have a beer with him," He added much to Yamato's delight.

"Maybe by then, Luffy will be a pirate too!" Yamato reminded the blond, recalling that Ace's younger brother was on going to start his journey as a pirate in a few years. Given how vast the ocean was, it was possible they wouldn't run into the flame user for a while.

"So the four of us then," Naruto corrected, recalling promising Ace that one day the four of them would meet up. "Come on, let's get some food before we turn in."

Naruto sighed as he sat down on his bed and crossed his legs. Taking in a deep breath, he began to draw in the energy of the world around him. Closing his eyes, he entered his base Six Path Sage Mode.

With every use, he understood more and more about the world around him. To say that this place was weird was a complete understatement. There were plenty of people who looked and seemed normal, but then there were people who looked…almost weird. They didn't have Chakra but instead could eat strange fruits that gave them powers in exchange for their ability to swim.

Then there was Haki. A power that seemed to be a person's will manifested? He didn't quite understand it but people seemed convinced that he was using it on some level. However, he didn't think he had it, or at least not yet.

Combining Kurama's ability to sense negative emotions with his own ability to draw in natural energy he was able to feel something about the power this world gave off. It seemed to hate people with Devil Fruits in some form. He didn't quite understand why though.

He really felt it for the first time when he was attacked by those Marines, Smoker and Hina if he remembered correctly. Despite not knowing anything about Logia, the senjutsu coursing through him, made from the combination of his chakra and that of this world was able to hit Smoker despite his ability to turn to smoke. Even his Rasengan was able to hurt the man with ease.

It was as if his body and jutsu gained the same aspects of sea stone. That got him thinking about if maybe the reason sea stone was so hard was that it naturally drew in natural energy from the ocean.

"When did you become so insightful?" Kurama asked as he could hear Naruto's thoughts on the subject of the world they were now a part of. Like Naruto, he'd given up on trying to return back to their home world. Was it possible with enough chakra and the right space-time ninjutsu? Maybe. But he'd admit neither knew enough about the fundamentals of the field to realistically cobble together a jutsu that would accurately send them back.

This world was at least tolerable. The last thing they needed was being sent to a world in even deeper shit. With their luck, they'd end up in a world filled with zombies or something like that.

"Probably when I decided to change the world…twice at this point…" Naruto replied as he opened his eyes to reveal their altered form. "There are a lot of bad things going on in this world, probably on a larger scale than even in the Elemental Nations," he said having witnessed what some of the people here were willing to do to others.

"You can say that again. I'm surprised you didn't end that behemoth of women back then. What a horrid person…" Kurama growled recalling all the inhumane things they heard that Big Mom had committed against the people of the lands she ruled over and even her family itself.

"I thought about it. I really did. But you saw how her family reacted when I so much as threatened to attack her if needed. Had I killed her, most of her kids would stop at nothing to have me dead. And who knows what they'd do in the process…" He replied having seriously considered trying to kill Big Mom back during his imprisonment on the cake-themed island. However, he decided against that in order to avoid a major incident that could drag the rest of the Revolutionary Army into a war.

"Oh? Are you sure you don't care for that log-legged woman?" Kurama asked laughing at his jinchuuriki's embarrassment.

"There's nothing between me and Smoothie! That was all just to get off the island peacefully," the blond stated in response.

"If you say so, I recall you blushing when she kissed you!" The tailed beast laughed off before laying down on the ground. "However you can't deny what's going on between you and the horned woman!" The fox added on as it was clear that his host and Yamato's friendship went a bit deeper than just being traveling companions.

"Oh shut up," Naruto reported as his eyes shifted back to blue, much to the amusement of the massive fox.

As day broke, the crew of the Wind Granma spurred back to life, resuming their regular tasks around the ship to get the head vessel of the Revolutionary Army to their next destination. However this time there was a second ship sailing beside it. Walking out from their rooms, Naruto and Yamato were quick to spot their new ship.

It looked almost exactly like they remembered it to look. The only difference was that the word 'SPADE' on the white sail had been completely removed and the Spade Pirate's jolly roger on the lower sail and flag were now an Uzumaki swirl.

"We had to change a few things to make sure that the ship wasn't mistaken as part of Whitebeard's crew as news of Ace joining them will likely spread soon enough given his reputation," Dragon said from behind the two as he approached. "We're already in a bit of hot water with the Beast Pirates, one of their ships confronted one of ours and demanded to know where Yamato was. It's likely that the crew members you attacked on your way to save those kids told him what happened," the leader of the Revolutionary Army concluded. He knew that Naruto likely avoided killing as many as he could, meaning at least one person would have been able to report to Kaido what happened while he was away.

Yamato tensed as she imagined her father coming after them to try and recapture her. While she was trying to be her own person now and not just trying to become Oden, she still believed in following his way of life. To be truly free. However she more than anyone knew just how powerful her father was, and she knew that she didn't stand a chance against him at the moment. Looking over at the shorter blond at her side, she couldn't help but wonder how he'd fair against Kaido.

Thinking back to Naruto's battle against Hawkeye Mihawk, she knew that he was far stronger than he appeared. Even when fighting against her he held back tremendously. The difference between the two of them and her was night and day. Then there was…that… Something that she hadn't told Naruto or Ace about yet.

"Well if he wants to pick a fight then let him come," Naruto said not willing to be intimidated by someone who had caused so much harm to innocent people, especially to his new friend and lover. He was confident in his abilities in the world. Mainly because of his ability to use Senjutsu. "So how do we leave the Grand Line? I don't think I've ever left it since arriving." the blond asked, having found out that apparent Tequila Wolf wasn't on the Grand Line but rather in the East Blue so a Pose Log wouldn't lead them to it.

"Naruto, would you be able to carry your ship with you over the Calm Belt? We don't have the Seastone to coat the bottom of your ship at the moment," Dragon asked, figuring that by flying over the unassuming sea they'd be able to avoid being swarmed by Sea Kings without needing the rare metal.

"Why would we need Seastone to cross the Calm Belt?" Yamato asked, having never heard of the area.

"That part of the ocean is filled with creatures called Sea Kings. Some aren't anything to worry about, but they can grow large enough to devour a fleet of ships and sink entire islands," Dragon told them, shocking the two at the sheer scale of the size that a Sea King could grow to. It sounded like they could grow to a size close to or greater than a Tailed Beast.

"I wanna see one!" Yamato declared to the two men, wanting to see just how big these creatures were.

"Unless you wanna put your ship at risk of being eaten, I don't think that's a good idea," Dragon sighed, hoping he didn't waste time getting the ship for the two of them only for a Sea King to destroy it.

Yamato smiled widely as she and Naruto set sail on the Piece of Spadille bit ahead they could see the Wind Granma sailing. Since neither she nor Naruto was good at navigating outside of following what a Log Pose told them, they figured that they'd follow the other ship before splitting away when closer to their destination.

It felt good to have the sea air blowing against her skin. Having been stuck on an island while they waited for the Marines to leave. Part of her had wanted to just blow through them, but Naruto wanted to just let them leave without conflict. Behind her, Naruto was steering the ship, making sure that they didn't get knocked off course.

Looking at the Wind Granma, he saw the signal for Naruto to lift the ship off the water as they entered the Calm Belt.

"Let's do this Kurama," Naruto said as golden energy wrapped around him before forming a massive fox-shaped construct with nine long tails. Yamato stared up in amazement at the sight of the huge beast as it wrapped its tails around the ship, mending them together like a cocoon around it and lifting it up into the air.

Yamato let out a relaxed sigh as the warmth of Naruto's chakra wrapped around her. It was almost like basking in the light of the sun as it enveloped her. She felt the chakra pulling her up through the body of the fox until she was floating inside the fox-like head of the avatar as they flew behind the Wind Granma.

"I can sense them," Naruto said looking down at the still waters below them. Despite none being out on the surface, he could feel them via his senjutsu. Colossal monsters lay just below the surface, waiting for their next prey to sail in. He could feel a few that were just as big if not bigger than Kurama himself.

While he wasn't worried about them in a straight fight, their sheer size would make them a pain to deal with if they had to protect the ship as well. They would likely also doom any Devil Fruit user who was on an unprotected ship if they couldn't somehow fly. It was less of an issue of strength but rather one of pure size.

They watched as one breached the water near them. Like many of the people here, it somehow managed to look goofy despite the danger that is posed to anyone who sailed the Calm Belt. "The outside world is scary…" Yamato muttered as the sea monster was just as big as her father while in his dragon form.

A roaring laugh resonated through her head. Yamato's eyes widened as she saw the image of a massive fox with nine tails laying inside an opened cage with a wide smirk on its face. "Relax girl, those overgrown fish are nothing compared to us!" The fox stated feeling confident in their chances against all of those creatures.

"You're Kurama!" Yamato yelled in excitement as she finally got to talk to the creature that lived within the man by her side. Kurama had been one of the few people Naruto had told her about in his many tales from his world. "Wow, I didn't think I'd ever get to talk to you!"

"Guess introductions aren't needed then," Kurama commented as Yamato seemed to have been rather well informed as to who he was thanks to Naruto. "Sorry you've had to deal with my idiot of a jinchuuriki," the Biju apologized much to Naruto's annoyance.

"Oi! What is that supposed to mean!" Naruto yelled out, shaking his fist in the air.

"It means you can be an idiot!" Kurama yelled back at his host. "You're the one who's only been in a new world for a few months, and yet you already became one of the most wanted men in the world instead of lying low and figuring out what's going on!" Kurama added on as his host had somehow managed to paint a massive target on his back so quickly. He had already been confronted by what apparently was the best swordsman in the world. He doubted that the World Government would stop even if he beat Mihawk. They'd probably keep testing them until something worked.

"Eh? But Naruto's awesome! He's showing everyone just how strong he is while defending their freedom!" Yamato responded, defending the blond's actions. Naruto smiled when Yamato defended his choices in this world. He could see the merit in what Kurama said. In the knew that Sasuke and Kakashi would have facepalmed at the knowledge that he had put himself at the front of the government's shitlist.

This, however, got a chuckle from the beast, "Well I guess I can't quite argue with that now can I. He may be an idiot but his heart is in the right place" Kurama said before yawning. "Well, I'm gonna take a nap, wake me up once we get there," he mentioned before cutting off the connection between the three.

"Lazy fox," Naruto grumbled as he heard the snores of the Biju in his head.

"Well he cares about you," Yamato said in response as it was clear to her that despite the insults, the fox cared deeply for her lover. She almost felt jealous that he had someone like that with him at all times. Her whole life no one has cared for her like that, most not blinking as her father tortured her because of the life she wanted to live and the values she held dear to her.

"Yeah, we weren't always like this, for a while he wanted nothing more than for me to give into my hatred and basically die," Naruto mentioned to her as they flew through the air, the Piece of Spadille suspended in the air behind them by Kurama's tails. "But we made a lot of progress during the war."

"I wanna hear the story of this war one day," Yamato mentioned, wanting to know more about the battle that sent the blond to this world. She knew a few things about the Fourth Shinobi World War, like that it was for the freedom of the world against a group that wanted to put everyone in an endless dream until they died. But she wanted to know more about the battles he fought in! The enemies he encountered along the way!

"Hm maybe after this mission then," the blond told Yamato, much to her glee.

And there we have it! A big request has been for Tequila Wolf to be a mission for them, so figured why not!

I think we're nearing the time skip to when Luffy sets sail. I wanna say probably around chapter 20ish? But don't hold me to it!

Anyways leave a review! Do it! It takes like 10 seconds!
